New FUNimation Licenses

As many of you know, FUNimation sent C&D letters to a popular anime torrents site and Shinsen Subs through their domain hosts. In the letters, it seems that they have got new licenses for Solty Rei (Origin), Tsubasa (TRC) and Black Cat. However, FUNi has not made any official announcement on this matter yet.

I heard about this the other day. I went to their official site and I didn't see anything about the new licensed shows either. It's strange...

In the February issue of Anime Insider, FUNimation has announced the R1 license to both Production I.G's XXXHolic/Tsubasa feature film and Bee Train's Tsubasa Chronicles TV series. No mention has yet been made of Tsubasa's second season or the XXXHolic TV series yet.

I heard they registered www.Tsubasa.tv but they STILL havent put anything up.
*sigh* at least they dont have holic yet.
Theyre soooooo going to have Sakura with an american accent and Syaoran just sounding weird. Kurogane's gonna sound like a DBZ character >.> and mokona... well they might pull off mokona and fai. I think they're going to have the most trouble with Sakura. And I dont even want to think about the dialogue *shudder*

Tell me about it, oh the PAIN of their Yu Yu Hakusho dub (one of my old fandoms). I first I was overjoyed at the thought of Yu Yu Hakusho being available in the US (I mean before that all we had those AWFUL Hong Kong Subs, that kept mixing up Kurama and Hiei and Yusuke's "Spirit Pill"  :rotfl:)

But once I heard the show...eh...I suppose it's little inconsistencies that get you, you know? Different interpretations of things (in some ways blatant changing of a characters past). I'm willing to give it a chance (I suppose that's just default thanks for anime/manga being available in English over here) but I gotta tell ya, I don't have the best hope  -_-

kuro_woof saw an ep from the dubbed Tsubasa, and she found it painfull, Fai sounded weird, Syaoran's voice was lower than that of Fai, Mokona wasn't cute anymore, she didn't say anything about Kurogane and Sakura (and i don't wanna know)

if they get their hands on XXXholic, it's gonna be a disaster! :sweatdrop:

as much as i loath it... I WANNA SEE I WANNA SEE! Do you know where I can get it? O.o I have a strange thing about wanting to hear the voices in different languages. Its worse with songs, I love hearing the original and the dubbed songs - even if the translation is crap... yea a little weird. lol. Guess I'll just wait and see. Who's doing the voices by the way?

I utterly take back what I just said. there are tsubasa fandubs up on youtube *shudder* so wrong, and I doubt FUNi will do any better.

Funi has had their bad times, but look at the other Anime they have subbed and dubbed, FMA, Furuba,
So maybe they have gotten better. Yes their old labels, DBZ was S****, but its was no better then DIC's and CLOVER Way's Sailor Moon, just be thankful Funi's has TC and XXXholic, then Nervana and other bad companies alike.

Hmm...I really have confidence that Funimation's going to do a good job with this. I was very pleased with their Spiral dub and like Smile_For_Me said, they did FMA, and that was very good.

The dubbing companies are starting to take a lot more care into what they do because they know that the anime market and the demand for good quality dubbing (and manga transtlations) is growing. I don't think Fun is gonna let me down.

Re-checkout their newer stuff and you might be surprised. ^_^

Thank You Bearmoon, your not disen Funi, heads up, TRC Anime should come out in America this Fall, from what I was told, I will try to find who the voice actors will be as soon as I can find out.
