Just a thought...but maybe the reason they ended season 2 with fillers is because maybe they're giving it to another company? Someone who can handle all the bloody details? I was thinking maybe they'd hand it over to the studio who does XXXholic so they can finally connect the storylines [if there is a season 2 of XXXHolic] because due to recent chapters in the manga, I doubt they can continue XXXHolic anime without TRC involved in it...
-
I think it's doubtful, the production for the third series would've been started either while the second series was running or be starting up very soon. For another company to get their hands on the third series they would've had to do so beforehand, in which case we would've heard about it by now.
Sadly it looks like Beetrain will be doing the third series... unless something drastic happens *prays for it to be so*
Shame I would've loved to see another company get their mittens on TRC
-
^^; Well, I hope it's either that or CLAMP gets involved again.....some fillers were good, [except that GOD AWFUL DAMN TWO FILLER BUS EP] but I would really like them to continue the story, I mean, the Chaos arc [ep 48-52] was a good arc for character development, which I like to see alot. I am praying they dont butcher the X arc or Im gonna scream and toss my computer out the window...
-
That would be the perfect picture.... Right there in april, double clicking Chapter 1 of the 3rd season made by I.G.. then see the very well done animation and the X arc just like it's meant to be.... but it's too good to happen i guess >.<
I don't know if it's possible by now to change studios, but that would be so good if it happened...
-
they SEIOSYL need CLAMP's help. imean, look at season one. there was only 1 really bad filler, and that was ep 26 when beetrain had sakura breake CLAMP's #1 rule [you cannot ressurect the dead]
the "strength and kindness" episode...it was intersting. very comdic and character developer.
-
Hmm but from what I heard, CLAMP might have cancelled their contract....so it is a possibility...maybe it will change, maybe it wont, only time will tell....

really? then there's some light at the end of the tunnel

Where did you hear this? Clamp wasn't the ones who sold them the script it was the company who publishes the tanks. But if it's true then... *celebrates*
-
suu_no_clover told me while we talked on AIM...she told me about some kind of interview or something and that CLAMP was dissatisfyed with Beetrain's work.
Just a rumor, mind you, not sure if it's true....hopeful fans think they cancalled, but no way to tell.
-
Yeah I remember that. It said they were dissatisfied but no word on cancelling the contract - shame.
What we need is Madhouse to befriend Clamp again to redo the whole series - they did a fantastic job with X and are doing Clamp in Wonderland 2
-
I told you it was a theory.... Now I'm embarassed... ><;;;
A while back, some article said that CLAMP didn't like how Bee Train was handling the series, and then the last episode of this season said something about it being the end of Tsubasa. I dunno. Perhaps more will be done as an OVA. It's just me over-thinking things. >< Nothing true or false. *sigh*

Well, not the whole series, season 1 was great, I actually liked the change they did in ep 23....made the bond between Syaoran and Sakura so much closer....

Ah gomen ne >< didnt mean to embarrise you....just stating my thoughts ^^ ...

I'd say that if anybody else were to animate Tsubasa, it would be Production I.G. They did do the movie afterall so copyright isn't a problem, and they could always get out of the title problem and use the series original name "Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle" instead of just "Tsubasa Chronicle". XP
I'm highly doubtful of any studio switch or quality improvements, sadly.
-
Man, when I 1st read this I thought Beetrain was gone for good.=[ I was having such a horrible day too this whole week. I thought this was going to be great news. But really I do hope that TRC gets a better studio to take it. I loved season 1 but once season2 came I started to hate it a bit.>< Too many fillers!>< Hopefully the X arc will have its bloody goodness.=]
-
FYI: Beetrain (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=264) is a subsidiary company of Production I.G. (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=337).
The problem is Beetrain let some Korean animators do the side job for fillers. foreign animators tend to neglect the details and that's why some episodes look weird.
-
I think Beetrain will continue animating Tsubasa. Even though Beetrain isn't good, changing company in the middle of an series wouldn't turn out well I think. I totally agree on that it would have been better if it was another company making Tsubasa and if it was broadcasted on another channel, but I think that will never happen... (At least we have the wonderful manga to read! :D )

agreed. We're alrady too far in the series for a studio change. Definitely it would have been much better if Production I.G did it, but there's no turning back now :(

off-topic:
the 'stupid dialogue' between Syaoran and Sakura seems to be popular in Bee Train's anime's.....
Hack//Legend of the Twilight:
Shugo: Rena!!!
Rena: Shugo!!!
^ this scene is repeated like....100 times throughout the anime!!
Tsubasa Chronicle:
Syaoran: Hime!!
Sakura: Syaoran-kun!!
^ this scene is repeated like....100 times throughout the anime!!
anyone else notice the similarity? XD
(the stupid dialogue does have one good side.....it's great for anoying my mom with! XDDD)
-
Yeah, you get tired of hearing that all the time. >< When they see each other all they can say is each others names...
-
Yeah, I see what you mean. There's lots of things that should have been better in the anime, including the dialouges.
-
For me, the anime has reached such an unbearable level of canon-rape that if I had to choose between BeeTrain continuing to animated TRC and TRC never being animated by anyone ever again, I would choose to have TRC never animated again.
I'd rather the anime didn't exist at all then have to watch Tsubasa continually torn to shreds... Well, perhaps that was a bad metaphor... more like, watch Tsubasa be plastered in sparkly pink paint and covered with glitter and rainbows and sunny-sunshine and flying pink foxes.

What do you mean, canon-rape? I, for one, wont believe anything is canon until officially stated by CLAMP......
-
Clamp rarely comes out and explicitly says that something is canon, though. That's just the way Clamp is.
But I have to agree with dark_persian, I'd rather there not be an anime at all than to have one so poorly done. There's just no life to it. And the animation isn't very fluid at all.
-
The animation is poorly done as well compared to the other shows which are running at the same time.
When we talk about canon-rape, it's not just pairings we're talking about it's facts and events that actually happen in the manga. Perfect example is episode 26 of series 1.

Exactly. Or making any of the characters act completely out of character. Take for insance the fact that both Kurogane and Fay got defeated so easily by the mediocre Chaos guy, only to glorify Syaoran's strength, it seems. Or that filler episode in Lecourt with Fay telling Kurogane to show Syaoran his memories again. (What in the world?) Overall, poor Kurogane's character has been the one that got his character butchered more significantly than the other three, but Syaoran and Fay follow quite closely. With that episode of the date with the pool cover Chii and the entire Chaos arc.
-
I agree entirely and it's not just fillers, I actually refuse to comment on them because they are all rape.
Lecourt is the perfect arc to show continuous rape, and I'm not talk about after Fai's poor interpretation of using his magic because I think that was as far as the manga went when they were creating series two.
And it's little things that annoy me too like the bath scene in Kuro's memories or them reacting differently to an event then how they did in the manga.
Canon-rape is ripe in this series and something needs to be done with Beetrain, it's just not acceptable.
-
Ah I see...well, I think Beetrain knows how many fans their losing......maybe they're running to CLAMP now and begging for forgiveness...saying "PLEASE HELP US! BEFORE WE LOSE MORE FANS!" :D
-
I just hope that BT will GREATLY improve the quality of season 3.
-

We can only hope... Personally, I'd love to see CLAMP sue the pants off of BeeTrain and then have the contract terminated completely.
Even if BeeTrain DO infact admit "Yes, we have been ruining Tsubasa and yes, it's showing in the show's ratings. CLAMP please help us, we know now that we obviously can't do it on our own." there will still be heavy restrictions on the TRC's content.
True, BeeTrain are responsible for completely mutilating the plot and characters in Tsubasa and stuffing the series full of awful, fanfic-esk fillers, but it's NHK (the broadcasting company that BeeTrain is apparently affiliated with) that demands that scenes with gambling, alcohol use, bloody violence and language are cut.
Techincally, NHK is an educational channel for children. I think Card Captor Sakura was aired on that channel too.
So, either way, I don't think there is ANY hope for the Tokyo arc to be done justice, with or without CLAMP's help.
The only way the anime is ever going to get better is if BeeTrain and NHK are kicked out of the picture and TRC is taken by a new animation company and aired on a different channel.

Even though we don't like Beetrain, it seems like Tsubasa is still quite popular in japan, according to Japan's 100 favorite animated TV series list Tsubasa is on place 53. If you haven't seen the list you can look here:

... it did better than Ouran Host Club? *headdesk* I think that might be based off the first series...

-_-;; I'm hoping that was for the first series... Because if it's not that just make it even sadder.
I was reasonably alright with TRC through the first series. Aside from a few annoying things like Sakura randomly flying around and Kurogane making that stupidly OoC "Hyuu~!"ing sound at Sakura's dress in Outo, it was just okay. I certainly wasn't anywhere near as angry with it as I am now.
The TRC anime has only been seriously going downhill since that Pokemon-esk sailor/boating filler episode. Since then it's been getting worse and worse and worse until it's reached the point where it simply ISN'T Tsubasa anymore.
It's a glorifed animated fanfiction written by nerdy fanboy otaku.
-
Either it's doing that good or Japanese viewers are pretty bored with whatever else is on TV so they're forced to watch Tsubasa

I'm going to go with that reason. XP
Though I have seen some japanese fanart based off the FaiChii ep, and other S2 fillers. Not much, but.. :/
-
Heh I happened to like the cuteness of ep 32...oh...btw, Su_no_Clover, your PM box is full.
-
Many of us didn't, as the episode was a filler one, not in the manga.
[ There's room, now. ^^ ]
-

A friend of mine actually posted some Japanese fanart making fun of the entire Chaos arc. Seems that even some of the Japanese fans thought it was a tad ridiculous.
-
Hmm...the only one I think that was rather ridiculus is the dreaded bus ep.....but other than that.....I find most of the fillers did have a good range of character development....if there's one thing I like, it's character development and there's just not enough of it in the manga...I mean...Sakura went from a helpless thing who's afriad to even harm a bug to some monster killing...well...I dunno....hunter? O_O ..no transition whatsoever....though, Im glad Sakura finally got to do something, but a bit too fast, too soon....while in the anime....it shows her growing slowly....changing from cant do....to maybe....to more belief in herself and so on....
-
some fillers were pure fanservies:
Fai chi
syaoran and a chibi form of his father 9atleast they had the decency to include an omake within that: Fai hates "shi-su" XD
OEKAKI MOKONA <3 <3 <3
kerochan and MOkana
those should have been the only fillers really, also include "Sad miricle becuase im amlost certain that CLAMP ordered that specific episode becasue episode 26 last year broke the rules
----------
i rmember eading somewhere that both TEOI and Naoko Takehashi were etremely upset about how DiC handled Sailor Moon, which is why sailor moon will most likly never be liscened again. i wouldnt be surprised if CLAMP are that upset at BT and NHK for what their beutiful story has become
it's character development and there's just not enough of it in the manga...I mean...Sakura went from a helpless thing who's afriad to even harm a bug to some monster killing...well...I dunno....hunter? well, what happened to sakura in the manga...that was a very traumatic experience. it may have been a very quick change, but she wanted to DO someotihng. she is still the sweet caring girl we know, only she's learned the sting of heartbreak. the anime, tho they DID give us an ep where she did soemthing, i nthe past 5 episode she was little more then a bump on a log!
-
BeeTrain taking the character's development into their own hands is the thing that makes the characters horrifically OoC and the anime into one big animated fanfic.
An animation company simply should not be taking CLAMP's characters and trying to develop them how they feel is right when the characters don't belong to them. BeeTrain, like the rest of us, don't have the full picture of what the characters in Tsubasa are all about, which is the reason their filler episodes make so many glaring mistakes.
It's CLAMP that created these characters, CLAMP that know these characters inside out, know their reasons for acting certain ways - what drives and motivates them, and only CLAMP that have the right to change the way they think, feel and act.
Since that boat episode BeeTrain has pretty much been saying, "CLAMP, we can write Tsubasa better than you can."
So is it any wonder that CLAMP is very unhappy with the way the anime is being handled? I know I ceratinly would be if Tsubasa was my creation!

I hope that has something to do with copyright or any legal stuff, that way CLAMP could emand BeeTrain and change studio :)
