It has more practical application to everyday life. How often are you going to sense a magic feather, especially compared to how often you are going to see something impressive?

But it is fun to pop out "Mekyo" and random times when you feel like it, and then it doesn't have to mean anything at all.

But still, my vote goes to "hyuu"

When i think of Mekyo, it reminds me of a spazzing Mokona. Not very pretty.

But I like both mekyo and hyuu and - although I can actually whistle, albeit not brilliantly...haha...- I tend to go 'Hyuu' when confused or surprised.

Kyu for when I'm tired and bleh.

Kya (or Nya) for when I'm happy.

Hyuu and Kweh for confusion, and in hyuu's case, surprise as well.

Half the time I don't realise I'm making those noises until my friends go: ...Aw, you just said 'kweh/kya/kyu/hyuu' again!

Everytime im writing to them or talking to them I'll go hyuu and they dont say anything about it. None of them read manga they dont understand why its backwards. lol.
