Post by: Espo on April 30 2005, 10:32 pm
Anyone know about one of CLAMP's early works?

This is the original series Mokona-chan came from ^^

and the three kuden of Syaoran, Fai and Kuro-woof-woof [Kurogane] are the Mashin from this series ^^

Personally, I didn't think much of the anime...the manga pics were quite cute, but the anime put me off reading anything....

When I first started reading the Rayearth manga, I didn't really see anything special about it, but it really started to get more interesting by volume two, and I had a really hard time putting down volume three because I was just so wrapped into it.  The ending to the first story arc was just so sad that I actually cried after reading it.  It's probably my fav manga ending to date.  My fav character is Umi just because, well, she's cool. ^^;; My fav of the antagonists is probably Caldina because she speaks the Osaka accent and I liked her illusion powers.  I haven't seen all of the tvseries yet, but so far I like the manga more than the anime, especially the first season.  The anime made a lot of changes to the storyline that I didn't like, and the ending to the first season of the anime just wasn't as good as the manga's version.  However, the second season is definetly a lot better than the first and I really like the introduction of Nova.  I also have the Rayearth OVAs, which I actually like more than the tvseries, but not as much as the manga.  The animation and music in the OVAs were really good, and I really liked the more darker storyline.  Some parts of it were a little confusing, but I still thought it was very good.  The OVAs dub isn't too bad, either.  The main thing I didn't like about the OVAs dub was how....the English VAs....sometimes talked....like this...can get... on your nerves....I never saw the dub for the tvseries though, so I can't comment on that yet.

I've read the manga fist arc, I liked it, though it ended like @zwing@ *cry cry* thing... waa.... I think I better get the second arc.

I've seen some pics for the anime, and the art looks a bit *erg* so I thought, 'manga all the way'!!

My fav. character is Umi.

You know what I think? I think the Syaoran/Fai/Kurogane trio is like the Hikaru/Fuu/Umi trio ^__^
1. Hikaru is dertemined. So is Syaoran.
2. Fai and Fuu are happy go lucky kind of characters.
3. Umi kills Mokona. And so does Kurogane.

And that fits with the Mashin been Syaoran/Fai/Kurogane's kudans.

I thought it was pretty pointless...the princess fighting them because she loved that guy just didn't make any sense....and the second series was even worse.

Mwa ha.. people get my point ^__^

Ruby Chan.. *this may be spoier to those who not seen/read*

Emerude couldn't be with Zagato... since she was the pillar... and.. as a fail safe device.. she could summon those who weren't from Cephiro... to kill her.. because.. she was putting Zagato before her duties. But, unknown to this, they killed Zagato, and got Emerude MAAAAADDDD.

Hhmmm.....I understand  why it happened, but I still don't like this series. The characters are good, the music is good, and the scenery anf=d voice actors are good...but the plots need a lot of work.

Pity.

And i agree i did think when i read through it the first time 'What on earth was the point of that?'......

........... this was one of the earlier series.....
