Post by: moezychan on August 22 2005, 11:37 pm: I've visited websites on CCS and when regarding the first movie, the answer is almost always the same: the movie was pointless and a complete waste of time. I started this poll to see whether people like the movie, didn't like it, or they are unsure. Please vote and then explain why you chose your answer, or you can just simply vote since it's anonymous, but if you state your answer, please explain why, and don't simply say, "It s**ks."

I'll go first; I like the first movie because it shows Syaoran's background more and IMO Yelan gives him the incentive to like Sakura more.

I think it's okay.

I think that it could have been better, but all in all it wasn't bad.

I'm a S&S shipper so it's not that I didn't like the movie, but it was more like, I would have liked to see more S&S in it, but for example when my brothers saw it (one of them have never even seen the anime or read the mange) they both liked it very much because you could see a story from beginning to end, I mean you did not need to have a background knowledge (except maybe the basis) to enjoy this movie.

i think it was a good movie.. we saw new characters o.O we learn more about that part.. but... i wish the movie had more moments.. but i KNOW it's not the time to have more n.<

Post by: Ruby Chan on September 01 2005, 06:40 am: It was fine, for where it was at the time......between the first and second season. The only reason people think badly of it is because they watched the third season, and the second movie, then looked back at the first movie.

Of course, it had none of the complex plots and S+S that they were now accustomed too, so people grew disappointed with it.

The pacing of the movie was kind of slow and I didn't like how they crammed in all the good action scenes there near the end. I was also disappointed that we didn't get to see more of China, like I thought it would have been neat if Sakura went to other places, like the Great Wall of China or something. Pretty much all we got to see in Hong Kong was Bird Street, a resturaunt, some banks and that's it. >< I also didn't think there was enough Sakura x Shaoran moments and the movie lacked humor. It's not like there wasn't any jokes in the movie. It's just like all the jokes they had were ones we've seen already a thousand times throughout the series already and they just weren't as funny, either. But the first movie did have good animation and music, I liked meeting Shaoran's family for the first time, and I really liked the ending, but that was pretty much all that I liked about it.

I thought I was going to love the first movie as a massive CCS fan, but I thought that the ending needs abit more work because it was kind of confusing.

Plus we were introduced to Syaoran's family. *:lol: His crazy sisters!* But, being the S+S fan that I am, I think that there seriously should've been more S+S moments or just more of Syaoran :sweatdrop: *You barely get to see him for fifteen minutes in the WHOLE movie >_<*

Especially now after watching Movie 2, it certainly isn't my favourite movie, yet it's still worth watching every now and then.

It showed Li's family, plus there was the typical card capturing, then the mystery of the woman in Sakura's dream and why she was looking for Clow Reed........The movie had a good plot and all in all, it was a great movie. :wink:

I can't think for the life of me where I heard it, or read it, but either in the CCS manga, or a CCS drama, Sayoran said his father had passed away when he was young.
if anyone would like to clear that one up for me, I'd like to know.
