It is all I hoped for with little extras - like young Kuro!
Hmm, I can't see the tear in page 13, though?! That would count among the extras for certain. The way both we and Fai is led to understand that now there is something to live for is lovely, from the ?dungeon it jumps to Sakura in Fai's arms. *dies at the sad smile on pg 15*
At the end they look so determined - I can't wait for the translation to clear the second half of the chapter (the first has been made easier to understand by the spoilers)

Beautiful! Yuuko looked especially beautiufl in that color page and I love Tomoyo''s shot as well.
The Fai part wasn't what I was expecting, and it was really dark, but I think it helped add to the fact that Fai was so alone, so there weren't many details in his life then save for emptiness. >.<
Favorite Part:
Sakura could tell that Fai was in pain so she tried to reach for his hand to comfort him, and when he noticed, he took his other hand in hers to reassure her.
Fai-mommy is such a darling, and Sakura's kindess will never die!

I don't like the thought of Sakura being the solution to all their problems... I mean, it was very sweet with the Fay/Sakura hug at the end of ch. 132, but it would be ridiculous if she were to be Fai's 'saviour'. Kurogane, start comforting Fai, dammit! >.<

But, I really do think that Kuro is the one who is going to help Fay in the end.
Sakura has the gift to hear lonely voices so that's probably why she reached out to him...she's a comforter. She can feel and understand his pain but the bond Kuro and Fay have is much different.
Her looks are nothing to Kuro's little look on page 12, though. ;)

Well. Think of it this way:
Fai keeps saying he wants someone to 'take him away' and to 'stay by his side'. NOw, can you imagine Sakura staying with him forever? No. She's gonna marry Syaoran. Sure, they might be all friendly if everything works out and Fai stays in Clow for some reason, but somehow I doubt that's what Fai needs. And really, who else but Kurogane has incentive to stay with Fai forever (especially with the blood thing)?

Um, I have hair down to my bum and it took me 4 years to grow from my chin. I would say that is 4-5 years of hair growth for him (since chibi-Fay is shorter than me and therefore has less length to grow). I don't think that is all of his life. He's probably closer to 7/8. Of course, he was still YOUNG but I don't think he was born into captivity.

Wow... What a lovely thing to come home to after a long day at work!!
This chapter was great! Sakura finally get's some explinations about her powers and Fei Wong's plot. We get to see Fai with super-fairy-princess Rapunzle hair and the Fai/Sakura mother/daughter moments were the most adorable ever! ^^ I melted!
And come on people! Of course there is absolutely nothing more to Fai and Sakura's relationship than maternal to child. CLAMP has worked hard to establish Kurogane and Fai as the 'parents' of this little family unit that has developed.
Why bother dubbing Fai "Fai-mummy" just to have him fall for Sakura (or vica versa)!!?! That would just be confusing mother/daughter style incest!
Fai and Sakura's relationship is as innocent as a box full of newborn kittens. I love that relationship and I really wish people would stop trying to see it as something it's not.
Sheesh! Sakura comes back a mangled, bloody reck after getting her nails ripped out and her head smacked in while trudging through acid rain - Fai gives her a hug and holds her hand and all of a sudden he's romantically in love with her?! Ridiculous.
CLAMP supports soulmate pairings! Sakura and Syaoran are soulmates and that is never going to change.
Right now, Sakura and Fai have a lot in common. They've both lost something very important and they're both in a lot of pain. Syaoran, Sakura's main protector is gone. It's only natural that Fai would comfort, console and take care of Sakura while he's gone.

I had to go back and hunt for the chapter in xxxHolic where Yuuko talks about the earrings on the Mokona's (all the way back in volume four), about the two different sides. White Mokona is the magic side, and the black Mokona is the sealing side. One was for the group/Syaoran the other for Watanuki. The two sides was brought up again in this chapter, but Yuuko referred to it as "two futures". Watanuki's spiritual powers are crazy and those from the spirit world know about and want his power.
I'm really thinking FWR had something to do with his parents deaths now (they died protecting him, right?), perhaps Watanuki has something to do with ruining his plans? He's obviously quite important to Syaoran. I really hope they clear some of this up next week in xxxHolic. >_<
Fay is so sad, he seriously needs many hugs. This chapter reminds me of what Mokona had said to Fay back in Outo about how Sakura makes one feel happy, and Fay had looked at her with a bit of a sad look. I think she kinda melts his shell that he's put up. Kurogane is going to have to deal with him for the long run though.

The chapter was beautiful. Everyone looks wonderful, specially Kurogane and Fye!Poor Fye... his past must've been something traumatizing. I bet his childhood was the darkest of all four...
Did anyone notice or was it just me? :spoilers: Fye's little hands were... skeletical- I bet he not only suffered of thirst and severe cold, but of starvation too. I mean.. just look at his fingers! Gangrene caused by the cold, thirst and lack of food.. let's not even talk about how lonely it must've been... no wonder the little guy wanted to die... :/spoilers:

People, about the hair - it depends on what kind of a person he is, too. For example, even if for one person it took 4 years to grow it out that long, for another person (aka, me) I've been growing my hair out all my life (14 years) and it's only down to my butt. Think genetics. We really can't guess depending on ourselves, because everyone is different.
But I'm soooooo glad that this is out. I'm glad Yuuko's finally sharing some share-able info. And I'm not so worried aobut Sakura adn Fai falling in love, because it's different, adn besides, Mommy's and Daughters gotta stick up for each other, right?

This chapter manages to add a few more pieces of information we didn't know before. So, we've got little Fai being locked up, but nothing else on the backstory front *sigh* Since that was at the end of the summary I thought it might be leading in to more flashback, but I guess not.
In one translation, something about how certain people have to maintain the balance in the universes - presumably Yuuko, Clow, and other powerful people. I wonder if that relates to why so many people in different dimensions knwo of Yuuko - are they also ones who must maintain the balance? And I wonder how Tomoyo, and above all real!Syaoran, came to know about Fei-Wang's plan. It looks like it's up to our heroes to find out what FWR's wish is for us, though.
Sakura's power is a little hazy - so she can store in her body a "memory" of any world she visits? And the point of scattering the feathers was so that she would travel to many different worlds? So eventually her body would become like a catalogue of worlds, or something? What's the use of that? *ponders*

thats probably why he loves and chereishes hisfreindship with the others, he;s also very afriad to lose them because of him, so he tries to push them away at the same time. (reminds me of hat episode this season, where their on the boat with "good ryanban" (whatever his name is) and chibi-fujitaka...when wyaoran fell overboard...it was FAI who yelled the loudest... maybe beetrain had something there :S)

Wow, this chapter sure ushers the story along. I've been suspecting since I first got introduced to TRC, back in May, that our bad guy Fei Wang's situation was similar Zagato's in Magic Knights Rayearth. Both willing to destroy a world, or worlds in FW's case, for the sake of love. Begging us to ask, is it evil of him to do all this (imprison Syaoran *and Fai?*, clone Syaoran, scatter Sakura through time and space, kill Kurogane's mother, etc.) to bring back the person he loves? Clamp seems to like to reuse their themes alot. I don't have a problem with that, I like meeting Clamp's new creations like Kurogane and Fai. Anyone else notice on the gothic/lolita splash pages that Fai and Kurogane's poses very similar to Kazahaya and Rikuo's of Legal Drug chapter 4?

I've expected for a good long time that Kurogane's mother and father were killed to get Kurogane to go on the journey. I'm glad that was confirmed. ^_^
The memories of the body concept actually isn't new in TRC- if you remember, Mokona actually first mentioned it in Shurano, when Sakura kissed Syaoran on the eye.
With Fai being held captive for apparently years, there seem to be some interesting parallels between Fai and R!Syaoran's past. I hope Clamp does something with that.

Lol yeah, it's a pretty big stretch in a way. It still hasn't been explained exactly what use the body memories can be though, obviously, so there are still a huge amount of unanswered questions about the concept. The phrase '+6 magical wonkiness'- I must remember that.

Other than that, the plot development was great in this chapter. It's nice to finally be clued in to what FWR's been doing. And Yuuko was beautiful in that first cover page.

The memory of the body...
I think what might help understand that concept is to go back to remember what are some of CLAMP's most cherished philosophy/principles for life.
Of all the philosophies they have proposed, the one most closely linked to this concept would have been the same concept that was being dealt with in CLAMP's debut work- RG Veda and their most renowned tragedy X.
First of all, every action counts. This has been reiterated by Yuuko over and over.
Second, both stories talked about how the interaction of the people can alter the future. The love between Asura and Yasha was an example, and in X, there's always the motif of the grinding gears.
I think CLAMP do believe in fate with the Hitsuen idea, but they probably do not believe that fate is an absolute power, but rather, the series of interactions amongst the livings (hence, the gears in X).
Sakura's memory of the body... probably meant the role which she plays in each of the world she travels since she wakes up. Even a single action CAN affect the future, doesn't it?
Fei Wong, by obtaining the power to manipulate every dimension, would find it easier if there is just ONE PERSON who has played some kind of role in each of the worlds.

Fai can't have been put there for no reason. Perhaps the person/people that put him there believed that he was dangerous. Maybe Fai did something that proved he was dangerous.
Either way, I don't think Fai would have been in there since birth. Let's see... If he was 4 or 5 when he was put in there, 4 or 5 years inside to let his hair get that long... could make him 8 to 10 in the flashback. He would have had time to learn how to talk before he was emprisoned I suppose. And there must be someone feeding him! If even just a little. I don't think even mages can go for 4-5 years without food can they?! 0_o

Fai's past, the feather/book was also kept under lock and key, so to say, because it was so powerful and at the same time feared. The difference is of course that to do that to a person is horrible, while it could be counted as reasonable if it was an inanimate object.

That has been my understanding of the matter ever since the "can't die" line in Oto, I immediately classified him (whether truthfully or falsely, but being so immersed with Tolkien's universe, I could not think otherwise unless it will be proved totally different)as someone of "limitless serial longevity" as JRR Tolkien put it when speaking of his Elves. The latter could only "die" if slain or of heart-break and we have seen that Fai could probably not even die of the last one.

1) what's so special about Kurogane and Fai? why did FWR choose them for the journey and not someone else? My guess is because Tomoyo and Fai are two of the very few people that can cross dimensions, otherwise it seems more like he picked them randomly or something..
2) who the hell is Watanugi? ^^. Sorry for my ignorance, but I haven't watched xxxHolic yet. does anyone bother to tell me a bit about this guy and his relationship with R!Syaoran?(of course i'd be best without spoiling, cause i'm planning to read xxxholix in the future)
3) what does Yuuko mean by "For the sake of two futures"?

Well, Fai's profile and the kid in the cell's profile are pretty similar, so I think that's why we all think it's Fai. Plus the way the hair is drawn is very reminiscent of Fai's hair.

We don't know much about Watanuki's relationship with Syaoran at all, only that he [Syaoran] paid to help him out with something before the story even started (exactly what I won't say so as to avoid spoilers ^_^) Watanuki doesn't seem to know anything about Syaoran save that he appeared at Yuuko's shop and is travelling dimensions, since he was there in the background when everyone arrived at Yuuko's shop and saw the whole thing.
He can see spirits. He works for Yuuko in exchange for her eventually granting his wish, which is to not see spirits any more. He goes on missions for her and cleans and cooks around the shop, essentially. He's like her slave XD
And as for 'the sake of two futures'... I think Yuuko might have meant the future of the group and Watanuki's future (perhaps him AND some of the other Holic characters?), since he seems to be connected more directly than we originally assumed

It should also be mentioned that Clow knew about Watanuki, Yuuko had made a comment on how both of them thought he was a good child. Also when she's talking about the two Mokona's it shows Syaoran/Sakura and then Watanuki. He's tied to Clow somehow or another, on that I'm pretty sure.Yuuko said that him and Syaoran have a close tie, but as of now we don't know what that tie is.
One final tidbit, Sakura and Watanuki both have the same birthday, April 1st (his name is even written that way).
I think it's all lies when they say you can read one of these series and be fine, to get the whole picture reading both is rather necessary. -_-

Appropriate, then, that Fai so fell in love with Oruha's song.
Also, I think I'm the only one thinking about the parallels between Fai being held captive and Syaoran being held captive. xd

Hmm, well, this is what Mokona says:
"There are two types of memory. What the conscious mind remembers and what the body remembers. The conscious mind is very important, but the body is really important too. Sometimes when the mind forgets, the body remembers for it."
There is a diference between her body repeating the actions it once took and making memories of the world she's been in, but they clearly both fall under the 'body memories' concept Clamp introduces here, which is really what I meant. All in all, the scene was definitely foreshadowing for the explanation in this chapter. (Besides, even if she's asleep, she's still experiencing being in that world, isn't she?)

Znuese,once again you make me cry with your sensational colored scan,the flakes of snow are like tears flowing from the sky,the clouds seems to be burned up by fiery ashes,and the darkness that surrounds Fai are more evil than a monsters' nest,Fai's blue eye is the only light which transcends the obscurity  :keke:...
i know that it sounds weird but the colors that you used reminds me Christmas...and it brings more grief since Fai has certainly never enjoyed a warmhearted family  :(
but what i find really unbearable in this picture is that Fai can't even see through the window because he is too small  :sad5:!!!
the only things that are in the level of his eyes are darkness and walls,he hasn't the strenght to lift a little his bare foots to take a look outside...i'm really starting to think that i would have been more happy without knowing his past,it is so appalling  :dodge:

about the fact that Fai can't die,or i should rather say can't KILL HIMSELF,i was wondering how it could be possible :surprised:...
there are only two theories to explain this peculiar particularity,either Fai was born like this and so it is due to his magical power (but in this case ALL the others magicians would be like him,and i don't think so because he seems different),or else someone has cast him a spell which has sealed him from the inside in order to nulliffy all his attempts to suicide himself and all the bad effects of disease :okay:...
so it would mean that someone wanted to keep Fai alive and that's may be why he has been kept captive isolated from the outside world,so as to protect him from others people who wished to make him disappear :sweatdrop:

I honestly think that he can't not die is a freak gasoline fight accident.
I got the impression that he wanted ot die, bu that there was nothing keeping him from not dying like immortality, a spell, a curse, whatever.
He just hadn't died yet, of starvation or hypothermea or whatever.
He said he had a reason to live before he died anyway, so, you know CLAMP and will power.
I don't neccessarily think his life(being alive) was that controlled when he was little as we see him there.
Thats just my guess though.

Agreed. We still don't know if Fai has a spell or something that keeps him from commiting suicide, but it also be that he is too coward to take his own life. Or maybe it's about willpower like Tricky said. In any case, if he really wanted to die and if he had complete control over his life he would have killed himself long ago
I'm still fond of the theory that something keeps him from dying. It's also the worst thing that could happen to him, and since we've seen people ripping off arms, eating eyes and all sort of terrible things, then why not? ^^

That's just an assumption. Jamie's translations and Pikari's translations both just have Fai say, 'But before I die... someone.... I want someone to...' In the first translation available, I think, the translator stuck in a note that she couldn't think of any way to finish the sentence except 'to love me.' But that's not what Fai says.

I don't think he actually said the "to be loved by someone" part.

I think the reason that it was included was because they used Inarikami's translations. This is what she said:

and then at the very end she threw in, in the NOTES section:
(1) Okay, the only way I coul finish this sentence is: ".... I want to be loved." ♥
That is where I think the problem started, because people must have misread it and thought that it was what Fai actually said, and then whoever the scanlator was for the MSN group added it in, and then people were misled completely.
So he didn't say that. He just said "someone..." and then it cuts away. We don't know what he says. It could be that, but it isn't what was stated.

if i get the chance, ill fix the chapter translation on the msn group. whjoever scanslated it, they made ALOT of mistakes...from FWR's middle name to calling watanuiki "this kid" rather then wat yuuko WOULD have called him: "this child" yuuko calling someone a "kid"...thats just too slangy for soemone of her stature XD thats Kuroigane's line!

That's not technically incorrect. The furigana next to his name says "fei wan riido". Spelling it "Feiwan" is like spelling Syaoran (Xiao Lang)'s name "Shaoran".
Personally, I spell it Wong, because that's just another reading of his name, and that one helps me with the pronunciation better.

I think that depends on if 'that guy' is Syaoran or Fei Wong, and I think he is more interestd in the promise he did to kill whoever killed his mother that getting back Syaoran now, that is Sakura's wish. Besides Kurogane has never called Syaoran 'that guy' (yatsu) he calls him 'boy' (kozou) !!!! And calls Fay aitsu, soitsu, koitsu and mokona shiro manjuu.... this guy has a bad habbit of not calling people by their given names :rotfl:

Su-chan's makes more sense! After looking at the kanji myself, instead of with a translator, I started to get a similar translation to her! I've edited one part of mine, but I think hers is gonna be pretty much what I make it so I won't bother looking up the rest!

As for the translation, I understand it, but with Fay's first bit... It says, "Ore ittsyo demo iikana..." In direct translation it would mean, "I think I would like to be together..." But I think someone could probably translate that better than me. After that he says, "Our only princess." And then something funky in french.
As for Kurogane he says, "Going back to Japan, that hasn't changed. However, there is something that has changed. There doesn't have to be just one promise. And, we can meet the guy we are looking for."
I would try and translate the rest, but I'm truly lazy when it comes to those type of things. I'm pretty sure I got the translation right, but feel free to correct me.

It's like saying "I had a deja vu" that does not mean I'm french, it's just words taken to express something.
Also, CLAMP created a magical and unknown world for every single character except Kurogane and Tomoyo, who are from Japan- other from that, we cannot determine where the other characters are from.
It's like Saying Sakura and Syaoran are from Egypt or Kasakstan or somewhere in the middle east. One cannot really tell.

But it's not only Russian, is it? From what I remember, it was Russian letters mixed with pure gibberish. I don't think Fai is Russian, French, Norwegian, or any other nationality exisiting in our world. He's simply Celessian.

I don't know why people are jumping into conclusions about Fay and Sakura after one chapter of hand-holding and this 'my only princess' line.
To me the relationship between Fay and Sakura is now (motherly feelings aside) very much like Kurogane's and Tomoyo's. Fay declares that he will continue the journey only for Sakura's sake, he calls her 'his only princess' and thus vows to be her protector. He's somehow like a knight offering his loyal support to the queen. And with her Syaoran gone, I think that she really needs this kind of reassurance from her friends.
Appart from that, come on! CLAMP will never break their canon couples
btw. after reading the spoilers we discuss Fay's random usage of a French phrase. it's really sad, because it means that nothing really happens in the newest chapter... CLAMP, get it over with!!!

I've also been wanting the group to move on, coz the mood in this world has been so dark, so angsty! I mean, it would be better if we can read all the way, but waiting a week for 1 chapter (and sometimes 2 weeks!) makes me feel that I'm in an extended angsty mood! The tension that we have to suffer while waiting for the chapter to come out is sometimes unbearable.
But I'm just wondering whether CLAMP will tell us what's gonna happen with Kamui, Subaru, Fuuma & Seishiro.
I also like to think that R!Syao wants to "go back" to meet his Sakura! I always get this feeling that R!Syao is reminded of his Sakura whenever he sees our Sakura...
And about Fai speaking in French...I think it's just an expression...I mean, although we use English in this forum, sometimes we insert some Japanese words (like "Sugoi!" or "kawaii" or something) just for fun. I can't be sure though, because he's been in a sad mood lately, but for now, I'll just assume that he uses that expression to lighten up the mood (a sign that he's going back to his old self?) I know it seems like they've been sitting around for awhile, but that's more the feeling we get because we wait chapter by chapter. I think people who read the series as a whole in the future would think it lacking in something if they were to suddeny jump to another world right now.

To me the relationship between Fay and Sakura is now (motherly feelings aside) very much like Kurogane's and Tomoyo's. Fay declares that he will continue the journey only for Sakura's sake, he calls her 'his only princess' and thus vows to be her protector. He's somehow like a knight offering his loyal support to the queen. And with her Syaoran gone, I think that she really needs this kind of reassurance from her friends.
Appart from that, come on! CLAMP will never break their canon couples

for instance in CCS Sakura has got brown hair and green eyes which is not very common for japanese,but her school life is typically nippon.but Shaolan has got more physical similarities with japan people while he is in fact chinese and his difference is displayed by the fact that he is very awkward about japan cultures,so it means that CLAMP don't consider the appearance but rather the behaviour :keke:!
so even if Fai doesn't look like french he really acts like a french (and personnally i can tell that blond hair and blue eyes are very standard in my country :surprised:)

I'm firmly in the "Fai is Celesian" camp. I don't think he's French or Russian or Scandinavian or English or what have you. Celes isn't really any of the those places. And really, "Chii" and "Ashura" don't sound like names that belong in any of those countries.

perhaps its a glitch in mokona, or perhaps fai used soem of his own enrgy to skip it? its sorta like satying "de ja vu" [cant make those funk accents] in front of mokona. 95% peopleknow what "de ja vu" means, but if mokona translates it...itd be more confusing, like doesnt that frase mean once again, or something like that?, which would make it less understandable./q
also, as intersting as this chaoter sounds, it also sounds like it will be a boring-ishj chapter (compared to the wirlwind we've just gone thru)...

I finally (laziness) went to check the second volume and the symbols of Fai's language - it IS Russian Cyrillic (that does not mean a thing, there is only one vowel used three times) mixed with universal symbols of #@!$and so on. I've learnt Russian for 9 years at school and even if I have forgotten a lot due to lack of use, I can tell the only symbols of a definite language Fai speaks are the Cyrillic ones.
"My only princess" would be in Russian something like "maja odna printsessa" or "odna printsessa maja" if written with latin letters.

so back to the topic,it seems that new kind of relationships arestarting to deploy between Kurogane,Fai,sakura,and Shaolan ... :
at the beginning there were mostly the couples Kurogane/Fai and Shaolan/Sakura,but since the past events this balance has been turned upside down :surprised::
Kurogane and Shaolan are now two loners,because Fai has rejected Kurogane and Sakura only thinks about her missing Clone Shaolan.Kurogane will certainly keep his distance for while,not knowing how to deal with his feelings,and in order to forget his pain he seems to have decided to only concentrate his mind on the true reason why he is here,which is his wish to kill Fei Wong Reed and return to Nihon :(.
About the real Shaolan he hasunderstood that he will never replace Clone Shaolan in sakura's heart,so as Kurogane he has made vacuous around him and is trying to only focalise his attention only on his future :sad5:.
Fai and sakura are the two who has been betrayed since Kurogane has forced Fai to live and that Clone Shaolan has left Sakura behind,and they seem to be the two only one to be able to understand each other and so to comfort each other :sweatdrop:.
so i think that for a while Kurogane and Real Shaolan are going to be separated mentally from Fai and Sakura :okay:

^_______^'' I'm nativly russian, and I can speak it fluently, and from the time when we did get some random characters of his language, I can tell you that while they do match the Russian ones, the words he said made no sence in russian. (I know it cuz I remember being confused at the time as well)
So maybe he's some odd mix. I personally like the idea of him simply being the complete yin to kurogane's yang. There's nothing much more to it. And besides, wizards are supposed to be well educated, correct? Everyone knows how fun it it to stick different-language phrases into english for no reason whatsoever.
Mommy and daughter are just having a heart-to-heart moment. Sakura's incredible ability to heal people's hearts is needed for Fai right now. He's confused, because he has jsut been jerked away from his original plans of dying. So maybe he's scared because he's rejecting the growing warmth towards Kurogane? Didn't he say he got too close in the earlier chapter?

I too am in the camp of "simply from Celes", in a way I would be even disappointed if it was otherwise since I like the disattachment to our world.
As to why the Cyrillic characters were used, my reasoning would be that even if he is not of this world, to represent his language still you'd use characters familiar to the readers that are; let's admit that Russian letters are cool-looking while also foreign-looking enough to most readers to be accepted for someone from a world away, while they are also used in a place (or better put in Russia's case part of a place) that has climate similar to Celes. And that's all the connection there is.

I bring you: the ultimate reason why Fai can't be from any of your countries - his language. Looking at Fai's delicate, etheral appearance, his fine clothing and the symbols of his magic, his mother tongue just have to be the most melodious one ever, with lots and lots of crisp vowels flowing like honey from the speaker's lips - in short, perfect for singing - don't you think? And while the Scandiniavian languages sure are melodious, they aren't smooth enough, whereas Russian is too harsh, and French varies between being too nasal and too throathy for Fai.
Bwahahahaha. Try to argue against that.

I agree (even if I have never understood why languages with lots of vowels are considered beautiful, coming from a country with such a language, I do not consider it exceptionally lovely myself), the closest in sound I can imagine is Tolkien's Quenya (which was inspired by Finnish that is very very similar to my own, Estonian ;)) but even more melodious.

O_o Fai is not French, he is not German, nor Scandiavian, Norweigan, Dutch, Estonian, British (he doesn't have a monocle like all us Brits do. *BRICKED*) nor is he American. You can't even use Syaoran and Sakura as examples of real world things, as I am 90% sure Japanese cities and towns are not surrounded by desert.
And unless someone can prove to me that France is never ending tundra with a floating castle (with shiny wing things 8D), I will never believe Fai is French. ._.

I've noticed lately that the spoilers tend to only highlight a small portion of the chapter. The ones for the last chapter made it seem like the whole chapter consisted of Fai's past, when in reality it was only around 2 pages. Wouldn't put it past it being the same here.
I don't really mind a chapter of just talking so long as we learn something, but some more action would be nice. -_-

Apparently the FaixSakura shippers all skipped the chapter in Piffle where Fai was getting all shippy and "oh, heartwarming~" over Syaoran and Sakura, moments before having a little heart-to-heart with his vampire love slave there.
FaixSakura is just so platonic. Fai is very gentlemanly (remember him holding her hand to help her up in Jade?) so it really doesn't mean anything that he'd kiss her hand.
"My only princess" seems like a bizarre line to me, though. Does Fai know a lot of princesses? What's the significance of Sakura being the only one?

Yes, Fai's relationship with Sakura is more platonic than anything else, although I admit i'm quite surprised about all the afection that he's having with her recently... still, like you said, he's gentlemanly so it's no big deal...

I don't think he known any princesses, honestly, perhaps only a prince at one point in time. So, he has never "served" or "cared" for a princess.
This puts more backing behind Chii as well. Meaning, I think, that Chii and Fai DON'T have a romatic relationship. If they did, it would have been possible for him to see her as a "princess". However, since Sakura is the only one he has ever treated her as such, this puts more evidece out that Chii resembles more of a pet to Fai, then as a lover.

I agree with R!Syaoran probably feeling guilty about the whole Sakura thing. And he's got that attachment to Watanuki that seems rather important to him. Which may or may not have anything to do with anything, but it's pretty much stumped me.

To be honest, I'm a little confused about Fai's, Syaoran's and Sakura's real feelings. I don't like FaiXSakura pairing. It's kinda cute but......
I still don't like it.
I'll kick someone if Sakura falls in love with Fai or something like it!!!

At this point it's very hard to know what does everyone feel, specially R!Syaoran. He probably feels guilty like most of you said, and we're yet to see him caring and watching over Sakura all the time like C!S did
About SakuraxFai, I dont think it will happen. Sakura belongs to Syaoran and that's it >.<

If Fai is swearing loyalty to Sakura as a princess, that should make it glaringly obvious the status of their relationship as he views it. He's going to protect her like a subject to royalty would, but it is significant in that Fai is going to be focusing on something that requires him to live.
If you think about it, he can't exactly die or be killed and protect her, now can he? So that means that he's going to have to rely on Kurogane, doesn't it? ;)
