my brother had prek-6th grade before. no idea why. it was the school system when we lived elsewhere before moving to a new place to live. so he pretty much started off at 7th grade. lucky -.-" i wouldve done anything to stay in elementary for 6th grade. middle school seemed like hell when it started. o_O"

I just started school on Thursday. Oddly enough, my homeroom teacher was absent for Thursday and Friday because he was sick with the flu or something. I cannot understand my math teacher at all. She's pretty nice, but if you get her mad she's well yeah.... She says she hates arithmatic (like, long divsion and stuff like that) even though she's a math teacher. she's only gonna be teaching us algebra so I guess she's permitted to hate Arithmatic.

I'm about 12 now, and turning 13 in November.

Er, where I am, here is the system:

When you are 4 years old, you would be in JUNIOR Kindergarten.

When you are 5 years old, you would be in SENIOR Kindergarten.

6 yrs old: Grade 1 (NOT FIRST GRADE! I hate it when I go to the US and they ask me ((Since we go there for back-to-school shopping... argh)) what grade I go to. When I say Grade __ they always say, "oh, __GRADE? What the heck is Grade __!?" It gets me really mad. It's practically the same thing ((I don't have anything against the US or the people there))

7 yrs old: Grade 2

8 yrs old: Grade 3

9 yrs old: Grade 4

10 yrs old: Grade 5

11 yrs old: Grade 6 (THE END OF ELEMENTARY/JUNIOR SCHOOL) Total of: 8 years.

And then...

12 yrs old: Grade 7

13 yrs old: Grade 8 (END OF MIDDLE SCHOOL) Total of: 2 years

14 yrs old: Grade 9

15 yrs old: Grade 10

16 yrs old: Grade 11

17 yrs old: Grade 12 (END OF HIGH SCHOOL) Total of: 4 years.

Then college/university.

And uh, my age shall remain a secret *smile*

Sorry, not much of a hint, huh? Okay, here. How about this? My age is whatever you want it to be

I can be 3 years old if you want.

And school is starting up on the 6th... ohhh nooo... dang you school!!

Hmm...in Saanich School District, it's all pretty much the same as CherryandWolfLover's.
Age 3/4-4/5: Pre-school (You don't have to go for two years, but I did)
Elementary:
Age 5/6: Kindergarten, 6/7: Grade 1, 7/8: Gr. 2, 8/9: Gr. 3, 9/10: Gr. 4, 10/11: Gr. 5
Middle School:
Age 11/12: Grade 6, 12/13: Gr.7, 13/14: Gr.8
High School:
14/15: Gr.9, 15/16: Gr.10, 16/17: Gr.11, 17/18: Gr.12
And then, of course, University/Collage and such.
School starts on Sep. 7th, here. I'm not looking forward to that.

For my school system; and this also applies to what month you were born in; If you were born before August, you were sent back a year:

Preschool-4-5
Kindergarten-5-6
Grades 1-2 Stevenson School
Grades 3-5 Addison School
Grades 6-8 Junior High School (Middle School)
Grades 9-12 High School
And then college, where I'm at now and I'm going into my 4th year on Monday!

As for my age, I turned 22 in June!

I went to school up until my 3rd semester in my 9th grade year. They have 4 semesters or quarters and then my mom homeschooled me until I was 18 and usually graduation is in June, but I graduated in October. Mom held me back a year, but I studied hard and finally got caught up!
