jya nai is a negative

take:  "i'm a monster"
i'm a monster = watashi wa kaijuu desu..

add jya nai at the end it becomes: i'm not a monster.. :P
i'm not a monster = watashi wa kaijuu ja nai desu

I've been hearing this a lot of times... What does it mean when people call you "minna-san"?

-^^- lol, that's my little word... Minna means everyone or you all, and the -san means friends, so when I say "Ohiyo Minna-san!", I'm saying "Good morning everybody!"

Haha everyone mixes that up in my Japanese class
I remember on one of our worksheets we had to translate it was like, "Minna-san, Konban wa."
and everyone was like, "Good evening Minna!"

I just laughed at everyone...which I got a glare in return for.

Actually its spelled like this -> "Ohayou!"  for Good Morning.  ^^  Other than that you are completely correct.

I only know bits and pieces of Japanese, but have never figured
out what shite and shiteru mean.
I hear them so much, I feel like I should know already!
Can anyone tell me?

Your right, aishiteru does mean I love you and 'shiteru' is involved in it as if you are trying to emphasize a point like, "I KNOW I love you"  ...^^;;  Sorry, my japanese isn't the best but I try.

Shite is like 'do'...a form of the verb 'suru' - to do!  "Shite(shiteru)" means the present tense. "shite" means the past tense. "suru" means the progressive form. But this tense is meaningless. Because the ending words don't means tense now.

Umm...sorry if its wrong.  Gomen nasai minna-san...>.<;

What about plurals?
In CCS Meiling is saying strawberries, and it's ichigo.
It sounds like when they say strawberry or strawberries they still just say ichigo.
So is the plural a different word that they add?
