This month? Oh right, of course there is E3 soon.
But I looked on Game Informer and several other gaming sites and found no news on this remake, care to provide a link for this article? otherwise 'finding a post on a forum' isn't very believable, if it were true, Great. But from what I know, Square-Enix have announced it's only a tech demo and have no intention to remake it, It was only a graphics test. I also found some news that they did a similar tech demo for FFVIII (the dance scene) for the PS2 before the PS2 was released but I was unable to find any other news to back it up.

According to a recent interview with Yoshitaka Amano, a famed artist and character creator for the Final Fantasy Series, FFXIII is already under production, even though FFXII just was released on the shelves of Japan. While FFXII faced numerous delays in its arrival, and has still not been released in the US or Europe, news that the game is in the works is certainly promising.

Since the debut of the original Final Fantasy, the series has sold millions of copies and generated a huge fan base as a result. Like the walkman and music, the Final Fantasy series has been branded as the ultimate RPG in its genre. In fact, it is hard to ask someone what their favorite RPGs of all time are, and not have at least one of the titles in the list.

No details about any aspect of the game were revealed, but most likely it will debut on the PlayStation 3 in the near future. Fans will simply have to settle for the long awaited FFXII to bide their time while waiting for a next generation Final Fantasy.

I believe you, i am so excited, why would they make a tech demo get everyone excited and miss out on one of the most money making remakes of a classic game SE could get? lol so i believe I really do and when it comes out I'm camping at Game stop for my reserved copy!! (when you get to reserve them xD)

anyway I bet this will make you think there is a remake, So I'll put this up just for kicks:
During an interview with the Japan Gaming Magazine "Dengeki Playstation", Yoshinori Kitase (Director of Final Fantasy VII) revealed a Final Fantasy title is in the works for the PS3.

With the recent denials that a remake of Final Fantasy VII is in the works for the PS3, serveral sites have speculated that this may be Final Fantasy XIII. To this speculation Kitase-san responded...

"As a hint, one thing I can say is that the FFVII technical PS3 demo was supervised by me and created by Toriyama-san (Main Director on Final Fantasy X-2) and his team staff. I'll leave it to you, but you can imagine that development is happening via a similar process."

if i were you i would hold back on the enthusiasm starpheonix since altough i remember seeing this marketingtrick been used before *saying that they won't make the game (even though they know every fan wants the game) and after a while suddenly decide to make it*
it doesn't guarantee that the game will be made

the chance that the remake will come is small but let's hope for it....

i want to play the most famous FF game *yes shame on me, i've never played any other FF game than X and the first two*

I agree, I've seen it done before also (it's been done to Music and Comics and Movies too)

Never thought about that before, But to me that would be a waste of a name for FFXIII. *groans* I havn't even gotten my ugly lil mits on FFXII yet, and I'm not dishing out a monthly fee for FFXI.

I already have a monthly subscription to a different MMORPG, so having two is worthless.. or should I say Pointless. I did play it before it was released over here at a Games Convention in London tho, On a LAN Network, that was amusing.

It was only LAN because it wasn't even released in America when I played it. It was a Local Area Network, A total of 12 computers linked together.

because I was at a Gaming Convention. It's basically a huge arena in London where for 2-3 days you can play and test out the games before they are released, They had games like SSX3, ZOE2, FFXI, DBZ B3, Halo 2. All of them I played before they were released.
