I can understand that TRC didn't make it coz it's still new to the eye of the people but... CCS? Well, full metal alchemist is good especially the "who you calling a twerp that can't be seen for being so small" part of edward Elric... but... :snore: :dodge:

well it is more to see wich ones are the most popular right now, it has nothing to do with the quality of the series, just look at pokemon, CCS is so much better than that anime but Pokemon has the 38th place while
CCS only got 87th place

You're probably right Kuro-puppy-san. This was probably fan voted, and it seems that fans prefer shows that are still current, and not laid to rest. I still say CCS is the best though! Then Tsubasa! Followed closely by Miyazaki-san's movies!

It does seem that most of the list is either currently popular anime or super-popular old fan favorites like Saint Seiya, Sailor Moon, Rose of Versailles, etc. I'm surprised Tsubasa got that high, I didn't know it was that popular! But I'm glad to see it.

(I was slightly amused at the anime title just underneath it, too... even though I've never heard of that series. ^^; )

No classic anime.

Oh well, I guess it's about the most popular right now.

Agreed, which is why I don't pay heed to 'Top Shows' lists. Still, seeing Tom and Jerry in the list did get a big laugh from me :D

Here is Strawberry's little summary of the results;

I can't believe that Fruits Basket or Chobits never made it into the top 100, it is so popular in the UK & USA and basically it never reached the top 100? I guess popularity of Anime must be really different in Japan.

The top 10 shows abit of a surprise. FMA at number 1? I never knew it would be so popular. I knew Gundam and Dragon Ball is popular, but never knew that Doremon, Slam Dunk or One Piece will make it to the top 10! bah ~ I don't like Slam Dunk much!

Oh, Sailor Moon is at 19 followed by Evangelion at 20. I'm not surprise because thats what I've expected since the popularity of these 2 Anime lives after 10 years.

Bleach at no. 27, thats cool, though I wished it reached abit higher.

Damn! I thought Tsubasa was popular then that! Tom and Jerry annoys me by wining Tsubasa by 1 vote... damn you! Tsubasa rules and should have at least reached the top 20^^

Ghost in the shell at 69? I was expecting it to reach higher, but I'm not a massive fan, so the Strawberry girl doesn't care much lol.

Oh no!!!! Cardcaptor Sakura, Strawberry's favourite Anime at 87! Damn! I thought it was more popular then that!!!! I'm dissapointed because it didn't reach the top 20.... come on and vote for CCS next time will ya? lol

Finally some of my other favourites such as Tokyo Mew Mew & Pita Ten never made it, oh well they wasn't popular anyway but it would have been nice to see those Anime in the top 100.

-FMA is still ichiban..nothing really suprising about that  :sweatdrop:
-Wa, Doraemon is still one of the top five??
-Meitantei Conan is still top ten, yey!

Wow, a lot of the anime are really old. Some have been around when my Father was little.  o_o

Nothing wrong with Tom and Jerry...one of the greatest cartoon series ever made...and the ONLY one to crack Japan's list. No Looney Tunes...no Popeye...no Disney. That in itself is impressive.

Also to add, if I had to make a current list of my top shows, Tsubasa, along with Cardcaptor Sakura would be 1-2 but all time list...T&J would be above them, as would Bullwinkle and some others I won't bore you guys with since most likely very few have heard of :)

What you said about Disney reminds me that Hayou Miyazaki is an affiliate of Pixar Animation which is an affiliate of Disney, so yeah that is impressive. One would think that Disney may have made the cut. Good observation Arcademan-sama.  :okay:

Anyway, I am also suprised that Cowboy bebop never made it in the top 100 too and also Escaflonwe I thought it will reach about 90.

I have a feeling Hagaren is gonna stay up for a while, which is good
Yeah... I felt that CCS should've been on the top 20 list, as well...
But, um... I know X isn't that great with its filler episodes, but not even making it to 100?

The top 100 list, I think it depends on the mindset of current Japanese kids ranging from 7 to 7teen, maybe considerably older age group is included as well... I mean, even I don't understand why that show Bobo something (don't remember how many bo's there are) is higher than CLAMP anime. There can be people out there who watch anime for the sake of laughs instead of looking for deep meanings, though
