hmm.. i read a lot of fanfiction mostly all of them are based on Cardcaptors Sakura.. OF COURSE!!!
well most of the fanfics have Tomoyo and Eriol together?? do you think they should b together. well because they're not together in any sort in the anime. but in the last episode, they do think alike about the syaoran and sakura thing but wat do you ppl think?? :tongue:
i think they would have made a COOL couple in the series.. too bad nothing happened between the both of them though.. sad.. *sigh o well.. at least we got our fanfics.. haha..
i dun really like kaho and eriol together so yea..

its Kaho Mizuki (the maths teacher in later half) and its not an engagement as far as I know (don't have the final volume of Master of the Clow yet, so I can't be sure)

Oh. Hm, who would have thought. Well, that pairing is about as odd as Rika and Terada-sensei. Years apart. Personality-wise, I think the two would make a match. Not perfect, but a match all right.

first of all, CLAMP actually states that (well in their interview) that the theme behind CCS is to promote the idea of 'unconditional love'.
So therefore, if you guys cringe/shiver at the thought of somewhat odd pairings (like Rika X terenda, kaho X eriol *shudders a bit*) I guess you have to respect the decisions of CLAMP. Even though I could not accept yaoi/yuri/LARGE age difference/etc of the rest of the CCS pairings...
i mean basically CCS is a very complex story if you talking about relationships. And if u think twice, most of the couples (well yea i think they are mostly paired up) are well, weird and freakish. So it forms this whole formulae of S + S being the most 'healthiest' couple. Tomoyo and Eriol is a gd match too, but well it only remains in fanfictions unfortunately, since Eriol is to be stuck with Kaho...= = *sigh* overall, we have to accept the fact that E + T only remains in our 'dreams'. haha. But in other ways, Tomoyo is paired up with Kurogane in TRC. So does that mean CLAMP begins to realize the importance of Tomoyo...haha dunno.

Well, as a new person, I would like to comment that they look cute together, but somehow, the previous decagon relationship is just making shadow in my mind...I agree with you Ashley girl, and its just a very complex story that links everyone together, whether its a normal relationship or weird one.

yeah tomoyo and eriol are a good match but there is something that would be strange about it somehow.for those of you who think that the relationships are weird like i do just think that it is just how it is in the series , i mean how could it be different? That is just the way they made it.

When I had first started reading fanfiction with E&T Coupling, I thought they were an official couple since I had only seen a few episodes of [mocking angry voice] Cardcaptors [gags].
But then I saw the anime...read the manga and I was like, "Eriol and Kaho ...whaaaa?" [shiver]

Kaho went from Touya who's like, what? 18 or so? To a 12 year-old boy. . . I know older women like younger guys but ...eww...pediphile, much? The same with Rika and Tarada, that just disturbs me greatly. But I've got no problem with Touya and Yukito. Heck, I wouldn't even have a problem with Sakura and Tomoyo if it weren't for the fact that they're related! (and that I'm a crazy S&S fan) Err...second cousins but still...
Ahh, sorry if I offend anybody :unsure: (especially CLAMP eeep) That's just my thought and you can ignore me completely cause my opinions mean nothing. :sad5:

But as I said it would only remain in the fanfiction world...*sigh*...and I absolutely agree on Endoh that those 'weird' matches....but i gues that's how CLAMP was trying to promote the idea of unconditional love by setting up all the yaoi and yuri matches...

Sometimes, I just can see why it would be classified as Shoujo comic, especially, its a kiddie shoujo lol Its sometimes hard to understand their relationship in a ( year old's point of view. For example, the relationship between Touya and Yukito ( and/or possibly Yue, though he is the polar opposite of Yukito). I don't think ...I would have known some gay couples when I'm 9, and they seem to be....well....I'm not sure how to describe it.But seems CLAMP love this yaoi match...so off they go as "official". And as for E & T, many fans (hehe lol) love this couple ^^ And also, it seems to be the normal kind of relationship ( like not yuri or yaoi, and not betweena 10 yr old and a 22 yr old...lol). But CLAMP thinks CCS should contain more of the weird relations, so as to emphasize LOVE is one of the main theme, and precisely like what Ashley said, its UNCONDITIONAL...lol ^^ Anywayz,I just hope maybe E & T might be official in TRC, seeing that TRC is like...a fan-based comic ( somehow it tries to put every fan's dream in it hehe)

yea...i agree with lumizstar...why don't CLAMP just promote their theme in a more healthy point of view? Why don't they just match up NORMAL couples. I bet they could do much better than only matching up yaoi and yuri ones.

Forgive me if i got the facts wrong. I've a poor memory. Also no offence to anyone.
Eriol may look like a 12 year old kid but his actual age should be the same as sakura's father. Eriol used his powers to keep him at the child state so that he can get near to sakura.
For touya and yukito, I remembered nakuru saying that she does not have a gender because she's not human. She just like her female appearance. So yukito is also not human. He may not be male after all...
I know my logic is a bit strange and that's why i feel that clamp's work are sometimes so 'confusing'.

I've seen a lot of fansites for Tomoyo + Eriol pairings.. they probably follow up second to S+S.
My opinion is yes, they do go well together. Think about times you see them together. Everytime they went out in a foursome, S+S+T+E, Tomoyo and Eriol would always be together. When Eriol first arrived, Tomoyo shows him around. Not Sakura. Tomoyo. Also, from the manga. There is a page when S+S are talking, and Tomoyo sees them from inside school. Eriol turns up and compliments her, saying she watches over Sakura with caring eyes. Tomoyo says he does do; a compliment he didn't expect to get, from his reaction. There are also flowers everywhere, which seems to dipict [sp?] romance. They seem to be very formal, Eriol calling Tomoyo Daidjini-san and Tomoyo calling Eriol Hiragwiza-san. Also, near the end, Eriol calls Tomoyo by first name, when Tomoyo is being observant. Another compliment. And, when Kaho comes back, Tomoyo says to Eriol that he is fond of her, and pays her another compliment, more flowers in the background. So. I think Tomoyo+Eriol would go together.

I always love reading fanfictions where they're originally plotting to get S&S together and they end up falling for eachother.
Suure, sure, it's all cliche' and over-used. But we all need some corny cliche' stuff every once in a while.

I like how fanfictionists [aka fanfic writers thats what I call them] protray the different and similar traits between Tomoyo and Eriol. I do believe that they should be together. I feel really sorry for Tomoyo because almost everyone has a special someone: Sakura & Syaoran, Eriol & Kaho, Chiharu & Yamazaki, Rika & Terada, Yukito & Touya.. and she doesn't have one.. :( maybe that's why she and Meiling are such great friends towards the end, like in the second movie, where the're trying to get Sakura to confess her feelings for Syaoran. And about Eriol.. isn't Kaho and Eriol around the same age in the manga? only Eriol possesses the body of an 11 year old?
It says so in Volume 11 Chapter 3 Page 34.. :D

The one thing about CLAMP that I realised is that it broadened my horizons on relationships. Falling in love now has a deeper meaning as nothing is as it seems...
I also discovered E+T through fanfiction and I was really caught by surprise as I had never expected such coupling. In fact (I have to admit this) I took it as a rude shock. I didn't see CLAMP making this official. I kinda knew about everyone else but this... so I took it pretty hard.
But after a few more fanfiction, I kinda warmed up to this coupling. It's not that bad... :keke:
And now with TRC, and the appearance of Kurogane, things could get very interesting... especially in terms of fanfiction. :XD:

After S+S, I would definitely say that Eriol and Tomoyo are my favourite pairing in CCS. The only problem is that they're not together -_- *Oh CLAMP! How could you do this to your loyal E+T fans!? :cry:*  I mean sure it's official in the CCS manga that Eriol and Kaho are together (I'm sorry to E+K fans but EWW...), but E+T fans can still imagine them together and draw fanart, right? *starts writing another fanfic in which E+T are together, and there's no Kaho!!! :angry:*

Tomoyo x Eriol is my second favorite CCS pair next to Syaoran x Sakura. I really would have liked these two to be together but like ashleygurl said, Eriol is to be stuck with Kaho x_X; So bummer to us E x T fans.....wah. Oh wells, I'll still look forward to seeing more Tomoyo x Kurogane in TRC.

I hate S + T....the reason that there are so many E + T fans is that people started noticing how similar the two are...what with the hair colour, and personality. So loads of people started writing fics.....it's as accepted as S + S now, in most places.

I can't really see them together.
I think every relationship that Clamp created for CCS makes sense and is perfect for CCS.
And I'm not Japanese, but I don't think that age differences or same sex relationships are as big a deal there as they are here. Maybe it's a culture thing?

Don't worry, you aren't the only with that opinion and everyone is entitled to thier own opinion regarding the relationships in CCS.
and the reason why Eriol can is because he is not Clow Reed (which he said in Episode 70). And in regards to the manga, about him holding his age at that point, there is nothing to say he can't age from now on at a normal rate is there? :)

I really love the idea of Tomoyo and Eriol together if that could be true but it will stay in the dreams of all the fans; the fanfictions of they together are a lot and have nice stories.

One more thing is that during the 3rd season, the 4 of them (S + S and E + T) are together a lot. You know, teddy bear exhibit, when they bought sewing supplies.....my sister watched the teddy bear exhibit one and her initial reaction was "Whoa! Double date!" :D

If I'm honest, I'm not really a big E+T girl. I just think they're too simular. It's good to have things in common, that's how S+S work. But when you're just a picture copy of one another, you relashionship isn't 100% normal. I've never liked E+T. It's a long story why, but I'm more of a fan of Meiling and Tomoyo, cause there the only girl/girl partnership I like.

I always prefered Tomoyo loving Sakura. If CLAMP were aiming to show the feelings of unconditional love then in my opinion, the story of Tomoyo would be the story to look at.
I never liked pairing her with Eriol as it made it seem like she was too willing to turn her back on Sakura. They way I see it, even when Sakura and Syaoran got together, Tomoyo would always Love Sakura unconditionaly, just as her mother always loved Sakura's mother.

Tomoyo would never turn her back on anyone....but lets think about this. Sakura was in love' with Yukito, then realised that the person she really loved was Syaoran. Couldn't it have been like that for Tomoyo and Eriol?
Eriol realises he doesn't truly love Kaho, he loves Tomoyo? And Tomoyo realises that what she feels for Sakura is just very strong friendship, and she is actually in love with Eriol...

No. I really don't like Tomoyo and Eriol together. It's too OOC. Sometimes I think I'm the only one. Eriol is only phsyically a young boy, he might be stuck like that forever for all we know. So I think he and Kaho are suited cause in reality, she's much younger then he is. Tomoyo is only interested in Sakura, and from the looks of thing, Tomoyo is only into girls. I think I'm the only one sometimes who likes Eriol and Kaho together and sometimes I think I'm the only one who likes Tomoyo and Meiling (if not romantic then certainly close friendship).
I just never saw Eriol show and interest in Tomoyo, neither did she with him. In the manag, Eriol says that she is a very nice person and very observant... That's not a romantic thing, that's a complament.
Of course, if Eriol does have the body to change... Then it's well known that I prefer to set him with Meiling. I know that's OOC too but.. I just really like them. They only meet once, but I just like them together. I remember the first fanfic I ever read had them in it, and I loved it. Since then, I've always liked them together. I don't just throw it in like some people do, I let it devlope over time (like in TSDOML). I just think they're suited, seeing as Meiling seems to have had hard lucky with love (and takes it but cries over it... a lot. I mean when she gave Syaoran off and started crying in Tomoyo's lap... I wanted to hug her. Poor thing!) and she's missed out on having magic because of her being a glich, so Eriol would be able to resort magic to her line. She's Chinese and he's English... so it's Clow Reed all over again. She's a Li... In my head it fits like a glove.

Yeah, I actually WOULD like to see those two basically harass S&S. Personally, I don't like Eriol and Tomoyo because it seems just wierd since they are not interested in each other whatsoever in the manga, or the anime at that, but I do say it works better than Eriol and Kaho, and actually, Eriol and Tomoyo both sorta play matchmaker for Syaoran and Sakura.
Personally, I sorta like Kurogane and Tomoyo, but then again, that's just me, and everyone has their own opinions.

In that case... I don't like them because like it's been said, Tomoyo and Eriol don't really like each other *that* way. I imagine them teaming up to harass S+S (with the help of Meiling who is Tomoyo's true partner in crime) to drive them insaine. That would be a cute thing to watch. The E+T friendship and understanding as been like guardians to the brainless airheads S+S, is very good.
As a romantic pair... I just don't see it. Even in fanfiction. ^_^
But (now work with me on this cause I do this a lot) if we're talking about a case where the Fantastic Five (Sakura, Syaoran, Tomoyo, Meiling and Eriol) are playing matchmaker or just 'screw-about-with-S+S-minds-time'... I imagine that the 'Terrific Two' (S+S) would be being tourtured by the 'Troublesome Two' (M+T) and Eriol thinking "Hey this is fun!" and then teaming up with the girls to form the M.E.T. Meiling. Eriol. Tomoyo. M.E.T. Met.
Sorry for going a little off topic... But yes, I don't support the coupling but I promote the friendship between Eriol and Tomoyo (and double promote it if Meiling is friends too).

Thank you. It's the same with me. I'm not a huge fan of a few popular couplings, so I just don't read them. I would never mark a story bad just because the story wasn't my sort of thing. That is very rude!

I support this couple and part of this reason is that I live in the U.S. and I only found out about Card Captor Sakura because of Cardcaptors, and thanks to the Internet, I was able to find out that Cardcaptors was dubbed and even though I didn't see any E&T pairings, I figured that it was cut out of the show.
When I finally saw all 70 episodes, 2 movies, 3 ova's, and the Kero-chan omakase from the 2nd movie, I was genuinely surprised that there wasn't any E&T pairing in it, so I told myself that they might have it in the manga, but I read all 12 volumes of manga and they didn't have it in there either, but I was so influenced by fanfics with this pairing, that it's hard to persuade me otherwise. Even if it's not official, fanfiction.net is what brought me to like this couple. I will always like Sakura & Syaoran first, but Eriol & Tomoyo will always be a very close second!

1) Eriol+Kaho -- That is just stupid. Eriol+Kaho at the last second?
2) Eriol is _much_ older than Tomoyo -- Well, Rika+Mr.Tereda worked .in.the.manga.--
3) Eriol hardly knows Tomoyo -- (With time, they can get to know each other)
4) Eriol has caused much trouble to Sakura and Syaoran and Kero and Yue and Tomoyo -- (Tomoyo can excuse that because Eriol needed to to get Sakura to transform the cards)
*They can make a very good pair! They are both dark haired, intelligent, and perceptive

Thing is, I am immensely drawn to opposite personalities, :points to siggie: but this couple is so much alike, and it doesn't even bother me. Their personalities are almost identical, and yet, they seem like the perfect couple! I don't know why I'm still attracted to them.

I LOVE E&T... All my fanfics are E&T.
But, now I realize something, they are never going to happen, not even in TRC. Why?
I have this crazy theory that the father of Sakura in TRC is Eriol. And I read some post before in this topic that said that Eriol was the same age as Fujitaka, but he keep himself young, with magic, to help Sakura in CCS (And as I understand Fujitaka and Eriol are parts of Clow is soul, I never read CCS manga)
And it make sense because Fujitaka was the father of sakura in SCC and now in TRC Eriol is the father of Sakura. In the end Sakura will always be descendant of CLOW in the spiritual side.
So that is why kurogane is in TRC... to be with Tomoyo... I was like, I want to see Tomoyo and Eriol in TRC, but if Eriol is dead there is no reason to continue in hoping that CLAMP made E&T an official couple.
I'm sad... That is why we haven't seen Eriol in TRC, he is dead. I'm sad...
Well maybe E&T is never going to be an official couple but I will support them for ever an ever, and they will live in my crazy fan heart.

Hi! This is just a theory. Sakura is dad could be Clow reed. But Yuko keep saying that clow reed die a long time ago. I think it made more sense if Eriol is the father and if you analize the parts in wich appear the father of sakura in TRC they never call him by his name. So we can't know if he is Clow or Eriol.

You have a good point there. They were always watching Sakura and Syaoran no matter what. As for me, I never really pictured them as a couple. I mean they're cute together but I just can't really see it happening.

haha, yes. i wonder as well for that clamp question. I, in my opinion, kinda think that couple is fine together since they aren't coupled in the series at least for CCS. Eriol, however, is supposed to take the part to be Clow's reincarnation and help sakura out and test. Tomoyo, is the one who is overly-obsessed with sakura and filming everything, AND making costumes. They're both quite different personalities... but some say, opposites attract ^_^'' so... i'm saying: ... wait- i'm not sure what im saying... o.O''

He is. Also in the manga version of CCS, Clow Reed was reincarnated into two bodies: Eriol and Fujitaka.

I'm one of the few who actually does not like the idea of Tomoyo and Eriol together. In fact, I very much dislike it. Not that I have any other reason for it than that I can't ever picture Tomoyo loving anyone else than her Sakura-chan, and thus being alone forever. :(

Well, I think everyone knows that I hate KuroTomo with the firey passion of a thousand suns, so I don't need to give my opinion about that. But, Ando, you are not alone. I don't like Eriol/Tomoyo very much. I've read a few E/T fics, and they just didn't fit.
But it doesn't send me into an irrational fan rage mode like KuroTomo does. I'm one of the few fans who kinda liked Eriol/Kaho. They seem to fit together pretty well. I think Eriol and Tomoyo could be good friends, but not really a couple. Tomoyo's too gay and too obsessed with Sakura. I've always seen her very much as one of those CLAMP characters who sadly end up alone, like Nokoru.

I like Tomoyo and Eriol together. They seem to just... fit, to me, I guess. I have nothing against Kaho and Eriol, but I'm more 70% T+E and 30% K+E. And I've seen T+E together so much in fics, I'm so used to them as a couple. They're very kawaii together. But Kaho and Eriol is alright, too. I'm just leaning more toward T+E than K+E.

That's Mizuki Kaho-sensei. And yes, I believe that Tomoyo needs someone of her own and Eriol and her play off of each other splendidly! They make a wonderful couple!

Firstly, I don't think Tomoyo and Eriol would make a good couple because they seem more like brothers than lovers to me. I also don't think that Tomoyo would love somebody as much as she loves Sakura and Eriol x Kaho is a really cute couple. I don't mind the age difference (and as a lot of people have already pointed out, Eriol is actually older than Kaho, and though he is in that younger body he still looks great with her), I don't mind the age difference with Terada & Rika either, that couple is too damn adorable!
Secondly, concerning the first posts of this topic, some people said that CLAMP should make more ''healthy'' pairings. Homosexual or age gap pairings are not ''unhealthy'', so I would very much appreciate that you stop saying that.
Lastly, I don't consider Kurogane and Tomoyo-hime a couple, I think that CLAMP has made very clear that Kurogane is with Fye.
However, I have to agree that Eriol and Tomoyo are really cute, but not as a couple. And I think CLAMP thinks that as well.

I'm normally quite tolerant of fan pairings but Eriol x Tomoyo is one of the ones that I can't support. It's not because I hate the characters or that I don't like people's views on the relationship, it's simply because when it comes to fan pairings I tend to back the ones that actually seem realistic - in terms of the character's personality/nature.
In the manga, it's advertised that Tomoyo has feelings for Sakura, in a more than friendly way. She's caring and very respectable as well as dignified. And I agree that Eriol share these qualities as well. But the simple fact that CLAMP alluded to Tomoyo having love interests with Sakura ruins the pairing for me. Supported by the fact that Kaho admits her new love is with Eriol further impends the "relationship".
Obviously Tomoyo supports Sakura x Syaoran but in my opinion, I couldn't really picture Tomoyo being with anyone else. She's just too infatuated with Sakura.

Yes, but there's a difference between liking a pairing and acknowledging that it is canon. Everyone is of course free to support whatever pairings they like - it just bothers me when people claim that the nature of Tomoyo's love for Sakura can be interprented in whatever way one wants.

I don't see how shounen-ai is any different from shoujo-ai, except for different reproductive organs...
Liking and supporting are different, I think (as in, I support Seishirou x Subaru as entirely canon, but I don't particularly care for the pairing). You can support without having to think the pairing is sexually arousing, or anything like that.
As for me, the first time I read CCS I hardly noticed any romance other than Sakura and Syaoran, if I remember correctly. XD I noticed the Tomoyo-Sakura element later, but Tomoyo and Eriol as a romantic pairing surprised me entirely when I first saw it. They seem more like a partners in crime, take-over-the-world pair (You can control east asia, while I take on Europe, 'kay? :keke:). I don't see them being interested in each other in any way other than friends, and I can't stand how some fanfiction authors make them complete saps.

well for me, i didnt want to think of any same-sex relationships. even back then, when my friend explained to me the nature or uranus and neptune's relationship, i was like... ok. and could only think of them as romantic, but my mind wouldnt let me think anything more.
even when i first got into TRC, i was a kuro-tomo shipper. kurofai kinda creeped me out until i read the manga and saw it with my own eyes. it was an epiphany like "ohhh. sweet ^^"
im certain that if i get the chance to read the CCS manga, then ill see the tomo-saku pairing.
dont ask me when my mind broke and im now able to process yaoi, but only yaoi of my OTPs (ive tried to read yaoi originals on aff.net. aint gonna happen <_< ) ive only read 2 yuri stories in my life... and my mind constantly wandered as i read, when i see adverts for yuri/shojo-ai mangas, my mind goes P_P, so it will be some time tll i am able to proces that.

In my opinion, CLAMP made it pretty obvious Tomoyo is in love with Sakura. Even if it is only one-sided it doesn't make it any less canon (In TRC, Piffle Tomoyo ran right past Kurogane to Sakura as soon as she saw her ^_^) Her love for Sakura is really admirable and adorable. It's the "ultimate love" - loving someone without expecting the same in return.
And I really do not like Eriol x Tomoyo at all. I can't understand why it is so popular in the CCS fandom - where did it come from? Alright, yes their eye and hair colours are similar and they both have the same kind smile.. But as far as the manga goes, I wouldn't even go as far as to call them friends.. they're more like acquaintances. Besides in volume 12, Tomoyo seems very supportive of Eriol x Kaho. She says to him that he must be very fond of her (Kaho) because whenever he looks at her he gets the kindest look she's ever seen from him.
