i died watching it.. it was horrifying, disgusting and i felt so much like puking.. i have to admit it's funny but it's making fun of our CCS!!!! what are your views on it..

It was damn funny, I think those people making the video was trying to make people laugh.
I have nothing wrong with people acting and doing re-makes of the video, but haha! a boy as Sakura? they should at least have a pretty young girl as Sakura.

In a sense, it's more promoting the show than it is ruining it, since either way the video would only appeal to people who've actually seen CCS in the first place. I doubt anyone without experience with the show would care to watch it.

I genuinly think that that is thier attempt at cosplay and a fan made video.

Yeah, that's what I thought, too. Not to mention this video is made by the Japanese....I doubt they would make this video to make fun of people who liked one of Japan's most popular shoujo anime....this is supposed to be a parody. It's all meant to be tongue-in-cheek and shouldn't be taken personally. But I saw this video a long time ago and I thought it was great. It's amazing how accurate they got even if it was all guys. Does anyone know where I can get those school uniforms at....? ^^;;

Yes, this video is pretty old, but I still find it incredibly funny XD And while I could see why someone could find it disgusting, I bet those guys did it for fun and, as most people said, simply to make people laugh. I myself did sort of a parody of TRC for a cosplay contest, since my boyfriend and I went as Sakura and Syaoran, and we said that in the last feather, Sakura will regain a memory of 300$ she lent Syaoran ^^uUu We intentionally "ruined" a very romantic scene, but of course, it was on purpose. If you go to Anime connventions then there will be loads of people cosplaying as Sakura. Not sure about international con's, but in UK conventions there are alot of people "cross playing" to show how much they like the character of the oposite gender. I mean from the costumes you saw in the video you can see they worked hard on making them like cosplayers do. No one will work hard making a really lovely costume if they really hate the anime. Also in the video they did try to make it kinda close to the original opening, but it's impossible because no human can really fly or have the movements of Anime characters, but like some people say no matter how stupid the video looks, thats what fans do to show they like CCS. I mean if they were really making fun of CCS, then they will at least do something such as put something which implies "CCS must die" or something like that in the video.

anyway my take on the video.. i don't think those guys are fans o CCS.. fans of CCS won;t do such a thing!!! ok i'm rather disturbed and amazed at how people would spend time doin such a thing.. s true CCS would not downgrade CCS like that.. (i feel that the video's downgrading it.. my opinion.)

again, i dont think people who ARENT fans would take the time to work on the choreography to mimic the actions and make those outfits. the outfit that dude is wheraring is almost exactly like sakura's. yes its a wierd thing to watch, but its not to make fun of the show. doesnt it usualy cost $100's to make perfect cosplay outfits?
i mean seriously, I myself LOATH the show Yu gi oh...you dont see me making a costume and dressing like Yugi and mimiking the movements to make a short film on youtube...do you? XP

i would wanna downgrade something i don't like the way they did but not to the extend of spending the $$ on the costumes.. but then again if they are flithy rich i guess a few $100 doesn't matter.. i don't know if they are rich or not just making an assumption here

also, inorder to perfect the costumes and copy the coreography...wouldnt that mean you have to watch the show over and over and over, staring contsantly at the things...that be torture if tyou hate the show! XP

I consider that Rewrite music video worst than this CCS one. The costumes were horrible... but I admit, the fight scenes were nicely done.
I also think this CCS video is ok. It's funny and really not meant to insult CCS fans at all... in fact, when I watched it, I also thought that it was a bunch of CCS fans having fun. I don't think people who are not fans would make such videos...

If this video was meant to be insulting to CCS fans, why aren't there more people offended by it? So far only a few people have been offended by it but most CCS fans either don't really care or think it's funny in a "we're laughing with you; not at you" way. Also, in Japan CCS is watched more by little girls than older anime fans due to their different cultural views of what's acceptable for children's programming. Why would the Japanese create this video to insult the litle girls in Japan who watch CCS? And I was just wondering but why do you think it's a slap in the face to CCS fans, anyway? Do you have something against crossdressers or homosexuals?

Yeah true, I mean I wouldn't mind making my own CCS video, but I don't know how to sew, make costumes or have a video camera at all.
Now I wonder if someone on this forum does the same thing as those Japanese people in the video, will the same comments be thrown at them?

i've got nothing against crossdressers. I think its cute.
but that was just...strange. if they hadn't gone to such lengths, I'd say they were making fun of it all. and for crossdressers, they weren't trying very hard to hide their masculinity.

While the video is wrong, cross dressing isn't... trust me.. I... err... have done it for a few anime conventions with my girlfriend before..... :XD:
We also need to remember that japanese youth are VERY different from other country's, what they may find humerous, we may find insulting. What they find as funny may be down-right annoying to us.
So to me the video is wrong, but at least those kids are so obessed they are willign to do THAT to show how addicted they are :tongue3:

Considering this video came out in 1998, yes, that was when it was 1st made, it was ment for fun, and no harm, besides, I showed this to a guy friend, he laughed so hard I'd thought he'd wet himself, then I showed him the anime version on it, after that, he was hooked.
Now, like me, he likes everything of CLAMP, and then some.
People have their own oppions on things, and if you have a closed mind to what others do or think. Think about it, besides, this is a fun posting toppic.

My comments about the video are what I feel about it...my opinions. Whether you agree or disagree is up to each and every one of you. The majority seem to enjoy it and that's fine. There's a few that felt it wasn't to their liking and that's fine as well. In my post did I not direct my comments to anyone...only the video. I wish CT and the n00b stuck to that. Instead the two directed their comments toward me and put a damper on this thread.
Please...love it or hate it, direct the comments toward the video and discuss without questioning whether people have something against crossdressing and the such. That's all I ask.

Hahaha. I just watched it. I thought it was really funny! Though I think it's really more of a parody than it is bashing of CCS, though that's just how I perceived it myself. I mean, I used to be absolutely obsessed with Lord of the Rings, and I made fun of it all the time because I loved it. Anyway, I thought it was funny. >_>
The best part was the beginning, though, when they dropped the cherry blossom petal and you could see the guy's other shoe on the ground as he 'hovered' above it. LOL and the guy in the Kero suit!

Not horrifying at all. I loved this when I first saw it. They did such a good job tring to get all of the poses and camera angels and everything .Its very cute and commend them for their hard work!

It wasn't too long ago a woman in pants was scandalous. And even the men of ancient Greek, Egypt and Rome pranced around in what, regardless of what they were called, were nothing less than dresses. And, like Emiko said, it's just clothes, it has absolutely nothing to do with biological gender. Why be disturbed? Especially when it's "just for fun".
