Topic: Change to the Chains Board (Read 14268 times)

Hi Everyone,

After discussing this with Little Wolf, we have decided to restrict the chain board a little.

From now on, only Great Fans (200+ posts) can access the chain board.

Hopefully, this will encourage new members to become active forum citizens
(IE: posting in other forums first, rather then spending almost all their time in the chain board)

It's a pretty good idea!
By that time people will hopefully understand to follow the rules better.

That's okay... 200 isn't too far away. ^^;; I wasn't that active in chains board to begin with, so I'll survive without it until then.

Could it maybe be dropped down to 100 posts? A lot of people already post regularly, if not a lot, so it's not fair to them. Case Study: Pikari

You know, I didn't realize that.
Pikari posts so many wonderful posts in the rp's and has given a lot of time and effort by putting up the manga translations and such......seems silly not to be able to post to chains. Too bad it can't be changed to how Long you've been a member, not how many posts you have.

I think 200 is a fair number. Some of the people who post there have half of their posts there. There's a whole other world in this forum besides the chain board. Take General Media for example...(VERY CHEAP PLUG!!!)

The Chain Board is a place where just about anything goes however the post count is turned off. In recent times, poeple only hang out there and go nowhere else in the forum, thus the new rule was implimented to have members take part in the other areas of this wonderful place. When they have posted enough then they have earned the right to participate in the chain board.

This is a good change.

Pikari, if you keep on doing your good posts then you'll reach 200 in no time.

Touya-kun, well it will be unfair if half of the board's total posts are from the Chains board. We don't want people registering just to go there.

As I said before...life can be unfair. The idea of people joining the forum is to share their thoughts, stories and part of themselves with everyone here. To come just to hide in one section and post meaningless things to me is very counter-productive. I see the Chain Boards as a reward for posting and being dedicated to the whole forum. Some may think 200 posts is a bit but trust me...you start posting here and there and in less than a month, you'll have those 200. No problem.

I still got over 100 posts, but I know I will get there eventually
Also I think the idea is fair because from my exprince in past forums it seems that a few members want to stay in a particular forum to access hiden features.

Can't believe I didn't realize this until now, but I agree. The point of this forum is to get to know people and make a name for yourself! I know I wouldn't have love this forum so much if it wasn't for the wonderful people I met here! Ganbatte to all the newbies!
