Kobato is a sweet, perky, cute girl but also extremely naive about the world around her. She has a "mission" to fill her mysterious bottle with people's hearts she heals so her wish to go a certain place can be granted. However, the restriction is that she is not allowed to fall in love with any person whose heart she heals. As Kobato attempts to fulfill her mission, she is accompanied by Ioryogi, a spirit in the form of a dog plushie. Because Ioryogi is responsible for a punishment that has been applied to him and his friends from the spiritual world, he must guide Kobato and ensure that she succeeds her mission and his friends might return to their true form.

This is the discussion thread for Kobato. A total of six books in the series, four have been released in the United States by Yen Press as well as a 24 episode anime series in Japan.

I thought it was a fine little series.  The story kept me intrigued enough to watch from the begininng to the end.  The dramatic moments of the show was effective in stirring emotions.  And the humour wasn't all too terrible, except maybe a yawn here or there.

Watched the first 4 episodes and enjoying it almost as much if not more than the manga series.

Finally should wrap up watching the anime by this week. Only thing I hope it won't show is spoilers on how it ends since the manga series is not completed in the U.S.

I do like the intricate crossovers with Wish and Chobits though the exact timing within the CLAMP Universe is definitely up to debate.

Excellent series. The manga and anime endings are slightly different but the meaning is stil the same.
