Sad Anime

Movies: Samuri X OVA's: I never cryed so much in my life,
X the movie: I saw TB and fell in love then I saw X, this was my frist anime movie I cryed at, then I bought the manga
The Fire Child and the Sea Prince, Its old, but I recommend it, if anyone can find it that is

Anime: X the TV: Come on people that is so sad,
Sailor Moon: One of the best, the frist anime I cryed with,
Weiss Kruze OVA and Gluhen.......

Kaze to Ki no Uta. Never in my life will I EVER see anything half as sad as that. It's awful, and I cried for two weeks. TWO WEEKS. It was SO sad, my heart ached and I felt nauseus after I saw it/read it for the first time. Even now when I read/watch it, I get a tingly sad feeling in my stomach and chest! >_<

But so far, yeah, Kaze to Ki no Uta is the saddest anime/manga I've ever seen... well, that, and as has already been said, X and Tokyo Babylon. The X TV anime was VERY sad, if not anywhere near as powerful as the manga, and I'm sure whenever CLAMP finishes the X manga it will make me bawl like a baby too. So I'll put it on my list pre-emptively.

And just so it's out in the open, I HATED the X movie. Nothing against you, Smile_For_Me, but I just can't stand it. It's the one anime of CLAMP I will never buy. Yeah, the ending was sad, but it was about the only semi-worthwhile thing in the whole pile of droppings. And IT was ruined by the fact that it was so anticlimactic. I've seriously had people tell me they LAUGHED at the ending, it was so anticlimactic and bad. </off-topic rant>

Yeah, but seeing it for the first time, Only knowing what TB was then comes along X the Movie with Subaru in it and he died...I was really sad, then I grew to like Kamui, Kotori and Fumma then the sad ending, I just like to think as the movie as another world TRC has yet to cross in, if it wasn't for the movie, that water guy would have never been born, pluse I saw the movie when I was what, 14?

For me: Candy Candy and Grave of Fireflies.
Well, maybe it's not a sad ending for Candy...
At least she finally met Uncle William and her first love.
But Candy Candy do have many sad times and I cried quite a lot...

Is it a manga or anime or what? I wanna see why you two seem to find it so sad.

Kaze to Ki no Uta is a tragic old-school shounen-ai; it was one of the first, if not the first, shounen-ai. It tells the story of boarding school roommates Serge and Gilbert. Gilbert has a lot of emotional issues and is a very messed up person, and the story is basically Serge befriending and then falling in love with Gilbert and attempting to help him. There are 17 volumes in the manga and an OVA.

I'll have a look about for it then *adds it to his list of mangas to read/animes to watch*

although the Shounen-Ai within a Boarding School sounds really familiar, I might of seen a few images of it already.. or maybe the boarding school Idea just got popular.. hm.

What? the anime version of Marmalade Boy is sad? BUt the manga version it's happy right? I thought that they turned out not to be siblings and they ended up together. So how did the anime go??

Hmm...Saddest ever, you say?

Anime: Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist (I think I cried over the last fifteen episodes), Wolf's Rain

Manga: Bleach (so many sad character histories...

), Tokyo Babylon and the parts where Subaru's story crosses over into X -- not that X doesn't have more than its fair share of sad moments, but those ones in particular get to me since there's an entire series behind them, and Land of the Blindfolded (Again with sad character histories...)

Air was a pretty sad anime, even though I never completely got it... It really got me crying. I wanted to re-watch it so see if I'd understand more of it the 2nd time but I never did. ^^;
I've also heard a lot about FMA having a sad ending, but I haven't seen it yet. And Full Moon Wo Sagashite had a nice ending, but it was still sad...

As for manga's, Pita-Ten had an awfully sad ending. It wasn't a bad ending, just really sad.
