it is about time we Bullet hell game lovers get our own thread now don't we? ;D

my favorite SHMUP or Bullet Hell shooter games are:

Axelay: old timer that is still one of the toughest games i have
Castle Shikigami 2: nonstop bullets, adjustable difficulty settings, kickass bossbattles with great BGM's (especially the fight against Shintarou/Kintarou which is completely awesome' and 2 player mode make this the most fun SHMUP i've played sofar. I also like the anime stuff in this game (too bad that the Playstation 2 version doesn't have the anime movies that the arcade one has v.v)

least favorite one

R type Final.....extreme difficulty but there is a lot of moments where nothing happens for a long time causing me to yawn multiple times in each level

I'm waiting for Radirgy Generic or known as Radio Allergy for Gamecube.

Also Karous (Crows) is headed to Nintendo Wii.

Next, there are now playtests on Cave's newest game, Muchi Muchi Pork!

so the gamecube still gets new games eh? ^^

I've been wanting to check out Ikaruga, it sounded fun with being able to change the color of your ship to absorb bullets of the same color and having to use that ability to stay alive was pretty original.

Kotarou is indeed a score master and was my first character but he was rather weak in everything besides scoring so i ditched him. Sayo....i've heard of her extremely powerfull hyperfire but i don't like her so i haven't tried her out yet. Fumiko and Genojo i just couldn't seem to handle and Genojo really is crap. Kim is my character now but i want to change to another one for more challenge, Sasuke looks interesting altough Niigi could be fun too. Favorite bosses wold Yukari with the cards and her last stage is WTF! with all those big meteors. Shintarou is my favorite of all the bosses since he can copy all the specials of your characters and he has this awesome bgm. Dandeon's last stage (where he throws six weapons) is quite tricky so i usually use a bomb v.v

Kuro-puppy - Time for my Shiki 2 EXPLANATION!

Desu...

First...

CHARACTERS

Kotarou - Score. That's your focus in using him, he has complete Crap Shot and Hyperfire. Shiki is the most important tool for him, your modus operandi is...

Find Bullet -> Ride Bullet -> Use Shiki to score big.

Since his Shiki is homing, you won't have problems in bullet dodging.

Sayo - Broke! HYPERFIRE those losers! Her Shiki is tricky to use (especially on bosses).

Hyuga - Avoid like the plague!

Niigi - She's perfect for offensive types. Run into a LOT of Bullets and use Shiki, run into bullets and use Shiki, rinse and repeat.

Sasuke - His Shiki is a bit complex, rules on your movement. Don't make any silly moves with his Shiki 1 and you'll be fine.

Kim - Shiki 2, get near enemy, watch them die. Repeat.

Fumiko - She's tuned to be a Boss Killer more. Her basic attacks aren't that good.

EH? Your doesn't have those legendary dialogue (with award worthy voice acting) like...

Kotarou - You have two choices.

A) Beaten and Caught

B) Caught and Beaten

I save Shiki 2 mostly for bossbattles and use the homing hyper fire for annihalating enemies or when Shiki 2 is too risky to use against bosses.

I know about Kotarou and i tried Sasuke and i must say his bomb shiki was really usefull at the beginning against bosses but dropped it later when fighting against Kintarou when it wasn't as damaging anymore and instead i spammed his uber hyperfire. Sasuke's fast movement made it a bit hard for me to avoid bullets but i got the hang of that after awhile. All in all Sasuke was a bit of letdown after someone in a faq said he was awesome >.<

it that is supposed to happen between the levels then i have never seen it v.v

Kuro-puppy - Story dialogue appears between stage and when you meet bosses.

It appears they are removed, aww, you're missing alot.

Like...

Alara Clan - Hello there boy, you like my body don't you?

Kotarou - Not interested.

Alara Clan - Oh, so you're into THAT, don't you?

Kotarou - I like girls but now it's time for justice!

The problem with Kim's Hyperfire is that it has no piercing ability like Sayo's.

Sasuke is a good character, just slightly boring.

I like Fumiko the most.
