Syaoran mentioned he died during the evacuation of Clow's ruins in vol. one. Exactly how? It's not explained...

Maybe because of an illness! Because he saied he was happy with his life and so on...I expect that someone who is ill would say something like this when he is lying in his bed.

Why does it matter when Fujitaka and Clowreed met?

Anyway, I too think he died of some illness. I did think about it occasionally, but I doubt he died a mysterious death. I also doubt he was murdered. It's a possibility, but I think Syaoran would've mentioned it then.

I agree with Meowzy. It would've been mentioned if something terrible did happen to Fujitaka. But by the way Syaoran had put it, Fujitaka died peacefully.

As to whether Fujitaka and Clow Reed have met, it's obvious that they knew each other (as seen in book 4) where Fujitaka introduced Syaoran. As to whether there's something special between Fujitaka and Clow Reed in Tsubasa, I'm not sure.

Yeah, you see Clow and Fujitaka talking to each other in the manga, and in one of the first episodes of the anime. I think later on too, when Sakura and Syaoran are introduced to each other. But I might be thinking of the manga now... I always mix things up.

Fujitaka and Clow Reed did meet each other in the manga. I've gone by the assumption that it was Clow Reed who most likely hired Fujitaka to explore the ancient archeological sites of the Clow Kingdom. I also came under the assumption that he passed away almost in the same fashion as Sakura's mother Nadeshiko did when she was young...due to a prolonged illness. This keeps the connection between CCS and TRC :wink:

I think that Clow knew Fujitaka from a long time ago, which was why her let him excavate the ruins...but I personally think that Fujitaka didn't die naturally, because I'm still chasing Syaoran's mysterious past....my theory is that Fei Wong had something to do with his death, even if it wasn't violent.

Hmmm...I kind of like that theory. Now I'm intriqued by that for some reason...

Yeah that could be possible...I mean Fei Wong is a really terrible guy and it seems like he wanted Syaoran to make the journey with Fye, Kurogane

Maybe he thought Syaoran wouldn't go when his father is alive...eh no Syaoran would go but maybe Fujitaka wouldn't let him go...
or something like that...^^
