So many of us make AMV's and for people to find them, they have to go through all the topics to find the various links and topics that people have made.
I'm thinking that if we had a specific section where the AMV's could be listed by Member name, all tidy with the links there it would be easy to find.
And when a member made a new one, they could enter it in and it would appear on their list of videos under their name.
They could also tell what song they used, how big it is, and whatever else they wanted.
Is this possible?

But do people want it (and will use it) that is the question.
So anyone else interested in this idea?

I love the idea! I put up loadsof vids, and it would be so much easier if we all had one place to find all our vids....but would it be ok for yousendit files, or would we have to upload to somewhere?

The problem with Yousendit is that it only last 25 downloads or 1 week, whichever comes first. We need something to host the videos spermanently.

And a lot of people have trouble with it.
Every file I download from there quits and says complete after a couple megabytes.
I use http://rapidshare.de
They have a file limit of 50 mbs.
That's big enough for most videos.
They also don't take them off unless they haven't been downloaded at all after 30 days.
So, if it's getting close to 30 days and there hasn't been a download, all you have to do is go click on your video links and it will count as a download and it won't be taken off.
I find it a lot easier than yousendit.

I was just thinking, would anyone have any objections to using torrents in conjunction with this idea?

For me, it depends on how big they are.
I have nothing against torrents, just that I'm on dialup. *cries*

Yeah, the problem is the file size. there should also be a file size limit.

hm...I'm thinking of making the system now. (need something to put in my resume :D ) It would be really cool. The problem, yes, is the file hosting. Like SLi suggested, we could have it in torrent. But I'm thinking of giving other options too like using yousendit instead. The system is pretty straight-forward anyway so it shouldn't be too hard to create (I hope)...

I think as long as the videos are under 50 megabytes that would be small enough. That's about a five hour download for me at night.
That would probably double in time though for torrent.
Most videos seem to be under 30, but you start getting into not so good quality if you get too small. Unless someone knows a good way to keep quality and still have a small filesize?

I can't make my files into torrents, but I have nothing against downloading them. I can't wait for the system!

I have not given up on it yet.. I know it isn't easy but I really like challenges and this is something new. As far as I know, no one has bothered making a system like this yet. Not counting AMV.org, that is... because that's for ALL animes. Anyway, I'm still just starting work on it. :wink:

good idea about the AMV section, i also make some AMV of tsubasa and Sakura... most of them about the love between sakura and my cute syaoran ...

I think that it is a lovely Idea. I downloaded some AMVs from somewhere on the site, but now that I watched them I can't find them again to leave comments. It would be really helpful if they were all together. :keke:
