Tsukishiro Yukito skipped off toward the kitchen, filling a plate with the ingredients for a shougayaki. He hummed softly to himself as he chopped the cabbage, then headed back to put it on the grill. Across the shop, he could see his coworker Touya flipping food on the grill in front of another set of customers. Meeting the man's eyes for a second, Yukito smiled, then turned back to chatting small talk with the customer.
Moving back to the kitchen after a few minutes, he could overhear bits of a conversation from another table. Right outside my door today... neighborhood's really gone downhill... think of the kids... Yuki's serene face slipped to a small frown. It seemed there had been more and more gang activity on the streets lately, and it was even starting to affect the number of customers. Nobody had minded the gangs that much in the past, as they fought among themselves to prove who had the strongest kudan, but this new group that had shown up recently seemed to be more ruthless and reckless than the rest, and didn't seem to mind who or what they involved. It was making some minds worry.
Putting those thoughts aside, Yukito kept heading toward the kitchen, though he paused to catch a glance at his coworker. The taller man's back was turned, as Yukito's eyes travelled briefly over his broad shoulders. They were childhood friends, high school classmates, and now college roommates - as close as any two people could ever be. But Yuki wondered for a moment if the dark-haired man would ever know how he truly felt. He didn't have time to ponder it as another customer had come and taken a seat.
"Hey, can I get a green tea and a pork-and-egg over here!?"
"Hai, hai! Coming right up!"
-
Kinomoto Touya looked up from the grill where he was busy preparing an order of okonomiyaki for one of their customers.
The place was quieter than usual, and it seemed like of the customers that were there, all anyone could talk about were the warring gangs in the city. Bits and pieces of conversation drifted past Touya's ears while he prepared orders...
They say he's ruthless...............
One of the strongest Kudans in all of Hanshin............
It was a dangerous time, and as Touya looked across the restuarant to his childhood friend, and roommate, his dark eyes took on a worried slant, for the other man was boyish, gentle, and kind, and the thought of him accidentally getting caught in one of the gang's spontaneous battles worried him deeply....worried him more than he figured the other man could imagine, for Touya carried secret feelings for his friend that he wasn't sure Yuki had for him, or perhaps wouldn't even begin to understand.
He had an overwhelming urge to protect Yuki and keep him close, however, and as he glanced across the room at Yuki's gentle smile, he swore he would do everything in his power to keep him happy and safe, even if he never acted on his deeper feelings.
-
Shougo strode into the cafe that his two friends worked at, cursing under his breath as he caught a few words from the conversation the kids nearby were having. How can this have happened? This new gang leader...they just sprung up from nowhere!
Seating himself at his favourite table, he lifted his head, making sure to catch the eye of Touya. When he received an answering nod, he sighed and settled back in his seat, wondering just how he could phrase the delicate question he had to ask them.
-
Yukito looked up as he heard the door signal another customer had entered. A smile crossed his face, recognizing Shougo. Finishing the order in front of him, he moved to stand beside his old friend's table. "Konnichiwa, Shougo!" he greeted, pencil poised above pad. "The usual?"
-
Shougo nodded absent mindedly, not really concentrating on what Yukito was saying.
"Yeah, the usual then, Yukito. And when you have a free moment, I need to speak to you and Touya about something." He replied, pulling himself together. He noticed Yukito frowning at his distant attitude, and summoned up a smile for the grey haired teen.
"Would that be alright, Yukito?"
-
Yukito's smiled slipped, noticing the man's distracted mood, but he quickly returned Shougo's smile.
"Certainly. It isn't all that busy right now, so..." He glanced over his shoulder, looking for his other coworker, and waved when he spotted him. "One takoyaki over here, Your Majesty!" he called, using the nickname that had somehow stuck, even weeks after the strange group of travellers had left.
-
Touya looked up as Shougo entered the restuarant and Yukito showed their friend to a table. He watched the two talk a little, then saw a slight frown appear on Yuki's face while listening to Shougo talk.
How Touya hated to see Yuki worried like that...
Yuki recovered quickly though, as he looked up smiling, and motioned for Touya to come to the table and join them, calling out that damn nickname he'd been hearing for weeks now......
Your Majesty............
"Yuki........." Touya began, then shook his head, embarrassed.
The name embarrassed the hell out of him, but there was also something about hearing those words come from Yuki's lips that was somehow..............
He shook his head again, and walked over to the table bringing the ingredients for
the takoyaki. "Shougo," he greeted the other man with a nod.
-
Shougo looked up at Touya, biting his lip as he realised that with Touya here as well, now was the time to fianlly speak.
"Touya...Yukito...things are really heating up here. I don't think I can keep the peace here anymore, and your cafe and lodgings are right in the middle of everything. I...I want....I need you to do something for me."
Raking his hands through his hair, Shougo took a deep breath and looked his two friends squarely in the eye.
"I want you both to pack your bags and get the hell out of here."
-
Yukito's smile fell away completely as Shougo's words sank in. Leave this place... how could they?
"Shougo... It can't really be that bad, can it?" he replied softly, his optimistic mind refusing to think the worst. "I mean... the gangs have been making a lot of noise lately, but you can't think we'd really be in danger?" He pushed up his glasses, quietly pondering the thought as he took a seat across from Shougo.
-
Touya paused in his work, but his expression remained calm.
Shougo's request wasn't really all that surprising to Touya. He, himself, had considered leaving from time to time. Convincing Yuki, and getting the hell out of the warzone. But would Yuki really want to leave......and was running the answer?
"Why?" he asked flatly. "Why now, Shougo? New gangs pop up all the time, only to be forced out and replaced. What do you know that we don't?" He asked, while flipping the food on the built in grill.
-
Shougo mentally cursed. Several times, he had enjoyed the way Touya was quick to catch onto things. Now was not one of those times.
"Look, I'll level with you. Tis new gang leader isn't like the rest. They have no qualms about injuring, or even killing civilians who get in their way. In a few weeks, they've managed to take over half of this d.amn city, and they're aiming at this area now. If they attack, your cafe will be caught in the crossfire, and you'll most likely be killed. And..."
He hesitated, wondering whether he ought to tell his friends the other reason. But then again, the more they knew, the more likely it was that they would be able to stay alive.
"....And they know you're my friends. They might try to get at me through you." He finished quietly.
-
Screams were heard in the air. A large brown wolf with three tails was darting about, destroying the property around it.People were running about, desperately trying to hide from the kudans trying to mug them.
A tall boy stood smugly on a building watching his kudan; others laughing beside him. "What is this?? Are there no more decent kudans to fight?"
((OOC: is this all right? I wasn't sure what to post :sweatdrop: ))
-
(Okamirei - that's fine! :keke: )
Yukito took in everything that Shougo had said calmly. He knew everything the man said was probably true. He looked back at his friend purely. "Shougo... what about you?"
A crash and sound of screams came from outside, and Yukito tensed. The gangs were causing more destruction, and it was just as Shougo had said. He risked a glance toward Touya. But... how could they leave, and where would they go?
-
Touya noticed Yuki's body tense, as the sound of screams and destruction rose from the streets, finding it's way into the restuarant.
The few customers that were still inside began to hurriedly make their way to the door opposite the street to escape the escalading violence, or risk getting caught in the middle of it.
Touya caught Yuki's worried glance, and instinctively reached his hand out to comfort him, but instead of touching him gently, he shoved him down hard into the booth, as one of the huge, plate glass windows suddenly burst inward, sending shards of glass flying throughout the restuarant.
-
Shougo winced as a large shard of glass sunk into his arm. Gritting his teeth, he yanked it out, ignoring the steady stream of blood that was beginning to flow from the wound. Straightening up and brushing the smaller pieces of glass off of his scarf, he pulled his goggles down and leapt through the shattered window.
Landing as gracefully on the pavement as he could with his throbbing shoulder distracting him, Shougo looked around, his brow furrowing in defensive anger.
"How dare you attack this harmless cafe! Show yourself, or are you a coward!?" He bellowed.
-
"Coward?!" Kagami sneered, jumping down face-to face to Shougo.
"This place now belongs to me! I can do whatever I want with it." He smirked, stroking the brown-furred kudan that landed beside him.
-
Shougo glared angrily at Kagami.
"Who said that this place belongs to you? As far as I was aware, it was MY gang that held dominance over this area. Do you think swanning in here with a fancy name like 'Mirror' was going to impress me?" Shougo said scathingly, his hand laid on the back of his own kudan.
The slight movement of his arm made his wound pull, and he winced as it began to bleed anew. But he simply ignored the pain, calmly facing down the new leader.
-
"Hmph." Kagami's eyes wandered over to Shougo's wound.
"It seems like we'll be needing a new leader for this place; the old one's grown weak. That's why I'm here."
He kicked a rock; striking it like a soccer ball. The rock hit the cafe, shattering another window. "we don't need this cafe anyways."
-
Shougo swore as he heard someone cry out in pain from inside the cafe as the rock smashed through the window. Growling, he glared furiously at Kagami, his hair beginning to stand on end slightly as he summoned all the power he had within him.
"Weak, am I? Well, let me tell you this. You may gain this area someday. But not now, and that's a promise!" Raising an arm like he did during his battle with the strange boy who had come to the town so long ago, Shougo gazed up at the linked rings of water that were forming above him.
"As far as I'm concerned, you're all WASHED UP!" He roared, bringing his arm down in a graceful arc. Instantly, the rings of water rushed towards Kagami, rushing forward eagerly to sweep the new threat away.
-
The young woman sprinted towards the cafe .. Her red hair splaying out around her like pheonix wings ... Her Red Kudan soaring with her
She arrived just in time to see the shimmering water rush towards its target ... The Pheonix landed on her shoulder as she stopped to see the best time to interfere.. If to interfere at all ..
-
Kagami braced himself; his kudan leaping in to prevent him from getting washed away.
"Cut the crap!" He yelled, laughing. "who's washed up, you say?"
He pointed at Shougo. The brown wolf bared its fangs; growling. Its fur turned to spikes, which then came showering down towards him.
-
Yukito felt Touya's hand pressing him down, shielding him from the glass that suddenly went flying everywhere. He felt one or two shards strike his skin, slicing his skin. "Touya?!" his arms flew to the other man, hoping he was alright. He caught a flash of movement behind him and watched Shougo leap through the broken window and into the street.
He tugged at Touya's sleeve, then ducked in alarm as another window shattered. He cried out in pain as a large shard embedded itself in his thigh. With a bright flash Yukito's kudan appeared, a small pure-white rabbit, and it unfurled its wings to shield them from the remaining rain of glass.
-
Shougo yelped as the spikes bit into his flesh, and burrowed thier way deeper into his already injured arm. Not wanting to give up, he carried on blasting the water out of his kudan.....but the needles kept coming, and he could feel himself weakening under the onslaught.
Slowly sinking to the ground, he dropped onto his knees, teeth gritted as he refused to give up, even though he was beginning to lose consciousness.
"I...won't....let you harm these......people." He whispered determinedly. Trying to stand up again, his leg collapsed beneath him, and he crashed to the floor.
He could dimly hear Yukito and Touya calling his name from inside the cafe, but everything was beginning to go blurry, and he was finding it hard to keep his eyelids open. No...I have to...protect them......
Glancing up as a blur of red shot by him, Shougo stared blurrily at the figure that had appeared, his brow furrowing in weak recognition. ......Hori?
Then, he could take no more, and finally succumbed to the silence of darkness.
-
" Shougo !" She yelled as she suddenly pressed forward .. The pheonix taking flight ...as They raced towards Him and the cafe ..
As they reached - she saw the Chaos Kagami had created ... She knelt down to Shougo as she cheaked for a pulse. She sighed in relife as hse felt his heart beating ... " Damn you Kagami !" she yelled at him...standing up .. " I dont know what you think you're doing !"
-
"What am I doing? I'm taking control of this damn place!"
Kagami scoffed, watching the girl tend the unconscious teenager.
Suddenly, a figure caught his eye. That kudan..that white rabbit...
A sudden shock hit him. "Yukito!"
-
She looked to her back .. Seeing Touya and Yukito ...
" You guys allright ?" She asked
-
Touya felt the tug on his sleeve as Yuki tried to pull him down onto the booth....glass was raining everywhere, and all the dark-haired man could think of was covering Yuki's body as best he could with his own, in a desperate attempt to protect him. Another one of the large windows suddenly shattered, and he felt his heart miss a beat as Yuki cried out from beneath him.
"Yuki!" Touya cried out - and the wind momentarily grew violent around them, then calmed, revealing the sleek, black panther that hovered above them, spreading it's enormous wings around them for protection.
"Spinel!" Touya called to the kudan, and it responded, shielding him while he carefully lifted Yuki out of the booth and away from the windows to safety.
Touya lay his friend down gently, concern shining in his dark eyes, as he saw the shard of glass sticking out from his thigh, and the other minor cuts he had suffered. "Close your eyes, Yuki," he told him, caressing the side of the young man's face.
Touya grabbed a kitchen knife and cut away the fabric of Yukito's pants in order to more easily see the shard of glass, then taking careful hold - he pulled the deadly sharp shard from his friend's leg. The blood began to flow immediately, but Touya was ready.....bandaging it quickly, then holding Yuki close, he touched his face once again, "Are you okay, Yuki?" his dark eyes filled with concern, and hands began to shake realising how close his friend had come to being killed.
If anything ever happened to you, Yuki.....I couldn't live....
-
All around him was wind... and flying glass... and people shouting... Yukito didn't know what was happening. Then a voice broke through the haze. Yuki! He felt strong arms lifting him, carrying him away.
Close your eyes, Yuki. Yukito obeyed with complete trust. He tensed in pain, unable to stop the cry that fell from his lips as Touya removed the glass shard. Then he felt Touya's soothing touch on his face, and opened his eyes. He knew it would be there, but he almost cried to see Touya's face hovering over his. Don't ever leave me... To~ya.
Sounds of battle were still coming from outside, and in the midst of it, Yuki thought he heard a voice. A voice that had haunted his nightmares for years. His eyes widened in horror as he spotted the distant figure with a three-tailed creature at his side. It was too far to be sure, but could it be... him? A cold fear swept over Yukito's body.
-
Seeing the scene before her - Touya protecting Yukito ... She was even more angered at Kagami..
This land still belonged to Shougo's gang... Her gang ..
-
Kagami leaped onto another building, taking a closer look at the people inside the cafe. It was him. Yukito.
Anger seethed dangerously inside him. "Yukito! Don't think I've forgotten!"
Don't think I've forgotten..
you'll never get away with it!
He jabbed a finger at Yukito, calling out to his kudan. The kudan, obeying, snarled and scattered his spiked fur, aiming them directly toward them.
((OOC: Oh! I'm making Kagami look sort of like Shinichi Kudo from 'detective conan' =P ))
-
" Fukkatsu !" She yelled to her kudan.. The pheonix whistled and soared upwards and spread its wings to its full span - shooting many sharp, flaming fethers at the wolf and Kagami ...
Hori started to sprint towards Touya and Yukito ... skidding in front of them ...
-
Touya gave a small smile as Yuki looked up at him, the boyish man's wide eyes shining with trust.......and love? But their gaze was interrupted, as Touya felt Yuki's body tense..not in pain this time..but fear, and Touya looked up and into the distance to see the tall figure call out to the one he held so protectively.
"Yukito! Don't think I've forgotten!"
Confusion at how this stranger could know Yukito's name....at what he could want with someone like Yuki... struck the dark-haired man, and his dark eyes narrowed as he moved Yuki near the wall and turned to face the boy who so carelessly threatened the one he loved.
"Spinel...." Touya called, motioning for his kudan to stand beside him.
The wings of the sleek, black animal spread wide, blocking Yuki from the approaching man's view as the kudan stood at his master's command.
Touya faced the approaching figure, and stated flatly, without fear or hesitation, "Make no mistake, boy, you'll die before I let you touch him."
-
The pheonix suddenly stopped its attack ... Both It and Hori knew this was Touya's fight ....
Hori stepped back and to the side... They both acknowlaged it was Touya's battle and went to join Yukito ..
-
"Yukito! Don't think I've forgotten!"
He knew. It was him, and he knew. He'd never even known the name of the monster who'd threatened him so long ago, who still haunted his steps, making him glance over his shoulder in fear. To think that this same person was Kagami, the cruel and infamous gang leader who was terrorizing his cafe. Yukito had thought he had safely hidden himself... that the past would never come back to threaten him. That what he knew would be buried forever....
Suddenly black wings blocked his view, he heard Touya's calm and determined voice. Yuki's heart raced in panic - Touya was stepping forward to face the monster. He could barely choke out the words - "Touya... don't, please..."
The only one he wants is me. Please, Touya, don't... he'll kill you...
-
Hori knelt beside Yukito ... " Hey.. dont strain yourself ... " she said quietly and gently to him ... Her Pheonix kudanlanding upon her shoulder .. " he wants to protect you .. and by the looks of it . . He wont stop ... "
She took out a silver pouch and started to tend to Yuki's wounds ... " this might sting a little .." she said
-
"And by the looks of it . . He wont stop ..."
No... Touya, don't know what he is. He'll kill you... without mercy. Yukito struggled to get up, despite his wounds. "He has to stop... We have to run..."
-
" You have to sit still and let me heal you " She said " How about .. If Touya-san is in any trouble .. I'll drop what I'm doing and help ... Is that alright ?" she asked ...
-
"Touya... don't, please..."
"He has to stop... We have to run..."
Touya heard Yukito's words behind him, and wanted to turn....to comfort him.. but stood unflinchingly, eyes straight ahead....serious in their threat - his large, winged kudan psychically linked, ready for his mental signal.
Touya gave the boy one last chance to call his kudan back and retreat.
"I don't know how you know Yukito, or what business you think you have with him....but..Hear Me Well........you try to harm him and I'll end you.."
-
I don't know how you know Yukito, or what business you think you have with him....but..Hear Me Well........you try to harm him and I'll end you..
Kagami sneered, "Hah! I'd like to see you try. I so have some business with yukito, and no one will stand in my way."
-
"Hah! I'd like to see you try. I so have some business with yukito, and no one will stand in my way."
"I stand in your way......." Touya replied in a low voice, then without making a motion, Touya called his kudan into the air.....beams of light shining from the jewels on the sleek animal's forehead and neck......aiming for the tall boy....
-
The light flashed into Kagami's eyes; blinding him momentarily. He yelled in pain, backing away.
"Argh! You'll pay!" he shouted, rage boiling madly inside him.
He turned to his kudan. "Attack!"
Obeying, the kudan roared. A large whirlwind formed around the area, displacing everything around.
-
Touya's eyes grew wide at the whirlwind that appeared out of nowhere, his hand going up to shield his vision, as the wind picked up dust and debris and sent it whipping through the air around him. Touya tried to look back at Yuki, but found it hard to see anything..... "Dammit!" He cried, eyes watering and clentching shut. "Spinel, get Yuki, take him away from this...." he yelled to his kudan.
-
Yukito squinted, trying to peer through the storm, trying to make sure Touya was still there. Then for a moment through the howling storm he caught a glimpse of rippling clothes on the street. With a feeling of dread, he realized what it was. "Shougo!" He turned to Hori desperately. "Hori-san, you have to help him!"
"Spinel, get Yuki, take him away from this...." He Touya's words through the noise of destruction.
"Touya...!" Yukito protested, even as the black panther lifted him onto its back. He couldn't let Touya fight without his kudan! He felt completely and utterly useless at the moment, knowing there was nothing much his third-level kudan could do, and that this was all his fault...
-
((OOC - Since Shougo's still unconscious, this is a descriptive post))
As thw whirlwind crashed onto the street and began to increase in strength, Shougo's unconscious form began to slide along the pavement, roughly catching on the loose stones and rubble beneath him. One particularly strong gust of wind shoved his body into a nearby wall, and there was a sickening crunch as his left hand was caught between himself and the wall.
Blood was pouring freely from his wounds again, reopened by the uncaring grit of the pavement, but he wasn't awake to notice the blood, or his damaged hand.
Or the fact that the whirlwind was straight on course for him.
-
" Hai, I wont let Kagami get away with this !" She said to Yuki .."Go with Spinel !I'll take care of Touya-san!" She said .. giving him a smile and Nodding to her Kudan ... " Fukkatsu !" She yelled " Go ! Protect Touya-san !"
She stood up and went to join her .. But suddenly .. a red liquid caught her eye... to the side of her .. Was... " SHOUGO! " She yelled in horror as she sprinted towards him ... Lifting his body ... And unaware of the tornado tearing towards them both ...She ripped her scarf off and bandaged his bleeding hand as best she could under the circumstances ... She slowly tried to stand up ... Lifting Shougo's body in her arms and walking as best she could towards a sheltered place .. to deposit his body ...
The pheonix went to shield Touya ... Taking some of the blazing wind away from Touya ...
-
As the huge bird appeared in front of Touya, blocking some of the wind, he turned to make sure Yuki was being carried to safety.....then once again squinted his eyes toward his attacker...
"Why are you doing this?" He demanded angrily, becoming worried, for his kudan had now left his side and though the firey bird was protecting him, he knew he didn't stand a chance against this boy.
And where the hell are you, Shougo??
-
Kagami watched the wrecking scene, grinning. But then seeing Touya's kudan taking Yukito away, his smile quickly vanished. You won't get away...
Meeting eyes with Touya, he sneered at his question.
"Why? I have my reasons." Then calling his kudan, he leapted away.. heading after the large panther.
-
"NO!" Touya cried, watching the boy's kudan take off after Spinel and Yuki.
Touya ran and lunged at the boy, grabbing him around the legs, trying to bring him to the ground....trying to stop him long enough for Yukito to get to safety.....
"I won't let you......" he growled, pain shooting through his left arm as he hit the ground hard....wind still whipping around him....
-
Kagami crashed to the ground, held down tightly by Touya. "Get the hell off me!" he yelled, struggling. Kicking helplessly, he turned to face his kudan. "After him! Don't let him get away!"
Watching his kudan leave, he chuckled quietly.
-
"Call him back!" Touya yelled, slamming the boy down, "NOW!"
His left arm raged in pain, put Touya was relentless, "Call your kudan back," he demanded, staring the boy in the eyes, his other hand reaching to grasp the boy's neck...........
-
Pain shot into Kagami's back as he was flung to the floor.
Call your kudan back..
He looked hard into Touya's black eyes and smiled. "and if I don't?"
-
Touya wasn't normally a violent man, but seeing the boy smile - while Yuki was in danger, was more than he could take......and his hand slowly tightened around the boy's neck as he leaned his weight against it.
"You'll call him back......if not....." He tightened his hold enough that the boy could no longer draw a breath, then slammed the boy once more against the littered pavement.
-
Kagami clenched his teeth; dazed by the strike. He gasped as Touya's hand tightened quickly aroung his neck.
Koshi!
Suddenly, a brown wolf came out; pouncing onto Touya. It snarled, grabbing him and flinging him across the ground.
Getting up, Kagami watched the teenager slowly slip into darkness. "I told you before..no one gets in my way." Then hanging onto the wolf, he jumped away.
-
The boy gasped beneath him........then the brown wolf came runnning...growling as if in a rage at seeing his master in Touya's grip...and then tearing into his already injured arm, and Touya found himself hurled across the ground violently.
He looked up with dazed, unfocused eyes at the boy who stood above him.....
"I told you before..no one gets in my way."
Yuki......... And then only darkness, as Touya's eyes slid shut, and he fell into unconsciousness..........
-
Yukito clung to the panther kudan's neck as it carried him further away against his will. He wanted as much as possible to get away from Kagami, but Touya was still back there. He glanced back desperately, and noticed the wind beginning to die down. "Stop!" he called to Spinel. He slid off its back, stumbled, and would have fallen over if not for the support of his own kudan.
Yuki ran, limping and stumbling back toward the battle site as fast as he could. As the dust began to settle, he saw what he had feared the worst. A body lay limp in the rubble. A blue shirt... just like the one Touya had been wearing today... It was Touya...
"No..." he whispered, "NO...!" He fell to his knees beside Touya's body, the pain of his own injuries numbing as he saw Touya's mangled right arm. Tears were blurring his vision. This is my fault...
"Spinel! Please help him... he needs to get to the hospital!" Yukito pleaded the kudan that hovered near its master. He didn't know if the kudan would obey anyone except Touya, but he knew his friend's weight would be too much for his own weak kudan. But surely to save its own master...
-
The large, winged kudan looked to Yukito thoughtfully, then turned to Touya and lifted him on his back, obeying the one his master loved.....
The panther kudan then turned back to Yukito, as if waiting for him to climb on his sleek back, behind Touya, and give instruction.
At his kudan's touch, Touya began to stir......trying to open his eyes.....sensing Yukito close. "Yuki," he whispered, afraid that he had failed.....that the boy and the wolf kudan had somehow hurt Yukito...please let him be okay...
"Yuki....I.." he tried to whisper once again, as he lay upon his kudan's strong back.
But fatigue overtook him, and he once again slipped into unconsciousness, before finishing the words he had wanted so desperately to say.
-
Hori had given up trying to find Shougo's body a safe place - there was no where that was stable enough ! ... She ran back to the place where Spinel had Yuki and Touya on his back... They hadnt taken off yet ...
She saw The state that Touya was in ! " Touya-san ! Yukito-san ! Are you alright ?" Her face was striken with worry ... and some exsaustion from having to Carry Shougo around ...
Her Pheonix returned to her side ... cawwing lightly ...
" Fukkatsu " She said .." Can you take Shougo with these to a hospital ?" She asked ... The bird cawwed in agreement and understanding .. Lifting Shougo onto its back ...
-
"Shh, To~ya," Yukito soothed as the other man began to move. "It's alright... you're alright..." He helped the kudan lift Touya onto its back and was about to climb on when he heard Hori's voice behind him.
"Shougo...!" Yuki's heart wrenched to see both his friends in such a condition. The girl's kudan was taking care of him. Once he had climbed aboard Spinel, wincing for a moment at the pain in his own leg, he looked down at her with a soft, sad smile. "Thank you, Hori-san."
He clung tight to Touya as they took off into the air... never wanting to let go.... Please god... please....
-
The slight breeze roused Shougo, and he groaned, eyes slowly blinking awake. He started as he realsied that he was riding Fukkatsu, and instantly regretted it as blinding pain shot through him, making him cry out. Glancing to his left, he saw Spinel carrying Yukito and Touya - Yukito seemed to have hurt his leg, but Touya...Shougo's heart filled with rage as he saw the state of his friend, and quickly realsied that he had received those injuries protecting Yukito.
Struggling into a kneeling position on Hori's kudan, he held out his hand, feeling the familiar rush of power that signified Soshi's existence. Then, getting to his feet and wobbling dangerously whilst doing so, he leapt for his own kudan, hissing as his wounds came into contact with his kudan's skin.
Behind him, he could hear Yukito's voice calling out to him from Spinel, but he ignored it, instead shakily turning Soshi so that it faced back to where they'd come from. Biting his lip at the agony such little movement caused him, he willed himself to move, urging Soshi forwards.
You stayed to fight, didn't you Hori? Well let me tell you this....no matter what state I am, I never leave any of my team behind...especially when they have no kudan to defend themselves.
((OOC: Does Shougo's kudan already have a name? I couldn't find one, so i made it up))
-
Kagami held on tightly to his kudan, landing on top of a old apartment building. "D.amn," he said, wincing as he set foot on the granite. "that guy is tough." He squinted across the horizons. "D.amn. where the hell are you, Yukito?? Don't think you can get away from me!!"
Kagami's kudan pointed its nose in the air, sniffing. It gave a sudden growl and barked, catching Kagami's attention. Kagami turned his head, seeing a figure far away. There you are...
He grabbed onto the three-tailed wolf. "Let's go Koshi!"
Obeying, the kudan took off; running after the figure as Kagami hung on.
-
"Hori? Hori!" Shougo called, swooping lower over the debris of the battle ground. The movement made his chest ache, and he coughed harshly, clapping a hand to his mouth in an effort to stop the fit. Pulling away his fingers, he winced as he saw the red stains of blood on them.
This has got to be the worst I've ever been after a battle...I can't remember receiving such injuries before...only Syaoran was able to land an attack before...but now.....
Another coughing fit racked his body, and he grimaced at the slight burning his throat was experiencing. Somehow I don't think that Primela will be pleased when she next sees me... He snorted mentally. A sudden movement caught his eye, and he glanced up, frowning as he saw Kagami riding his kudan along the ground, following Yukito and Touya.
D.amn....Touya's in no fit state to fight, and Yukito's kudan is mainly defensive, as far as I can tell.....I need to get back there, but what about Hori?
"Hori! Please, answer me!" He called again, his voice tinged with hidden desperation. Then, he caught a flash of red hair, and he gasped as he saw one of his few female team members leaning against the wall, a hand staunching the blood from a wound in her side. Swooping down, he stopped Soshi in front of her, barely managing to stop yet another coughing fit - if Hori knew just how serious his wounds were, she'd....he wasn't quite sure what she'd do, but it wouldn't do her any good to worry.
"H...Hori. We need to get going." He rasped out.
-
"Shougo! Shougo!?" Yukito called out, watching the gang leader ride away on his own kudan. Back toward the battle... he can't fight in that condition. Yuki clung tight to Touya, knowing there was nothing he could do, and Shougo probably wouldn't be convinced anyway. Touya was his first priority. He's always been first...
The wind whipped his hair as they rode, Yukito praying they could get there in time. A strange feeling came over him, as if there was... danger. He glanced behind, gasping to see Kagami in pursuit. He urged Spinel faster, but they wouldn't be able to outrun him for long. I've already put Touya in so much danger... Yukito pressed a hand against the black panther's strong side. "Take care of Touya," he whispered. Then closing his eyes, he let go.
His kudan caught him before he hit the hard concrete, but Yuki still winced at the shock to his wound. The small glowing rabbit whimpered softly at seeing its master in pain. Yukito stroked its ears lightly. "Thanks." He looked up, watching the kudan carrying his love disappear behind the buildings. He quickly limped to an alleyway, hoping he could hide just long enough to let Touya get away.
-
"Going somewhere?" Kagami landed softly behind Yukito, grinning playfully at the wounded boy. "I've come to silence you," he said quietly, looking into his frightened eyes. He walked slowly up to him, backing him up..cornering him.
"you remember, don't you?"
-
She had been watching her kudan carry Shougo away ... She prayed that Touya , Yukito and espesially Shougo ... would get away safely .. She had stayed .. and knew that if she could hold the fort here for a while before flying the way on Fukkatsu ..
But she was injured .. and was supporting herself by leaning on a wall ... Holding her gushing side ...
She heard a familliar swooping noise... and looked up ...
Her eyes widened as she saw Shougo ..Her own Kudan as well as Shougo's with him ...
" Sh..Shougo ... " She said ... pushing herself upright ... She didnt want to worry Him at all ... so she acted the best she could .. She knew how badly hurt he was.. as she had watched him get pummled against the wall..." I thought .. Fukkatsu was taking you to the hospital ... You shouldnt have come abck .. You need medical attention ... " she winced as a painful spike jolted her side...
-
"Baka! You know I never leave my teammates behind!" Shougo smirked, throwing as much lightness into his voice as possible, hoping to put her off the scent.
"Besides, what about you? You need the hospital, probably more than me! But Yukito and the others need us more...can you fight, or do you need the hospital right away?" He noticed Hori's sceptical eyes, and he smiled weakly in return, shrugging.
"I look worse than I feel, believe me......"
Come on....believe me, Hori....just believe me this once, and I'll never lie to you again.
-
Going somewhere?
Terror pounded Yukito's heart as he heard the voice close behind him. Too close. He backed up, stumbling on debris until his back hit the hard, cold brick wall. He remembered those eyes, burning with murder... and now they were focused on him once again. "Please..." he pleaded softly. "Please, I... haven't told anyone. I won't...."
-
Kagami snorted. "And you think I would believe that?"
His hand slowly reached up to Yukito's neck, grasping it.
"My life's been a mess, Yukito..." his grasp tightened. "I don't need any more trouble..."
-
Touya's eyes began to slowly open as he felt....sensed..Yuki sliding away from him..........No.....Yuki.....no....
He couldn't move...couldn't speak...but sent the mental signal to his kudan to halt and lay him down in the grass.
Go back to Yuki..........find Yuki......don't come back without him.....
And the panther turned and flew back, without hesitation.........knowing what was most important to his master...........
-
She sighed ... " I'm not a baka ..." She said .. " Fine ... But the next time you're hurt .. Your out of the battle and straight to hospital .."
" I'm fine ..." she said ... " And I do think Its you .. who is hurt more than me .. I wasnt knocked unconsious .." She gave a small playfull smirk ...
-
Yukito felt the man's grip tightening around his neck, cutting off his supply of air. He grabbed at the arm instinctively, but he would never be strong enough to pull him away. "Please..." he gasped one last time, his airway choking. His kudan, sensing his master in danger, suddenly exploded with light, illuminating the whole alleyway with blinding rays.
-
Shougo smirked back at his teammate, before doubling over as another fit of coughing hit him, cursing fluently as a thin layer of blood covered his fingers once more. He saw Hori's eyes widen in horror, and he gave her a wavering smile, pointing at her kudan.
"Not to worry about....*cough* about me. Just get on, and we can get out of here." He croaked.
-
Hori looked up - startled by the blast of light that illuminated the sky ...
-
"Yuki.....*cough* Yukito.....it's Yukito. We have to....we have to go towards the light....*cough*...Hori." Shougo choked out harshly.
-
" Fukkatsu !" She yelled .." Go on ahead !" The Pheonix cawwed and set off ...
" Come on soilder .. " Hori said to Shougo ... Ducking under one of his arms and trying to support him ... Helping him back on to his Kudan
-
As Yukito's kudan flashed with bright light, Kagami stumbled back, blinded. "D.amn! That's the second time today!"
Suddenly, he heard a roar. Looking up, he saw a panther, baring it's fangs. The pancer pounced down onto Kagami, snarling. "urgh, d.amn! Koshi!"
Growling, Kagami's kudan burst forward, knocking the kudan off him. Getting up, he watched the kudans fight.
Hearing a caw, he looked up. "Looks like your friends are here to save the day."
-
Yukito sank to the ground as Kagami released his grip, his legs giving out from under him. He watched the kudans dance in front of him, locked in battle together, as if it were a slow-motion movie. And then the caw of yet anther kudan's voice. Kagami was saying something... he couldn't make it out...
His attention was only focused on the creature in front of him. Touya's kudan.... Touya.... must be safe... As his foggy mind reached that conclusion, Yukito slipped into unconsciousness.
-
Touya's kudan fought.......waiting for the chance to fly down and pick up the figure that now lay on the ground below......the one my master loves.....
As another large kudan appeared in the air, distracting the boy and his wolf, the sleek, panther kudan swooped down quickly, lifting the limp figure onto his back and flying away.....faster than he ever had....for his dark-haired master........the rabbit kudan following behind.
Touya had woke, and painfully got himself sitting against a tree, holding his injured, still bleeding arm tight to his body.......he could only think of Yuki...
If he's hurt you, Yuki.......
He felt frustrated and angry that he had been unable to protect Yuki......I've failed him......... Tears of fear and rage began to appear in his eyes and he wiped them away with his sleeve......then his dark eyes widened, as he saw his winged kudan approaching.....and a figure lay across his back......"Yuki!" Touya tried to call out, tried to get up, but was too weak to stand....and so he waited for his kudan to land and bring Yuki to him.....sliding the fainted young man carefully off his back to rest in the grass beside Touya.
"Yuki..." Touya, whispered, lightly touching his face...searching for signs of injury....."Yuki, what did he do to you?"
And then, with his good arm, Touya pulled Yuki close and waited for him to wake.........making a solemn vow that he would never let anyone hurt Yuki again...would never fail him again.......
-
Shougo landed Soshi gracefully beside the injured pair, leaping off and running to them, doing his best to block out the blazing agony that was shooting through his body as he moved. He knew that he couldn't take much more of this....his body was dangerously close to shutting down.
But he had to make sure that his friends were alright.
"Touya....*cough* are you *cough* ok? What about Yukito? I...*cough, cough* I'm so sorry I didn't get there in time....I failed you both." He choked out harshly, his voice sounding pained even to his own ears. Shaking slightly in pain, he closed his eyes, trying to get himself under control. It wouldn't help the others at all if he was seen to be in such a bad shape.....
I have to stay the strong leader...for all our sakes.
-
Yukito could feel something soft beneath him... the smell of dirt, and fresh grass. A soft touch to his face. The wind... no... someone's touch. Strong arms came around him, and Yuki's eyes fluttered open. "To~ya?"
He let his head rest on the other man's chest. Touya was here, safe. Yuki silently thanked the gods. Then he sat up as if startled. Touya had been severely injured.... "Touya... why aren't you in the hospital?" Worry clouded the teenager's green eyes. He looked up at Shougo, noticing the coughs that racked his body. "Shougo, you should be, too!" His brow creased in concern, watching his friend who was doing a rather poor job of concealing his injuries. He added, his voice more firm this time. "You need to be treated right now."
-
Shougo smiled wobbily at Yukito's concerned face, giving him a rather shaky wave.
"Hey Yukito! *cough* Don't worry about me, I'm *cough* fine, really. It's you and Touya that worry me the most. And Hori too....you all need to get yourself treated. *cough, cough*. Don't worry 'bout me, I'm used to this sort of thing!"
He took his hand away from his mouth to illustrate the point, and closed his eyes in disbelief as he saw the blood staining his fingers, and how there was much more now.
Great....there's no way that they wouldn't have noticed that! He cursed.
-
Hori hopped down .. " Really ...." She said .... obviously not impressed .... " Come on .. all of you to the hospital ... " She sighed, Patting Fukkatsu on the beak ..
-
"Touya... why aren't you in the hospital?"
Touya smiled weakly at Yuki's scolding, glad to hear his friend's voice, thankful that he was here beside him.....alive....
He tried to follow their conversation, but his dark eyes were heavy, and glancing down at his bloody arm, he knew Yuki was right. His only thoughts were of getting his arm bandaged as quickly as possible, and then being home once again with Yuki..... knowing they needed to have a long talk.
So many questions and feelings were going through Touya.....Who was that guy who attacked them, and why was he after Yukito? And the feelings of love and fear that had raged through him as he saw Yuki in danger........  Touya didn't know if he was capable of keeping his thoughts and feelings to himself any longer....but what if Yuki didn't feel the same way?
It was all more than Touya could stand to think about at the moment, and he closed his eyes in exhaustion, leaning his head against the one that sat beside him......the one he loved....
-
Watching as Yukito fussed over Touya, and seeing Hori pat her kudan on the neak before crouching to look at the injured men lying on the ground, Shougo smiled to himself. This was a golden opportunity - he had to take it now......
Moving silently from years of self-training, Shougo slipped away from the group and mounted Soshi, ignoring the stab of pain he felt in his chest at the movement. Holding back his coughs in order to stay unnoticed, he gently urged Soshi to move, and the kudan glided away noislessly.
Looking over his shoulder to make sure that no one had seen him, Shougo smiled as he saw that no one had realised that he's vanished yet. Turning his attention back to his driving, Shougo patted Soshi's head reassuringly.
"We're going to find Kagami, Soshi. No one gets away with hurting my friends and attacking my teritory like that." He briefly wondered whether to get help from Masayoshi - afterall, his kudan was able to find people.....
But then he remembered that Masayoshi had never met Kagami, so it wouldn't work....speaking of which, how did Yukito know Kagami?
Dismissing the question for now, Shougo focused all of his attention on the ground below, watching carefully for any sign of Kagami.
Kagami...I'm coming for you......these wounds mean nothing to me...I'll still take you down.....
-
" You to Shougo ... " .... She looked around .. " Shougo?" ....He wasnt there .... She clenched her fists ... He was really getting on her nerves... He shouldnt have gone without her.... Not in the state he was in ...
" SHOUGO !" She yelled in anger at the sky ... He probably couldnt here her ... but oh well....
WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU !
-
"We're going to the hospital," Yukito stated gently but firmly - he wasn't going to take any arguments this time. He wasn't going to let Touya be hurt any more. "Spinel," he spoke to Touya's kudan, since it had been obeying him so far without problem. He stood on wobbly legs, his arms around Touya's waist trying to hold him steady and help him onto Spinel's back. Yukito stumbled suddenly, pitching forward, and they would have both tumbled over if his rabbit kudan had not caught them. The teenager felt his cheeks burn slightly at feeling his face smushed into Touya's chest. He pulled away quickly, getting Touya onto the panther's back with the kudan's help. "I... I'm sorry, I'm so clumsy... and you're injured, too..."
The kudan took off, carrying them both, and Yuki felt relief flow through his body as Spinel's feet touched the pavement in front of the hospital door. Here... at least he hoped... they would be safe, for a little while.
-
"We're going to the hospital,"
Touya nodded at Yuki's words, and tried to help get himself onto the panther kudan's back. As Yukito stumbled forward, he thought they were going to fall over, and suddenly his friend was close against his chest, then pulling away quickly. Touya noticed the smaller, young man's face begin to redden....and wondering just why....Touya fell into sleep again......
-
Touya woke with a start....dreams of the day's events still haunting his mind.
"Yuki..." he whispered, before opening his eyes, and realizing just where he was.
And then seeing Yukito safe, sleeping in the chair beside the bed, he smiled and reached out to touch him, just wanting to wake him and go home.
Needing to be alone with his friend...to talk....to get answers.....and perhaps to confess the feelings he could no longer contain within his heart.
If he had the courage...
Even if I can never tell you......I'll always love you...only you....
-
Shougo leaned against the outside stairwell on a roof, his breath ragged. Funny how just flying your kudan can tire you out so much. He thought sarcastically to himself.
Another bout of fierce coughing wracked his body, and he doubled over, eyes screwed up in pain. The fit subsided, and he breathed in deeply, trying to keep himself together.
He couldn't deny the fact that seeing blood on his fingers when he coughed scared him....a lot. He knew that it meant internal bleeding of some kind, and in the past he'd always forced his team to go to hospital if they had ever suffered injuries this bad. I should be there too.....but I can't let Kagami get away with this! I don't know what his connection to Yukito is, but I somehow know that he'll be back to hurt Yukito again if I don't stop him.
Yukito....Touya.....Hori....
Shougo wondered how everyone was getting on back at the hospital. Had their wounds been treated? Or were they still stuck having to wait? Shaking his head, Shougo balled his hand into a fist, and stood up, ignoring the sharp tearing feeling he got from doing it so fast.
Breaktime was over.......it was time to find Kagami and make him pay.
-
" Be safe.. " Said Hori to Yukito and Touya.. seeing them lift off... "I'll be there as soon as I can be .. With Shougo .."
Now to find Shougo ... She was wraked with worry ... " Shougo is in no state to fight .. Come one Fukkatsu - We've gotta find him and take him to hospital ... " She mounted Fukkatsu ... " See if you can find Soshi ... That might be the best way to do this ... "
She Lifted off soaring into the sky ...
I hope he's ok ...
-
Kagami leaned against the wall in the alley, taking out a cigerette and lighting it. D.amn you Yukito...I let you get away.
He had been so consumed in excitement in seeing the two kudan fight that he hadn't seen the panther take him away.
He kicked a piece of trash, seething in anger. D.amn. Why does it have to be like this??
-
Shougo blinked, staring down into an alley below. Could it be....yes! It was him down there! The rival team leader that he'd been hunting for so long! Changing position slightly, he made himself ready for a rapid descent, only to freeze as his 'Hori Sense' (developed from several years of training together) began to tingle.
Uh oh. I sense Hori trying to find me....and I somehow don't think that she's happy. Shougo smirked at himself. I'm more in tune to and worried about Hori than I am about Primela-chan sometimes. He snorted, shaking his head.
Putting Hori out of his mind, Shougo urged Soshi down, and held on as his kudan plummeted towards the smoking figure below. Finally judging himself near enough, Shougo leapt from Soshi's back, ignoring like always the blinding stab of agony that shot through his system.
"Kagami! We need to talk....right NOW."
-
Kagami threw his cigarette to the floor, stomping on it.
He looked at Shougo, eyes carefully observing him, and smirked. "Talk then. Though it doesn't seem like you'll be able to talk much"
-
Shougo's mouth twisted into a bitter smile.
"You know me, Kagami. Like I care what happens to me? My duty is to protect this area, and my team, no matter what the cost to myself. So I don't care what you do to me. My friends however, are another matter entirely."
Pushing the pain aside, Shougo stepped menacingly forward, his eyes glowing blue behind his goggles as Soshi hovered behind him, water beginning to swirl threateningly in the air above him
-
Kagami remained leaning on the wall, a red glow surrounding his body as his kudan appeared beside him..growling at Shougo.
"Hmph. Like I care about your friends..or you."
((OOC: gomen ne, writers block. gah! >_<))
-
(( Shall I have Hori come in ? ))
-
((Anytime would be good, Hori))
Shougo's eyes narrowed, and he growled in the back of his throat, before launching himself forwards onto Kagami, actually taking the other one by surprise.
"I don't give a damn what you think about me! But you crossed the line when you carved a chunk out of Hori's side! You crossed the line when you pummeled Touya into oblivion! And you crossed the line when you terrified Yukito, and hurt him like that!" He bellowed, tightening his grip round the other leader's throat.
"You crossed the line as soon as you put those I care about in danger." He hissed angrily.
At the moment, he didn't care if this made him a murderer.....he just wanted justice.
-
"Yuki...."
Yukito thought he heard a voice whispering to him in his sleep. A gentle, familiar voice. He was tired.. he didn't want to open his eyes, but a gentle touch invited him softly. His eyelids fluttered open, greeted by a smiling face near his. Yuki returned the smile as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Loving Touya was the most natural thing, even if the other man never knew it.
Yukito brought his hand up to close around Touya's. "How are you feeling?"
-
Touya smiled as Yuki blinked....slowly waking....and then put his smaller hand on Touya's. As Yukito looked into his eyes and smiled his gentle smile, Touya thought he had seen more than friendship reflected in Yuki's gaze. For a split-second...he thought he'd seen.....love.
And he wanted to reach over and pull Yuki into his embrace...just hold him...
He ran his hand through his dark hair, feeling slightly embarrassed at his thoughts, and suddenly looked away.
"Don't worry about me," Touya replied to Yuki's softly asked question. "What about you, Yuki? Are you okay?"
Touya had noticed right away that Yukito's leg had been re-bandaged, but his hands clenched into fists, as he suddenly noticed the ring of bruises around his friend's neck. He tried to unclench them...force them open again, not wanting Yuki to sense his anger....he was already so worried, but he couldn't control it.
What did that kid try to do to you, Yuki? And how close did he come to succeeding?
Touya felt as if he'd failed........failed to protect Yukito...when he was all that mattered.
Regaining control, Touya reached out and touched his neck softly, "I'm so sorry, Yuki... I let him hurt you. I couldn't stop him.....I failed you....."
-
Fukkatsu Cawwed loudly above the two as Hori landed swiftly on the ground..." Shougo !" she yelled ....
She stepped towards the pair ... " I'm here ... "
She knew this was not the time to shout at him ... That would only distract them ... Kagami would be delt with first ..
-
Kagami choked, unable to catch his breath as Shougo's grip tightened on his throat. He struggled, trying to pull Shougo's fingers off.
"Let....go...k-koshii!"
Seeing its master in danger, the three-tailed wolf snarled, trying to pounce and attack the goggled teenager. But the large ray-like kudan blocked its way, shooting water blasts at the wolf.
Kagami slid down the wall..no longer able to breath, he fell into unconsciousness.
-
As Kagami began to slide down the wall, Shougo tightened his grip further, just wanting to get rid of the menace who had hurt his friends so. He had never felt this angry in his life! But then again, no one had ever hurt the people he cared about so much.
"Shougo....I know that as your mother you won't listen to me.....but is being a kudan team leader really a good idea? Do you know how many of them turn to crime? Or hurt people just for fun? If you're not careful, you could end up a murderer..."
Remembering those words from the past, Shougo's grip on Kagami's throat faltered. Gasping in self-horror, he released the other leader and stepped back, shaking violently as he took in the blue face of Kagami.
These hands.....they nearly killed....I was just so angry......I didn't care what I did, as long as he was punished.....
I'm no better than him.
-
" Shougo ... " Hori said as she stepped forwards to him ... She placed a hand upon his arm in a comforting manner ... " Shougo ... are you ...alright ?" She asked... her eyes and voice were soft and worried...
-
Shougo looked up at Hori, breathing wild and erratic. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew that someone in his physical state shouldn't be panicking like this, for risk of aggravating his injuries further.....but he couldn't help himself.
"Hori....I almost killed him.....I'm as bad as him......*cough*....I almost....Hori, I....*cough, cough* " He whispered hoarsely, still in mild shock. He was also beginning to cough again, now that he wasn't focused on a battle. But he didn't pay attention to that.
-
" No no your not... " She said sitting hjim down on a nearby wall ... " Your not as bad .. and I know it .. " She comforted him the best she could ... Shougo wasnt in any state for this right now ... She needed to get him to the hospital ... But was he in any state to move?
Fukkatsu chirped lightly beside her...
She gently rubbed his back ... " Your not like him at all ...not one drop ... " She gave him an assuring smile ... " I would never follow someone like him ... I would... " never feel this way about him " Never even give him the time of day "
-
Shougo stared at his team member, gazing into the earnest eyes that stared reassuringly back at him. Sighing, he got to his feet, wincing at his wounds began to cause him trouble again.
"Let's get out of here, Hori....we don't need to be found next to someone in this state....the last thing we need is to be stuck at the police station answering questions." Slowly pulling himself up onto Soshi, he turned to look at Hori again, a weary smile on his face.
"I need to do something....would you mind going to the hospital to see how Yukito and Touya are doing? And your own wound...did you have it treated before you came out here?"
Seeing Hori open her mouth to protest, Shougo held up a gloved hand, effectively silencing her.
"Please, Hori. Just do this for me. I promise that I'll go to hospital as soon as I get this thing done, alright?" He pleaded.
-
" fine ... " She said slightly crossly after a short silence... " but dont you dare get hurt again ! If you're going to go and fight someone then I'll know ... " Her cross face faded into a smile ... She couldnt stay mad at him for long " You're still in a lot of trouble from me for running off ..." she sighed ... " Just becareful ok ... How long will you be?" She asked - standing up.
-
"I'm so sorry, Yuki... I let him hurt you. I couldn't stop him.....I failed you....."
Yukito tensed a little as Touya's fingers brushed the bruises on his neck, reminders of what Kagami had nearly done to him... and what he still wanted to do. He relaxed then, letting his head hang in shame. "No,To~ya. No... it isn't your fault." It's all my fault. "It's because of me that he hurt you. He wanted me, because-" Yuki broke off the sentence, looking down again at his hands twisting together in his lap. He could still hear the murderous voice calling after him as he escaped into the darkness. "If you tell a soul I'll hunt you down and kill you, I swear!"
I have never told one person what happened that night... what I saw Kagami do.
-
"Yuki..." Touya didn't know where to start, but seeing the look of guilt that flashed across Yuki's kind face made him feel a sadness inside....and he wanted to pull him close. But he knew that specific talk about his feelings for his friend would have to come later.
For now, he was afraid he'd have to risk upsetting Yukito more, as he asked the questions that needed asking. Taking Yuki's hand, and holding it between his two larger hands, Touya looked into Yukito's eyes and began to softly ask the questions he knew his friend didn't want to answer. "Yuki......you have to tell me. Who is that guy.....and how does he know you.....why is he trying to hurt you?"
-
Yukito let Touya take his hand and surround it with the warmth of his own two hands, a comforting gesture. He looked away again, avoiding the other man's gaze.
He wants to kill me... and he'll kill Touya if he knows.
"I... can't tell you," the blonde whispered, the pain of keeping secrets from Touya almost greater than his own fear. He hated having the other man worry about him. Yuki lifted his head, forcing himself to put on a smile as he shrugged lightly. He tried to speak casually and failed miserably. "It... was such a long time ago, anyway, it doesn't... really..." He faltered, the fake smile quickly slipping from his face as he met Touya's worried gaze.
-
"I... can't tell you,"
Touya didn't want to press......didn't want to hurt Yuki. The pain in his friend's soft eyes was already more than enough to make Touya stop with the questions, but he knew he had to insist....they needed to talk about what was happening.....and he needed to know why Yuki looked so afraid.
"Yuki...." Touya began, trying to encourage Yukito to make eye contact with him. "You need to tell me. After today, I'm already involved. And if you are afraid of something, I need to know why so I can help you, so I can protect you.......because...I...." Touya stopped suddenly, realizing what he was about to say to his friend. He quickly looked away, as a light blush began to cover his face. "Please tell me, Yuki, so I can help.......because if anything ever happened to you..." Touya once again met Yuki's eyes, not caring for the moment if he was revealing too much.
-
Shougo winced as he flew towards the hospital, unable to ignore the burning pain in his chest any more. He'd left it too long...he realised that. But he'd had to make arrangements for Touya and Yukito's cafe to be protected by the rest of the gang whilst he was out of action....his friends had worked so hard to build it up.....he hadn't wanted Kagami to take it once he woke up.
Seeing the hospital directly below him, Shougo began to descend gracefully, not wanting to put himself through anymore pain if he could help it. Then, another fit of coughing wracked his body, and he gave a gasp of agony as the burning feeling increased, overwhelming him as he coughed uncontrollably.
No....not now...it's just a few more metres......
But he could do nothing as he slipped into unconsciousness, Soshi disappearing beneath him. Falling limply through the air, Shougo crashed to the ground with a sickening crunch....only a metre from the hospital entrance. Immediately, doctors were flooding out of the hospital, inspecting him carefully and cursing over his condition.
But even as he was gently moved onto a stretcher and wheeled inside, Shougo had no idea of what was going on around him.
After all....who said that people in comas can hear the outside world?
-
"...if anything ever happened to you..." For a moment Yukito's heart flared in hope despite himself, wondering if those words could possibly mean what he wanted them to.
"You need to tell me."
He looked away, gazing out the window at the blue sky, so calm and peaceful compared to his current state of mind. After a minute Yuki sighed. "It was five years ago, when I was in middle school... that I met Kagami. I didn't even know his name until now... didn't know that that gang leader was the same person from back then. I saw him murder a girl," he spoke softly. "There was blood everywhere... I had just come upon the room by accident. I didn't really understand what I saw at first. That's when he saw me. His kudan attacked me. He... came after me. I got away somehow... I don't even remember how." Unconsciously Yukito's finger brushed the scar on his neck that still remained. "He warned me as I was running away that if I ever told anyone, he would hunt me down and kill me. I was... so terrified... that he was going to come kill me. I was sure he was following me, waiting for the right moment - I always thought I could see his face watching me. But then... I thought he'd never found me. I thought he'd forgotten in five years." He lifted his head and managed a weak smile. "But... I guess not..."
-
As Yukito spoke, painfully telling his story for the first time, Touya felt a deep sadness settle in his heart that his friend....the one he loved the most.... had been suffering in fear for so long.....and Touya had never suspected.
His eyes began to fill, seeing Yuki's attempt at a smile.......the horror his kind friend must have carried with him for so long...
What could he do to erase those years of fear...
He could only be there now.....to protect him.....to love him.
"Yuki," Touya whispered, looking into the blonde's eyes. Touya moved to the edge of the bed, facing Yukito as he sat in the chair........then reaching out and pulling him close, touching his face.........running a finger across his lips gently.......
"Yuki......I......." A slow blush appeared across Touya's face as he realized just what he was doing, and he hesitated, not knowing how Yukito would respond, not knowing.........does he feel the same.....could he love me too.......
His insecurities got the better of him though, and instead of bringing his lips down to meet Yuki's, he pulled him close to his chest and held him. "I'll never let anyone hurt you again.....I swear to you, Yuki......I will protect you....."
-
Yukito let himself be drawn to Touya, let his fingers run over his face... touching... taking away the painful memories. And then a touch to his lips, and Yuki's amber eyes widened a little in innocent surprise. He didn't let himself hope for more... he couldn't let himself... he would have to treasure this moment for what it was...
Then Touya pulled him close, warm arms wrapping around him protectively, and his words... "I swear to you, Yuki......I will protect you....." Then Yuki didn't care what happened, didn't care if his feelings were never returned. He relaxed into Touya's chest, curling himself like a baby, pressing his cheek against him. He could feel tears welling in his eyes, not from the fear, but from joy and heartbreak at the same time. Softly he uttered the only words he could think of. "Arigatou... To~ya."
-
"Arigatou... To~ya."
Hearing Yukito speak his name, so softly........so trustingly.....Touya felt a warmness fill his soul....and as Yukito lay cradled in his arms, he knew this was what he was destined for...Yukito was who he was destined for....I will never let you go....I will never let you hurt again...
Touya felt only love as he cradled Yuki in his arms....love pulling him to lift Yukito's chin gently....to search his eyes for that same feeling....and seeing what he thought was love reflected back to him in the blonde's tear filled eyes.....and hoping it wasn't just a wish.......Touya leaned in and pressed his lips gently against Yuki's for the first time.......
-
Yukito could hardly breathe as Touya's hand guided his chin up to his level. In those dark eyes he was sure he could see everything he hoped for. And then, as if it were a dream... too much to ask for, suddenly Touya's lips were pressed against his - so soft... and warm. Yuki was sure the sound of his heartbeat filled the room, it pounded so hard and fast.
They parted too soon, but Yuki didn't pull away, leaving their faces inches apart. For a long time he merely gazed back in surprise and wonder, as if he couldn't believe what had just happened. But in Touya's gaze he could see it clearly now. Love... pure love. And the wordless kiss told him everything he needed to know. Yukito's face bloomed into a huge smile - one of joy, relief, and most of all, love - blessed returned love... he hoped, oh he hoped it was true - even as he felt one tear escape his eye and make a path down the side of his cheek.
-
.......and Touya felt Yuki's sweet, soft lips respond....just as he'd wished, for so long.... His heart began to beat quickly....and then nearly skipped a beat as Yuki, face only inches from his, smiled up at Touya, a beautiful, shining smile...his kind eyes wide with wonder..as if his wish too, had been fulfilled...at last.
"Yuki....I....I love you," Touya whispered, finally able to speak the words he had longed for so long to tell his friend. "I love you." Touya gently wiped the tear from Yuki's cheek, dark eyes showing the amazement he felt, that they could have both held the same secret for so long.
Then bringing his lips down to meet Yuki's sweet mouth, he kissed him once again....
I will never let you go....never let you hurt....I promise you, Yuki......

(( I'm back now !))
Hori had her side tended too - It wasnt that bad ... She had had worse...
As Hori pattered around the hospital ..She suddenly felt a pain - deep within her chest like an electric shock .... " Shougo ... " she whispered... her eyes filling with worry ... Something had happened to him ... She knew it ...
She ran to the entrance to see him being carted in on a stretcher... Her eyes brimmed with tears ...
" SHOUGO !" She yelled running to the stretcher ... " SHOUGO !"
Amoungst all the bustle around them ... She hung on to the stretcher... Following him to 'Re-sus' - Tears flowing down her cheeks...
-
Where in the world are you Kagami?! When I get my hands on you... Freya thought as she sat ontop of a large black unicorn with black wings and a silver horn. She had lost track of her leader when they were attacking the small cafe. Her amber eyes squinted in the sunlight as she scanned the city for Kagami.
Suddenly her kudan snorted and indecated that it had spotted Kagmi. Freya pressed against her kudan as it went flying towards the ground. When they reached the ground, Freya leaped off Kagura and rushed over to Kagami's limp shape that was battered. "This is what you get for running off.." Freya said coldly, but her eyes were deep with worry.
"Kagura, help me bring him back to his apartment." she said motioning for her kudan. When she had made sure that Kagmi was on safely on her kudan's back they took off back to his aparment her long blonde hair blowing back in the wind.
-
Hori was Ushered forcefully out of Re-sus as the began to work on Shougo ...
' Miss You cant go in there .... ' The doctor said
" but !" Hori started only to be cut off
' I'm sorry ... please go and wait ... We will call you on intercom when we need you ... '
" Ok .... " She said ...watching him wander back into Re-sus ... the shutters drew...
Hori bit her lip and wandered into Yuki's and Touya's ward....Subconsiously ...
-
As Kagura touched down on the top of a tall building, Freya climbed down and with a bit of trouble tried to lift Kagami off her kudan. When she finally got him off she reached into his pocket and took out a shiny key. Freya tried to carry Kagami, but he was too heavy, so instead she summoned Kagura back and asked her kudan to help her carry him down to his apartment.
When they got there she prepared his bed and and carefully laid him in it and closed the door behind her. "Ahh Kagami, making me so worried..Don't you ever do that to me again. Then again, you propably will..." Freya muttered as she walked out onto the balcony of his apartment watching the sun set in front of her eyes.
-
Hori looked around ... And Saw Touya and Yukito... Seeing them together like that made her smile .. She turned away ... And waited for them to notice her before she came into their convesations .... She didnt want to disturb them ... So she waited - tears starting to slide down her cheaks ...
-
Yukito surrendered himself to Touya's kiss... never wanting it to end, as if he feared the moment he pulled away he might open his eyes to find it a dream. Touya's words still echoed in his mind - I love you........ I love you... He couldn't speak to tell him the same, instead pouring all his emotion into the kiss.
He caught his breath as they parted, his eyes locked open and honestly with Touya's. After a moment he blinked with distracted realization, uttering a soft "oh". He turned to see the girl at the door, waiting modestly, not wanting to interrupt. He smiled without a bit of embarrasment, but his eyes also reflected concern. "Hori-san... how are your injuries? Should you be walking around?"
-
As they slowly parted...Touya gazed into Yuki's warm, trusting eyes and knew he only wanted to go on looking into those beautiful eyes forever...
To hold and love Yuki forever...
His thoughts were interrupted as the girl, Hori, appeared at the door.
Touya noticed the tears that began to flow down her cheeks, and knew instantly... Shougo. Hesitant to say what he was thinking... not wanting to see the worry once again in Yuki’s eyes - but knowing, yet again, it was inevitable...Touya took Yuki’s hand, trying to comfort, before speaking to the girl, "It's Shougo, isn't it? He's been hurt."
-
Hori turned at the sentance ... She looked at the pair ... And nodded sadly ... Taking stepps towards her friends " Y-yer.... " she managed to say eventually ... " Its Shougo .... " .. The tears began to flow more... " He's been ... Taken in ....to Re-sus .. In a .. a Coma... " She burst into tears .... It was her fault .. If only she had pressured him ... He would have come to hospital before he would have gotten as bad as he did ...
Its my fault ...
-
" He's been ... Taken in ....to Re-sus .. In a .. a Coma... "
Touya felt Yukito tense at Hori's words, and began to gently caress the hand he was holding, keeping his own shocked worry for their friend from showing, "Shougo is tough. He's going to be alright," Touya said gently to both of them. "We'll see him as soon as they let us, and then we should all go home. Shougo wouldn't want us wandering the halls here worrying about him."
Touya slowly tried to stand, adamant on seeing his friend and then going home.
Needing to see Shougo with his own eyes, to know their friend would be alright.
Damn Shougo, never wanting to ask for help when he needed it...
"He went after that guy alone...didn't he?" Touya asked Hori suddenly.
-
" Yes... I arrived and stopped him from doing anything drastic....And then He went off... I let him go off... I let him .. I knew how bad he was but I let him ... " Saying outloud made it so much worse ... " I let him ... "
She snapped inside... " I cant leave him here ... I need to be here with him ... I need to stay ... " she started to slowly break down .
-
Yukito's hand tightened around Touya's as the words sunk in. "Taken in ....to Re-sus .. In a .. a Coma... " "He went after that guy alone...didn't he?" Shougo had been hurt, he could be dying, and it was all because of Kagami... all because Kagami had wanted him.
But his heart broke seeing Hori's grief in front of him. Gently he broke away from Touya, putting a comforting hand on each of her shoulders. "Don't worry," he reassured. "We'll stay here with you. We'll stay for as long as we need to." He glanced over at Touya, hoping he wouldn't be angry. He wasn't sure himself if he could go home to a soft bed, knowing Shougo was in a coma, all because his friend was trying to protect him.
-
Touya felt a deep sadness to see Yukito and the girl in such pain, faces filled with guilt and sorrow, both blaming themselves for what had happened to their friend. He slowly walked to where Yukito stood comforting Hori, and placed a hand on each of them, trying to relieve their pain...to take it away somewhat...
"Of course we will stay..." Touya told Hori softly. "But I want you to understand one thing..." Touya looked down at their friend, "This is not your fault. Shougo would have went on his own no matter what. You are not to blame." Then lifting Yuki's chin to look gently into his wide, sad eyes, "And you are innocent of this also. There is only one person to blame for all of this..."
Touya felt an anger rising in him at what had been done in the space of one day to his friends... to the one he loved... and vowed to do everything in his power to protect Yuki from the one that had put those bruises on his neck, a fear in his heart... and an expression of guilt and sadness on his kind face.
I will protect you, Yuki.... no matter what...
-
Hori felt the comforting hands ... She nodded at Yuki's words... And then Touya's ...
" Thank you ... " she whispered ... " I ... "
Suddenly she was cut off by an intercom message ...
" Would Miss Hori please come to reception ... Would Miss Hori Please come to reception ... "
She looked up to the speaker ...
" I'm allowed to see him ... " She said ... Quickly whiping the tears from her cheeks.. " You're allowed to come too ... I think "
-
Shougo lay still and unmoving, his wounds finally bandaged, with one of the nearby machines he was hooked up to bleeping out his heartbeat steadily. Those who hadn't seen his state on arrival might have dimissed him as simply sleeping.....
But they hadn't seen the wounds that lay under his bandages. They hadn't seen his X-rays.
Lying in his world of darkness, Shougo was unaware of the movements around him as nurses bustled in and out of his room. Occasionally faint sounds seeped through the barriers holding him back, but he did not respond to them, as he was unable to.
Instead, he just lay there, in a hospital bed, under white starched sheets.
Dreaming.
-
Hori strode into the room where Shougo lay ...She stopped abruptly as she saw his seeming peaceful body...and his seeming peaceful face.
She gingerly took steps towards him ... To his side... and she watched his steady breathing ...
Slowly, she reached out to his face ... to his cheek ... touching it carefully and delicatly as if it was to smash at any second.... " oh shougo ... " She whispered... Tears forming upon her sad soft eyes...
Then she remembered.. sometimes... if you spoke to the person .. i might help them to wake ...
A few seconds were silent as she thought of something that might be comforting to him ...
" Hey... " she said softly ... " Were here Shougo ... Me, Touya-san and Yukito-san... O.. Our wounds are tended to ...And .. were all ok ... "
The tears fell ...softly and silently ...
" Oh Shougo ... You silly thing ... " She smiled sadly with a slight giggle in her voice .. but a sad one " Wake up soon ...ok ?... I'll be here .. and Yukito-san and Touya-san will be too ... I Promise ..." She slowly bend over to his face.. then realised what she was doing and pulled slightly aback .. then all the way back ... A slight blush apppearing on her cheeks.
"Ano.. The Doctors said that .. you had multipule fractured ribs ...As well as other wounds... But I cant remember ... I just wanted to see you... I wasnt listening ... Sorry .. I'll tell you about it when I can remember .. ok ?"
-
Touya felt his eyes begin to mist over, watching the girl speak to Shougo.
It was obvious at that moment just how much Hori loved him....needed him... and it reminded Touya of his own feelings towards Yukito, and how that could have just as easily been the one he loved laying in that bed unconscious...
Taking Yuki's hand, Touya stood next the girl, who's tears were flowing freely down her cheeks, her love for Shougo raw and exposed. "He's going to be okay... I know it..." Touya told them. Then speaking a bit louder, "You hear that, Shougo. You're going to be fine, and we're all going to be here waiting for you to wake..."
-
"I'll be here .. and Yukito-san and Touya-san will be too ... I Promise ..."
"You hear that, Shougo. You're going to be fine, and we're all going to be here waiting for you to wake..."
Slowly, voices filtered into Shougo's world of darkness, lifting him up and giving him the strength to break free of the binds holding him back from consciousness.
"Huurrghh...." He moaned quietly, his eyes flickering open to take in his surroundings. Coughing hoarsely, he turned his head to the side, glancing up at the three people surrounding him.
"H...hori? Yukito? Touya? You're alright......*cough* Where exactly am I? The last thing I remember, I was flying towards the hospital..." He croaked.
-
Yukito's hand tightened unconsciously around Touya's. He couldn't imagine what he might do if it had been Touya lying there on that bed. And then, as if he had heard every word they'd spoken... Shougo's eyes slowly opened.
Relief flooded through Yuki and stepped forward to grasp Shougo's shoulder, unable to hold back. "Shh, don't talk Shougo," he said gently. "You're in the hospital right now. We're all here. You really scared us for a while."
-
Hori gasped lightly as she heard him spoke ... She rushed the the free side of the bed ...
-
"Shh, don't talk Shougo. You're in the hospital right now. We're all here. You really scared us for a while."
Shougo snorted indignantly, glaring up at Yukito.
"Me, scare you? Come on, you know that I've been in worse condition than this!" He laughed. Liar. "Besides, it was you lot that scared me. I thought that Kagami was really going to hurt you! Which reminds me...Yukito, how do you guys know...."
But he didn't finish his question, as Hori had suddenly rushed closer to him.
"Hori?" He asked, frowning. "Are you ok?"
-
" Sh... shougo ... ." She managed to say ... Then her face turned into a slight frown ... " Next time .. When I say for you to go to the Hospital ... You Go .. straight away .. and with a smile ... ok ? "
She had subconsiously bent down right to his face ...
" And dont ever do that to me again .. I dont know what I'd do if I lost you ... "
The tears came back as she ran the thought past herself ....
" I was so worried... " she said softly ... her expression falling into a worried , soft expression .
" Promise me that you will go as soon as I say ... "
She was getting slowly closer and closer... as she looked down to Shougo .. and his eyes... They seemed to peirce right into her ... Even though they were as soft as they were ..
-
" I was so worried... promise me that you will go as soon as I say ... "
Shougo's expression softened, and he stared up at his second in command, remembering exactly why he had always cared for and trusted Hori above all his other team members.
"Hori...I'm sorry that I worried you."
-
Her eyes softened .. and she brought her face into a smile... " Its ok .. I cant stay mad at you ... " She started to blush ....
She felt so nervous ' Come on ! ... Its the perfect time to say! Now now ! ' She said to herself...
" I ... I .. I .love you ... " She said .. .
-
" I ... I .. I .love you ... "
Shougo stared up at Hori, his mouth falling open.
"You...you love me? But Hori, you know I'm dating Primela right now.....so...so...." His voice trailed off, and he glanced at Touya and Yukito, silently begging for support. Seeing their small smiles, he took a deep breath and faced Hori again.
"Hori....I need you to do something for me." He said seriously.
-
She cringed just after she had said it ... ' I shouldnt have said it ... I shouldnt have said it ... '
"Hori....I need you to do something for me."
She looked at him ... " Yes ?" She asked... seeing the seriousness in his face ...
-
"Hori.....I want you to promise me...no, SWEAR to me......" Shougo began, gazing seriously up at Hori.
".....that when I ring Primela to tell her that it's over, you'll protect me from her wrath afterwards." He finished, grinning at the shocked expression on Hori's face. He felt better already.....
-
She just stared at him in shock ... ' ....................................... .......... ' ...
Regaining her sences - Her face broke out into a Smile... She placed a hand on her heart ... " I swear ... " She said ...
She couldnt be happier ... She couldnt even think straight ...
-
Seeing Hori drift off into a happy daze, Shougo chuckled and turned his attention to his other friends, smiling at the way that they were holding hands.
"And you guys are alright? Your injuries are all treated?" He asked in concern, before he realised that he hadn't got out his last question either, as he'd been interrupted by Hori.
"And Yuki, how do you know Kagami? Why's he after you? Please, Yukito...I know we're not as close as you and Touya are (understandably), but I'm still your friend, and I want to protect you. And I can do it better if you tell me what's wrong...."
"Please." He pleaded, his eyes slipping to Touya in the hope that the dark haired man would already know, and would tell him if Yukito held back. "Please, just tell me......I'd die to save any of you, you know that! So let me help...."
-
Hori snapped back from her little daydreams .. focusing upon the two men ... She didnt say anything but it was obvious that she was intrested ..
-
As Shougo looked to him, wanting answers, Touya felt torn.
He knew that eventually they would all have to talk about what had happened today, that everything would have to come out. But knowing how much Yukito had already been through... just admitting to Touya what had occurred those years ago, he felt he couldn't put the one he loved through any more pain...
Touya just wanted to take Yukito home and do everything he could to erase what he’d been through today, and that day so many years ago...
"Tomorrow," Touya told Shougo softly. "You need to rest, Shougo. We all need to." Touya looked to Yuki to see if he sensed any disagreement in his gentle eyes...
-
Yukito met Touya's eyes, silently thanking him for not saying anything just yet. He nodded quietly, and put a smile back on his face as he turned to Shougo. "Is there anything we can bring you?" he offered. "Maybe you're hungry? I think the rest of us are going to stop by the cafeteria." He looked toward Touya hopefully, suddenly realizing he was starving.
-
Shougo pursed his lips, thinking. He wasn't that happy about having both Touya and Yukito withhold such important information from him, but he could deal for the short term, as long as they kept their promise and told him tomorrow. And since they were going to the cafetieria....
"Maybe some watermelon, and sparkling water? I know from past experience how awful hospital food can be...especially the water. Ughh! No life to it! Water needs to be vital, and full of energy.....not just flat and unmoving." He said, staring pleadingly up at his friends.
((OOC. I have no idea what Shougo would want to eat/drink. I just thought since he's a water caster in X 1999, and has a water kudan in TRC, he'd feel very strongly about the quality of water! ))
-
She laughed... " We'll get right on it ,sir " She smiled .. " Anything else Sir wants ? "
-
Shougo stuck his tongue out at her, before smiling seriously.
"Nope, I'm fi...fi....fiiiine" Unnable to stop himself from yawning, Shougo's eyes slowly fluttered shut, eventually fully closing as he slipped back into the realm of sleep.
Except this time, he would be able to wake up.
-
She smiled ... " Sleep well, Shougo ... " She said gently .. Watching his peaceful face relax...
-
Touya saw the relieved look in Yukito's eyes and knew he'd made the right decision to delay the talk about what had happened. He watched as their friend talked a little... more like his old self... and then quickly fell asleep, exhausted. Touya then smiled gently at Yukito and Hori, "Looks like we had better go and get him what he wants. He's probably going to be starving when he wakes up again."
He guided them to the door, noticing as Hori kept looking back to Shougo... perhaps not wanting to leave him... "He's going to be okay now," He reassured her gently.
-
" Yes... " She said ... Looking up at Touya ... " Thank you ... the both of you " her eyes fell on Yukito .." I think I wouldnt have stoped crying if you wernt there " She smiled ...
-
After visiting the cafeteria, Yukito eating more than Touya and Hori put together, they bought the items that Shougo wanted and went back up to their friend's room to find him slowly waking from his sleep.
Touya found himself suddenly exhausted, only wanting to be back at their apartment near the restuarant, wanting to be alone with Yuki...
He walked over to their friend, placing a hand on his shoulder, "We'll be back tomorrow, Shougo." Then suddenly turning to Hori, "Would you like to come home with us, Hori? Or..." He smiled suddenly, the girl's face turning a light shade of pink, as she looked to Shougo.
-
" Ano... " She could feel herself burning up ... " I think .. I will stay here tonight ... " She smiled... Looking to Shougo ... and then Back to Touya ...
" But Thank you so much for offering, Touya-san " She smiled...
-
Kagami groaned, awakened by his kudan who was licking his face. urgh...I'm alive?
He sat up from the stone floor, rubbing the bruise on his neck. Wincing, he frowned and gritted his teeth in anger.
Damn you, Shougo. Why didn't you kill me?
Leaning back against a wall, he gazed ahead, face dark. If you had killed me, this would all be over..
-
He pinned Kagami against the wall, dark eyes flashing with pure rage as he tightened his grip around the other leader's throat, an animal like snarl escaping from his lips as he slowly choked the life out of the other man....feeling a sense of satisfaction as Kagami unttered a final cry before falling limp, his life fading away right before Shougo's eyes.
And he laughed, lifting his now bloodstained hands to the world, showing them that he would not accept this treatment...that no pain could stop him....
Shougo jerked awake with a gasp, his heart hammering in his chest as the last remnants of the dream slipped away from him, leaving him in the blessed sanctuary of reality. Glancing around the room, Shougo called out quietly;
"Hori?"
-
" I'm here.. " She said at the other side of him ... " Right here... "
she placed a hand upon his .. " A nightmare ?" She asked .. gentle tones to her voice ... and a warmth to her hand ..
-
Shougo smiled as he felt her hand on his, bringing it up to rest upon his cheek and leaning into the gentle touch. But the dark visions came back to him, and he grimaced, before turning to Hori with a pained look in his eye.
"Am I a killer, Hori? Do you think that I'm capable of taking someone's life just to gain revenge? Am I that violent?" He asked quietly, unsure of whether he would be able to bear whatever answer she gave him.
-
" No ... You stopped remember.. and thats what makes the difference ... Kagami would have carried on .. and taken the life.. You stopped.. ." she smiled... " You are not a killer or a murderer ... You dont have the evil mind that would do it ... "
She looked down at him ... " I promise... "
-
Shougo looked away, dark eyes troubled, although he was relieved at the answer he had received. Now just one more thing....
"Where are Touya and Yukito? They still haven't told me exactly why Kagami's so fixated on Yukito, and if I don't know soon, I'll never be able to defend my friends properly! Honestly, if I'm leaving hospital tomorrow, I need all the information I can get!"
He paused, and shot Hori a sheepish look.
"Just don't tell the nurses, alright? I don't think they'd appreciate me leaving quite yet." He pleaded.
-
" And neither do I !" She said .. her face frowning .. " I'm not having you leaving again Shougo ! " She semi scoulded him ... " No way "
