ive got an mkv file but i cant play it anyone noe any programs that can play mkv files and where to get the program domo arigatou in advance

You can play MKV files by downloading the Matroska pack from packs.matroska.org. (http://packs.matroska.org/) It's a trustworthy program. The pack on that website will let you play MKV files in Windows MediaPlayer and several other media players.

You can also download VLC Media Player which plays basically every media type out there, no spyware no virus's an amazing program i think the website is www.videolan.org
