You guys should add a members pictures section where members can post up their pics if they want! also you should have a member of the month thread every month where its a vote type thing and all the members vote on the member of the month! just some thoughs :P

Its a pretty good idea, but the practicability is low. The pictures take a lot of bandwidth, and this directly eats up the site's space. So...maybe another way ...

First of all, I don't oppose on that idea. But I do agree with Lumizstar, it does take up space on the forum's bandwidth.

Since space/bandwidth falls into my control (since I host the site), I will think on this and make my decision.

can't you just host the images on a imagehosting site that the user submitting the picture can use. then it wouldn't be using Your bandwith,... or will it ?

but if pictures are removed from the remote host, it causes problems when people view the topic (missing images). anyway I'm still thinking, so just wait :D

first off, what do you mean by member's pics? Are they supposed to be actual pictures of the members here in real life/offline?
I've already thought of putting member of the month here so yes, I'll implement it one of this days... I suppose there will be nominations and an election for that. :)

yeah real pictures of the members...we've done it on some other forums and its gone over really good.....btw hosting is the best way to do it! if you dont have anywhere to host pictures from go here!

Why not just make a thread, then link to the images from the outside?
Lots of boards have a thread like this. In fact, I'm going to make one now. I'll take care of the hosting for the images, and... ah hell, I forgot that I couldn't edit other people's posts. BAH. Well, anyways, I'll just host the images, and I'll make sure to make it very clear on the first post that no one is allowed to upload images via the forum's uploading server.

anyway, yeah a thread would do but that's different from the member of the month thingy which I was talking about. :)

Your idea is interesting, maybe we can just post the link of the pictures to save some space. And for teh one's who don,t respect that, there will be an advertissement, just the first time. You have a great imagination, but for teh one's who don,t want, i hope it's not an obligation :sweatdrop:

I don't see a practical use for a members picture forum. If someone wants to know what another member looks like in real life, they can send them a picture. I like to talk it up in the forums but prefer to keep my real life a seperate thing from my online persona :wink:

I don't really want a pic of the real me up....it ruins the point of internet forums....what I mean is, some people might not talk to some1 because he or she isn't that good looking...it happens.
I agree, if u wnat some1 to know wat u really look like, send a pic over the messaging system.

Seriously, I also want to keep my offline life private and separate from my online life. Actually, I think I like my internet life more than my real world life now. Weird, isn't it? But it's the truth. :)

In tncw (the non-computer world) it's hard to find people in which you have a lot in common.
For those of us who don't enjoy real world small chit chat, and want to talk about something we really love, the computer world is a really big part of our life!

and yea, Internet IS LIFE XD
irl (in real life) i don't know anyone else who likes CCS so i talk about it here too, plus i like to let people know what i look like when they talk to me... dunno why
