Title: Anime Movie Recommendations
Post by: Cardcaptor Takato on October 19 2005, 01:43 am
I've been an anime fan for several years now and I've seen a lot of different series, but I haven't seen much in the way of stand alone anime movies.  Pretty much the only anime movies I've seen have been movies that are apart of a TV series that's required to watch before the movies (like the Sailor Moon movies or the CCS movies), Perfect Blue, and Studio Ghibli movies, but I really want to see something more.  The only problem is I don't know which anime movies are good and which ones aren't.  So, can anyone recommend me some anime movies to watch?  I'll like anything from any genre as long as the storyline and characters are interesting to me and it isn't graphically violent, doesn't have excessive fanservice, is a stand alone movie that doesn't have a TV show you're required to watch before the movie, and is a non-Studio Ghibli film.  Don't get me wrong; I love Studio Ghibli movies, especially Miyazaki films, but those are already expected to be good and I want to see something different to experience what else anime has to offer.  So, does anyone have any recommendations for me?

I highly recomend Sennen Joyu (Millennium Actress )  Its has nice production, but definitely no comedy here.
