So in here, I wanna discuss/share thoughts on TRC anime...especially the ending thing.
My thoughts:
Actually the anime only have 23 epsiodes in total. REALLY. no kidding. But i dunno if there's OVA or whatever. Or whether its only the 1st season....but after the airing of TRC, the airing of CCS 3rd season would come back.
Also, I've read an article and it mentioned that what the anime crew of TRC really wanted is to promote the anime's theme, which is:
'Even though you might not be able to achieve your goal, you still have to strive for it.'
this theme could be proved from Syaoran's goal to get back Sakura's memories...like his bravery, strength, faith...etc. But I'm still kind of wondering whether its really 23 epsiodes, it seems kind of impossible to explain the theme in such short period, plus i'm afraid the ending might not be an 'ending, if you know what i mean, sometimes an anime is different from its manga's ending...example CCS(even though its theme is still the same)...but for TRC anime, I dun think Syaoran would be able to collect the feathers within 23 epsiodes and have a nice ending(syaoran might not manage to get all the feathers, the article kind of hinted something like that)...so i'm just feeling doubtful. Or maybe I have the wrong interpretation. At least i hope i'm wrong with the ending thought.
So what do you guys think..will TRC anime end nicely or badly? :(

oooh the angst...
they might 'fast forward' some of the feather catching...like...play a little music...show a few scenes... then skip to the S+S moments ^^
i want more kurogane and fye!! 23 episodes is so short for this sort of plot though...i mean...even inuyasha...(collecting shards) is still going...

I think it just may end without a "real" ending, sice its only 23 episodes short. Just like another CLAMP production, X 1999, the manga is still not yet finished, and the anime ended with a really questionable one. There were a lot of anwsers left unanswered, and it was supposedly be anwsered in the ending of the manga. So..thats really a likable question...and I think our opnions may change with every new episode.

Where did you find out it's gonna be 23 episodes? That's weird cos animes run for seasons in Japan and they either get 13, 26, 52 episodes, well most of them... And knowing that it's Bee-Train (the animators), there's a big possibility it will only be 26 episodes like most of their past projects.
Anyway, I agree that it might be really too short if it's only 26 episodes. My guess is that the anime ending will be slightly different from the manga IF it will be really 26 episodes only. So far, we only have 1 op and 1 ed song which could suggest that it will only really run for 26 episodes. No news yet of a new season or new op/ed songs...
Well, I'm just hoping they don't cut the really good parts in the manga and that they'll extend it to MORE episodes cos the manga is starting to get better. They should definitely include those new great events in the story. :)

Hmm, I seem to always get hold of anime with 26 episodes... sometimes its ok, they only do the main bits or stick several things in, like they did with Fruits Basket. Only downside was they spend four episodes introducing it, leaving 22 to go. Other times it's not as good.. hmm..
They probably will do a nice ending.. or have it half way through or someting, so they can do a second series if they get enough support : i think that won't be hard... :hehe: : or... they could do sumin really cool... they could do... a MOVIE! MWA HA HA!! :okay:

There's already the XXXholic movie (wich is the other side of TRC's story) coming out this summer in japanese theaters, but yeah same here, I hope it's only season 1 for the 26 episodes run. Maybe they'll go with something like a first season, leave it unfinish, and if it did well enough, wait a year or so, finish the manga and then go for a second season of 13 or 26 episodes to finish the whole series. and maybe an ova or a movie would be a great addition.

26 episodes only? :sad5: Well, better than nothing.
I guess the anime will probably end with syaoran and the gang still travelling to different countries, each searching for his/her desired things. To know more, please look out for season2 or read TRC manga.

Probably only in terms of seeing them at the beginning being sent to that first place (dont want to ruin it for those who haven't read it), and when they get in contact wich Syaoran, you'll get some small glimpse but not that much.

They do have little bits to do with each other... occasionaly. Some of the other makes more sense after reading xxxHolic.
If a movie WAS released, i'd probably find a way to get over to Japan. i don't care if i don't understand... i wanna see!
I agree Endoh, movie 2 was a bit strange to end it then... when I watched it i was like RARR!!! at the tv, thinking it was kidding. and when my friend watched it, she was in hysterics at it ending. It would be great if we saw more of S+S.

Actually in xxxholic it did mention and Sakura has to pay the price...actually her price is to be the BIGGEST, since she needed Yuuko's powers to help her travel through demensions and it was HER memory that was gone. Therefore, she bear the biggest price...and her price is the relationship memories between her and Syaoran GONE, since Syaoran's most important thing was he and Sakura's relationship memories....therefore it seems like Syaoran has to bear a price instead of Sakura need to...but actually both of them have to bear the price.

When Sakura and Syaoran arrived at Yuuko's place, they didn't have any precious jewellery or $$ or weapons with them. Hence Sakura has to give up her precious memories of her and Syaoran while Syaoran has to suffer the pain of watching Sakura remembering nothing of their past.
I think Sakura didn't get off easy. She somehow knew there's a void in her memories. She always get sad when she saw Syaoran get injured because of her yet she can't recall anything abt him.

Sakura does get off a tad bit easy because Syaoran knows she wont never remember while he does, she just has the forboding feeling, and the constant "what happend", I hope that made sense XD
I wish it ends okay, I wish it was more than 26 episodes though, or maybe they'll continue after the manga finishes? I guess it's best to just stop it at 26 eps and wait for the manga to finish, unless there gonna put a whole bunch of filler episodes....

I'm just saying its worse for Syaoran. Since he can't even say, "Hey, remember that time?" without Sakura collapsing on him and forgeting it all.
It's just not fair for Syaoran.

I totally get what you mean, poor Syaoran, it's so sad that he can't openly talk about there past >.< But I think Sakura does feel bad, since she said she wants to remeber everything between them, but she can't. The angst!

i was expecting it would last longer......... the ending would probably be like unfinished and mysterious, with that small amount of episodes.

Lol. Well, I'm sure some other people spoil boards in another way. I think I'm just trying to keep it nice and clean ^^
Anywayz, its really hard to predict where it will end, but I think at least it should cover the comic until what we have now. Some hints may be seen on the opening (the "fake" syaoran) and still I think in the comic he hasn't make any official "big" appearance. So...might cover up more :)

Too bad,mostly I really TRC this time even I will wait about 2 years to shown it in my country(that's too long waiting)and it's OK that it's really bit short episode but hey,if there is another hiding episodes that makes hang of it!!

if that's the ending, I wish it was a PART of the ending. I don't think Syaoran's just gonna watch her disappear like that.....

You know what's freaky? I had this dream last night in which Sakura was in another world and Syaoran had no way of finding her... Kinda scared me. I hope that doesn't happen.
One thing's for sure, I am not hoping for an incomplete ending on the anime! (In which I mean they are still looking for whatever they're looking for)
If that happens, I can only hope the manga can console me... or maybe a movie. :D

actually, a movie is a good idea but i probably think there'll be TC II or something like that, well, the anime is: tsubasa chronicles, but the manga is: tsubasa reservoir chronicles. get my drift?? its like reservoir=collection of portions of the chronicles, something like that my guess....
hey, how much's on the bet that it'll be a cliffhanger and a movie'll be done to end TRC juz like CCS anime?

Hi, I'm Hira, new member, long- time CLAMP fan for the last 9 years... I think
I kind of wished it would have a second season...
But... seeing that it might not... I think the series would end nicely at the end of that world where they opened a cafe.
Actually... Come to think of it, they might make an ending that was led from a completely different plot from the manga... If you have seen the second and the third episode and have read the manga, you would know what I'm talking about... They can speed things up just to release the kid from the tube (Syaoran #2)
I hope that at the end, the five can still be together, or at least keep in touch...

I hope they would make a second season too....but probably not....or maybe they'll going to make OVAs or movies...most probably to crossover with xxxholic.
I bet they'll make up a completely different ending....totally agree with that....since CLAMP hasn't even finish the manga....I'm just crossing my fingers, hoping that Sakura would eventually get all the wings....coz she has a big possibilty of not managing to get all of them back....you know...26 epsiodes = all tsubasa...is probably 0.00001% of getting all of the wings back....
so the ending might ended up Syaoran didn't get all the wings (as in not getting all the memories back) and just continued their journey...so as to make it sound like it would have a sequel...and then the OVA and movie formula comes in. :hehe:

Actually, seeing the movie's summary, I doubt Sakura will get all the feathers back by then. It just takes place in another world that is not essential except for having a feather floating somewhere, not a place that is actually vital to the characters' lives/ pasts like maybe wherever Fei Wong Reed lives. (Hey, maybe he possesses a bit of Chinese heritage like Clow, too... Even though his name just means the flying king)

On my site; http://www.cafeanime.com.au/Loop.html I have a listing of the anime episode release air dates and the movie release month. Even if the xxxHolic / Tsubasa movie airs in the last week of August, there will still be 4 episodes to air after it's released (assuming there is 26 episodes). It's fair to assume that the movie will just be another Tsubasa adventure like the first CCS movie and the final 4 episodes will finish the story... or continue to a second season. :hello2:
I think it will definitly end with that scene from the first episode. Also these are not the official Sakura and Saoran from CCS. Those guys had their happy ending. It would stand to reason that these guys won't get one. :cry:

WHAT!!!!! :confused: only 26 episodes!!! how could that be???? :shifty: i mean... sakura's wings were...well.. they were quite big :sweatdrop:. So can anyone explain me how could they collect all the feather, when every 5 episodes or so they get only ONE feather!!!! :surprised: Until episode 17 they only have recovered 4 feathers.... i'm sorry... four TINY feathers :dodge:...so they would need at least 100 episodes to recovered enough feathers to get back sakura's BIG wings!!!
If it runs only until episode 26... and as slow as they are to recover the feathers... they will only get 6 or 7 feathers TOTAL!!! Definitly not enough to save sakura... :sad5:
Plus... i hope it last much much much more... because i really love TRC :D
