No one truely knows when the searing occured, but alas it has left the once prideful Federation of Alactus with very few citys, and even worse, technology doesn't exist anymore on this world
There once proud fleet of ships can no longer sustain themselves due to a technological curse put on the planet for expanding to far, to wide.. and for being greedy
Over a hundred and fifteen year's would pass before the survivors of the searing finally laid down any hope of a technological paradise, and instead, went back to the routes of there ancestors
A new age has begun, with the land now replenished and green again, everyone things life will be peaceful... however just over the horizon lay's a creatuer of untold magnitude.. and the real reason for the searing
We start our journy off in the town known as "Alascia" it's a town located near the western coast line, it's a sea town, so ships often come here.. it's also the only town located near a fertile land that supplys most of the kingdom with food

If you wish to take part, send in a character... this RP is currently a magical/medevil type of RP.. in other words. No technology of any kind may exist. Your character can be ANYTHING your imagenation desires
That includ's it being a cat like creature, or a dog like creature. You can also have a character with a dragon trait (However, I do ask that you consider the fact that dragons are very powerful, and as such, that you tone him/her down a tad)

A breeze went through the small port town of "Alascia" there in an inn stood a young boy, roughly 13 year's of age, he wore a light blue robe that covered most of his body, due to the cool air outside, it served him nicely
He walked toward his door and before long, found himself outside. The town was a bustle of activity, merchents barting with each other goods that the other didn't have, dock workers loading and unloading ships, town guard's walking around and keeping the peace
A mercheant walked up to him. "Good Evening Master Viola"
Viola smiled before bowing slightly. "Good day, have something for me?"
"Not really, just saying hello" the mercheant said as she walked past him while heading to his home. "Oh!" he stopped. "Some of the dock workers said there's a storm coming in tonight"
Viola glanced up at the black cloud's that where coming in from the sea. "I can see that," he said with a smile. "Wonder how my friend is doing?" he asked himself and ran off to talk to his friend

As Keith slowly went to the big clock he promised to his best friend he'd be there, he felt a slight breeze pass over him. 'Nice weather' he murmured, and without realizing he was already 5 minutes late, he went under a tent to buy an apple. He payed and shined the apple on his tunic. He jauntly walked off once again, his tall figure, making him look more than 15 years of age.
10 minutes later, his grey blue eyes searched, and then an even bigger smile takes place of his cocky one as he sees his friend, fuming mad under the clock.

Viola was tapping his foot, impatiantly and angrily. "Your Late!" He said to his friend, Keith, and walked toward him. "Aren't I suppose to be the one who is suppose to be late?" he grinned

Keith's cocky grin turned into a smirk. "Aw, comeon Viola, dont get so heated up at me. Here." and threw him another apple. Viola had a question in his eyes wondering how Keith could get this at this time, when food shortages, especially fruit, were short of stock. "I stole them" was his reply. At his companion's shocked look, Keith said, "Im joking mate. A friend o' mine gave it to me...for a fee..." Keith grumbled.

Viola sighed before placing his hand on his head. "You trying to give me a heart attack?" he asked his friend
He turned back around and walked toward the clock tower, his hand's clasped behind his back; he could hear thunder in the distence. "What do you want to do?" he looked over at his friend. "Freak out our parents like we normally do? After all, there's a storm near by" he smiled

Keith chuckled, and grinned before chewing the last of his apple. He walked behind his friend, and put an arm on his shoulder. "Yeah..sure...but I wanna show you something."

Viola glanced up at Keith. "Show me something?" he asked. "Like what?"

Keith, if it were possible, grinned even bigger. He said in a hushed tone to his friend, "I only figured this out a coupla days ago...Follow me" Keith raced off to an alley, his friend doing his best to keep up with him. "You see that sack? I can put it up in flames. Making sure the sack was empty, and glancing back to see his friend skeptical but curious, he turned back to the sack. His smile was suddenly gone, and concentrated on the palm of his hand. All of a sudden, a burst of fire shot wildly from his hand closely grazing the wall, but hitting the sack. Keith grinned.

Viola was astonished, but not surprised. He put both of his hands on his hips, "That all?" he grinned
He walked toward the stack and put his hand forward, the other one his chest and he began to concentrate. Water spewed from an etched circle that hadn't been there before, that had appeared under the sacks, a second later the fire was gone
This time he grinned. "Seems you and I both have a second... Nee?"

Keith chuckled. "Yeah, guess we do." Another roll of thunder boomed..this time closer. Keith frowned a little. 'Whats with the weather today?' he thought. But all he said to Viola was "What are we going to do to our parents?"

He thougth about it and walked around his friend a little bit, then walked out into the town square, he was to suggest something when another boom caught his attention. He looked around before looking up toward the sky, the sky was no longer a light shade of black due to the clouds, but was turning red and orange, like fire that was dancing across the plains
As he watched this another boom occured, this time it shook the port town vigoriously, so much so that the clock tower whined before the bell itself snapped and hit the ground near Viola, the bell ringing ever so loudly from the sudden fall
He looked at the bell. "Ummm... What the heck is going on here!" he yelled as the ground shook even more, he looked back up and this time a look of horror filled his face, he saw hundred's, maybe thousands, of small object's falling through the air, all of them trialing fire. "Keith! Whats that?!" Viola yelled in fear

"Keith! Whats that?!
Keith didnt have time to answer Viola's question. Instead he pushed his friend out of the way as another object this time bigger than the smaller ones falling before, almost hit Viola. "Watch it Viola!" Keith shouted over the shaking. "Listen," Keith yelled, "Im not sure, but see the ring of fire around em? Try shooting it off with some water..It may or may not work." He said as he doged another one of the falling objects. "Hurry!"

Viola was scared, but nodded as he got up, towns folk where running around. He stared at one of the rolling fireballs before clasping his hands together. He concentrated for awhile, the ground beneath him rumbled before a water spout appeared and fired upward, he concenrated harder before over fifty small balls of water fired out of the water spout. Finding there intended target's and turning them into falling bolders
He opened his eye's and fell to the ground, he was tired and worn out. He may have been able to get one of them, but the sky was still full of them. He was about to try again when a large ball of water flew over both his and Keiths head and struck ten of the firey balls
"Children shouldn't be playing with Magic," A cloaked figure said

Keith turned abruptly. A tall cloaked figure stood before him..smirking. Keith arched his eyebrows. Although he was only about 2 yrs older than his friend, he cared for him like a younger brother. Through all the noise and confusion, Keith stepped in front of Viola the younger boy slightly shivering and emnormously tired. He glared for once in his life, at the stranger. "Who are you?!"

The figure just rolled his eyes.
Viola sat there. "Don't ...." he said between breathing. "Your from the kingdom of Arlia aren't you?"
"More like from the king's guard. We where sent here to talk to your kingdom's ruler, but as I see it, you don't HAVE a ruler, your an independent port," the tall figure folded his arms
Viola got up, using his friends shoulder as a hand hold. "And we like it that way."
"Where not here to take it from you or anything," he looked up at the fireballs. "But it seems the god's aren't happy." he took out his staff and fired up another spell. "If you want to live, come with me." he said and looked around and saw his companions. "We'll try and help this town out as much as possible.. but you... you two seem to have an art that no one else here has. So I suggest you journy with us," he smiled
Viola had heard of the Kingdom of Arlia, mostly because that's where him and his family originally came from and he didn't like the kindgom at all due to there strong arm tactics, but he also knew they posssed the best mage's and priests around. "Keith?" he said as he watched the tall figure and his companions as they helped out the town, fireballs still falling but not as many as before

"Keith?"
He was to busy checking out the stranger and his companions that he didnt hear his friend call his name.
"Uh..hn...I..I dont know Viola.." He said frowning again.

Viola glanced away. An hour would eventually tick by and the shower ceased. The figure came back, Viola was laying up against a statue, he was very tired and didn't understand why, although there new friend did
"This is the first time you've used magic isn't it?" The tall figure asked
Viola just nodded
"Thats why you tired," he said and turned to one of his companions. Viola's cloak and pant's where soaked but also burned due to the fire shower. "Here," he said and tossed Viola a cloak. "Put this one, it has an emblem that'll let our people know your with us on bussiness"
Viola just stared at it. "I didn't agree to go with you.." he said and glanced up. "Besides, my parents would never let me leave"
The figure shook his head. "Your parents don't have much of a choice," he said while looking around. "Since your port town isn't apart of any kingdom, you have no protection, meaning any kingdom can freely take people from this town. How would you like to be in the hand's of the Empire?"
Viola shook, he was frightened at what the guy just said. The empire was worse than the Kingdom of Arlia, much worse and much more dangerous. "What about Keith?"
The figure glanced at him. "You seem to have 'some' magical properites, we'll know more later. Now, shall we go?"

Keith just glared at the stranger. He didnt trust him to much, and especially the fact that he wasnt getting any attention. Keith sighed and sat down on the ground and muttered, ' never been this mad this for'....

The figure smiled at Keith; before turning around and started out of town. Viola got up and looked at the figure, then back at Keith. "C.. come on..." Viola was nervous, but none the less determined to find out what was going on, and soon started following the figure and his companions

Keith grumbled a bit before standing up and following his small friend. He kept glancing around the ruins of the now half burnt town. He sighed and quickly catched up with Viola. A reasurring smile reattached to his face, as he put an arm around his friend.

Talia watched the group make their way out of the town. Sighing, she examined the marks on the back of the cloaked figure's backs and realized who they were at once, "Arlia's gaurd...pathetic gaurd if you ask me.." As she stood up, her white cloak ruffeled in the wind. A faded mark was barely visable on the back, but it felt to Talia that it was branded on her on flesh.
Quietly she drew her bow and chanted a silent spell, smirking she whispered, "Time to say bye-bye to one of the so called royal gaurds."

Viola followed the guard's
The leader of the group took them almost out of town, but stopped. "Hmmm," he said and looked down at the ground; he quickly glancing over his shoulder. He spun about, pulling out what appeared to be a mace and slamed it against Viola's chest. Viola flew backwards and right into Keith, causing the two of them to hit the ground.
"Hey!" Viola yelled as he got up. "Whats the big idea?!" he said
The leader stood there. "Ho... how'd you survive?!" he shoutted
Viola stood up straighter, a slight visible barrier could be seen in front of him but soon vanished. "Ahh... I see... you didn't trust us so you concenrated your power to form a barrier...." the leader turned around and motioned to his six companions. "Fine then... if you aren't going willingly.. we can always kill you here and let our necromancers back at the kingdom revive you"
Viola stood a step back, he didn't like what the lead said and was thus afraid
"If you can't act fast enough

Keith glared as he got back up. With all his might he formed a fire barrier around his friend and himself. Daring anyone of them to get closer. He had been thinking all through this short trip until which they stopped. Turns out his thinking was right. This was just an experierment with his power...if it didnt work..well he didnt want to think of that now.

The leader shook his head and turned around. "You honestly believe something has weak as that would protect you?" he snapped his fingers and his companions where around them. Sword's outward and bow's ready. Viola placed his hand on his friends shirt, obviously scared for his life and glancing about nervously. "Um... um.. what do we do?" Viola said as he glanced about

Keith feeling the slight pull from his friend, felt more protective of him then ever...Except...he didnt know what to do. In frustration he yelled out, and to his amazement, the ring of fire grew even bigger and hotter, and brighter. Startled he stood there shocked.

The man stood there, slightly amused at what he had just saw. "Interesting trick Kid" he said and waved his hand by, the wind picked up and twirled around the fire, soon putting it out but also narrowing itself down and around Viola, picking him up off the ground
"Hey! Lemme go!" Viola yelled
A small tornado hovered over the ground, making it very difficult for Viola to move, let alone try to escape. "Look kid... if you want your little friend back just meet us at the farming village down the road." With that he snapped his fingers and his companions vanished; before him and Viola vanished Viola managed to yell. "KEITH!" before he to vanished along with his captore

"VIOLA!!!" Keith screamed. WIth an anger and fury he hadnt felt before, he ran down the farming village the man had said. He stood before the town, breathless, searching for any location of his friend.

The man looked from the darkened area of a barn, he couldn't be seen due to his own magical abilities, but he could see the determination in Keiths eyes. Firey spirit this one the man said to himself as he unsheathed his blade
"You came... I thought you go running to mommy by now," he said and came out of his hiding spot. "But... what are the odd's that you can defeat me? Someone who has been training in magical arts a lot longer than you have" the man grinned

Talia jumped down from her spot and followed the group after they had dissapered. "Hmmm..those two are very good for their first time using magic. Should keep an eye on them."
Talia hurried around the barn where she had seen the leader of the Arlia gaurd go with the boy. Spotting him suddenly apper out of thin air, Talia tried to stiffle a gasp. Shaking her head, she slipped her hood on, covering her black hair and listiened to what the gaurd had shouted. Wondering if she should help the boy, or just watch, Talia found herself reaching for her bow and arrow. Then without any control, chanted a spell and sent the arrow straight and true towards the man's heart.

The leader glanced about, before spinning around and grabbing the arrow out of the air; and snapping it like a twig. "Interesting trick boy..." he said to Keith. "Don't know how you managed to fire an arrow out of thin air... but I'm afraid unless you can break my concentration.. I doubt it'll work next time," he grinned and aimed his blade at Keith. "Now... Defend Thy Self!" he said and charged the young man

Keith's mind was swirling. He had no idea how he got an arrow to fly at the guy. If someone was helping him, he'd thank them sooner or later...that is, he thought, "If I get out of this alive....." Defend Thy Self!" Keith dropped to the floor and rolled. He then jumped back up, he blasted a blast of fire of the guy which seemed to barely graze him. Madder then he had ever been before, and throwing away all common sense when they guy smirked at him, he charged at the cloak figure, not caring if he died or not.

The lead turned, avoiding the punchs from the kid, his back to anyone who wanted to take a shoot at him
"Nice kid." He said with a grin. "But can you beat me in say... five minutes?" he smirked once more. "If you don't, you can say goodbye to your little friend"

Talia cursed quitely as the man grabbed the arrow and snap it in two. Her attention was drawn to the battle in front of her, and she secrectly she wondered if the boy would stand a chance against him.
"I shouldn't be thinking that!! The man is evil!" Talia silently scolded herself. Suddenly she saw her chance, his back was unprotected and he seemed to pre-occupied to defend himself. Taking her bow, she carefully drew back and shot.

The lead kept it up until he felt something hit him in the back, the pointed part jetisoned through his front side and he grabbed it, and yanked it out. He turned around, and saw someone. "YOU!" he shouted and began to run; but fell flat on the ground soon there after, dead as a door nail
Viola was still inside the barn, but the lead's hitchmen had orders to burn it if he didn't make it, and thats what they did. They lit a small fire that quickly turned upward, engolfing the side of the barn and continueing toward where Viola was, the second floor trapped in a cage; oh how he hated being trapped like this

Keith gulped in air. His breathing was harsh and ragged, but he needed to find Viola. Suddenly he saw a barn starting to burn. He had a very bad feeling that, that was where Viola was in. He rushed over, and even though the flames were starting to grow, he barged in.

Viola struggled for a few before breaking the chains that held him in place. He saw the fire at the top of the barn and also noticed the trial of hay that was left for the fire to get to him
He struggled once more and broke the cage open and crawled out, he tried to use his power but noticed that he couldn't. He rolled up his fist and looked toward the window, he was about to jump when he heard click and looked behind him, the next thing he knew he was flying through the air and landed in the near by pond, obviously someone had placed something explosive on the second floor. "Ow....." he said

Keith started coughing. He blinked and squinted his eyes looking for Viola. He took a deep breath and charged up to the 2nd story. He looked around and saw chains and a cage. But..no Viola. In a mad panic he ran around the 2nd floor searching for his friend and thinking of the worst.

Talia cheered as she saw the man fall dead on the ground. She quickly pulled her hood up and noticed that the boy had left, "Should I go look for him..? He really is none of my concern, but maybe.." she thought. Shrugging she replaced her bow and arrow, and that was when Talia smelt the smoke.
Her eyes widened as the barn was suddenly englufed in flames, but as she was about to call on her magic to put out the fire, someone knocked her backwards with a powerful force. Landing near the pond, she coughed and tried to see what who it was, but just didn't have enough energy,"That..was strong magic..." That was when she fainted.

Night fall soon occured as the fire slowly went out. Viola was standing in the pond, his arms still hurt from the sudden bang that sent him flying. "I wonder what ... no.. who caused it." he asked himself as he walked toward the barn. "Keith!" he yelled, for he saw his friend run in but didn't see him come out. "KEITH!" he yelled once more

Keith didnt know what to do. He was stuck in a barn with flames engulfing it by the minute. He sighed and his shoulders slumped. Suddenly, BAM! He was ejected from the barn and fell and skidded on the grass.

Viola ducked toward the ground when the barn went up, peices of timber and stone flew in all directions. After some time had passed he got up and looked around. He didn't see Keith or anyone else for that matter and started to walk in a straight line through the grass, although the grass was in water, the tips where on fire, but that apperently didn't bother Viola at all
He walked around before finding a girl. "Huh?" he knelt down and looked at her. "Who is this?"

"Uhhgg..." Talia muttered as she tried to open her eyes. The grass where she had landed broke her fall and she was grateful for that. As she finally achived in opening her eyes, she saw a figure watching over her.
"Ahhh! Don't touch me, I have magic and I know how to use it!!" She screamed as she pulled her hood closer around her head.

Viola laughed and put his hand on his chest. "I'm going to harm you," he said and placed his hands over her body, something he learned while briefly being held hostage, a healing aura fell over her body. "Whats your name?" Viola asked as he concentrated on healing any of her wounds

Talia narrowed her eyes as the boy talked. Suddenly she realized who this boy was," It's the boy that was being held hostage by the stupid captian!"
Then she felt an aura around the boy being created, "I don't need to be healed thank you very much. Nothing happened to me," Talia snapped as she stood up.
"And the name is Talia. You are?"

He smiled at her and got up. "My name's Viola, I come from Alascia, a seaport not to far from here." he said at her. "Nice to meet you!" he said in an innocent way, then looked around. "Huh? Keith?" he said just now remembering that he had seen Keith enter the building. "KEITH!" he yelled out while looking for his friend

Talia sighed as she figured out what she had done again, "Why do I keep being mean to people? A voice rang our inside her head as she asked the question, Because of what happened..
Shaking her head, she saw that the boy had run off once again. She silently followed the boy, but took a different path around the pond. If, what was his name, Keith, had gone into the building, and it blew up, he wouldn't be there. Finally she found what Viola was looking for.

Viola continued to search, but it wasn't until he found Talia looking at something was when he found Keith. He ran over to him and knelt down, his own out and an aura of energy covered Keiths body. "Please work.. please work..." Viola kept saying to himself

Keith winced and groaned softly. His usual messy brown hair, was even more so, colored in with black ash from the fire. He had hurt all over. Then suddenly, he felt some pain go away. His rapid breathing slowed down a little and he unclenched his fist. He blinked open his eyes. And the sunlight poured over him, blinding his eyes. His vision was blurry but he could see...a girl and a boy leaning over him.....

Viola smiled slightly as his friend opened his eyes. After several minutes he stopped healing, he momentarilly fell forward, but placed his hand on the ground to stop himself
He got up and looked around, the sky was turning slightly dark, and that worried him. "Wonder whats going on." Viola said as he looked around

Talia looked down at the boy as he opened his eyes,"So..Viola can wield magic much better than I thought he could. Must be the same with this other boy Keith.."
She trailed Viola's gaze to the sky above them, and she saw the concern in his face. Talia suddenly realized what it was that was coming for the two boys and herself. Panic shot through her, but it didn't show on the outside. She tugged on Viola's arm, "I suggest we get going. If we stay here any longer, he will find us. Can you friend stand?" Talia asked in a serious tone as she called a spell that would make them invisable for a period of time.

Viola was slightly confused. He? he asked himself, he then looked at Keith. "Can you stand?" he asked his friend

Keith blinked. He nodded his head. He didnt want Viola to worry about him. He shakily stood up, and acknowledged them that he was fine. He nodded at Viola to continue wherever he was going, and that he could follow.

"Good, make sure to stay close to me. I've just put up a barrier that makes us invisable. It won't last long though, but it should stay up and give us enough time to make it to harbor," Talia explained quickly as she started to move.
As the group moved towards the harbor, the sky grew darker and darker and soon heavy rain started to fall,"I hope we get to a boat in time..Or else..." Talia shook her head trying not to finish the sentance in her head and kept on moving.

Viola followed Talia, he was wondering what was bothering her so much. "Um, whats wrong?" he asked her while trying to keep up with her

"Um, whats wrong?" Talia tried to replay that sentance in her head.
Letting out a fake laugh she said, "You're kidding right? You don't know who he is?" Her fast walk turned into a jog now as the rain fell pounding on the barrier.
She turned to face Viola again and saw the puzzled look on his face, "You-you really don't know..."Talia's voice broke then and she just couldn't continue, "You know what, forget Viola. If I can, I'll explain later. Come on, we're almost at the harbor."

Keith listened to the conversation, and followed the 2 others silently. Limping along. He just remained in the rear just incase something else happened.

Viola saw the harbor up ahead; thank god the town was still in one peice. "What ship we going to catch?" he asked Talia as they arrived on the edge of town

Talia smiled, "Well...it's not one of those fancy ships," she said with a slight laugh in her voice. As the group walked further into town, Talia could smell the spray and salt of the sea.
Breathing it in she felt a strange calm come to her, and she suddenly smiled and she pointed to a small boat being gently rocked back and forth on the water. She turned to face the two boys, and their faces held a look of utter disbelief. Sticking out her tounge, she walked towards the harbor and jumped down into the boat, "Come on you two."

Keith looked extremly shocked at the small boat in front of them. The boat looked small enough to barely fit one person..but 3!! It was unthinkable. Keith limped to the boat anyways, muttering under his breath.

Viola stopped at the edge of the dock and shook his head. "We shouldn't steal!" he protested Talia's jump onto a boat without permission from the dockmistress. "We should ask her first!" he said as he stepped back. It wasn't just his fear from the dockmistress; but it was also his fear of the ocean that made him not get on that boat

Keith cocked his head at Viola. He remembered now...Viola's fear of boats....Keith went next to Viola. "Won't be that bad mate..."

Viola shook his head rather quickly. "No..... I'm not gettong." he said as he stepped away from the boat, his fear just getting worse as the seconds ticked by

Talia sighed as she listiened to Keith try and convince Viola to get on the boat, "Boys...they're all the same," she muttered as she prepared the boat. Finally she got tired of waiting for Viola to get on and whispered a spell that suddenly gently lifted Viola into the ship.
"You'll stay on the boat if you know what's good for you Viola. Being on these waters is better than being caught by him," Talia said matter of factly as she raised the sails. Smiling, she whipped around to face Keith, "You said that this boat couldn't possibly hold more than 3 people, besides 1 right?" she saw him nod his head, "Well...Tell me what you think now!" Talia smiled again as she waved her arms around the ship which suddenly changed into a magnificent large ship.

Keith eyes widened as the once run-down boat turned into a magnificent ship. He stuttered. "I..bu..tha...how....?" Keith just shook his head, and started to climb aboard.

Viola looked around nervously, then stared at Talia, rather angry at her but at the same time not really feeling much. He just stood there staring at the wide open expanse of ocean

"Well..let's get going!" Keith yelled at Talia. Unsure of what to do, he walked over to the rail and gazed out.
