Title: How did you discover TRC?
Post by: Lexi on April 11 2005, 10:07 am: I remember I'd gone to my friend's house to see a movie. She had left me in her bedroom to check out some of her magazines while she got us some snacks. I was so bored anyway so I started flipping through the pages and I saw some CCS fanart...but that's not what made my heart skip several beats. I reached the middle or so of one of the magazines, and found heaven on earth - Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE (Chapter 1)

I had almost fainted when I saw Sakura and Syaoran from CCS...in a new manga and a new style!!! I was beaming so much when my friend came back. I practically pounced on her and demanded her to tell me what it was. Compared to my excitement, she was so bored upon seeing it. She said it was a short story about Sakura and Syaoran after CCS.

Short or not, I was blissful and asked her if I could borrow the magazine. But she refused, telling me she had to return it to her friend. It was ok tho~ as long as I saw my precious S+S again in another manga.

Well, now that "short story" has turned out to be more than 10 volumes long, which I'm very happy about~ The main point is that I'll never forget how I fell in love at first sight with TRC :love4:Â *Oh, I'm so emotional atm :cry: Sorry about this, guyz~*

Well, I have an awesome best friend from Japan and her name is Kimiko. She was a foreign exchange student at my middle school and we decided to keep in touch with one another since she lives in Japan and I live here in Cali. The point of this is that while I was viewing her webcam, I saw a stack of shounen magazines and asked her if I could see them.

Meaning, she lifted and flipped all the pages for me while I drooled over the webcam. XD She then showed me a cover of (guess?) TRC right in front! Low and behold I saw Syaoran and Sakura. I asked and bugged her about it and she told me. She then started scanning and emailing
things over to me from Japan and that's how our bond started.

Basically, I've been a fan since May 21, 2003. ^__^ I'll never forget that day...it was awesome! :cool:

(Oh, how I want to kick myself for thinking that now :angry:) Even when I saw some pics of CCS in a magazine (kinda the way I saw TRC :)), I refused to like it. (Talk about dumbly stubborn!) Then finally my best friend lent me some CCS manga and forced me to read it. I ended up reading the whole series and eventually falling in love with it :inlove:

So, as you can see my first impression of CCS and TRC were very different. CCS was hate into love while TRC was just love into more love. (TRC was lucky because I already knew S+S from CCS, so that's why I liked it more at first :tongue:)

i met a classmate at the galleria, and we decided to go to the bookstore...luckily, she was also a manga fan >.<. TRC was on the "new releases" shelf that time, but I didn't notice it e_e. But then I saw how strangely familiar the boy's face looked like Syaoran from CCS,. and so then,.it turned out it actually was Syaoran-kun^^;.
but if I hadn't met my classmate at the galleria, I probally wouldn't have known about...or be this obssesed....with TRC^^

Post by: Bao_Nhia_Yang on April 11 2005, 12:53 pm: wow.. you all have interesting stories.. :D... me... i was just surfing through the net looking for more ccs pics as always.. this was early jan last year... then i came upon this site.. i forgot which site it was... but then.. i scrolled pass the picture and just down the page..when i scrolled back up.. i looked at the picture... i guess it was a scan of shonen jump magazine or something... i was like.. that looks like sakura and syaoran. Then i read the article and IT WAS S&S!!! i was wishing to jump around and scream!! but then i kept myself down.. trying to find LOTS of information about it...

it was stupid too cause.. i didn't it wasn't out yet in U.S. so i told my brother to look for it at the anime store.. -_-; i felt dumb then when i found out it wasn't out until may? forgot the month but there's my story!! :D

I wasn't planning to buy anything and was juz glancing when i saw a manga cover with characters that look a bit like syaoran and sakura. I read the summary at the back of the manga and found it strange that the characters are also named sakura and syaoran. Then i juz put the manga back on the shelf.

The 2nd time was when i was sufing through the website of that same comic store. There were news abt clamp's latest two releases. One was xxxholic and the other was TRC. THEN I knew that TRC was a crossover of clamp's works. I hurried over to the store and finally i bought it.

Post by: Tune on April 11 2005, 08:40 pm: mine's a pretty short discovery, i was buzzin thru xxxholic at BWY and even though tsubasa rc was on scans there at that time, i dint bother coz i dint KNOW (stupid me~ :P), then i saw the chapter in xxxholic that there was the cross-over that syaoran asked yuuko to save sakura (i was like "what is HE doing there??") coz i had a habit of dling the newest manga/anime then backwards the oldest (big mistake~duh!!!), then i went to CLAMP's official webby to find confirmation for my confusion & slight suspicion & AHA~!! SO THAT'S TSUBASA RC~!!

yes, i was practically in a goose-chase~ :P

Post by: lumizstar on April 11 2005, 11:27 pm: My buddie was a super-fan of Syaoran, and she introduced to me TRC (cuz her favourite character is the mai >.<)and practically forced me to read it at first :P If I just looked at this CCS AU thing, I wouldn't have picked it up, but rather I love the cross-overs :)

Lols, I was like that.. kinda.. with cc. It was lame looking back, but good thing i did watch it. ha ha.

But back to how I discovered TRC...

I was browsing round amazon... I think.. and saw tons of CCS. I really wanted the series, badly. I typed in 'CLAMP' at one point just out of fun. I then saw this picture... and it showed S+S [it was book 3] and i was like 'Wow, those two look like Sakura and Syaoran!' ((well doh xD)) so I found book 1, which had the same thing, and read the info and was like... 'OMG.... i don't believe it...' and I wouldn't believe it at first, till I started telling my mum about it. I got #1 for my bday [24th Dec 04] and was like, I WANT MORE!!! GIVE ME MORE!!! So I ordered the next two.. so.. my enthralling story of getting TRC.

me.. I knew about it just a few days after Clamp released in Japan the 1st volume back in um....2003? I was thrilled to see S+S back again in action after reading chapter 1. I went on reading a few more of the scanlated chapters and well I was hooked in the story because of the crossovers and the different countries and of course.. S+S. :inlove:

But as I was also busy with my studies, I stopped reading TRC in volume 2 or 3 I think.. After a year, I heard the news about TRC having an anime! So I quickly went back to reading the manga and bought Del Rey's version too. (can't buy Japanese manga.. >.<)

After a few more months, I decided to make this site... but that's out of the question.

Now that it's out, I've enjoyed it...issue #2 to me the best of the series so far. The thing that hurts is the year's lag time between translations of the Japanese-to-English.

I clicked on a link, read the storyline, and I've been hooked ever since! Haven't been able to buy more than four volumes though.Â :inlove:

She was at the airport in Atlanta on her way back to Panama, and she went to a store, checking out books, and then she sees a whole section of manga (immediately she was "summoned" to it). While perusing the titles she saw the cover of a manga featuring Sakura and Syaoran, and she bought it as a gift for me. Ever since we've been buying the graphic novels. We haven't even read scans or anything not to spoil, so I'm walking in this forum with one eye open and one eye closed LOL. Like two days after I read vol. 1 a friend of mine who also is into manga told me that she was checking some titles on amazon and that she saw TRC, so I told her that I already had book 1. Now she is buying xxxHolic and I buy TRC, and we exchange the stories (my sister is buying Imadoki, by Yuu Watase among others, so we 3 try to keep very updated in the stories..) and that way is not that expensive for everybody.

when i check out my magazine i found a small article w/ a tsubasa pic (OMG !!! the pic is so small! )
in the next minutes i started to browse all site w/ tsubasa pic or some info about it
and when i discover TRC will be in anime i'm so happy !!! ^^

well, it was from ccs website- and i thought she was kidding when she said, there was going to be a manga on s and s (as she said there was going to be a season 4 of ccs- so i didnt believe her) till going thru a few sites i saw that they too had posted the name TRC up so i started to believe0 but info was limited so i didnt know what it was going to be abt. then i kinda forgot abt it!! :sweatdrop:

but when i went to hk last summer- i was rumaging everywhere for VCD/DVD of card captor sakura - i was 4 yrs too late so i thought all hope was lost!! :(- but i eventualy found them- all happy i was pratically skipping out the shop when i saw a manga shop and saw a picture of someone that looked like sakura- but older!! and then i realised that the name xiao long, was on the cover- i was like this is weird!- then i forgot abt it again- :sweatdrop: my parents were telling me to go- i dragged them everywhere- on all the highstreets looking for the VCD- so i had to go!
but i came across another manga shop and saw the book again- i was like- im getting it- see whats t abt- its was TRC book 2- and it costed me liek 80 dollars- like 8 pounds!! wow- nearly 10 quid a book (i want to get the manga- but its going to cost me like a lot!!! :( but i was surprised- im clueless to find that an anime was coming out- found out on this site!! and i was like-what??? OMG!! so m thinking nxt time i go bk- hopefully the chinese subbed will be out- vcd/dvd- and get them instead of the manga- have to sacrifice one of them- or if i get rich all of a sudden- get both! :okay:

I heard rumours about there being a second part for CCS and that was exactly what I was looking out for. When I found a summary on TRC, I was slightly disappointed that CCS wasn't continued and instead, a new story was brought out.

And then I searched for scanlations and found it to be absolutely amazing! There were more action and our darling Syaoran was the main character at last!

I buy the Japanese version of TRC... yeah I can read it. But not so well, mind... @.@

But I happened to be poking around Barnes and Noble one day when I bumped into some friends (also nerdy manga/anime fans, hehe) So we were talking and she told me about the new Syaoran and Sakura manga. Of course, neither of us was very interested (she didn't like CCS that much either), but we thought one of our OTHER friends might be! (Haha) So she actually bought it... Then I went home that night and sorta looked it up (as I do often when I'm bored). It looked cool, and since the friend in the bookstore was only going to LEND it to our other friend, I decided to be nice and BUY it for our other friend. But see, then I read it before giving it to her... And I was like :inlove: 'Screw that, this is MINE! BWAHAHAH!'

And such is my obsession!

I never got to follow the manga because IÂ´m kinda...ok , IÂ´m very impatient ^^u and I could not stand just getting a chapter in one month. Still I followed CCS anime faithfully and even cosplayed as Sakura back then. Last year..or was it the year before that? ...canÂ´t remember but I read the first chapter of the manga not long after it was published but something happened and did not continued to follow.

Then like two weeks ago I saw the first chapter of the anime and got curious to look at the rest of the mangaÂ´s story meanwhile chapter 2 came out. Searched through the net and found up to chapter 53. At first I was just planing on reading some ten or fifteen chapters but got hooked and read the whole thing the same day.

ThatÂ´s my story ^_^

saw the first episode.. *jaws dropped*!! LOVE it immediately! he also said i am lucky because he just downloaded it for fun.. apparently, the title caught his attention...

so just imagine if he did not see it.. i'll will be kept in the dark... living in the world with just CCS... *lol*

Post by: DarkWolfYoukai on April 25 2005, 06:34 am: my version is boring. i just went into borders to look while my mom waited outside. i saw xxxholic and read the back because it was by CLAMP. well, seeing the words Sakura, Syaoran, and the phrase from a land called Clow i pretty much had no doubt it was S+S. this excited me to no end and i rushed home to call my best friend with the news since we were both into CCS. the next time i went to buy xxxholic, i saw it crossed over with TRC. i frantically looked for TRC but borders didn't have it at that time -_-. so i bought xxxholic for the four panels S+S were in. it was only when i went to barns and noble that i saw and bought the first volume. hooked ever since. my best friend isn't as into it as i am, but she still enjoys reading it.

A friend lent me a book to try (this was in Nov. yeah kinda late but) I don't remember the title band I looked at the ads for other books on the back and saw the summary for the 3rd vol. thinking "what the heck is going on" for I was a big fan of CCS . when i went home that day, I searched Tsubasa on Google and amazon and just started grinning a whole lot. Yep, I got the 1st volume for my cousin (a month in advance so I could read it, hehe)

*regains consciousness* Oh ya, and that friend of mine who owned that magazine with the Tsubasa chapter, she was a fan of the manga for a couple of months and then she lost interest -_- So now I have nobody to talk to about TRC *except this beautiful forum of course* But nobody to scream to, "OMG! Tsubasa is the best!!!" kinda thing :sweatdrop: *When I told my friend about the Tsubasa anime a couple of weeks ago, she went, "So?"* So!? :dodge: Ok, I dont' wanna start with her. I'm still the bigger fan even if she did discover TRC first :XD: *me ish such a selfish fangirl*

Post by: *Keru* on May 03 2005, 08:50 am: Well I discover TRC when I was looking for pictures of sakura in the internet; it was back in june of 2004; I find the picture that appear in the first volume but I was thinking that it was just a Fan art then I find the same picture but in the cover of a magazine I opened the link and one of the most happy days of my life arrive. The picture was beside a news announcing that CLAMP was releasing a Manga with Sakura and Shaoran.

I was so happy that I couldnÂ´t believe what I was looking at so I beging to look for information and find a site to download the scanslations of the manga. Yeah I only could read scans because in my country nobody sells manga I am so sad. I am thinking to beging to import them really no one can enjoy the pleasure of reading a manga.

Well that is how I discover TRC.:D

I saw the cover of TRC 1 and thought, "What the heck! That looks just like Syaoran and Sakura!"
I read the description and couldn't believe it, they brought them back!!!

That was similar to how I got to know TRC too! I was in a comic store looking for CCS comics when I saw the second volume of TRC. At first, I did not recognise Syaoran but I was shocked to see Syaoran's name written in the blurb and decided to buy it and try reading it.

I've been a big CLAMP fan for a long time, though, so I was aware of it when it came out in the US, but didn't really pay it much attention, thinking it would be similar to CCS or confusing to follow for someone who wasn't familiar with CCS. I was more interested in Legal Drug and XXXholic.

Then I kept hearing from fans on different forums how good it was, and ending up playing in a TMM/TRC crossover RPG on a Tokyo Mew Mew board. I started getting really curious after that, and when I heard there was an anime coming out. So my next trip to Waldenbooks I picked up the first volume of TRC, debated a little while, decided I'd probably regret not buying the next volume of X instead, but since it was CLAMP, it couldn't be THAT bad, took it home, read it, and the rest is downhill from there. ^____^;

I was so sad for a few minutes then i got so excited that my sister had to threaten to knock me out if i did not calm down. Iol. I knew i would love it because sakura and syaoran were in it.

I"m so crazy in love with trc that i've made some of my friends who don't like anime and manga to become hooked!

Post by: fisah on July 04 2005, 12:37 pm: I found TRC by a google search one day when I was looking for some CCS scans for an avatar, and then I found Sakura and Syaoran older, holding each other [refering to volume 1 cover] and then I screamed bloody murder, hitting my self upside the head, thinking that I forgot about an episode or a manga chapter that showed them wearing those type of clothes...and looking so affectionate.

Then I looked up some more google searches, and asked around until I was told that TRC was a manga that crossovers with CCS and showed them older. Me being the uber obessed fangirl I am, went to amazon and ordered the first two volumes :sweatdrop:

Believe or not, that is entirely true, and yeah, I can be excessively scary when I dont know something as big as this :P

ZOMG really?! I had a math teacher who noticed I loved manga and all that jazz. At the end of the year when they gave out awards just to be funny he gave me "Most animeted Award." And he sent me to an anime drawing class since I drew Fai during class all the time. XP

That happens to me too. Some of my classmates would always come up to me and say "What manga did you bring today?". Most people would just go "why do you always read books backwards?"

i read it and liked it so i retured it and noted the title so i can buy the other volumes. i found from the book that xxxHOLiC crosses over with Tsubasa - Reservoir Chronicle. :keke: i didn't know where the school put thier database system where they note all their books so i assumed they didn't have tsubasa.

again all of a sudden i found tsubasa hitting me on the foot. OUCH :laughing4: i was like OMG! and i read and liked it. after that i bought the rest of the volumes and now i like the series a lot !!! :inlove: whoo! it is PURE HITSUZEN! no lie! :okay: i think it fell off the shelf or someone was having a bookfight, i didn't know for sure where those books came from, but it was from the school because it has their names on the book. HITSUZEN! :noteworthy:

My story is kinda similar to Kirakirainu-san's.
Anyway, a year ago last monday, I was working at a day camp with a couple of friends of mine. while we had a calm moment, I noticed my friend "ham-ham" flipping through a manga. I was fairly familiar, but wasnt obsessed, with a few series, one of them being cardcaptor sakura (volume one being my very first manga ^.^!). I'm shy, so I looked casually at the back of the book, and saw the headline "SAKURA AND SYAORAN RETURN!!"
And in a very manga-ish way, I blinked and looked at the picture. My suspicions were confirmed when I saw a different looking (but definatly sakura) picture of sakura with wings! *gasp* I squealed and said, OMG let me see that really quick!. She passed it to me and I began to read. I had to stop 8 pages in, about when sakura glomped Syaoran, because it was time to work, but the thought stuck in my mind. the next week, I went to borders to go manga shopping, (which I rarely did back then when I had 3 toal manga) and it caught my eye. and THAT was the begining of an addiction, which wa the beggining of a greater addiction to ccs, then X, then chobits, then clover, and then ALL CLAMP manga. It's my anti drug! :)

Edit, 16 months later: Zomg, I was such a n00b... XD *hides under bed*

I became a slight fan of the show when one day while I was watching it, and I saw a commercial of a new cartoon, starring on the WB: Cardcaptors.

I watched the show and I liked it, when one day my older sister who also was a fan of the show Cardcaptors went on the internet and found Cardcaptors Official Site, by Nelvana. I decided to go to that website and found another site from my search: Top Cardcaptors Sites. I looked at the various sites when I found a world separate from Cardcaptors; Card Captor Sakura.

Here I realized what the show was really like and after watching the last episode, when Syaoran's American counterpart, Li Showran, didn't reveal his feelings, my interests faded and I found out more about Card Captor Sakura thanks to one of my favorite websites, fanfiction.net. I read CCS fanfics on and off for maybe 3-4 years. My interest eventually died when one day it suddenly came back.Â I searched the internet for more websites on CCS when during my search led me to this site! It occured to me that I would probably never see CCS uncut so I satisfied my S&S craving with Tsubasa. And thanks to this website I was able to find Sakura Hybrid and finally see all my beloved CCS episode, but after watching them from beginning to end my interest waned slightly and this became my new love!

Since then I haven't missed a volume, and got all my friends hooked. I didn't discover the anime until about volume three. I was looking for wallpapers and found this place. :D Here I saw the link to the anime and began that collection. I'm really glad I found this place. It brings me nothing but joy. :XD:

I brought the first two volumes of it ( hardback and in japanese ) and then.. just after I finished purchasing them, I turned around and saw it in english! Oii! Well, around 2-3 years ago, I was still very much in love with CCS. Then somehow, suddenly, word got around that a new manga by clamp was released in Japan aka TRC, which comprised of Syaoran as the main character. ^^" That was the only thing I knew about it, but it still got a standard fan-girl reaction: "OMG SYAORAN SYAORAN SYAORAN SYAORAN SYAORAN?! Yeesssss! <33" xD Unfortunately comics from japan always take waaay long to get over to my country, so I waited...and waited...and forgot...;_;

Until my friend told me she had bought the first comic.*grin* She wasn't all that obsessed over it, so she gave it to me for a b'day present-- and my love for it started from there. ^^

I always buy this magazine called "Kreko" which means crazy people (about anime, manga & game of course!). I bought 1 that day, read the manga scanlations inside & flip to manga news section. then, OMG! O_o SAKURA & SYAORAN!!!! I immediately read about it & OMG! THEY BACK! I shouted at my brother who use the PC at that time, "I WANNA USE THE COMPUTER, NOW!" I search about it at yahoo and then found the scanlations & d/l it immediately. that's how I addicted to Tsubasa till now. :)
but, in that magazine, they didn't put "Tsubasa" in the news title. :sweatdrop: only put RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE. it's kinda hard to search at the net coz of the title.... :sweatdrop: and they say it's the continuation of CCS but they're wrong about it.... :sweatdrop:
and at my country, they sells the manga is SO EXPENSIVE! :cry:

I liked the character designs and thought the girl looked an awful lot like Sakura (I never could get into CCS), but wasn't sure if it was her. And I also remember thinking something like, "I bet if I took a quiz on this anime, I'd be that goofy looking guy with the dazed look and silly grin." In the end, I became overly curious and took a quiz and sure enough, I was Fai. My results variated between him and Mokona and I found a really cute fanart with them and used them as a display picture on Messenger.

My cousin and friend both saw the display picture and began telling me how great the manga was and I had to go and buy it and check out xxxHOLIC while I was at it. I actually didn' t intend to get it since I was spending enough money on manga as it was. I wound up at Amazon looking for a cheap copy of volume 1 and while trying to figure out the Super Savings on shipping I accidentally wound up buying volume 1 of Tsubasa. Guess I was fated to have it. Since I was gonna get it, I skimmed it at the store, found I really liked it and picked up volume 3 while there. (I read nothing in order)

But, anyway, now I have the first four volumes and absolutely love this manga. ^^ It's quickly become one of my favorites.

That amazing day happened in february of htis year 20005. :) a happy day! :)

Post by: Meza on December 13 2005, 01:19 am: I was shoppin' as usual at the bookstore (well, uh, we have only one o_O; ). Then I suddenly noticed huge amount of english manga. I was like "Wooot, what in the world is this?" since only english manga books I had ever seen in Finland, were in Helsinki (and I live like over 600 kilometers north from Helsinki).

So, I found out there was a contract with Suomalainen (that bookstore, there's few hundred of them in the country) and Del Rey, that was why they got Del Rey manga. I only wish there were a contract like that with Tokyopop and Viz, sigh.

But yeah, there were first volumes of Del Reys every series they started with. I first did not get interested with all those series they had, but I tried almost every of them. Tsubasa vol 1was a third one to try out. And yes, I happened to like it. And yeah, few days before buying TRC, I had already bought xxxholic vol 1.

I still use to buy my Delreys from our bookstore, since I can check their condition before buying - and they are less expensive than in archonia (which is where I buy 90% of my manga). It's so lucky that our store gots newest volumes right away when they are published (or sometimes even before, but that's probably when date is changed).

I left that section and my sister took me back there and showed me the first one and explained that it was S+S from CCS.I felt so stupid that I hadn't noticed it AND SHE DID :angry:.Â Not fair :sad5:. I ended up buying that book that night and reread all the CCS books that night before I read the first TRC book. I am now hooked on TRC :inlove:

I was reading the last manga of CCS and in the translator's note i found the notice about a crossover between holic and tsubasa!! I couldn't believe it! So, we (me and my sisters) started searching about tsubasa, but the thing was that they had only released the first chapter at that moment!!! We were desperate to fin something else! We wanted to read more about Tsubasa and the love story between Sakura and Syaoran!!!

Well I saw something called Tsubasa Reservior Chronciles. I was like "What is this?" I picked it up and saw Sakura and Syaoran on the cover. I was like "OMG!" I thought that maybe it was a sequel to CCS or something. Well I read the back of the first volume and found out that it was a CLAMP crossover series. Well that made me put it back for some odd reason. Which I totally regret now because I could have already read like a ton of it. I think that I'm going to watch the anime though. But anyways a few weeks ago I was looking at some CCS fansites and TRC stuff was everywhere so I'm like I'm gonna check this stuff out this time. So now I'm trying to get as much info as possible and I'm either gonna watch the anime or read the manga.

I'm probably gonna be a big fan girl now. Especially since I love Sakura and Syaoran. :inlove:

I only knew about CCS and I was talking to a friend about it when he mentioned the story Tsubasa and that Syaoran and Sakura were in it. I realized I could download the episodes through the Bear Share software I have. I downloaded the first season of Tsubasa and I'm still downloading the last episodes (Yes. I am starting from the last to the beginning instead of the beginning to the last. I am a little big confused but I like to spoil myself. Once I've seen all of the episodes, I won't be confused about the cards.]. I basically found it out through a friend.

So, me and my friends went to Waldenbooks while we were waiting for the next round. My friend confronted me, and made me read manga one of TRC. I fell in love right away. However, after finding a site which hosted CCS episodes, I was bored in waiting for more releases and discovered that they had Tsubasa episodes as well, and I figured "what the heck, there might be something on how things work out between Touya and Yukito, or even Tomoyo and Sakura", and, well, you can probably figure out the rest...

About two years ago I was on the bus with my Inuyasha manga supplier, totally hitting her up for manga to borrow cause I was bored. Well, she was probably trying to distract me so she showed me a picture she drew (I didn't know who they were at the time, but it was that picture of Sakura and Syaoran (closeup) when they're pressed against the glass in that chamber from the first few pages of the manga) and I was like, 'Woah, cool! But the art is kinda funny...'

And she was like, "Here, look, isn't it cool?" And being a total weirdo I was like "MANGA" and started reading it. I got into it a little and begged her to let me borrow it, but she hadn't finished and took it home. I never got to read it from her.

About a year or so later, I found CCS fanfiction and fell in love. I bought several of the books (sadly from the Master of Clow arc, so I got majorly confused) and fell in love with Sakura and Syaoran. My collection of CCS grew and my fanfiction attention turned from the sad Inuyasha stories to the slightly more diverse CCS ones.

One day, my bookstore had no CCS books and so I turned around, looking for something to read. Cause I'm an addict. DNAngel? No, I borrowed from my friend. Kamichama Karin? Borrowed it. Inuyasha? Had most of them. I was completely losing it, about to die if I didn't have SOMETHING to get, and then I SAW IT. Right there, the word CLAMP caught my eye and I was on it. When I saw Sakura and Syaoran my interest was hooked.

But I was afraid and didn't buy it, instead leaving the store dejectedly. A few days later, my friend was going to the mall and I was begging her to buy me the first few manga of Tsubasa because the interest and need to read SS was killing me. She brought back 2 and 3 because they didn't have the first one, but I was hooked anyway. I began zooming online, surfing for pictures and stories and the result is what you see before you.

A fanatic.

Ages ago I was getting Chobits from BWYS. I got a couple of chapter of TRC and read them but didnt really get into it and let it be - I was quite the CCS fan at one point and I didnt really like them resuing the characters, it seemed like fanfiction to me - esp when I found out it was an AU series crossover O.o. At that point I was getting Naruto weekly, and FMA hadnt caught up to japan in scanlations. Then I started running out of manga. I went back to BYWS and got pretty much everything they had direct, which was a great big pile of Holic and TRC. I read TRC again - for more than 2 or 3 chapters this time and gradualy got more and more into it, though with holic I was in love by the end of the 3rd chapter. And now here I am waiting anxiously for the chapter every week lol. I grew to love TRC

I was in the midst of one of my Card Captor Sakura obsessions (I have a tendency to get obsessed with CCS, Harry Potter and a few other things over and over) and I was just thinking how amazing it would be if CLAMP continued the series somehow.. when I walked into the manga shop in my town - straight into a display of TRC. I remember staring at it and thinking "Wow. They really look like Sakura and Li..".. then I saw the "by CLAMP" and I grabbed the book and turned it over to look at the back cover. I swear my heart stopped for a second. I raced to the counter to buy it and I read it on the bus back home, squee-ing as I turned each page. That was back in.. early 2004? It was only just released in England (or the manga shop had only just got it in stock anyway).

It is quite scary how a lot of these stories seem to have been fate o.o

I was browsing around for the last volume I needed of CCS, and I saw this thing which looked like Sakura and Syaoran (Called 'Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle'. Ohohoho.) it wasn't out, and was available for pre-order, but I ignored it.

After it came out though, curiousity got the better of me, and I ordered it off of Amazon. I had to wait about 10 days for it to arrive (new titles always take so long...) but I got it, read it, and LOVED it.

Now I have all the eight available english volumes (haha) and am official OBSESSED. <3

I made a friend through it too. She works at my local manga shop, and holds back merchandise XD Like these little Mokona Capsules with a figure inside. She held two back for me because they were Tsubasa. We love spazzing about Tsubasa. And KuroFai...XDD

I was thinking, "What is that, something about them becoming grown-ups already?" Well, I decided to just do a bit of research, found several manga scans over the net, and, well, the rest is history.

Since I mentioned something about this pic, can somebody here tell me where could this come from? I'm not sure if this is fanart, but I don't think it's not CLAMP's.

but then a couple of months later I saw they had TRC on sale and I got all hyper remembering that this was the manga with Sayoran and Sakura in it, so being the huge CCS fan I was I bought it...and yeah, I thought it was continuing on with the CCS story, I was wrong (as always :dodge:)

Post by: adi-chan on April 23 2006, 01:23 am: lol during my chemistry class before the start of a chemistry quiz in the computer lab, i discovered TRC from clamp's website. i was looking out for X, then suddenly amidst all the japanese kanji (gibberish to me =.=;;) i recognised syaoran's characters... so one thing lead to another, using altavista's service of traslating pages, i somehow found out in broken english that there is a sequel!!! so glad i found that info that i squealed in my class! haha.. and would have been kicked out of class if we weren't having a test! =X

After that I read the first chapter online and lost track of it for a year or so until DelRey started publishing the translation. I found the anime back in September when I remembered that I was really behind on Naruto and visited the Dattebayo site.

On the homepage, a pic of Syaoran and Sakura popped up, but "they looked different!" I was like, "what the heck is that anime and where can I find it!?!?!" A description of the series was written below, and I was like, "heck yeah am I going to fall in love with this series! It looks so awesome! Plus, it has Syaoran in it!!" That also rekindled my fangirl lovey-dovey-kawaiiness for Syaoran :)

One day, I was looking for Cardcaptor Sakura pictures to make some blogs for neopets (this is a long time ago people). And I found some Images with Syaoran and Sakura older, and two other werid looking people, so I though it was just fanart.

A couple months later, I went into a book store to buy some chobits manga, but they didn't have my volume in (it took them 5 months to bring it in o.O), so I was looking for other manga to read, and I am across "Tsubasa (Reservoir) Chronicle". And it was by CLAMP. I love CLAMP, so I look into it. I saw Sakura and Syaoran in the glass, and I was like ok?? I didn't look anymore into the book. Well I read the part about the cross over with xxxHOLic, so I look into xxxHOLic. And that me go crazy. Not the good way I mean. I didn't even look in the rest of the books. I thought someone stole Syaoran and Sakura. So I left it. I left with so many questions like. Is that really them? What happen to them?? what is with that glass thing?? Why did they go into xxxHOLic?? I never did look up any information. I was suc* into chobits, at the time :sweatdrop:

So, a couple of months later (which was five, becasue chobits finally came in), I pick up chobits book I wanted, and the next book I needed wasn't there. So I had money for another book. So I look at a book I look at before. I pick it up, and I was like, "OH well", and I bought it

So now, months later, I'm a big, big fan of TRC, and even now a bigger fan of CCS. I found a new website, and met many new friends from all over the world. So, I'm happy that I bought the book. Now, I get about the xxxHOLic cross over but not about the glass thing, yet....but we are getting there soon clamp, will give it away...i hope.. :shifty:

So this is my story on how I found out about TRC. Isn't it funny how long it took me to buy the book. But now, I can't live with out it. >_> I'm a really weird person.

then last year, when I'm at Kinokuniya (again) waiting for my friend, I just bored and try read tge english one of volume 5, then I found out that the story actually very interesting, so...I start collecting again... :tongue:, and now, I REALLY LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! :inlove: :rotfl:

so anyway, all my friends in that SxS account were of course fans of CCS as well... so i was looking at the photos they have... and i stumbled upon this photo of TRC Sakura and Syaoran...

but my first impression was, "Hey! It's Sakura and Syaoran! And they're grown up!" so i got the photo... i got a couple of those TRC pics without even knowing it was TRC!
then i read the caption on it, it said 'Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle' so i was wondering, "what the hell is that?" and i was saying in my mind, "isn't it supposed to be CCS or something??" (i'm such a baka for that... :dodge:) anyway, i still thought of it as CCS... but eventually started to call it 'tsubasa something something." (seriously, i called it that). then I was doing some research on CCS and then found out that there was this crossover manga that had Sakura and Syaoran. so i was like, "So that's what it is." but I wasnt interested in reading it.

then my friend from school had the first volume of xxxHOLiC (and also of TRC, but that part comes later). my other friends said it was nice so I read it. then I got to the part of Syaoran appearing and asking Yuko-san "Can you help me save Sakura?" and there you go. i was hooked on both xxxHOLiC and TRC...

my grandma even scolded me once for going home late (my dismissal back then was 3:30 but I came out at around... 4:10)... i was reading TRC manga in the library with my other friend Pam... and when the librarian told us it was closing time for the library, that's when we noticed it was already late... :sweatdrop:

so that's my story of it...

I thought i must have this and bought it! After the first volume i've been hooked!

I saw some pictures of Tsubasa Sakura and Syaoran, but I didn't think it was true. I checked it out, I liked the summary and I went to watch the anime, it was pretty good. (UNTIL BEETRAIN BUTCHERED IT!) Then I went to buy the manga the next day. I loved it! And then I was curious about xxxHOLiC, and the same thing happened. And I started to check ladydarkmoon's LJ for updates on new chapters.

I though it sounded funny but I had no thought about buying it. But when I visited the store a couple of days later just when I was about the pay for my other manga books and leave i saw that they were selling Tsubasa. I had some money over so I bough it too. :D Good thing i did! If I haden't I would probably never start to read TRC.

I was looking through pre-made layouts at soundless-words.net, and stumbled upon one with Sakura and Yuuko (xxxholic though). I thought Sakura looked somewhat familiar, and didn't look like a doujinshi art. So I googled xxxHolic, found some random site, then saw a link to Tsubasa. I clicked it and read the storyline, then BAM! I fell in love with it <3. 'Twas "hitsuzen" XD.

i really like this magazine....it is called "GEMPAK".it has many information of anime,games,comics,movies & all about media!!one day,i saw the magazine.i decided to buy it.and then i realised that are a pic of Sakura & Syaoran.i thought they're older in CCS.
my older sis read it!!grr....!!and then she told me the creator is CLAMP.i said "who is CLAMP???" and then she said "the creator of Cardcaptor Sakura!!"

after she finished read it,my turn.i read it.it is a new anime made by CLAMP "Tsubasa RESERVOiR CHRoNiCLE".

It's strange that your sister found TRC to be boring... Seriously, I've seen better reviews for the manga than in the anime. It's nice that you still like TRC even if you've been watching it for one year XD.

I got curious when I saw in the manga section a picture of what looked like Syaoran and Sakura.. and I thought maybe that it was a sequel to CCS- which I liked in its time.
I was such a Syao-lover, so I picked it up. I was hoping Clamp would develop this character better than in CCS.
I began reading it... THEN if found Fye and LKurogane- and became an immediate KuroFyeist! XD
Sorry Syao, you and Sakura are definately adorable together ans have a special spot in my heart, but Fye and Kuro together is just hawt!

So anyway, before I became an otaku and knew better, I was a large fan of Cardcaptors. It was one of my favorite childhood shows. (Hate it now though.) My online friend started telling me about TRC and Holic and my first impression was, "That sounds confusing." Then a couple months later a different (IRL) friend brought over a bunch of manga for me to read and included were the only Del Rey volumes that had been released, one and two. I asked to borrow them (I was intrigued even though I barely remembered Cardcaptors at all) and she said yes. I was actually kind of bored of it at first until Kurogane and Fay came in, and I was sold. I kind of have an appreciation for TRC because it was what got me out of American, commercialized anime and into the realm of Intarwebs distribution (I was immediately obsessed and went onto the Internet and searched for anything useful. I found I Hyu Because ... Yes and BlueSkies, followed a few links, and the rest is history), so now I can get as much out of my manga as I want. It's kind of nice, being enlightened (and not spending any more money that I really have to; hello, I like parentheses).

And I saw one with a "weird pic of a weird Syaoran and Sakura". And I started to read. At first I said "Nah... maybe I won't like it, Sakura and Syaoran being in other world and all that stuff???"
A few weeks later I got a "copy" of the Manga. I didn't liked that much, but it was quite interesting. So, then I downloaded the first episode, and specially the music, I fell in love with the story!!!

Post by: kixie on October 13 2006, 01:06 am: I've been following Clamp's regular updates on forums since... *trying to remember* probably volume 16 of X and then the hiatus began for X and Gouhou Drugs. I knew they'd have to bring something out eventually and then I heard they were starting up Tsubasa and yeah, I've followed it from the very first chapter until today and I'll follow it to the end.

Actually it was Tsubasa that started me keeping up to date with my manga and now I do it for anything I collected, though waiting for Tsubasa is nothing compared to waiting for Viewfinder which is bimonthly.

I've followed Tsubasa anime from the start too but gave up on that when they started using fillers. I'll go back when it restarts in season 3 just to see if Beetrain have been scolded or not.

I had heard of both Tsubasa and xxxholic, but just by the description, I wasn't entirely sure if I was interested. So I went to go check out Tsubasa first. I got bored pretty much with the first episode and dropped it. Then I came back a couple of months later, and gave both episode one and two, another try. I have to admit, if it wasn't for Kurogane & Fay, I probably wouldn't have watched Tsubasa. But anyhoo, yes, I watched the anime first before I read the manga (Thank god I did end up reading the manga. Now I know how terrible the anime is compared to it.) & It was because of TRC, I was convinced to watch xxxholic & X, and now I'm in love with the works of CLAMP. ~~Even though I hate the fact that they got us running around like some crazy dogs, begging for what makes us fangirl's squeal.~~

I don't know what made me actually read TRC, but I think it was LJ icons (seriously XP).Â Lately they seem to be what catches my attention to check out a series, quite a few of my faves were found this way (actually, this is what made me read X...)Â I had good timing though, because when I gave the series a try again was just when the Tokyo world started and that thoroughly hooked me.Â

I'd say I still like xxxHolic more than Tsubasa, but it's also for the same reasons why I love Tokyo Babylon (they're quite similar, actually).

I checked it out on wikipedia, saw some pics and saw there was an anime. I wanted something to watch and found out that there were fansubs, so I said, hey, its CLAMP it'll prolly be good.

:inlove: I fell in love with Fai at the title song and have remained so ever since of Fai and, of course, the Kuro-Fai pairing. The first season anime was good, so I decided to try the manga a few times. But I found it boring and tedious. I ended up getting into it when I decided I wanted to see more of Fai. The anime began to get worse as the manga got better and now I'm a pretty big fan.

Frankly, I read it almost exclusively for Fai as he is one of the best anime/manga characters I've seen in a long time. I'm very unimpressed by Sakura and Syaoran so far as they lack character and interest. The manga is very repetitive and doesn't get anywehre until the most recent volumes and is somewhat predictable. In the latest chapters I find myself cursing at the chapters on Sakura because it takes away from Fai's screen time. :sweatdrop: I'm like that. I tried to read XXholic because of the crossovers but I despise XXXholic. I hate the characters and the story is boring and pointless. (Gwahaha, sorry fans :tongue:) CLAMP certainly isn't what it used to be. There was a time you read CLAMP because they were good, not because the story would 'get better'.

I had read a few CLAMP series before (Chobits, Angelic Layer, Wish, Miyuki-chan in Wonderland, Shirahime-syo, some of Magic Knight Rayearth, and the first two volumes of X) and thought 'hey, CLAMP series I haven't heard of." I picked up TRC and thought it sounded interesting in general, but I hadn't read CCS so I thought I wouldn't like it. I put it down a got Holic. HOWEVER Del Rey, in a clever marketing strategy, put about five pages from the first chapitre of TRC in the back of the book.

What can I say? I read those pages and fell head over heels in love. I became obsessed with getting the first volume, and though it took me awhile, I was able to obtain it and have been happily in love with the series ever since. <3 What drew me in? Well, Syaoran and Sakura were cute and lovely, but I don't think it was them. It was the desert country with its little houses and graceful castle, its ruins and royalty and excavation. There was an air of exoticism and adventure which immediately cast its spell on me. I find this in all of TRC's worlds, and it is probably near the core of why I love this series so.

Post by: Fai-Kitty on November 18 2006, 06:27 am: I discovered TRC when I was out Manga shopping looking for 'Shonen Jump' magazene (Which my cousin got me addicted to) And I was browsing around and I picked up volume 1 and looked at the cover and as I looked at Sakura i thought "I've seen her somwere before!" and I remembered the Anime 'Cardcaptors' and i opened it up and read the first few pages, after that I totally forgot about the 'Shonen Jump' I was there to buy and took that book home insted!! and thus began my love of Manga!
Because aside form the Manga's in 'Shonen Jump' TRC is actually the first Manga i've ever actually read!Â :hehe:

Episode 19 was the first thing I saw (meaning that my Tsubasa experience started with Kaze no Machi he and Kurogane raising Fay's chin with his hilt. :inlove:) I was delighted to see Sakura and Syaoran again, and I recognised Oruha from Clover. I watched the whole Outo arc before anything else just for Seishirou, then went back and watched all of season one on Youtube. Next time I was at Chapters the title caught my eye and I picked up the first three volumes, and of course, I found the manga to be far superior to the anime.

I was before an X fan but after discivering TRC i became more fane of CLAMP.

And knowing Tsubasa was the fault of one of my young cousings. :wave: :okay:

I used to have this friend in grade 6 and me and her liked to draw alot. In grade 7 however we got put into different classes and I almost never saw her, and then in grade 8 she changed to a different school so I completely lost track of her. Anyway, one day in the middle of grade 8 I found her phone number and called her. After figuring out that she lived in the same house I visited her. This was before I decame an obsessed anime and mange fan, and didn't even know what manga was, I was surprised to see that my friend had the CCR manga volumes 5 and 6. "I love that show" I told her "to bad it ended". I then looked beside the 2 books and saw the first volume of TCR! "OMG whats that! did they make a new series of CCR?" I yelled. I was a little disapointed when my friend told me that (other than a few characters)it was completely different from CCR but I read the book anyways and was so impressed that I started buying the series. I'm in grade 10 now and Lauren is still my best friend. I have up to vomlume 11 of TCR and have read to volume 15. I'm really thankful of Lauren for showing me that book.

Post by: Hima on November 21 2006, 12:47 pm: It was really way back about 3 years ago when I heard about it (um, I'm not really sure about the time), there at KSS, the site hosted by Ruka of Daybreak Forums. It was still manga at that time, but as I was so addicted to CCS I paid no attention to it. Besides, I had no resources to look for it.

When someone told me that it had already been made into an anime, I thought "Now I can know precisely what this is about." But it still took me a long while to finally make up my mind on watching the episodes on youtube, since my classsmates (they who were the only ones to be addicted on anime) are so selfish and wouldn't even lend me their TRC episode CDs. (They wanted me to buy from them, that's why! I can't do that because one: I don't have money and two: I knew of some who does the episode subbing for free.)

I just have to resort to the forums I've joined in for links to read TRC and CCS. Thankfully, I've managed to read a pitiful number of the TRC manga, but rest assured I will do my best to catch up. XD I can't wait to tell those classmates of mine that I'm already way ahead of them.

When I was shocked to find out they didnt have a bookstore where I live, I started searching every shop and all I found was Slam Dunk and Ragnarok: Into the Abyss (typical filipino favorites), they were in english, by the company Chuang Yi from Singapore). So, I just bought Ragnarok and found it irritating that, compared to the counterpart in Tokyopop it was super small and skinny, like half the size of the tokyopop version. So after I read volume 9 (or prolly 10< I sold it last month<), I looked at the other manga published by Chuang Yi. I was shocked, like completely stiff when I got to the advertisement of TRC. I was like, "OMG! Isnt that Sakura and Syaoran!?!? But they're older?!" And after all thescreaming and yelling, I saw beneath the title that said volume 1-3. So that made want to buy it since I thought it was only 3 volumes long.
Boy was I wrong....<.<
I went to Manila for an immagration thing and we went tot the mall, I found TRC and it had up to volume 5. I was drop dead... um...confused, shocked all mixed together. So I bought volume 3 (Volume 1& 2 was sold out). You wouldnt believe how ignorant I was, thinking Touya and Yukito must've followed the group. (I already knew of the missing memories thing) I was just plain ignorant...~_~ I didnt know anything about the manga, except for the few faces and the missing memories.

I totally got in to Tsubasa after buying the 1st 8 volumes. I currently have 1-9 in english <n/a - 4th< and 10 & 11 in japanese. I'm still debating whether or not I should just buy it online, ask my dad or go to states for vacation then buy it...~_~
Hehehehe....only time will tell until I require all them....teeheehee!*0*

I went to borders and it said that holic and a series Tsubasa were linked or something like thatÂ :confused: I wasn't really going to read tsubasa Since i read a lot others and it would be troublesome to hook up on anotherÂ :shifty: anyways, i did the contraryÂ :haha: and started reading it. And now is one of my fav.Â :keke: I started reading tsubasa this XmasÂ :)

When I posted it in one of the forums I'm in, a member suddenly asked if that's from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. I was, of course, surprised, since Sakura and Syaoran only appears in CCS. I was thinking, "What is that, something about them becoming grown-ups already?" Well, I decided to just do a bit of research, found several manga scans over the net, and, well, the rest is history.

Since I mentioned something about this pic, can somebody here tell me where could this come from? I'm not sure if this is fanart, but I don't think it's not CLAMP's.

Hmm... I must have messed up with the thumbnail. But I now know that the pic is a doujin, but where... I'll repost the pic whenever I can.

I had all X manga till the 16th (or 15th - don't remember now) volume and I started looking for the other chapters. Then I found Be With You Scans. And some time later, TRC appeared on that site... I was totally in love with the series, because I was always a fan of Sakura and Syaoran. And for now, TRC is my favourite of all CLAMP manga ^.^

It was about a year ago and I had never read a manga in my life, I didn't even know that it existed (I live in the far corner of the praries) and I was sitting in my classroom and we had a free period, so everyone was goofing off and somone had the second TRC book and THREW it at my head;

I picked it up and was going to throw it back but then I noticed it was backwards and I was like "what the hell?" so I opened it up and read the 'Honorifics' page and then read the first couple of pages (with great difficulty) and thought "this is cool" I asked around for anyone who had it but no one claimed it, they all said that it was backwards and looked wierd, so I kept it and read it and liked it so much that I went and bought the first one so I would understand it better, and by then I was totally hooked!! :sweatdrop:

As for me, I have this housemate who watches the TRC anime and reads the manga, so one morning (about 2 or 3 am) I was just browsing through his shared folders over our network and I came across the TRC anime videos.

I've seen them before, but never bothered to check it out. This time however, I was really bored so I decided to give it a go.

I remember vividly, it was Episode 5 of the 2'nd Series. The one where Syaoran, Sakura, Kurogane, Fai and Mokona enter into a world and straight away they land in the ocean and are rescued by a fisherman's boat. And also where Syaoran meets his father's counterpart in this world in the form of a small boy.

After watching that episode, I got hooked onto TRC and watched all the episodes from season 1 and read all the mangas =)

What an unusual and funny way to start reading trc XD (I wonder who was the owner of the book.) ^^;

I was browsing in a local bookstore, then I grew tired of looking and reading the books there... (Its a bookstore where you can read the books they're selling) ... I went over to the comic books section and found a very interesting manga (Land of the blindfolded).. I began reading then I grew tired again.. so I decided to leave.. when I placed the book back in the shelf, the manga beside it fell to the ground (as if God intended it to happen.. or maybe I just knocked it over :sweatdrop:) ... my eyes grew wide and my mouth fell open :o as I saw a grown up Syaoran and Sakura on the cover... ~Hwaaa!! They look soooo cute!! I was sooo happy to see them so grown up!!!~

So, I opened the pages and the rest are history... ;D

I remember opening it and being like "What is this???" I had never read any of the manga before so i was just like what is this even about??? So i started reading her card and she was like this is something like CCS and i know how much u like CCS so i decided to get u this. it has Syaoran and Sakura in it. I was like thats SYAORAN!! I didnt even notice but after looking at it i was like omg it is. Then after that I started reading it from the beginning and now im crazii about it. I keep thanking her for getting me started. lol.

Post by: WingedHeart on March 03 2008, 06:32 am: My best friend told me about it! She had read the first 2 volumes of the manga and she was telling me about it, though I thought "yea, whatever..." I thought it was just another lame series. But I liked CCS and I remember her telling me that Sakura and Syaoran were in it so I decided to give it a try. I watched the 1st episode fansubbed on Youtube and was hooked. After that I started reading the manga and just totally fell in love with it. It has been my favorite series ever since!

I was also going through a rough time back then. Manga and Anime can have huge impacts on people...but the story and the characters, it just totally helped me out, moreso than any other series.

I'll stop now...lol. But I love Tsubasa so much. xD
