haven't seen the ending of the manga yet, hell I haven't even seen the beginning part of the manga (on have volumes 1 to 5 of Master of the Clow).

but so far, I prefer the Anime more then the manga

Hmm.. I can't really decide.

The anime version has many beautiful songs and the japanese seiyyus did a great job and gave life to the various characters. Yet the anime did not tell the whole story. There were still some unanswered questions and that's when the manga came in. The manga tells a more detailed storyline and characters' personality.

 :unsure: really can't decide...

I think my vote goes to manga cause the storyline is more detailed.

Definately a tough choice. The manga storyline was better. Kero also cracked some really funny jokes and Yue's blank stares were priceless. But then the anime - "Emotion in motion" as someone so eloquently put it. How's a girl to choose? :cry:

And let's not forget Mei Ling (but I did - how ironic :unsure:) who can only be found in the anime. That was my only complaint about the manga. OK I have to say anime. :okay:

0.o Hm.. I think the manga has better drawings, and somehow, the ending is more suitable, like some of you have said. But anime different in terms of it includes songs, motion pictures, voice-overs, etc. I think the song part of CCS was really good. But....still I like the comic ^^

I liked the manga's ending because it's ended the story more romantically in my opinion. The 70th CCS anime episode is okay too but I would have loved to see the ending in the manga animated. But both of them are really good endings. :D

But anyway, I voted Anime because I prefer watching the characters animated. :okay:

Hmm... there are some things in the anime i don't like... just one teeny weeny itsy bitsy thing. They missed out the part that Sakura's father, Fujitika, was half of the reincarnation of Clow! GA!!! But still. I like the anime a little bit more, i like characters alive and real.

In the anime they cut out a few essential things like:

*Why Sakura's sealing wand was girlish (they explained this in the manga)
*Why Li didn't like Mizuki-sensei but Sakura went "hanyaan" around her
*Why the clowbook was in Fujitaka's study in the first place

and the ending! OMG, I love the ending. So this goes to MANGA!

-^^- I wont say anything. I hate the fact that I have only read TRC 1 and 2, and ppl are talking 'bout Sakura kissing Syaoran and what not.... ><;;; sorry, off topic...

Yeah, it seems alot of animes never get some of the important or extremely popular side stuff that they had in the manga.
That makes me a sad endoh.

I'd have to say Anime, I just like seeing things in motion, and music ^^ I also thought Mei-ling was a nice touch too. But I like the Manga ending better, it seemed so much more mature and adorable. *swoons*

1. i'm short-sighted
2. i can flip back and forth easily
3. i like to observe the style of the drawing & obviously the manga is more detailed than the anime~ :)

Sakura's wand.. is girly... cos she is a girl, as Okamirei said... well...

Clow knew that Sakura would be the next mistress and person to capture her, and he made it girly because of this. If he hadn't, and a boy [ie. Syaoran] would be the next master, then i don't think he would approve of a pink wand...

The manga to me is slightly better. No Mei-Lin or redundant cards...just the original 18 plus the ending to the story was handled way better than the anime ;)

I prefer the anime version myself.  I thought the anime started off more exicitingly than the manga, some scenes are just better done in the anime I think, I liked the inclusion of Meilin, and I thought the anime's ending was better (I love the Sealed Card movie!), so it's the anime for me, although I still love the manga a lot.  There are other reasons why I like the anime more, but it's too much for me to type up. ^^;;

I like the anime the best, it seemed to have lots of action that a manga can't express. Sure, Melin was kind of annoying at times but it was someone to add in for comedy sense. Now I depart =p *flies off*

I don't know.....the manga has some great bits which didn't make it to the anime, but it didn't have Meilin either...

I think I prefer the anime, because the music and great voice actors really brought it to life!

I'm pretty indifferent too, but I usually discover the anime before the manga, well, because I live in North America, and manga is hard to find. I also love music, and so watching anime gets me to listen to music that fits the situation.

In terms of art style and storyline? Well, the manga is obviously more detailed, and the storyline may seem a little rushed and unbalanced at times.

I still perfer anime, but manga is good with the art style, and story line, while anime is there for action, music, and just the fact that your favourite manga characters are talking and walking ^^

Hey most of you are refering to a nice ending in the CCS manga. I haven't read the manga. So is the ending different from what it is in the Anime? What happens?

S.Espoire: yes the anime and manga both have similar yet different storylines/endings thats just the way it is. The anime is only *based* upon the manga (same goes for TRC)

In the manga, Syaoran leaves on a train. Touya takes Sakura to the station, and they exchange bears through the window as the train starts to leave. Syaoran swears that he'll return, Years later, Syaoran comes back, holding Sakura's bear, and teels Sakura that there won't be any more phone calls or letters. Then the two hug!

Is that good enough for you S.Espoire?

i love the manga! i love reading them over and over!!!!!! (well at least the ones i got!)

BUT!!!!! theres nothing like watching sakura and syaoran in full colour on big screen! its SOO great!! JUST the action, the colour, sound effects! moooOD of the whole thing!! its very very different from reading ure manga by ureself quiety!!

lol!!!!! though ccs and trc are sooooooo goood!!!! i want the whole collection in anime and manga!

Me too, um, did I say manga, I meant anime, yeah, anime! *nervous chuckle*

Actually I like both for their different reasons. Firstly, there was waaaaaaaaay more S x S stuff in the anime than the manga, at least to my understanding, and also Syaoran seemed funny, and he also collected cards in the anime whereas he didnt in the manga! Also, there were more cards meaning more COSTUMES! *cough* Okay, not all the time, but still. And I also thought Syaoran/Kero-chan/Touya was more hilarious in the anime than the manga

Manga wise, the Yukito/Sakura stuff was more indepth to me, not to mention the ending was waaaaay cuter as well. To me, the message seemed like they were destined, ya know, like no matter where you are or how long it takes i'll still love you, type of message. XD The anime was sweet too, except I thought the ending for the movie annoyed me! Being the hardcore fan I am, I wanted to know what happens next! But the ending didn't seem that bad, I mean, it was cute, but I really did want to see if Syaoran would actually catch her >.< *nerdy* Also, they explain some other things that are not mention in the manga, like, how Fujitaka, Sakura's dad, is the other half of Clow Reed, that Kaho and Eriol really do love each other, and Rika-san and Terada-sensei are 'engaged'. <---highlight to read spoilers.

All in all, the manga and anime both rock, since they both have their own special traits. But looking at my erm, list, I think I perfer the anime more, especially since it is well ANIMATED! *cough*

The manga is also better because I think it showed a lot more Yukito/Touya interaction, and had more hints about Touya loving Yukito...if I remember correctly, Kaho was dropping hints about it as soon as she arrived, way before the end of the first set of 6 books.

Yup, forgot to mention that as well. I'm not much of a Yaoi fan, but the yaoi that was hinted in the anime was more indepth in the manga! I still think Yukito/Touya is cute, even though I am not a yaoi fan, LOL

Yeah, it does seemed like that but maybe syaoran will use wind or maybe the stairs will appear back before she reaches the ground level.

I love both the anime and manga for all their benefits. the manga allows you to think and to speculate and you have your own impression that no one can spoil. then there is nothing like  a real full screen walking and talking person to make everything come alive. I still can't decide I love them both!!!

I like both versions. Although, I'm leaning more towards the manga because of some SxS scenes that weren't in the manga. xD Oh, and the ending. Haha.

It depends. I like the Manga because it's got of cute things that sorta didn't take in the Anime. But the Anime was longer and had a more suspense feel to it. It depends on what you like or what your into at the time. I could say that I love more the cliff hangers in CCS anime but I could also say I love the cuteness of the Manga better. I'd say I like that both equally.

But if it comes to the endings. I like the Anime ending better. It's so romantic -Is hopeless romantic-

I have the first 3 books in the clow card arc for the manga, but I was able to find manga scans on the internet! They're all 12 volumes and you can find them at:

And in response to the forum, my personal favorite is the anime. In my opinion, they rushed Sakura and Syaoran's relationship too much in the manga. I prefered the way they drew it out in the anime, and it seemed weird without Meilin in the manga. Next to Syaoran, she's my favorite character and is a valuable part of the storyline. Also, I absolutely love the Void Card. She, in my opinion at least, is very important to the storyline.

Plus.. I only have the, like, the last manga. Where as, I've got the entire anime-series of CCS.  :heh:

I mean, both are cute but.. with CCS, I like watching it more then reading it.

I voted for the manga...I think the Drawing style is a lot cuter than the anime version...also some parts of da story, including the ending.

But I also love a lot the anime version, specially the sealed card movie, The caracter desing is just a little different and more taken care of...so...well 50&50 percent for both of em...hehe.

I love the Anime, I really really do but I will definetly prefer the Manga (though the anime gets a bonus point for Wei and Mei-Ling). I like the Manga because there were more stories developped, like YAmazaki-Chiharu, Rita-Teacher, Sakura's parents, Yukito/Yue-Touya and definetly because it had a great ending. Also because you understood more Shaoran's tough character since he was all alone all the time.

Did you all know that near the end of the Manga, Naoko was supposedly to have a love life as well? CLAMP said so in their interview. Ohkawa mentioned that Naoko was supposedly to have a long distance relationship with someone, and she was going to say to Sakura that having a long distance relationship isn't bad at all.

According to the interview, Syaoran was also originally supposed to be Japanese! 0.o

I like both the anime and manga so its really hard for me to choose between the 2. I think there are both advantages and disadvantages between the manga & anime.

such as the manga has a better storyline, better artwork and it started the popularity of CCS
However the anime has got songs, music, colour, action and Meilin in it.
