Chapter 1: Goodbye Onii-chan
(by moonprincess18, added on 2006-04-23 10:03:36 AEST) [Discussion Topic]

The sun rose above the trees, its rays gently touching the earth below. Underneath a cherry blossom tree, in full bloom, stood two girls standing at a grave, dressed in the traditional ebony clothing. Despite the beauty surrounding them; despair and sorrow clouded in their hearts. Especially in a young brunette, her usual emerald eyes red from crying ever since his death. She couldn’t accept the fact that he was dead, and it made her want to cry even more thinking about it. She’d never be the same again.

“Sakura-chan.” Tomoyo said softly voice, a hand placed upon the girl’s shoulder being her out of the painful thoughts swarming over her head like bees.

“It’s time to go.” She added, tugging on Sakura’s shoulder in the direction they needed to go.

“I…can’t leave him, Tomoyo-chan” She said; tears threatening to slide down her face.

“But we have to, Sakura-chan. If we don’t, you’re going to be here all night.” Tomoyo protested hating the thought of her dear friend standing outside beside her brother’s grave during the night, just starting at it. Tomoyo shivered inside at the thought.

Sakura nodded in reply, deciding it was best to follow her friend. Maybe she’d feel better if she wasn’t staring down at the grave anymore. Although that didn’t stop her from thinking about it, about how he died. She wasn’t strong enough to save him.

She was never strong as a Card captor, and now this. It crushed her mentally and physically. As the two continued to walk, she turned her eyes back at the lone grave. “Goodbye, Onii-chan… “She whispered, letting the words get carried away within the petals of cherry blossom petals.

He had put up a brave fight. Sakura had been walking home from visiting Tomoyo’s two weeks ago, humming happily to herself. They had a grand time cooking and laughing with each other. She had stayed well into the afternoon and decided once it became dark to head home. Tomoyo had offered to take her, but Sakura denied the offer. The beautiful spring night was wonderful, and she couldn’t past it up. Although she had no idea that her actions would come out as they had. It wasn’t a stupid thing to do, walking out at night when no-one else to come and protect you. Of course, she wasn’t aware of it. Tomoeda was usually known for being a decently safe place.

Just as Sakura had reached home, a drunken stranger creped out from the shadows. His eyes lingered at Sakura’s young figure; lust swimming within his glaze. Sakura screamed out of fear; especially when the stranger had advanced toward her. She struggled to get away, but he was carrying a knife.

He made threats to stab her with it, so she had no choice but to give in. She cried and screamed until he had covered her mouth. That’s when her brother came, when they were both laying on the pavement; the man’s body looming over Sakura’s, haft naked. Touya grew angry and threw the man away from his sister. Once the man put his pants back on (or tried to), and they began to fight. Even though Sakura’s brother was taller and stronger even, but it wasn’t enough in the long run. They fought long and hard, and just when Sakura thought it might have ended, the drunken man noticed he had dropped the knife used to rip at Sakura’s clothes previously.

He bent down and picked it up, as Touya tried to catch his breathe. The man lurched at Touya and stabbed him right in the chest. Blood instantly spend down Touya’s clothing making the fabric completely red as it dripped down creating a small puddle which he collapased in, groaning in pain. His face was pale, and twisted, and that’s when Sakura knew he wasn’t going to make it. The man crackled evilly before leaving the scene. But he didn’t have much of a chance, when the police arrived. Their father had called, watching the scene from inside the house. They took care of the man, and he was sent away in the police car. Touya was sent to the hospital, but he died on the way there.

He hadn’t died in vain, but it didn’t feel that way to Sakura when she stared down at the blood stain when it all happened once she and Tomoyo had come back to her house. Her heart was heavy, and she didn’t know when the pain would go away. Maybe someday, but the memory of her brother would stay with her forever.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It had a few weeks since Sakura visited Touya's grave, and she couldn't get the depressing feelings out of her system. She did visit Syaoran, and he gave her comfort (more like a makeout session, but anyhow..). She stood inside the shower, feeling the warm water touching her skin. Why didn't the rapist kill her instead? Why did her brother have to die? It was all her fault anyway that he was killed. She just stood there and watched them fight without doing anything. Maybe if she had done something she could be hearing her dear brother knocking on the bathroom door and telling her that she needed to hurry up. However, no sound came.

She couldn't bare to sit around downstair discussing memories of Touya with her father. Despite downing himself in his work more then usual, something they would sit and talk about him. It was more then her heart could bare. Lifting her hand, she glanced down at the ravor that her fingers curled around. I'm going to join you in heaven, dear brother.. She thought while rising the ravor closer and closer to her throat.

She pressed the blades hard down against her skin, clinging as she slide ever so slightly. She pressed harder causing blood to trickle down. It stung when the water touched it, but she didn't care. Sakura didn't hear the door opening and in stepped Syaoran, gasping to see Sakura cutting herself. Why did he come in the bathroom? Well, for one thing, the door wasn't locked and he thought no-one was in here. His face turned crimson at the sight of Sakura's naked figure, but shook his head while approaching the glass door and lightly tapping on it.

Sakura turned at the sound, looking into Syaoran's sweet brown concerned eyes. She lowered the ravor from her neck and turned off the water. Sliding the door open, she collapsed into Syaoran's arm and wept. Syaoran wrapped his arms around her, embracing her heavily and let her cry. He knew that she was depressed over her brothers death.. and it upset him when he couldn't do anything for her. Because of this, he began to cry too and they wept together.
