Help with html/webpage designing

Right, for those who read my LJ, they should know what my current dilemma is. For those who didn't, here's the situation:

My friend forcibly entered me in a webpage designing quiz bee, where we are to be pitted against various schools. Trouble is, the html knowledge I have is only that of basic font styles and colors, image linking, etc... I need to have, well, deeper knowledge of the subject. If anyone can teach me/point me to a very helpful html tutor site/replace me, then I'd be eternally grateful.

What type of stuff are you looking at. Like you, I got suck in a competion but it was my teachers who did it to me >_>.  What types of things are they testing. At my competion, it was: XHTML, CSS, HTML, PHP, FLASH, and tons more. I can help, just tell me what you need ^____^
