Effective June 18, 2006, Live Evil announced that they are no longer subbing Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle due to the ignorance of their translator. Dattabayo is still willing to go on with the project if they find a suitable translator. You can read more about it here. (http://www.live-evil.org/)
Minna-san, for those who are fluent in Japanese, and want Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle to continue airing, please contact Dattabayo and help if at all possible. I'm sure none of us want Tsubasa to end.

Wheee. And the emos have hit. Officially.
It's times like these I wish I had taken summer classes to speed up my learning japanese. >_<;
-
T_T Let's be emo together, Suu. *hugs*
-
I'm gonna be taking this class that teaches japanese for 6 weeks but...I'm not sure if I can help at all 'til then (or if at all). @.@; Wow, this is a big bomb dropped upon us all...
*goes into emo-mode with Suu and Moon*
-
DX I won't be good enough till next summer, so just let me join the writhing mass of emo. *flop*
Hey, not like I know how to subtitle videos anyhow. XD
-
Hmm... I have some contacts but I doubt they'll do it.
-
Wow... that is emo. At first I thought they'd just drop NANA, but Tsubasa as well? This really is bad news...
And I don't know anyone who'll be able to translate it. I'm not good at listening to Japanese by the ear... >_<
-
Eh, I thought there are other groups like yugioh subbing trc too? ._.
-
no wonder my friends said there was no sub in the anime
this is definitely not right
first one's licensed now the second one has no subbing
-
There's Yugioh... But they seriously cut corners. >_>; And evidence of that is in some of their song subtitles.
The romanji read: Ki ga tsuitenai kimi wa mada
The kanji read: Ki ga tsuitenia *insert wrong kanji* wa mada.
*Emo~*
-
If any of you are interested in helping to translate this project for DB, please contact me.
And please keep my identity a secret thanks. I'll let you know more when you contact =)

yes, YGO is the only group subbing now. from what i heard on LE's now locked tsubasa thread, the other groups ripped off of LE/DB's subs and seeing as how YGO's low par subs are all we got left, im emo as well :(
for your critquing..heres a comparison between the 2 grups:

(not mine. someone posted this on animesuki's board.
-
YGO ain't that great....
"i always want to always stay with Fay"
i saw that repeating words mistake a lot during the episode
-
All our translators are quite busy during this time, and we are on a strict schedule, so unless we have a new CAPABLE and RELIABLE translator, we're going to have to stop subbing it.
-
I guess I'll get more YGO trans then...
*cant be emo, too blonde* lol
Oh & I didnt make this but I thought it was funny. Lucky this happened now and not earlier this month or everyone here would have balck eyes o.x

;__; I feel so sad... I guess that's what emo means... >.< I don't wanna stick with Animax's dubs! I hope they find a translator soon, I don't think I want to stcik with YGO either... I didn't have a choice but to download YGO's ep 32...
*hugs new chibi Saku and Syao figurines for comfort and joins the emo group as well, even though she's not sure what emo means*
-
(starts swinging HFS)
Whoever's going to do Tsubasa must not disappoint us this time XD. I'll wait, as patiently as I can....
-
*joins in waiting* But I wanna see ep 33 subbed! >.< *crosses fingers and prays for the best*
-
That's so sad... ;_; I hope some other fansub group would continue the project... *being emo like the others*
-
And there is still a (slight) chance that LE will continue with TRC.

Hope they work something out, its no absolute but there might be a slimmer of hope there :D

Ah, yokatta de. That is truly good news. Hopefully an arrangement can be worked out so that Tsubasa will air again. Thank you for posting that SLi. That certainly clears things up. *sigh of relief*
-
Noooo....This is such sad news for fans... I hope someone can step in!

from what i understood on LE's tsubasa board, all the other groups just ripped off of Tufu's
-
I'm so... depressed. *Goes full out emo mode*. *Sob* Man. This really made my horrible day go from bad to much, much worse. I feel like crying right now. *prays that a suitable translator will be found* I wanna bang my head a on the wall right now. *clings to Syaoran-kun* Noooo... don't leave me...
It's a race against time... one week to find a translator or Tsubasa Chronicles is officially dropped. Oh, dear. *joins the emo crowd*

L-E's subs are really good. I don't like the way YGO subs, from the font to the mistranslations to the awkwardness of the phrasing >.<" LIVE-EVIL WE LOVE YOU!
-
I hope they find a translator soon...
But anyway, I don't think any of us have a right to complain about subs right now. ^^; YGO subs are actually pretty decent and its all we have at the moment. Not being directed towards anybody but I'm just saying...=]

as long as they don't start with spelling Syaoran's name as Shaoran the subs are fine by me XD
-
*sigh*
I guess we have to be patient now and hope Live Evil will continue to sub TRC...
And DB, to have a new translator...
-
YGO's subs seem ok, but i hope LE comes back. And Kuro-Pupy, the Tsubasa dvd i brought of ebay spells Shaoran as Xiolan. A bit chinise isnt is?
-
that's too bad... i hope DB finds a new translator soon!!! YGO subs are fine with me, I really appreciated their efforts..
-

Sounds like a bootlegged copy... @__@ Cause they always change the names usually to the Chinese version of it.
-
Im starting to think that also. It skips the starting and ending parts alot, and the translation is innicurate, and some parts are not even subbed........
-
Well, i hope L-E finds a good translator soon, many TRC fans will cry if they don't get subs.... o.0
-
I would help, but i dont understand much japenese, i am learning it now, but if there is anything me and my 56k modem can do to help, sing out......
-

Oh yes... then that is definitely a bootleg. That's all right... I tend to buy those as well cause they're cheap. >_< The biggest problem is what's been mentioned. Change of names, removal of opening and ending songs and more than often, really bad translations. It's very hard to find a good one.
At the moment, I don't mind sticking to YGO. As long as the subbing is fine and the translations are understandable, I don't mind.
-
Its hard downloading good eposides on dial up, thats why i looked on ebay. Atleas i got to see season one......
-

what the?! they used Syaoran's chinese name in the sub of that dvd?! (and the chinese name is spelled wrong too)
that's definetly a bootleg dvd you got there
-
One thing all of us has to remember is that the people that are subbing Tsubasa are taking their time and effort to do this and not getting anything in return. If we were paying for this to be done, we would have every right to complain, so try to be patient and just hope that somebody will sub it. I'm upset just like everyone else, but complaining and getting angry will not make the process go any faster.
-
Yeah, i agree with moezy-chan . Somebody will sub it eventualy, and we have to be grateful to LE for all the work they have allready done for Tsubasa
-
I hope Dattebayo finds a good translator soon. Last week, I had suspicions that L-E would drop the project. There was a forum war between the mods complaining about how Tofu-Sensei spent more time on Nana and Tsubasa (hence the timely releases), and not so much time on the other projects, when Tsubasa is a project that most of L-E isn't working on.
This is the first time I watched YGO's episodes, and I think they are decent. However, they occassionally have awkward grammer, so I've always preferred L-E and Dattebayo's version. I'm glad at least one group is still subbing Tsubasa. :)
And I have to agree with Moezy and those of you out there that say that we need to be thankful for the fansubs; fansubbing is a lot of hard work and nobody is getting paid for it. I'm part of a scanlation group (an editor), and that's already a lot of work on top of real life. Another one of my friends is a QC/editor/mod for a fansub group [Anime Kraze], and he complains to me all the time about how difficult it is to manage projects, chase down people, do the work, and prepare for med school.
-
Indeed. I can't agree any more on what wetheril said.
