i always read it 'shalon' or 'li'. and sometimes i get annoyed and then i get use to it abut i always type it 'syaoran' ^^

I use Syaoran because it's the original way to spell it. "Syaoran" was used in the Manga before "Shaoran" was used in the Anime. Spell it however you want, if you have only seen the Anime, go with "Shaoran", if you have only read the Manga, "Go with Syaoran. If you have seen and/or read both choose which is more natural to you. I, personally, have always liked "Syaoran," so that is how I spell it. Spelling doesn't really matter anyway, as than as you use one of them and people understand who your talking about.

Since I read the CCS manga first, I always thought it was Syaoran.Â Â In the anime though by Geneon, it was spelled as Shaoran. Either one is right, but personally I still like to use Syaoran. *It just looks right to me

Same here....everywhere I look, Syaoran is usually used, so I tend to look at Shaoran as a bad spelling mistake in a sub.

Its not, Sh and Sy are inter-changable.

In fact the official DVD's of CCS use Shaoran

i don't know why, but i prefer syaoran. seeing as i saw the anime before i even knew about any manga. for some reason syaoran's easier for me to spell than shaoran. don't ask me why.

also, shaolan was used in the bootleg for the second movie. must confess, i bought the bootleg before i found out what bootlegs were.

working on getting the official dvd of the second movie.

I use Shaoran because the official DVD's of CardcaptorSakura use it. I'd seen the latinoamerican version and they use Shaoran too *.*

I write Syaoran as it is what I learnt first and therefore Iam used to it, it comes naturally. I also think the shape of the letters is nicer ^^; lol It is also in my translation of the manga...

But Iam open to Shaoran and pretty much all other spellings, except, Iam a little weird with the dub name... I think it sounds a little too western since they changed his FIRST name to Li instead of his second...

My username is Xiao_Lang which is of course his chinese name <3 I love it when its said in his own language!

Syaoran is most I adore name even though it never changed in CCSakura series either Japanese or in my country.Li Showron,oh well I don't like that name(Ouch!!)

In kanji his name is spelled 小狼 ( Xiaolang in chinese, Shaoran in japanese using katanana), but officially spelled Syaoran in english. Thus I use Syaoran =)

Although I use Syaoran now, I have to admit, I prefer using Li Showron in my fanfics. That's because it was how I first got to know him, and it also separates him from TRC Syaoran in my mind, making it easier to get into character.

I've seen Syaoran (the most common spelling), Shaoran and Shaolan (which are said the same way as in Far East way, 'l' and 'r' are the same letter... Hence they're the same pronouncing. It's the same with Meiling's name. It's a 'ree' sound at the end of her name, not a 'lee' sound)...

Then of cpurse there are the Chinese spelling, the dub names... Syaoran has a lot of names!

I only spell and write it Syaoran.
Here in germany they write it in the manga Shaolan...
