This is my first time starting an roleplay...I usually just join them :sweatdrop: . So I'm not sure how this will turn out.
Theme: Outo country. Basically, it's just a random RP featuring that country :sweatdrop:

Outo country. Cat's Eye
Syaoran opened his eyes, then yawned and sat up from his bed. Another day in Outo... he thought, ruffling his hair. He got dressed, while a delicious aroma from downstairs reached his senses. Fai-san must be cooking something new for the cafe.
Picking up Hien, he walked downstairs.
"Ohayo."
((horrible start, gomen ne :sweatdrop: ))

"Ohayo, Syaoran-kun!" Fai replied, carrying a cup and small plate of pancakes with a wonderful smelling syrup covering them.
"We're getting ready to have breakfast, and It's a good thing you got down here before Kuro-chi ate it all!" He grinned mischievously in Kurogane's direction before sitting down in front of his own plate and putting a forkfull of pancake drenched in syrup into his own mouth, smiling the whole while.

"Feh... a person's gotta eat," Kurogane grumbled in response to Fai's comment. He was currently have issues with using the fork in his hand (damn foreign utensils, why couldn't all the worlds just use chopsticks?), and thus wasn't starting out the day in a very good mood. Fai's irritating smile wasn't really helping, either.
(OOC: Let me know if swearing is a problem. ^^;; I know Kurogane likes to swear, though...)

"And Kuro-mu is sure doing his part, ne?" Fai laughed, shoving another dripping bite of pancake into his mouth and chewing enthusiastically.
Fai glanced over at Kurogane with his next bite and made an exaggerated point of using his fork effortlessly.

Syaoran took a plate and cup, sitting down next to Kurogane. He took a bite, eyes widening a moment later.
"These are really good, Fai-san!"
(OOC: Let me know if swearing is a problem. ^^;; I know Kurogane likes to swear, though...)

"Arigatou, Syaoran-kun!" Fai smiled then glaced over at the empty seat.
"Sakura-chan is still sleeping, ne?"

Kurogane glared back at Fai, raising an eyebrow slightly. He stabbed at the stack of pancakes, managing to snag a large chunk of the food this time, and shoved it into his mouth victoriously. He continued on eating in silence, and when his plate was finished, helped himself to seconds.

"Ooooh, Kuro-pu LOVES Fai's cooking!" Gushed Fai as he smiled widely at the ninja.

"Mokona helped too!" Mokana said as he proudly bounced up and down.

"You sure did, Mokona!" Fai patted Mokona's head.
"We couldn't have finished the batter without your secret ingredient!"

"It was Yuuko-san's idea but Mokona did it!" Mokona happily bounces some more, and then looks at Kurogane and then kicks him. "Kuro-pi is taking too much food!"

"Knock it off, Pork Bun," Kurogane growled. He reached out to snatch the white creature but just barely missed. "What'd the hell you make it for if we're not supposed to eat it?"

Syaoran sweatdropped, watching kurogane and Mokona fight over the food. "So...what are we doing today, Kurogane-san?"

"Hah?" Kurogane looked at Syaoran. "Hunting kijis, of course!" At the suggestion of fighting and killing, his face had already broken into a wicked smirk.

Syaoran looked down at his half-eaten pancakes. "Ano....I was thinking... I was thinking maybe we could explore Outo today. " He turned slightly red, embarrassed by his words.

"Mokona wants to see Outo!" Mokona annouced, getting excited at the thought.

"Fine, but..." Kurogane glared at the white pork bun. "Does THAT thing have to come along?"

"Kuro-sama wants to go sightseeing too!" Fai exclaimed, smiling brightly.
"Plus, he doesn't want to miss a chance to show us how manly and tough he is in case we run into any kiji!" He laughed, patting Kurogane on the head and then quickly jumping out of his reach.

"Mokona has to come along! One of Mokona's 108 ability's, interpreting your languages!" Mokona said.

"Of course Mokona will come," Fai said, scooping up the breakfast dishes and putting them into the sink. "Kuro-pi would just cry from lonesomeness if Mokona didn't come, wouldn't you, Kuro-chan?"

"Ohayo" *yawn* "Fai-san what r u doing? it smells good"

Kurogane twitched slightly as he stood and picked up his sword, strapping it to his waist. "Maybe we'll get lucky and the kijis will eat it."

Syaoran got up from his seat, strapping "hien" to his own waist.
he turned around at the sound of sakura's voice. "Ohayo gozaimasu, hime. Did you sleep well?"

"Good morning, Sakura-chan!" Replied Fai. Then suddenly, as if by magic, set a plate down in front of her filled with the last few pancakes Kurogane hadn't managed to get his hands on.
"You better eat quick! Our Doggie-Duo is raring to get going and show us their fighting skills!"

"Are you going to come to, Fai-san?" asked Syaoran, cocking his head.

"Of course, Syaoran-kun, I wouldn't miss this chance to see the the famous Doggie-Duo in action!" Fai picked up Mokona and put him on Sakura's shoulder then put his arms around both of them. "We'll be their cheering section in case of trouble, right Sakura-chan?"

"Will you shut up already with your stupid names?" Kurogane huffed. He stomped to the door and sat down crosslegged, resting chin in hand boredly while he waited for the rest of the crew to get ready. "But..." he smirked, unable to resist Fai's bait, "it's true we are the strongest kiji hunters in Outo, heh."

Syaoran finished his pancakes, taking a sip from this so called coffee. "So, we close the cafe today then?"

"Yep, I think it would be fine to close up for one afternoon!" Fai agreed.
He slipped on his coat and helped Sakura into hers.
"Syaoran-kun, you have the map, ne?"

Syaoran nodded, holding up the folded map. "It's right here."

Mokona jumps into Kurogane's shirt and then pops his head out, saying, "Let's go!"

Fai quickly walked out the door and into the bright afternoon sunshine.
There was just something about this world that made him feel hyper, even more so than usual.
Glancing over his shoulder, he called out to his young friend, "Syaoran-kun, where should we go first? I overhead some customers saying there was an ancient shrine located just North of here. Sounds like something you would be very interested in, ne?"

Syaoran perked up, excitement growing quickly inside him. "ancient shrine?" He looked at the map Sawako Shrine...."Heh, let's go! :keke: "
He quickened his pace, eager to see the shrine. He couldn't help it. His love for archaeology had gotten hold of him.

"And you never know, Kuro-mu just may find some big bad shrine kaijuu to fight!" Fai laughed, looking back at the large ninja.

"Hey, get out of my clothes, you thing!" Kurogane yelped as Mokana made himself comfortable in his shirt. "Geez, what do you think I am?" He looked up when he heard his name (or.. sort of his name >_<) spoken, as he hadn't really been paying attention. "Shrine... kaijuu? Well, beats sightseeing any day. Hey, what the heck are you DOING in there!?" He directed his attention back to the white manjuu, sticking his hand into his shirt and fishing around, finally pulling it out by the ears.

Syaoran gazed at the entrance of the shrine, his mouth gapped. The shrine was old and wooden, sakura trees at full bloom were planted beside the shrine. As in a trance, he walked into the shrine.
It's...beautiful.

"Hyuuu, sugoi ne?" Fai murmed, also taken by surprise at the beauty of the old shrine. He then laughed as Syaoran walked past him and into the wooden building with a dazed look of delight on his face. How nice it is to see the usually serious boy so happy.

Kurogane finally dropped the white manjuu and looked up at the shrine in front of him. Even he could appreciate its beauty, although he didn't admit it out loud. And Syaoran seemed to be pretty caught up in it, which was slightly amusing to see.
"Well, you were wrong, Fai," he commented. "No shrine kaijuu. Yet."

Fai startled and a huge grin spread across his face at the sound of his name being spoken by the large ninja. Perhaps because the other man was also so mesmerized by the beauty of the shrine had he let this one word slip for the first time. "Kuro-chan, you called me Fai!" And with that, Fai proceeded to grab the ninja in a quick bear hug and then run away into the shrine.

(( ^^;; Whoops, I forgot how Kurogane addresses Fai. Guess I never noticed that before))
"O-oi!!" Kurogane was snapped back into reality when the other man suddenly threw his arms around him and then fled. No way was he going to let Fai get away with humiliating him like that, so he drew his sword and took off after the running figure. "Get back here you damn wizard so I can slice your head off~~!! You're not gettin' away with that!"

"Big-Doggie's on the loose!" Cried Fai in mock horror as he ran through the entrance to the shrine. Then just as suddenly, he was stopped in his tracks by a feeling of strangeness. His eyes narrowed as he slowly glanced around. Something's not right here.....

A girl followed them at a distance ... Her blazing scarlet eyes observing every movement ... She knew one was sencing her and was in discomfort about her ... She stepped backwards slightly into the shadows... her feet making slight taps on the floor

Syaoran stepped into the shrine, as in a trance. He didn't realize the dangers inside; the kijiis aiming to attack him. Nor did he see the girl that in the shadows, watching him and the others.

Kurogane felt it the moment he stepped through the shrine. He saw the the wizard did too, so it certainly wasn't his imagination, not that his sense was ever wrong about these things. The sword that he had pulled out to wave at the blonde mage was now gripped in his hand with readiness.
Footsteps. Small footsteps.
Over there.
With a hand to Fai's chest, he shoved the other man roughly aside and strode steathily toward the shadows, ready for whatever it was that would come out, muscles poised and ready.
A curtain moved. Kurogane saw it, and moved with purpose. In a surprise movement he raised his sword to strike. The curtain slashed in half, to reveal... nothing. Kurogane whirled around and slashed at the kiji that suddenly jumped him from behind. It fell to the floor in two halves with a deadly thud. He gripped Sohi, ready for the rest of them to come out.

"Hyuu, Kuro-sama is sugoi...." Fai murmered softly, while keeping his eyes narrowed and reflexes ready. "But.....you didn't have to be so rough!" He added, blue eyes looking sideways at the ninja.
Then faster than the wizard could blink, wicked sharp darts flew from his hands, striking the kiji that had silently entered behind them.

Kurogane watched the kiji drop to the floor with hardly an outward reaction. Of course, he expected nothing less from the wizard. Despite the idiotic behavior he put on, he suspected Fai could be quite deadly if he chose to be. After a pointed glance at the wizard, a simple "Humph" was the only reply he gave.
Kurogane's keen eyes glanced about the room. Kijis didn't make small footsteps like the ones he'd heard. No, there was something else going on here.

Syaoran, still in trance, closed his eyes; walking slowly up to the looming ancient statue.

The Celes wizard cast a questioning glace over at the dazed boy, who walked as if under some type of spell, then frowned suspiciously at the statue, sitting high before them. He narrowed his eyes at the figure, carved in ancient stone, but from the distance couldn't make out what it was, just that it carried an aura of evil that put a chill down his back.

The girl raced through the shadows ... Towards Syaoran... Blasting several of the Kiji with blasts of fire on her way ... She tired fast when using magic ... As she was inexperienced in the art ... The statue was indeed evil to the very core ... She would not let this Boy touch it ... She skidded out into his path ... " Stop !" She yelled ... Hoping that no sort of attack was to follow ...

"What's up with the kid?" Kurogane frowned as he watched Syaoran approach the statue, acting strangely.
His eyes widened slightly in surprise when the girl appeared out of nowhere. His muscles tensed, thinking she was ready to hurt the younger boy, until he saw she had only thrown herself between him and the statue. He didn't move, remained wary nevertheless, eyeing the girl with fiery suspicion. "Who the hell is that?" he stated flatly. She was just a little kid, but still, there was something about her Kurogane didn't like.

Hearing the cry, Syaoran opened his eyes slowly. His face remained expressionless; his brown eyes lost their clear gleam. Seeing the girl in front of him, blocking him from the statue, the boy reached for 'Hien' strapped to his side. you mustn't get in my way...
He raised his sword. Do not get in my way...

Her eyes widened in some disbeliefe .. he was serious !
She quickly mustered a ball of light into her hand... Enought to knock him to the floor .. but not nough to hurt him seriously ...
She thrust the ball at his chest ... " Snap out of it !"

Syaoran slammed onto the ground, driven by the impact of the ball.
Getting up, a he shook his head.urk...what had happened? He felt as if his head had been beaten repeatedly by a club. Taking a step, he suddenly lost balance and fell into Fai's arms.
His vision was blurred, but he could see an outline of a girl, panting for breath.
"Who...are you?"

"Yes, introductions would be a good place to start, ne?" Fai said, holding onto Syaoran, who still had a dazed look about him, and was having trouble getting to his feet. The wizard had watched the young boy walk towards the statue as if in a daze, perhaps overcome by some sort of magic surrounding the stone figure, and then seeing the girl fly out of nowhere, he stood poised and ready to interfere.
The girl seemed genuinely worried about something though, and not out to hurt Syaoran, so Fai let her use her magical ability to stop him, suspecting that if Syaoran had actually attacked the statue with his sword, they'd all be in worse shape than the boy was in now.

She was suprised at their straight-forwardness and was consiquently quieter ...
" I ... I'm Hori ... " She said rather shyly ...
She was rather tired too... Magic drained a good lot of her anergy ...
" I'm sorry if I hurt you ... " She said to Syaoran ... " But I had too ...!" She said looking directly at him ...
She looked down to the ground - she wasnt used to dealing wih people ...
For her .. It was straight in and straight out .

Standing up with some support from Fai, Syaoran smiled at the girl and shook his head. "No, I'm all right. If you hadn't done that......"
He looked around the shrine "What happened? When I entered the shrine, I heard the statue calling out my name. Then...my mind went blank" He winced as his head gave another stab of pain.
Syaoran looked at Hori. The girl might've saved them from great danger.
"I'm Syao-- ah, I mean.......little doggy." Syaoran sweatdropped, remembering the names Fai had given them when they came to Outo.

She bowed politely .. " Hajimimashite ...err.. Little doggy ... " She said ...
She came up again ... " The statue has some form of mind controling properties... "She looked at it ... " you were under its influence ... " She looked back at them ..
She spotted Kurogane ... She tilted her head round the two infront of her ... and watched him carefully ...

"Don't worry about Big Doggy over there, he doesn't bite, usually," Fai said smiling, but still on guard. The waves of magic coming from the statue had all but disappeared, but he knew that could change at any moment. And who knew what other dangers lurked in the old shrine.

She smiled up at him ... " mm ... "
She stepped around Fai ... and went up to Kurogane " Watashi wa Hori .. " She bowed again " Hajimemashite Big Doggy " She said politely ...
" Please regard me kindly ... Mina-sama " She regained her normal posture ...
" Oh! .. " She said and looked at Fai ... " What is your name ?" She asked kindly ...

Fai gave a slight bow and smiled mischiviously, "I'm Big Kitty."
Then reaching into Kurogane's shirt and pulling out Mokona, Fai laughed, "And this little cutie is Mokona!"

" Hajimemashite - Big Kitty-sama ... Mokona-sama " She smiled " Little doggy-sama ... Big doggy -sama "
"... mm ... Why are you here ?" She asked ...

((OOC: our mokona's in Germany, sadly. Do you guys think we can try and rp around this? ))
"We're exploring Outo. We came here only a few days ago" explained Syaoran.

" I see ... " She said .." Well .. If you want to know what i'm doing here ... I'm protecting this place ... More like ... the people who come in ..." She messed with her skirt ..

"Protecting them from this, I'm guessing?" Fai asked, walking cautiously around the statue, trying to get a better look at it.
Mokona bounced up and down on his shoulder, excitedly.
"And what happens to the people who come in, what does the statue do?"
Fai already had a pretty good idea of just what the statue did, but he asked the girl anyway, stalling for time, as he walked the perimeters of the old stone relic.
(ooc: we can work around Mokona easy, it's Sakura I'm more concerned with!)

" Its use is for evil .." she said ... " Consuming pure hearts to get a grasp upon more power... to finally awaken fully ... And then .. I dont know what happens .. " She said looking at the floor .. " Dont touch it ...It only speeds up the process... "

Syaoran pondered. Could it be a feather? "Has it always been like this?" he asked, looking at Hori

Kurogane, who had been not-so-quietly fuming about the ridiculous name he had been given, finally calmed down and now listened carefully to what the girl had to say with a sullen frown. He noticed the thoughtful look in Syaoran's eyes and realized what the boy was thinking - perhaps the statue's power came from one of Sakura's feathers. They'd seen it happen before.
As if he hadn't seen enough weird and unbelievable things on their journey so far already. "Evil statues," he muttered to no one in particular. "What next? Feh..."

"Ah, Sakura-chan, you're awake!" Fai smiled, leading the young girl away from the statue, knowing that if pure hearts were what it desired, Sakura-chan was the one most in danger of it's effects.

Syaoran sweatdropped nervously, quickly introducing Sakura to Hori. "Th-this is little-kitty.."

Hori could tell something was not right ... " Nice to meet you ... Little Kitty ... or Sakura-chan " She bowed politely

" N-nice to meet u Hori...Syaoran-kun where have u been?" Sakura asked and smiled

Syaoran stood silently, wondering if their true names would get them into trouble. Doubting this, attempted to change the subject. "Hori-san, if you have time, why don't you come visit our cafe sometime? It's the wooden building with a cat's logo on it. "

Sakura stared at Syaoran-Kun... "Isn´t Hori here right now at the moment?" O_o

" you run a cafe ?" She asked... " wow .. thats really pretty cool !"

Sakura heard a voice in her head telling her to go away
"I´m going for a walk i be right back"
Sakura walked away down the street...

"Actually, Big-kitty and little-kitty here run it. Big-doggy and I are kijii hunters" replied Syaoran.
Glancing at Sakura, he saw her slowly stroll away

"Syaoran-kun?" Sakura continued to walk...
Sakura talked to herself :why am i feeling lonely?:

" Wow ..." She said ... " Kiji Hunters and chefs "

"Hime!"
Syaoran caught up with Sakura, a questioningly but worried look on his face. "hime...is something the matter?"

Seeing the worried expression on the boys face, and also knowing how much he wanted to question the strange girl longer, Fai turned to the boy and spoke reassuringly, "No worry, Syaoran-kun, I'll see where Sakura-chan is off to and keep her safe."

' hime ?' She thought .. ... This was getting all to strange for her ...She was feeling a little bit baffled

Sakura looked at Syaoran-Kun´s face.. " I´m fine" Sakura lied

" Thats not the case ... " She said to Syaoran ... " Please ... Dont lie hime-sama ... "

"So many voices" Sakura sayed after Sakura fainted

... She felt the waves of the statue powering up again .... " We need to get her out of here fast !" She said with some destress in her voice ...

"Syaoran-kun, I'll take Sakura-chan back to the cafe," Fai said, lifting up the fainted princess and hurrying out of the shrine. "You and Big Doggy meet us back there soon, ne?"

'Syaoran-kun ' She thought ... ' So Little doggy is Syaoran-kun ...Little Kitty is Sakura-hime-sama .. Big kitty is Fai-sama and Kurogane-sama , by process of elimination , is Big doggy '...
'I wonder why they didnt want me to know their realy names .. But there is a reason for everything'.

Nodding, Syaoran gave another worried glance at Sakura before Fai carried her away. He peered up at Kurogane, who had been awfully quiet since they came into the shrine."Kurogane-san? "

Kurogane watched Fai carry away the princess, and noticed the worried look on the boy's face. "She's better off nowhere near here," he attempted to reassure the other.
"And you," he turned and glared at Hori, "better start telling us more about THAT" he poked a finger at the statue, "and why it's making people act so weird." He paused, suddenly getting a bad sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach as the evil energy from the statue seemed to increase.

The green-clad girl stood in front of the Cat's Eye Cafe, a frown on her face. With a sigh, she crossed her arms.
"Nmaaa... I thought they would've been open now..." She whined to herself.
Unsure of what else to do, she looked around before sighing again, deciding to continue waiting.

As Fai approached the Cat's Eye Cafe, cradling Sakura-chan in one arm, and a large bag filled with the sake Kurogane had requested in the other, he was surprised to see a girl standing, staring into the windows with a disappointed look on her face.
Before she began to leave, Fai called out to her, "Gomen ne, for our lateness! You are just in time for a special treat!"

The girl jumped slightly at the sound of a voice, and turned to where it had came from.
She shifted a bit as the blonde man approached.
"Ah, I take it you're the Cafe's owner then?" She asked a bit nervously as she pointed at the building.

"Big Kitty, at your service," Fai said, bowing slightly. Then seeing the girl glance at the princess he was carrying, Fai smiled. " She's Little Kitty, and as you can see, very tired!"
Fai opened the door and invited the girl to come in.
As he walked inside, he laid Sakura-chan gently down on the couch and once again turned to face the girl. "And you are?" He asked, smiling.

"Ah..." She began as she entered after Big Kitty "My name is, um, Arientioth. But you can call me Ari, if it's easier..."
((ooc: Feh, sorry for the short posts...))

"Nice to meet you, Ari," Fai replied. "The other's should be along shortly, why don't I make us something delicious to eat and drink until then?"
While Fai began to get to work whipping up enough sata andagi for all of them, he suddenly decided that Kuro-chan wouldn't mind if he sampled the bottles of sake the ninja had asked for. Getting out several glasses, Fai proceeded to pour out generous helpings for a taste.

"Uh, alright..." Ari looked around, before finding herself a seat. Something Big Kitty had said then clicked.
"Wait, others?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, three others that would be; Big Doggy, Little Doggy, and Mokona!"
Fai told Ari, while he mixed, stirred and then took a drink.
"They should be along any minute now. In the meantime, try this!" Fai sat a plate of the delicious smelling, chocolate dessert in front of her and smiled.

"Um." Ari stared at the dessert that had been set in front of her.
Like most girls, she loved chocolate. Actually, maybe she liked chocolate more than the average person. That didn't matter, but what did, was her lack of cash, having blown most of the small amount she had on accessories, such as the large blade strapped to her back.
But still... It was chocolate, and it smelled really good...
...
Well, Big Kitty wouldn't have offered it if he had expected her to pay, right?
Right?
Ari grabbed a fork, scooped a piece of the dessert, and popped it in her mouth.
Her eyes widened. "Wow! That's really good!" She exclaimed once she had swallowed.
Personally, she felt that was a bit of an understatement, but she was never really good at voicing her opinion.

Fai laughed kindly at the girl's reaction to the chocolate and began to devour his own helping. Between bites, the blonde wizard glanced at the girl curiously, "So, you're a kiji hunter, ne?"

At the question Ari froze, looked down, and blushed.
"Eh-heh... Not exactly..." She looked back at Big Kitty.
"Y'see, I had a friend with me, and we were both going to register as a team, but, uh, we kinda got separated. Then lost."
Ari scratched the back of her neck. "So, I kinda figured my friend would come to a Cafe like this one, and I thought I could wait here in case she got the same idea."
Arientioth paused, before adding in a slightly embarrassed voice, "Ah, after buying some things on the way..." she indicated the sword on her back, as well as the tail and wings that were sewn onto her clothes.

Kurogane watched Fai carry away the princess, and noticed the worried look on the boy's face. "She's better off nowhere near here," he attempted to reassure the other.
"And you," he turned and glared at Hori, "better start telling us more about THAT" he poked a finger at the statue, "and why it's making people act so weird." He paused, suddenly getting a bad sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach as the evil energy from the statue seemed to increase.
" I said ... "She said " It wants to awaken..but needs pure hearts to do so ... It takes them from whoever it can get its hands on. ".

"Hmmm, sounds like a good idea to me," Fai replied. "You never know, your friend just may very well show up sooner than you think!"
Fai took one last, large bite and then walked over to check on the princess, covering her with his coat.
Then turning back to the girl he blurted out, "Wonder if I can find Big Doggie some wings and tail like that for when he goes Kiji hunting?"

Ari smiled slightly. "Well, they were pretty expensive... But they did have larger wing models that let the wearer glide for short distances..."
She paused, remembering how absolutely cool those had looked.
... And how expensive they were.
"Ah, but even if I hadn't bought anything else, I wouldn't have been able to afford it."

"You're awake, Little Kitty!" Fai smiled down at Sakura-chan. "This is our guest, Ari. She's waiting for her friend to show up here......ah, what is your friend's name?" Fai asked
But before she could answer, Fai began to laugh, picturing Kuro-mu in great big wings and a tail, while fighting Kiji.

"What r u laughing at Fai-san?" Sakura asked and begun to laugh as well

Sakura's laughing got Fai giggling even harder, as he pictured wings large enough to actually allow Kuro-wan to hover, and he began to cough on Kurogane's bottle of sake that he'd been drinking.
Catching his breath, he finally answered, "I'm just thinking about how happy Big Doggie will be with a little gift I'm going to buy him."
Hmmm, wonder when the doggie-duo will get back?

Syaoran cocked his head "awaken?"
Peering outside the shrine, he saw the red-tainted sky. the sun was starting to set. "We should get back, kurogane-san."
He turned to Hori and bowed. "It was nice meeting you."

" The pleasure was all mine .. I'll walk you out ,ne?" She said returning the bow ...

"Yeah, I suppose," Kurogane agreed reluctantly. He was pondering what might happen if he tried to attack the statue with his sword (after all, he was sure that he did not have a pure heart, so there was no risk there), but he followed Syaoran out of the shrine anyway. They walked along the dusty streets toward the cafe, and Kurogane sneezed suddenly. Rubbing his nose, he murmured suspiciously. "Somebody's talking about me behind my back..."

Hori waved them off ... Then returned to the statue ...
" You will be in soo much trouble if you hurt those people again .." She said to the statue ..

Back at the Cafe, Fai was sitting crosslegged on the counter, breaking into Kurogane's second bottle of sake, and chatting with Little Kitty and their guest, Ari.
"Ah! I see our Doggie Duo is fast approaching as we speak!" Fai cried, leaning over to reach under the counter to pull out glasses to fill, and to hide Kuro-chan's one already empty bottle of sake.

Kurogane entered the cafe with Syaoran. He raised an eyebrow at Ari, but as she didn't seem either threatening or interesting, he headed straight for the bar. He picked up one of the glasses Fai was setting out and held it out toward the wizard. "Sake," he ordered. He was feeling rathered frustrated that he'd only had the chance to slice one measly kiji today and really needed a drink at the moment.

Entering the cafe, Syaoran rushed behind the counter to help Fai. He then noticed the girl and bowed. "Would you like anything else?"

Ari blinked as the two people came in.
"Ah... You two are Little Doggie and Big Doggie?" She asked, feeling a bit awkward.

Fai giggled and bowed to Kurogane's demand of sake.
Then taking the bottle he was drinking from and turning it over the glass, noticed it was empty.
Seeing Kurogane's face begin to turn a delightful shade of red, Fai thought it best to reach down and pull out another bottle, unfortunately he pulled out the other empty bottle he'd been hiding.
"Oh, gomen ne....Big Doggie!" Fai laughed, then reached back once again, this time pulling out a brand new bottle and handing it to the ninja.

Kurogane was not pleased to see two empty bottles of alcohol, to say the least. "Quit callin' me stupid names," he exploded, slamming his glass down so hard that it shattered, "and what the hell did you do with my sake!!" If Fai was drunk already, he really was not in the mood to endure another night of constant meowing. And dammit, he wanted sake!!

"Oh........Big Doggie's angry!" Fai made a sad face, then lifted a full bottle of sake in front of Kurogane's face, "This'll cheer up Kuro-chan in no time!"

Big Doggie's outburst had, quite frankly, scared the bajeebus out of Ari.
The wannabe-kiji hunter quickly got up from where she had fallen in surprise, but stayed crouched behind the table. Just in case.
... Or something.

Kurogane didn't even notice the frightened girl behind him, as he snatched up the sake from Fai and took a gulp straight from the bottle (since he'd already smashed his glass...). After he'd satisfied his thirst for the moment with one-third of the bottle, he peered at the blonde man warily through one eye. "You'd better not be drunk," he stated. "'Cause if you are, I'm kickin' you out on the street tonight."

"Aw, Kuro-woof-woof is soooo mean to Big Kitty!" Fai cried, hanging his head, oblivious to the audience they were attracting.
"And I didn't drink all the sake," Fai pulled the bag up and sat it on the counter, spreading it open and lining the bottles up on the counter. "Taaa-Daaa!" He laughed. "See, there's enough for everyone!"

Syaoran sweatdropped nervously. Those two always seem to get into such commotion. "I'm sorry about this..." he muttered to Ari.

"Sake for everyone!" Fai suddenly yelled. "On the house, courtesy of Big Doggie!"
He then looked cautiously, innocently, up at Kurogane to see his reaction, and began to pour from one of the huge bottles he'd opened when Kurogane wasn't looking.

Ari glanced at Little Doggie. "Ah? Ah... It's alright..."
She watched Big Doggie and Big Kitty a moment more, before turning to face Little Doggie completely. "Um... Are they always like that?"

Syaoran nodded. "Yes.."
He watched the fuming Kurogane start to chug down the bottles of sake "ano..."

"Whoa! Kuro-woof's doing some catching up!" Fai cried happily, from atop the counter where he still sat.

"Hah?! I didn't give no courtesy to anyone!!!" was his surly reply to Fai's statement. He considered knocking the thin wizard off his precarious perch on the counter just for the fun of it, but deciding it would put too much of the sake at risk, he resigned himself to his bottle again with a growl. He was going to need a lot of it if he wanted to endure the rest of the night...

"You wouldn't lock Big Kitty outside for real would you, Kuro-Woof?" Fai asked, looking up at the ninja innocently, who was now working on his second bottle of the night.
"If you locked Big Kitty out, who would be there to tuck you in and give you a good-night kiss like usual?" Fai laughed, took a drink, and tried to give Kurogane a huge grin with his mouth filled with sake.

The ninja's face took on an evil but annoyed smirk, relishing the thought of throwing the other man out in the cold and seeing his reaction. "Try me, wizard, just try me."

Fai tilted his blonde head slightly, as if considering Kurogane's challenge, then grinning mischiviously, he downed the last of his bottle, sat it down on the counter, and leaned forward, giving Kurogane a huge hug.
"Ah, really deep down inside, you love Big Kitty, don't ya Kuro-woof!" Fai laughed.

"Get offa me!!" Kurogane shoved the other man away from him, sending them both off-balance and tumbling to the floor. "That's it!!" Kurogane huffed as he sat up, snagging the wizard by the collar and dragging him toward the door. "I'm throwing you out now!"

Hori stood outside the door. She looked up and saw the Cat painted on a peice of wood ... " this must be the place " She said .. she reached for the handle and pulled it open ... She squeeked as suddenly she was bobmarded with something .. really heavy .... and laughing ... She luckily she was fast enought to push herself to one side... She fell in onto the ground
She reconised the body ... " Big Kitty !" She yelled !

Before Fai could even laugh out a protest, the ninja had knocked them both to the floor and Fai found himself dragged, then tossed to the sidewalk.
Big Kitty!
Laughing, for he hadn't had to work too hard to get Kuro-chan to the end of his rope tonight, the wizard turned to face the young voice that called his name.
"Ah! You're the girl from the shrine, aren't you?" He asked. Then slowly getting to his feet, he reached a hand out to help the young girl up.
"Hmm, Big Doggie can't lock out a guest, we'll just have to get him to........."
Then Fai noticed the little white creature through the window, bouncing toward the door to let them back in. "Ah, looks like Mokona will take care of us!"

" Hai ... " She said to Fai ....getting up with his help ... " ... " she paused for a second ... " Are you alright ?" She asked him... "you were thrown out pretty hard... " He had hit her on the way out and her arm was now a little tender...

As Big Kitty was thrown out, Ari found herself only able to look on with an open mouth. First, she pointed at the door the Cafe-owner went through, then she looked at Big Doggie, then back at the door. She repeated this exercise a few more times, before finally saying something.
"... Can he do that?" she asked Little Doggie.

"Oh, me? I'm fine!" Fai laughed, dusting himself off. "Big Doggie's just a little grumpy right now, but don't mind him. Are you okay? I seem to remember bumping into you as Big Doggie tossed me out?"

She moved her arm ... " my arms a little sore ... " she said... flinching as she touched her left arm ..

"Oh, let's go in and get you some ice for that!" Fai looked at the girl, concerned. "And whatever you want to eat or drink, it's on the house!"
Fai opened the door and walked back in, casting a cautious glance over at the ninja.

" Oh ...I ... !" She said in protest ... But decided not to ... It was very kind of him ... " Thank you ... " She smiled .. following Fai into the Cafe...She looked around she hit the warm air of the interior ...

"Have a seat, and uh........" Fai smiled brightly. "Don't worry about Big Doggie, I'll take care of him!"
Fai went back to the counter, flashing Kuro-chan a small smile. "Gomen ne, Big Doggie, Fai was a bad Kitty..........I'll behave now!"
Fai pulled out all the desserts he had made earlier, passed them out, giving Kurogane an extra large piece, then sat back down crosslegged on the counter, and watched Kurogane with his chocolate.......quietly, for now.

She was gven her dessert by Fai ... " Thank you Kitty-sama .." She spotted Syaoran ... " Ohayo Little Doggy-sama "

Bad... kitty?! Kurogane twitched slightly, considering for the hundredth time why the gods had conspired against him to stick him with such strange companions. He sat down with his sake again, though he ignored Fai's chocolate for the time being. From the corner of his eye, he noticed the wizard watching him and acting strangely quiet. But aside from the occasional glare, Kurogane said nothing more.

Ari nodded at Hori.
"Ah... I'm Arientioth... Or Ari, for short." She said a bit nervously. Ari wasn't really good in social situations - talking was usually her friend's job.
Fortunately, upon being handed a random dessert, she had found an excuse- er, 'reason' for not saying much more than that.

Syaoran stood standing; speechless as he watched Fai get thrown out onto the street.
Then seeing that Fai was okay as he walked in. he spotted Hori. He bowed. "Ohayo, Hori-san."
Syaoran sat on a stool, eating his chocolate. Watching Kurogane chug down his 3rd bottle of sake, he sat awed with his fork half-way through his mouth.

Fai laughed at the awed expression that appeared on Syaoran's face as he watched Kurogane work on his third bottle of sake, then glanced quickly at Kurogane and asked, "Don't you want to try your sata andagi, Kuro-myu?"

As Ari finished her dessert, she had found herself with enough time to think about her current situation.
Okay. So, her friend didn't show up. Well, here, at least. So now what? Keep coming back to Cat's Eye every day until she does? Or actually look around more tomorrow-
Oh. Wait... Waaaaaaait...
It was then Ari remembered something rather important - She needed a place to stay!
Cursing her lack of foresight and general newb-ness, Ari looked back over to Little Doggie.
"Ah... Little Doggie... I'm sorry, but... You wouldn't happen to know where I could find a place to stay, would you?" She scratched the back of her neck. "I'm kinda really new here, and, uh, completely forgot to find somewhere earlier, so... um... Yeah."

He didn't even flinch at the teasing name this time. He glanced at the sweets in front of him. "Not really..." He regarded Fai seriously for a split second, one of those "I'm-on-to-you-I-don't-care-how-much-you-smile" looks. Then he stood, not even fazed by the three bottles of sake he'd downed. "I'll be in bed," he announced, moving to leave the room.

Fai's blue eyes grew wide and serious at the pointed stare Kurogane gave him.
He dropped his gaze, face turning serious, and lifted his bottle of sake to his mouth, emptying it, as the ninja turned and began to walk away.
How much he sees when no one is looking.......
But would he understand if I told him why?
Fai looked out the Cafe window, into the night. Rain was beginning to fall and lightning suddenly lit up the sky, followed by a huge crash of thunder.......

" Oh !" She said suddenly .. fishing in her pockets ... " I was wondering ... did any of you drop these ? " She pulled out a pair of gloves....

"Oyasumi-nasai, Kurogane-san" said Syaoran, as he watched Kurogane stomp back into his bedroom.
He turned around and saw the worried look on Ari's face. "A place to stay?" he smiled. "Of course. We don't have a lot of space...You can sleep in my bedroom. I can sleep here." Watching the lightning outside, he knew he couldn't let her leave.
Facing Hori, he shook his head. "No...I've never seen those around before."

Kurogane turned to Syaoran just before leaving. "We should start searching for the feather tomorrow," adding quickly lest he seemed too concerned, "I'm starting to get sick of this world already."

" Ok ... But I dont believe anyone else to my knowledge has been in there....for .. ages ... And I do keep it tidy " She smiled " Thats why I asked... "
She looked at Fai .. he seemed a little.... out of personality ..

As Fai stared into the darkness, the storm became more violent, rain swirled around their windows, blocking the night from their view.
With the next crash of thunder, they were plunged into darkness as the electricity gave out.
"Looks like no one's leaving tonight," Fai observed quietly, from atop the counter.

Hori's eyes adjusted quickly to the darkness... after all ... Being in the shadows what what she did !
" I dont want to be a burden " She said ... " I'm alright with the storm ... I dont mind being out there..."

"Don't be silly, Hori-chan!" Fai told the young girl, as he lit several candles. "You can take my bed for the night. I can sleep on the floor in Kuro-sama's room, uh, maybe." He hesitated, looking at the back of the big ninja, who had paused when the lights had went black.

" But .. I ... " she looked at the floor ... this was slightly awquard for her - she had always slept at the shrine ... this was totally new to her ... " I really dont want to kick you out of your own bed ... I'd be asking for it ... !"

"No, no, really...I insist," Fai smiled. "I couldn't have you leave, it's too dangerous out there right now! And I'm sure Kuro-sama...."
Another crash of thunder, closer this time, shook the building, interrupting Fai's sentence.

Hori jumped slightly .. " ... ok then... But please .. let me go back to the shrine for a little while ... " ... She was incredibly worried about the shrine ..." I want to make sure everything is ok there ... "

If it hadn't been storming outside, Ari would have protested staying in the Cat's Eye. However... Staying in Little Doggie's room was another thing entirely.
She had been about to say something about this, but then Big Doggie came by and said that thing about finding a feather.

Ari wondered what Big Doggie meant - she ha--
And then, the lights went out.
Great.
As Big Kitty went around lighting candles and offering his room to Hori, Ari remembered what she had been going to do.
"Ah! Yes, uh, Little Doggie... You really don't have to give me your room, I could easily stay down here, really..."

"Sleep where you like," Kurogane said to the general room, indirectly answering Fai's question. "But nobody's going out in this storm tonight." He watched the wind pound the rain against the glass windows as lightning lit up the sky again.

"Yay! Slumber party!" Fai laughed, grabbing two bottles of sake and an extra blanket to take to Kurogane's room. Then seeing the ninja begin to turn towards him. "Ah, I mean we should all go to bed, ne?"

Kurogane frowned and motioned to the sake pointedly. "I didn't say you could take those. And anyway, why can't you sleep down here with the rest of the kids?"

"Ah, come on Kuro-sama," Fai smiled, a real smile this time. "I won't bother you, and one of the bottles is yours."
Before the ninja could protest, Fai walked towards the other part of the house,
towards Kurogane's room, carrying his blanket and the two bottles of sake.

" Hime-sama !" She jumped .. She was sodden ... and looking frozen ...
She jumped up and started to fumble with her cloak that she had been wearing ... She run up to her and threw the cloak around Sakura ...
" How long have you been out there ? Are you alright ?"

"Eh? Hime!" Syaoran ran to Sakura, settling her down near the fireplace.
"I thought you were asleep in your room!"

Kurogane was thrown off-guard for a moment by the smile. What... was that for? But he scooped up a candle and followed the wizard upstairs, pausing a moment to look back and see if the princess was alright. "Maybe we should be locking doors from now on, if she's gonna keep wandering like that," he commented.

Little Kitty re-entered the cafe - wasn't she inside, though? Ari hadn't seen anyone go out through the main doors (well, other than Big Kitty), but... Uh, perhaps through a window? But, why on earth would she do that?
... Hold on for a minute... What did Little Doggie say? 'Hime'?
Hime... Hime... Ari quickly tried to remember what that meant...
... Hold on... Almost got it...
Princess?
She blinked. Didn't Little Kitty work in the Cafe too?
Well, that had been her assumption, but... Uhm. She was apparently wrong.
... A princess... Of what?
Well, uh, that wasn't any of her business, so...
Ari sat back quietly as the attention was turned to Little Kitty, as she doubted she'd be much help in this situation.

Fai walked upstairs to Kurogane's room, using the constant lightning to guide him through the darkened house.
Wrapping the blanket around himself, he stood drinking from one of the bottles of sake, gazing wide eyed, out the darkened bedroom window at the storm that still raged around them.
"Do they have storms like this in your country, Kuro-sama?" He asked the other man, holding out the second bottle for him to take.

" I'll go see whether there are any spare blankets that we can use .. my cloak isnt very absorbent " ... She smiled and runs upstairs to find Fai...

Watching Hori run off, it occured to Ari that helping with that could be a good idea, as she probably didn't really know the layout of the cafe.
Of course, neither did the wannabe-Kiji-hunter, but that's why she figured two would be better than one.
... Not that the Cafe was that easy to get lost in, but it was also better than just sitting doing nothing..
"Ah, right, I'll go too!" Arientioth quickly got out of her chair and (carefully) ran off in the dark.
... Which, in retrospect, probably wasn't that smart.

Syaoran carefully wrapped a blanket around the shivering princess; lifting her up and carrying her back to her room.
Watching her fall asleep, he silently slipped downstairs.
Exactly what had happened today?
He pondered thoughtfully while preparing some soup for the others; in case they came down hungry.

Ari wandered around, looking for Big Kitty's roo-
Oh, right, he was staying with Big Doggie.
Ari wandered around, looking for Big Doggie's room, so she may in turn ask where she may find some towels or spare blankets or something, then find and take the aforementioned towels and blankets back to Little Doggie and Little Kitty, and then feel good for actually doing something.
However, she must have taken a wrong turn somewhere along the line, as, well... She couldn't see Hori, and the occasional flash of lightning... wasn't helping.

Dammit! How big was this cafe, anyway?!
... Probably not very big, as she had been spending the last five minutes standing there thinking this to herself.
... Alright, screw this.
Ari turned around and headed to back to where she hoped was the... Main-room place...

Hearing a clatter, Syaoran turned around and saw Ari, looking lost and confused. "Is something wrong?"

Ari looked up, as she succeeded in her goal of heading back to where she started. She sighed.
"Ah, nothing, I just can't see in the dark as well as I thought I could." She noted that Little Doggie was now alone.
"Uh, where's Little Kitty?"

"She's sleeping in her room."
He returned to his post, unspeaking.
Suddenly he hesistated. There was an evil presence lurking around. "Don't move."
Scanning the darkness around him, he saw a shadow glide across the wall. A kijii?

Seishirou stood silently on a Sakura tree, watching the pedals slowly drift onto the ground next to the cafe.
Syaoran...I've found you. It's been a long time
He smiled and opened his palms, releasing a large kijii into the building.
Let me see how much you've improved...

Ari went to nod, when Little Doggie apparently sensed something, and told her not to move.
... Okay, she had to admit, she was now juuuust a little creeped out.
I mean, who wouldn't be? Dark, stormy night, power-outage... Okay, so she loved both of those things, but combining them with something moving in the shadows--
Woah, woah, wait, what?
Ari's eyes widened in an attempt to see better in the dark (or so she told herself), and she looked around as best as she could without moving her head.
While she hadn't been in Outo more than a day, she had an idea as to what may be going on.
'A Kiji? But... I'm not a hunter, so I should be safe, right? Right?'
She glanced at Little Doggie, 'Well, yeah, I'm safe, but if Little Doggie's a Kiji hunter, then he isn't...'
Somehow, the thought of her just standing there doing nothing again while Little Doggie fought the things wasn't as comforting as it sounded...

Kurogane took the sake and settled himself lazily on the bed. "Ha? Yeah, sure we had storms where I come from. Never quite this much lightening, I think." He paused, watching another brilliant burst light up the room. "It was perfectly clear skies when the sun went down. Don'tcha think it's strange?"

"Hyuuu!" Fai gasped, as another bright streak filled the sky.
"I'm not sure if I'd know if it were strange or not, Kuro-sama. I've never seen such rain, only snow."
Fai watched the storm a few more minutes, his blue eyes far off and distant, as if thinking of that other world, his world.
"I'd be happy never to see snow again." He said quietly to the ninja.

Kurogane watched the mage for a long time in silence. He couldn't help wondering - what is it you're running so scared from? What he'd said in the street that day - that's the kind of person I hate most - that was true. He'd always hated cowards. Running away - he just couldn't understand that... it had never been a part of his vocabulary. But there was something else in the hollowness of the blonde's eyes..
He placed his chin in his hand and looked away. "Yeah, well, I don't like the rain. That doesn't mean anything."

Fai watched the storm, mesmerized, finding a dangerous sort of beauty in the violence of it.
After a few minutes, the blonde wizard walked across the darkened room and sat on the edge of the bed, blinking his wide, blue eyes slowly as if clearing away memories.
"Ah, but the rain, Kuro-sama, washes everything away....don't you think?"
He asked the ninja softly, as he took another long drink from the bottle of sake he held in his hands.

Hori - currently lost within the building - felt the kiji seep into the cafe ...
" Great " she mumbled to herself " I'm lost and someone is about to attack us .. "
She looked around for someway to get out side ... and heard the faint sound of what was talking ...It sounded like .. Big-kitty-sama ...
She placed her ear to a door and listened .... washes everything away ... dont you think ?
She gave a little knock on the door and waited ...

Kurogane found himself taken in by the beauty of the storm just the same, as the wizard's soft words sounded in his ears. The rain beat against the window, cleansing everything outside, drowning out everything. Somewhere in its noise he thought he heard something else - a swish of kimono... a tinkling of hair ornaments... There had been a rainy night not unlike this one on his world...
He lifted the sake bottle thoughtfully to his lips again.
"Yeah, but... some things are worth coming back to."

Syaoran stood alert, gripping tightly to 'Hien' . It was a kijii...a big one. The kijii hung on the wall, its eyes looking straight at Ari and Syaoran.
A 'Ro' level kijii??
The kijii clattered down, its pincers clicking animately. Catching onto his leg as Syaoran tried to give a kick, it flung him aside.
Syaoran gave a yelp of pain as he slammed into the kitchen counter; bottles of sake crashed down onto the floor.
((ahaha... I forgot how to do battle scenes :sweatdrop: ))

"Little Doggie!" Ari exclaimed as said Kiji hunter was tossed about.
Right, she was going to be a Kiji hunter too, now's a good enough time to start learning, right?
She didn't know how strong it was (heck, she wasn't aware of the level system for them yet), but she had a feeling that if she hit it with something big and sharp, it would go away.
... N00b.
Ari prepared to valiently charge at the dark thing, her hand going to her sword as she started to charge. With a forceful yank, she pulled the sword out of its sheath... Or would have, if said yank hadn't resulted in the sword instead not coming out of its sheath at all, but turning and getting tangled up in what had seemed like a neat costume idea at the time, but was now a major inconvenience.
The tangling of sword and wings not only hindered Ari in arming herself, the force of her attempt at drawing her sword had also caused her to lose her balance and fall forward, landing face first on the ground.
Bad position to be if Kiji are attacking.
However, she wasn't a registered Kiji hunter, so she still should be safe... However, Ari didn't know if that changed when you attempt to attack a Kiji...
She mumbled a curse and tried to roll onto her back, at this point not caring what damages would be done to her wings as she did so, and ended up with a nice view of the Kiji from below, which frankly, made it look quite a bit scarier. She gave a short exclaimation of surprise and tried to get back on her feet.

"Ari-san!" His eyes widened as he saw the kijii approach her, its pincers ready to kill...
No, he could not let her get killed.
Ignoring the stabbing pains piercing into his lungs, Syaoran drew 'Hien' from it's sheath; slashing the kijii with his might before it could attack Ari.
Even though I'm not ready...
He watched the kijii shudder and disappear slowly, panting. Then seeing how Ari was not hurt, he sighed in relief and collapsed onto a chair. "hyuu..."

Ari was silent for a moment after the Kiji had dissappeared, before she slowy stood up, which was easier when she wasn't paniking.
Deeply embarassed by how useless she was, she turned to Little Doggie. Man, that guy just saved her life! What do you say to something like that?
"... L... Little Doggie? I'm... Sorry for getting in the way there..." ... And something told her that wasn't it.
Sighing, she sat down in a chair too.

" No, you weren't in the way. Kijiis usually come here from time to time.....ouch. " As he got up in his chair, he felt his ribs shift painfully.
Syaoran nodded at Ari and smiled. "you'll be needing some sleep. You'll be sleeping in my room, right?" He pointed at a room upstairs. "It's just down the hallway."

Ari blinked at Little Doggie's words, and then shook her head.
"No, I'm not going to take your room. Not after all the trouble I caused here."
She bit her lip and looked around a bit nervously, before standing up.
"Ah... Little Doggie, are you okay? That... Throw into the counter looked like it hurt..."

The wizard's wide gaze shifted slowly to look Kurogane in the eyes, "And some things are worth nothing, ne?" He asked quietly, before rising to answer the soft knock outside the door.
Pulling the door open, he greeted the young girl that stood before him, "Hori-chan! Is everything alright?" He asked, smiling at the girl.

"I'm all right.." replied Syaoran, lying through his clenched teeth. "Then...I'll be in my room, if you need anything."
Nodding a good-night, he slowly shuffled up the stairs, closing the door behind him.

" errmm ... " She said ... " There was .. but ... its gone ... " she said looking at the floor ... " Something happened downstairs conserning Kiji .. but I was sort of lost ....So I couldnt get back down again ... ano ... " She bowed " I'm sorry to have disturbed you ... " She blushed with embarrasment ... still looking at the floor ...

Ari nodded at Little Doggie as he left for bed.
"G'night... ... Thank-you..." She said, barely over a whisper. Inwardly, she felt stupid for lacking confidence and generally being clumsy, wondering how she could consider being a Kiji hunter, and, well, how to make it up to Little Doggie and his friends.
She shook her head.
"Eh, let's not waste time wallowing in self-pity, Ari." She thought aloud, before blowing out the last of the candles and wandering over to the couch.
... Ah, screw what she had told herself, she was still going to think about how to repay the others.
... Cleaning up the mess of the Kiji-fight would probably be a good start.
... After some sleep, of course.

"Trouble, Kuro-sama!" Fai called back to the ninja, as he took the girl's hand and quickly led her through the house and to the main room where Ari was.
Glass was littered everywhere and the place smelled of sake.
Fai felt suddenly shocked that even the noise of the storm could have masked whatever had went on down here. Perhaps he had been so mesmerized by his memories and the lightning, that he hadn't even sensed danger?
Or perhaps someone.....
"Syaoran-kun!" Fai called, going directly to the boy's door. "Syaoran-kun, are you alright?"

Hori was dragged to Syoaran's door by Fai ... But was unsure to say anything ... She waited for Syaorans reply ...

Ari, who had been lying on the couch thinking, sat up as someone came running into the room.
"Eh?" Was all she could say as the person left as soon as they had came.
"Ah... Big Kitty?" She made a random guess. Ari remained in a seated position in case something else happened...

Seishirou watched silently outside, smliing softly as he watched his kijii dissipate into the air.
Your fighting skills are getting better, Syaoran-kun. But your reflexes are still too slow.
And with that thought, he slipped back into the darkness of the night.

Syaoran-kun! Syaoran-kun, are you alright??
Gasping as he heard Fai calling him, Syaoran quickly hid the bandages in a drawer. He opened the door cautiously, as if another kijii might jump out and attack. .
"Ah, Fai-san...Hori-san..why are you both still up?"

"Syaoran-kun, you're hurt," Fai said, concern on his face.
"Hiding your injury or pain won't do anything to help us find Sakura-chan's
lost memories."

"No really, I'm fine..." replied Syaoran, smiling weakly.
"You both.....should go back to sleep."

Ari frowned as she waited for something to happen.
Eventually, she decided 'screw sleep', and decided to make herself useful by cleaning up the mess around the bar.
... But first, she'd have to find the brooms. And dustpan.
... And a light. Cleaning in the dark wasn't that fun...
Ari sighed annoyedly at herself.

Kurogane surveyed the room and the mess it had become for any more signs of danger, but finding none, following Fai to Syaoran's room. He was rather disturbed that he hadn't heard the commotion going on down here. He frowned at the boy's claims that he was alright, but let Fai do the convincing for the moment.

"Syaoran-kun, if you are hurt and don't tend to it, it'll only get worse and you will be of no help to anyone that way," Fai tried to convince the boy. "Injury is not a weakness, let us help you, ne?"
Then looking back at the ninja and smiling, "I'm sure Kuro-chan has had all sorts of injuries throughout his line of work. He'll know what to do."

Syaoran looked down at the floor, feeling heat rise up to his cheeks. "A-arigato..."
Hesitating, he lifted up his shirt; revealing a large dark bruise on his ribcage. Ouch..

"Er... what?" Kurogane started, taken aback that he was the one that had to play doctor. He frowned at the ugly bruise on the boy's midsection and finally sighed. "Alright, come on, kid." He took Syaoran by the shoulder, leading him toward the kitchen where they could find some ice. "You gotta keep that from swelling. And don't tell me you broke any ribs?"

"Ano..." he wasn't sure what to say. Had he broken any ribs?
Placing an ice pack on his chest, he winced. "maybe one or two...."
He sighed, frowning in frustration. How could he fight kijiis with Kurogane-san now?

Kurogane pressed a few fingers into Syaoran's ribcage, getting an expected gasp of pain from the boy. "At least one," he stated. He tossed a roll of bandages that he'd dug out of the cupboards. "Wrap it tight with that."
He sat back on the barstool sullenly. Normally he would probably scold the kid for being so careless, but he was still upset with himself for missing the fight.

Fai sat quietly, watching Kurogane tend to Syaoran's ribs.
Glancing around and finding a couple of the bottles of sake that hadn't yet broken, he poured a small glass of the liquid and gave it to Syaoran.
"This will help the pain," He told him, then looked to Kurogane to see if he would protest.
"Syaoran-kun, that must have been one powerful kiji to do this to you..." Fai pondered, looking at Syaoran. "And we didn't sense it from upstairs.."

Kurogane gave no reaction to the sake, allowing Fai to offer the glass. The kid was probably going to need a few more glasses before the night was over.
"Kijis aren't even supposed to be attacking in this area. Doesn't make any sense."

"It's strange..It was a 'Ro' level kijii..." muttered Syaoran, as he wrapped his injury with the bandanges. "I'm just glad Ari-san wasn't hurt."
He took the Fai's offer with a thanks. Giving a sip, he choked and spitted it back out instantly. Coughing, he looked at Fai in surprise "S-sake??"

Hori stood stationary to the spot ...in deep thought . She had been realised from Fai just a minute ago and was now staring outside...' kiji arent even meant to be attacking in this area... ' she heard Kurogane say ...
She thought and thought .. It might be worth checking out the shrine ... maybe ..
She strode to the door ... picking up her cloak that Sakura-hime had left on the floor ... " I'll be back in an hour ' She said ... shutting the door and disappearing into the darkness...

Seishirou stood in front of the shrine's entrace, as if he was waiting for someone...
Hearing footsteps approaching, he looked up and saw Hori running up to him. He smiled warmly.
"Konbanwa, Hori-chan."

" Sei-chan !" She said ... not returning the smile and stopping " Tell me truthfully ... Was you just out side the cafe with the... kitty painted upon the door ?" She asked ... She couldnt remember the name of it...
Her face wore a look of worry and determination ...

"Cat's Eye? Oh come now..." he chuckled softly. "I was only having a little fun with a dear pupil of mine."
He placed his hand on her shoulder. "Did I do something wrong?"

" What do you think ?... a broken rib !" She placed her hand ontop of his- looking up at him... "Couldnt you have done it at a more appropriate time than in the middle of the night ?" She asked kindly ....but her eyes implored him .

"A broken rib? Ah, I didn't intend to hurt him that bad..." said Seishirou, "and I'm afraid I would cause too much commotion if it was during the day."
He looked into her bright, scarlet eyes and smiled. "I won't do it again....I promise. At least, not until the time comes."

She smiled and hugged him " Thank you Sei-chan " She said ... " Any ways... apart from tearing up Cat's Eye- what else have you been doing ?" she asked

Seishirou returned the hug. "I've been playing with the other kijii hunters" He laughed in amusement. "There hasn't been a single decent kijii hunter these days.."

She gave a slightly defeted laugh but smiled. " If you carry on like that there are going to turn into ' Seishirou hunters ' "

Seishirou's eye's widened in surprise. "Hunting me? Haha..not a chance. "
He smiled mysteriously. "Well...many have tried to battle me, yet they were instantly defeated by my dear kijii"
A shadow appeared on his shoulder, slowly forming a birdlike creature with one eye. It squawked playfully as Seishirou touched its beak.

Hori eyed it carefully .. They scared her a slight tad .. but she was never about to admit that to Seishirou ...
" yes... the kiji .." She kept her gave firmly upon it ... " But still.. I dont want you to get hurt ... "

"I won't get hurt...you don't have to worry about me. " Seishirou replied, playing with the kijii; then looking down at Hori, he muttered softly.
"Being blind in one eye won't slow me down from finding them."

She nodded in reconition ... She had known he was blind in one eye for a while ...
" I'm proud of you !" she said randomly ... her face lit up like a lanturn when she said it.

Seishirou's eyes widened as he fell silent, taken aback by her words. He held Hori close to him. "I'm....glad."

" You've been through a lot ... And still carried on... " Her eyes softened " I'm proud of you .. and I want you to know that ..."

Fai watched the boy sip the sake, and then cough it back up again, with a small smile, "You should drink it, Syaoran. It'll help. Then I think we should all try and get some rest."
Fai walked over to the cafe door, the storm was beginning to let up.
He opened the door, walking out into the night, into the light rain, and then looked harder, sensing movement.
someone....something....was here......
He didn't need his magic to recognize evil when he felt it.
he sensed the aura of powerful magic.....it was everywhere....
From far off, Fai heard the soft call of a bird.
and then felt the presence of power......sorcerer's magic....
Fai walked out of the night, back into the cafe, his face serious.
He'd known very few men that held power like he'd felt outside in the rain...
and it worried him.....

" anyways... If you please... Come back to Cat's eye with me !" She said " Its a lot warmer than the shrine ... !"

"No...I better not." replied Seishirou. "I'm not considered as a 'normal guest' by many. " His eyes softened when he saw the disappointed look on Hori's face. "But don't worry..I will visit the place...when time comes."
And with that said, he touched Hori sofly on the cheek and turned to leave; humming softly to himself and disappearing into the darkness of the night.

Syaoran shuddered, then forced the sake down his throat. It had a rather sweet taste, though not the sweet he had expected.
After a few moments, Syaoran was red in the face; hiccupping and chuckling, as if drunk.
"Haha, Kuro-pon *hic* ...Fai-san always gets on your nerves, ne?" He slapped Kurogane on the back, laughing.

Fai looked down at the boy and unsuccessfully stifled his giggles.
"Aww, deep down inside, Kuro-chan enjoys it, don't you....Big Doggie?"
Fai picked up the sake bottle that sat next to Syaoran, "Looks like Big Kitty will need to drink the rest of this, you've had enough, ne?" Fai grinned, lifting the bottle to his mouth and drinking the rest before Kurogane could grab it away.

"Don't you start with those names, too!! Damn... this was a bad idea," Kurogane growled. "And you've had enough, too!" he glared pointedly at Fai.
He turned away with an annoyed sigh, already knowing his protesting wasn't going to get him far with this group. "Hey... what happened to that other kid?" he asked, suddenly noticing Hori's absence.

"Hmmm, guess she decided to go once the rain let up a bit," Fai said thoughtfully. "Hope she's okay...it's not safe out there, right now....that is."
Or perhaps we misjudged our young guest?

She watched Seishirou dissapeare... and gave a small sigh ..
" Well , It would be rude not to keep my promise to Big kitty- sama ... and not pop my head back in to say that I was alright .. they must be worried ... "
She started back towards the cafe ...

" *hic* haha...Hori-chi's gone." piped Syaoran, giggling.
"Wait, no..*hic* there she is." He pointed at a figure approaching the cafe. "Ohayo, Hori-chi!"

She entered the cafe again - hearing What Syaoran said .
" Little doggy -sama !" She said suprised ... " You've had sake havent you ?" She half smiled... " You're tipsy " She didnt take her coat off but stepped towards him with a questioning look in her eye ...

" *hic* yea...Fai-chi poured me some sake...*hic* " Syaoran stumbled from his chair; walking unsteadily towards Hori. "Where've you been?"

" To the shrine ... " she said - going forwards to support The tipsy Syaoran " Please stay sat down ... You'll hurt yourself ... "
She helped him to a chair ... " Hows you're wound ... I hope Sei-chan didnt hurt you too much "

"No, no, I'm all right *hic* " he sat down on the chair, then reached over to a glass of sake and handed it to Hori.
"Here ya go...*hic* you must be tired, ne?"

She looked at the glass... One glass couldnt hurt could it ? " Arigatou ... " she said " I'm not really tired ... I'm used to staying up at all houres to look after the shrine ..."
She - with a little dab of tentativeness - took a swig of the sake .... She felt slightly woosy and elaited after consuming an eigth of the glass ...
Hori really couldnt handly her drink ...

Syaoran watched as Hori gradually become redder in the face.
" Haha...*hic* Hori-chi's getting drunk too! "

She stumbled slightly ... " okay ... " she smiled " Shush up Sya-chi ! You got drunk first !" Hori started laughing , Placing the glass down upon the counter ...
" honestly ... " she said ... stubling into Syaoran laughing !

Syaoran crashed into the ground as Hori stumbled into him
" *hic* Ouch. Haha.."

Hori laughed as the fell to the floor ... " gomen Sya-chi " she looked at him ... " You know ... you have very pretty brown eyes ... "She said in a sort of dazed way

"Oooh, Fai and Kuro-myu want to play too, nya!" Laughed Fai, searching behind the counter for another bottle of sake to open.
Finding two more that he had hidden from the ninja earlier in the night, Fai tossed one towards Kurogane and broke open the other and began to drink from the bottle. "Nyaa! How's everyone feeling? You're doing okay, Syaoran-kun?"
Then watching Hori-chan fall on the floor, Fai reached out to help her up.
"You okay, Hori-chan, nyaa!"

" Ne? You're eyes are pretty too..*hic* they're scarlet, ne?" Syaoran gazed back, looking into her bright eyes.

She smiled " yes they are scarlet!" she smiled ..
She was helped up be Fai " Yes I'm fine fine !" She said smiling uo at the wizard!

Fai giggled, then looked at the girl, "Nyaa, you didn't run into any trouble out there, earlier?" He asked, taking another drink.

" no no .. Just Sei-chan " she laughed

"Sei-chan? *hic* "
Somehow, the name sounded strangely familar to Syaoran.Shaking his head, he laughed. "no...*hic*. He couldn't be in this world.." he muttered to himself

"Sei-chan, ne?" Fai looked at the girl curiously. "And who would Sei-chan be?"

"You know this, Sei-chan?" Fai asked Syaoran, noticing the puzzled expression that crossed his face.

" Oh .. Sei-chan is here .. I spoke to him .. when I ran off before ... " She hucupped loudly and then began to laugh.. " Sei-chan ... His full name is Seishoorou or something like that .." she said ... Taking a another mouthful of sake ..

Syaoran nodded to Fai's question. " I know a sei-chan...he taught me how to fight *hic* "
He grabbed a bottle of sake, laughing.

" oh .. thats what he ment by pupil !" She said after a long gulp of the sake ..

Fai looked hard at Hori for a moment, and then turned to Kurogane, who had been silent, watching, throughout the conversation, giving him a questioning look.
"And what kind of man is this one who taught you to fight, Syaoran-kun?" Fai then asked the boy, studying his reaction carefully.

His full name is Seishoorou or something like that .
Syaoran spat his sake out, coughing. "Sei-Seishirou-san??"
HIs eyes widened. Despite his drunkness, memories of Seishirou appeared in his mind.
"What is he doing here?...*hic* "
And what kind of man is this one who taught you to fight, Syaoran-kun??
"he's.....really strong, Seishirou-san. I met him when I was traveling with Father."

Fai felt a chill.
The powerful magic I felt earlier........
"And does this, Seishirou, know magic?" He asked Hori. "And just why would he send the kiji to hurt Syaoran, ne?"
Fai wasn't absolutely positive that was the case, but he felt he was close enough on the mark to trip up the girl if she was hiding something.

" Hai Seishirou-chan " She said to Syaoran... She hicoughed again ...
" yes - Sei-chan knows magic ... " she said ... " And I made sure that Sei-chan was sorry ... " she said " I told him that he should have at least waited untill it was the middle of the day when you were more alert .. and he sends his regret on your broken rib " She smiled at syaoran

Kurogane had been listening carefully through the conversation. He returned Fai's glance - he'd noticed the wizard's strange expression when he had come back in the cafe earlier.
"Are you saying this Seishirou guy is the same guy you knew on your world?" Well, they'd met people like that before, like the witch had said.... but the girl had said "pupil"... something seemed stranger.

Fai didn't want to say more in front of the girl, knowing now that they were all in danger by her presence in Cat's Eye if she had ties to this, Seishirou.
He stood and looked to Syaoran.
"I think it's time we all get some sleep."
Then taking the bottle of sake and walking to the entrance to the hall, he looked once again at Kurogane, sending the silent message....we need to talk.
"Get some rest, Syaoran-kun." Fai told him.

" yup yup ... " She said " ohhh Fai-chi ! " she called in realiseation " I'm going back to the shrine ... It seems alright for me to be there now ..." She said " so .. thank you very much .. for your hospitality .. I hope that one day I can return the favour " She smiled - seemingly sane again ...
She made her way to the door ..bowed and went out.. closing the door ...

"Yes...I will. Ano..Oyasumi nasai." Still hiccupping slightly, he bowed to Hori and walked slowly to his room.
Seishirou-san....is he the same Seishirou as the one I met?
Laying down on his bed, he winced as his rib jerked painfully. He stared up at the dark ceiling.

Fai was actually glad to see the girl go, this time.
If she had any ties at all to a wizard as strong as this, Seishirou, and if
it was in fact the same Seishirou from Syaoran's world, her presence was
putting them in danger.
And Fai worried for the girl, herself.
Being as innocent as she seemed, she was bound to get into trouble with the man sooner or later, and perhaps her fate was sealed already......
Fai walked slowly through the house towards Kurogane's room, worried expression on his face, knowing that if Seishirou showed up, he would be nearly powerless against him without his magic.

Hori ran off into the darkness... seeing if she could seek out Sei-chan ...
As soon as she left the cats eye .. she had started to feel lonley .. more than she ever had before ..

Kurogane threw himself on the bed again, tossing the extra bottle of sake aside. He frowned at the serious expression on the mage's face.
"You think that guy was behind the kiji attacks?" he finally voiced what he felt they were both thinking.

"I'm almost positive, Kuro-sama," Fai said to the ninja. "And if he is the same one from Syaoran's world, then he holds great power, power to travel worlds, and power that we have no way of countering, without magic..."

Kurogane's eyes narrowed slightly at the mage, recalling the witch's words from the Koryo country.
"No magic, huh?" he said pointedly. "So our plan is just to sit here and let this guy kill us?"

"I'm not sure that he intends to actually kill us, but if he were to attempt that, I'm doubtful we have the power to stop him," Fai stated simply, shrugging.

"Well," Kurogane snorted, "If he does try, he's gonna get a hell of a fight from me, magic or not."
He stood and strode toward the door, his words curt. "I'm gonna keep guard downstairs." And with that, he disappeared from the room.

Fai frowned slightly, as the ninja walked out from the room.
Once again wrapping the blanket around himself, he walked to the window and looked out. The sun would be rising soon, and with the new day came a new danger, a new threat.....in the form of a sorcerer only another man of magic could imagine the power of.
I am useless against that.........
Without my magic...
I guess we'll just have to be sure that it doesn't come to that, won't we?
Fai sat down on the floor, underneath the window. Resting his head back against the wall, he closed his eyes and fell into a light, guarded sleep.

Kurogane had just settled himself into a chair near the door where he had a good view of the window, when he heard footsteps on the stairs. He turned around to see the princess. "Hey... shouldn't you be in bed?"

Seishirou strolled through the empty streets, humming softly while the bird-like kijii cawed playfully on his shoulder.
Hearing footsteps, he turned and saw Hori, panting and out of breath.
He smiled."Back so soon, Hori-chan?"

She laughed ... " Yer.. Guess soo ... " she said .. slightly tipsyly ... " I spoke to Syaoran-chi ... " she said " he seemed slightly fearful of you ... along with Fai-chii "

Seishirou fell silent, then chuckled. "Haha, fearful of me?" The kijii on his shoulder squawked loudly.
He held Hori up close to him. "You've been drinking..."

" Only a little.. It was a..... third of a glass.. If I remember correctly ... " she said with a smile ...

"third glass? You know you're not able to handle those.." siad Seishirou, a worried look appeared on his face, but for a split second he quickly hid it.

She smiled ... " It was only a little... " She said ... " I'm alright ... just a little hyper !" She hicoughed and then laughed again ...

"Hori..." Seishirou embraced her holding her tightly. He looked straight into her bright scarlet eyes. "You know that I...."

He pulled her closer, till he could feel her soft breathing on his face. He smiled, and kissed her upon the lips.

She deepened the kiss by placing her arms around his neak .. Even though she was tipsy .. She indeed felt love towards him ...

Moments later, Seishirou opened his eyes, letting go.
"You shouldn't stay with me, Hori...it's too dangerous."

... she looked up at him ... with slightly pleading eyes
" No .. I want to ... I want to stay with you ... I love you Seishirou ... " She said softly ... " I couldnt leave you and anyways .. I'm used to danger ... I'm protector of the shrine ..remember .. . I'm in danger all the time there!" she protested

Seishirou stared into her eyes; his expression softening.
He smiled. "Very well...then we shall go now."

Kurogane's eyes narrowed slightly in concern as he watched the princess turn and walk away again. Sure, she had only gotten a few of her feathers back, so she wasn't exactly with it all the time, but she seemed to be acting stranger than normal.
He leaned back, watching the sun begin to rise over the buildings of Outo country. He wondered if today would bring more battles. An enemy with incredible magic power.
I've decided I'm not going to use magic.
He'd gotten angry when the wizard hadn't given him a straight answer last night, at least not the answer he'd wanted. He didn't think the blonde was that stupid, but he was just avoiding the question. Maybe he'd gone a little overboard in storming out of the room, but he wasn't about to give any apologies now. And if this so-called enemy was as powerful as he had said...
He just didn't understand that guy. At all.

Fai woke as the sunlight began streaming in from the window above him.
He opened his eyes half-way, his head pounding a bit from all the sake he'd drank, and remembered the words of the ninja who had been angry with him only hours earlier...........
No magic, huh?.............So our plan is just to sit here and let this guy kill us?
Well, If he does try, he's gonna get a hell of a fight from me, magic or not.
Why did he always manage to provoke anger from the man.....no matter what he said..........
Fai sat on the floor, thinking about all of it, and decided he wasn't ready to face the day, and whatever could possibly happen, just yet.
Crawling into Kurogane's empty bed, he pulled the covers up over his head, closed his eyes and went back to sleep.

Seishirou strolled through Outo; closely followed by Hori. Looking back at the girl, he smiled.
"We shall pay a little visit to your new friends."
He stepped into Cat's Eye; looking around and spotting the ninja..who was apparently glaring back at him.
He smiled back; feeling amused. "Hello. You must be one of who Hori met yesterday".

She smiled at Seishirou and sought to find his hand as he stepped into the cafe ...
" and make sure you apologise to Syaoran !" she said ..
She looked around Seishirou and saw Kurogane .. " Ohayo Kurogane-sama ... "

Kurogane stood straight up, gripping Souhi in his right hand. He met the stranger's smile with a glare. Since the girl was with him, he had a good guess who this man was. Fai's warnings about magic fled to the back of his head as a prospect for a new battle presented itself. A small smirk of anticipation crossed the ninja's lips.
"Seiishirou, I presume."

Deep within the blankets of Kurogane's bed, Fai's blue eyes suddenly opened, headache and fatigue forgotten, he slowly got up and went to the doorway.
The power I felt outside, last night.....
It's him.......

Fai listened closely for sounds of trouble coming from downstairs, and heard the ninja speak the man's name.......Seishirou...
He was indicisive about going down to the cafe area, as the sorcerer would recognize Fai immediately as another man of magic and that could be rather problematic. But this Seishirou, perhaps sensed him already, before even stepping into the cafe, felt the wizard's presence.
But doesn't know I can't...........won't use my magic.....
Fai knew there was no sense in staying in the bedroom, he put on a nonaffected smile and headed downstairs to see why the man had come.....

Syaoran was laying on his bed...immeresed in his thoughts. Hearing the door outside open and shut, he opened his eyes.
He heard Kurogane's greeting. Seishirou, I presume...
"Seishirou-san??"
Jumping out of his bed, he rushed downstairs. Seishirou-san...
It was him. The same face, the same hair, his blind eye...
He stood in shock, his eyes widening.

Hori gave Seisjirou a little nudge in the ribs ... " Syaoran-kun !" She said " good morning !"

Seiishirou, I presume
"Indeed it is." He cast a smile. "Pleased to meet your acquaintance."
He turned his head, spotting Fai. I thought I felt an aura...so it's you..
"Ah, Syaoran-kun.." he said, looking around. "I do hope you're all right?"

Fai stood in the entrance to the room, leaning against the doorway.
He wore a small smile, but his eyes were narrowed and suspicious, knowing that no good could come of this man being here......this sorcerer....so much like another he remembered.
Someone who only loved to hurt......who thrived on it......
And what could he want with Syaoran....now..
Fai watched carefully, silently, feeling an anger well up inside of him for a man he didn't even know, but reminded him so much of another......

Syaoran stepped back. "Seishirou-san...what are you doing here?"
He's the same... but, how can this be?
He stared at Seishirou. "You're the one...who sent the kijii last night?"

Hori Looked up at Seishirou... waiting for his reply

Seishirou cast a mysterious smile. "Yes, that was me... "
He looked around the cafe; then returned his gaze at the others. "What have I come here for?"
Kijiis appeared beside him, grinning evily.
"I've come....to destroy the kijii hunters...after all, that is my job."
He chuckled, ignoring Hori's surprised glance.

Before the dark sorcerer had even began to laugh, eight wicked sharp darts flew from Fai's trained hands, whirling just inches past the others, and striking their targets flawlessly.
But the wizard's expression turned dark, eyes clouding with worry, as the kiji only absorbed the small daggers and turned to face them once again, and Seishirou met his eyes and grinned, so very much like the other he remembered.........

" Sei-chan !" Hori yelled - stepping in front of him after the daggers ... " What do you think You're playing at !"
Hori's eyes showed anger and sadness along with a painful twang of betrayal and misunderstanding ....
" Dont kid me Seishirou !"

Kurogane moved on Fai's cue. As soon as his darts had struck their targets, the ninja had drawn his sword and was slicing at the nearest kiji. He cut through one, then another, but each time another kiji stepped in to take its place, keeping the distance between him and Seishirou. He slashed at another kiji with frustration. If that kid would just get out of his way, he might have a better aim at the dark sorcerer...

As Kurogane sliced at the kiji in frustration, Fai saw something glimmer in the air around the demons......spots of light that flashed and twirled appeared and suddenly shot out from the kiji..........straight back at Fai.......
The darts................
Fai had only a split second to jump out of the way as the razor edged darts flew back at him......
Six flew past.....missing their mark........the seventh lightly scraping his cheek as it flew by..............and he gasped as the eighth dart hit...... shooting painfully through the center of his slender hand, pinning it to the wall..........
Without taking his eyes off Seishirou, Fai reached out, pulled hard on the dart......freeing his injured hand, and wrapped his shirt around it, as the blood began to pour from the wound.

Syaoran jumped forward, dodging and kicking the Kijiis out of the way. Sakura was safe in her room, but the rest were in grave danger.
He winced momentarily; gripping tightly to a chair and clutching his chest. Hearing Fai's gasp, he whipped his head around, seeing a dart penetrate through his hand. "Fai-san!"
A kijii lashed to his right, catching him off guard. Blood trickled down his face as he saw stars before him.
Dazed, he looked back at Seishirou; his eyes filled with confusion and anger.

Kurogane raised his sword for another stroke, just when he heard Syaoran's voice call out behind him. Fai-san!
His head snapped toward the back of the room, an unexplainable feeling of dread suddenly punching his chest. But instead of lying limp on the floor like he'd almost expected, he saw the blonde wizard tending to an injured hand. Before he had time to ponder why this caused him such an usually great relief, Kurogane's breath was knocked from him struck him hard in the back, sending him rolling to the floor. He roared out in pain as huge claws dug red streaks into his arm and back. Ignoring the pain, he was on his feet again, red eyes glaring fire at Seishirou. "If your job is to kill us... I wanna know who the hell sent you!!"

Ari, having only gotten about an hour of sleep, was up rather early that morning, and spent most of that time preparing herself for her plan to repay Little Doggie and Big Kitty. She had even thought about what she was going to say beforehand and commited it to memory, so she'd be at least mildly coherent when she talked to them.
And it was because of her running lines through her head that she wasn't aware of the current... 'Situation' of the group until she entered the room.
"Okay... Bi-- HOLY HELEN OF TROY!" Ari exclaimed upon seeing the Kiji fight taking place.
Her hand went to her back to get her sword, or at least, that's what one would presume, as she ended up grabbing nothing but air. It took a few moments to click that she was not in fact, wearing her sword or her vest with the wings, as she had taken them both off so she could sleep better/not damage them by sleeping on them.
Surely if she had known there would have been a Kiji attack, she would have remembered to put those both on, however, as this was not the case, Ari ended up half-stumbling as she stopped her entry into the room, groped empty air until she remembered her lack of sword, stuttered something along the lines of "Oh! Gimmie a moment...", and immediately turned tain and ran out of the room to get her stuff.

" Seishirou ! " She yelled " Stop this now !" Her eyes pleaded him...
She hearded the cutting of flesh and turned to see Fai " Fai-san !" ... And she knew...
She gritted her teeth and raised her palm - blasting away one of the Kijis ... and then looked back up to him...
" If thats the way you want to play ... Two can play at that game "

Seishirou smiled. "He wishes to remain anonymous."
He cast an amused look at Fai, then looked into Syaoran's wide brown eyes. "you've gotten much stronger.."
A small sad expression formed on his face as he listened to Hori's shocked angry words. "Hori.."
There's nothing I can do...it's my job.
He watched his kijiis...grinning.

Fai watched helplessly, as the kiji attacked Kurogane, tearing long, angry looking tracks through his shirt and skin.
The wizard knew they were in trouble and desperately looked for some way........
but his hand was in agony, distracting him.....and all the blood.....
Blood...
Blood magic......
Fai knew much about blood magic.
Never using it himself, but seeing it used by another......
True, he couldn't use his magic, but perhaps his blood could still be of some use..........
With his good hand, the wizard pulled four darts from his pocket and let the blood from his wound drip onto the knife sharp tips..............then once again, threw them out at the kiji...........
He hit three, the fourth dart missing, as he wasn't as accurate with his left hand, and was still distracted by his pain. Upon hitting the kiji, they exploded in a flash of bright light, leaving the darts to fall to the ground below.
The wizard smiled and reached once again for his weapons........

Hori Started blasting Kiji every which way ... Mainly to protect Fai - but she saw he was retreiving some defence and offence ... She had to get Seishirou out of there and out onto the street - Maybe the Kiji would follow ....
She thrust herself at Seishirou- Knocking them both outside... Some Kiji Followed... She swore loudly and procceeded to fire up her blasts again ... She looked down at Seishirou ...
" Stop this or I'll Kill you " She said .. her eyes brimming with tears ...

Syaoran leapt away from the kijiis; still off-balance from the blow in the head. He watched wide-eyed as the kijii tore his claws into the ninja. "Kurogane-san!"
Scrambling to help, a large claw brought him down; pinning him to the floor. "urgh.." The boy clenched his teeth in pain as the claws dug deeply into his chest. Turning his head towards Seishirou and Hori, his eyes softened as he saw tears welling up in Hori's eyes. Hori-san...

Seishirou looked into the girl's scarlet eyes, unmoving. He smiled sadly, "If you must...." He watched his kijiis silently; the ninja and the mage destroying them one by one.
He nodded at the kijii pinning Syaoran. Understanding, the kijii pressed down harder; audible cracks were heard as the boy the yelled in pain and coughed blood.

Without hesitation...Fai ripped the shirt from his injured hand, and let the blood flow freely onto the remaining darts, while watching the large kiji push Syaoran to the ground. Throwing the darts with an angry cry, he managed to hit the demon, sending it too, exploding in a flash of bright light.............
Then beginning to feel rather faint, and out of weapons, Fai leaned back against the wall, sliding down to the floor, and hoped for the attacks to end.....

Ari finally charged back into the room, sword in hand, and yelling what was probably supposed to be some sort of battle cry.
She swung her sword, actually hitting a few of the lower-leveled Kiji and destroying them, much to her surprise.
She didn't have long to be surprised, though, as she quickly had to defend herself from another, stronger Kiji, barely managing to bring her sword up in time to block its incoming strike.
She growled quietly as she struggled with it, before she got an idea.
Ari dropped straight down, her sudden move causing the Kiji to pitch forward slightly at the lack of resistance (or so she guessed - she couldn't really tell, but that wasn't important for her plan) before she thrust her sword upwards. She could tell she had hit something (well, she was right under the Kiji, it would only make sense), but she wasn't aware as to whether or not she actually had ended up 'killing' it.
Well, that didn't really matter, what did was that she now had an opening she could use to get through to where her new friends were in the battle.
However, she quickly skidded to a stop once she saw that there were quite a few more Kiji around her than she had first noticed.
She paused to take in the scene.
"... You gotta be kidding me." Ari muttered under her breath, before readying her sword.

Her eyes poured tears for sadness and Her face screwed up in pain as she faced the biggest Dilema of her life... Seeing Fai in the weak state he was in and it was only Made worse as She painfully heared the Cracks heard from Syaoran .... Its was now or never ...
" I'm soo sorry ... " she said ...taking a dagger from its place in her pouch ..." I do this ... to protect .. My friends .. .. They need to go on to do more important things that fight this battle .. And I cant let them Die .. It is crucial that they go on ... for someones importance ..." She gave a little sob...
" I... I lo.... I love you ... " she whispered weakly .. AS she lower the knife in her shaking hand ... Bringing it across his thoat - the blade cutting deep ...

Syaoran lay shaking on the ground, immobilized by the pain of his broken ribs. Trying to get up, he instantly collapsed back down; spluttering masses of blood.
Hori-san!Gasping, he watched in horror as he watched her bring the knife down Seishirou's throat. A lump swelled in his throat as he saw the man break down onto the blood-stained floor..his vision blurred with tears.
Seishirou-san!!

Hori watched the blood seep onto the floor ... and onto her now blood stained dress and Hands ... She sat in shock - then slowly lent down ... Planting a sweet kiss on his now cold and bloody lips ... She pulled away and slowly closed his eyes with her shaking hand ... At least he went quickly ...
Her eyes dulled and lost their once spirited shine .. now blurred by the crystal tears of Pain and regret ... She hated herself .. but had to do it ... She hated the very hands that had poisened their love - She hated the monster that had forced him to place his job before his life and others..
She suddenly came to an electric shock of a realiseation ... She was no better that that monster ... SHE was the one who forced him to choose - right then ... A muinet ago ...
" F..for..give.. me ... Seishirou... Forgive me please... " She whispered to his dead body ...
She slowly rose to her feet ... Throwing aside the knife that had cut of the vital air supply that had lead to his death ... It flew true ... Straight into the heart of one of the Kiji ..
She ripped off her cloak .. and gently placed over Seishirou's pieceful corpse ... It soaked up most of the blood around... ...
Her right hand twitched as she stood up again ... slowly closing into a fist ... and as sure a day ... A gleaming sword of shining light formed with in her bloody hand...
The Kiji did not attack her ... She knew they were still on Seishirou's orders ... They wouldnt hurt her ...
" SHIIINEEEEEEEEE !!!" She yelled .. turning around with great speed .. decapitating all of the Kiji around her ... Tears blurred her vision as she spilt more and more blood ...
Slowly .. her heart became as cold as ice to the murder she caused ... She turned a blind eye to the fact that most of the creatures were already injured ... She turned a cold shoulder at the fact that she was becoming A cold blooded killing machine...The one thing she hated the most ...
She fought and fought untill nearly all the kiji had fallen at her hand ...
She couldnt go on ... She had reliesed her almost all her energy in conjouring the Reiken that so many kiji had fallen at the hand of ...
It dispersed as she slumped against the counter ... Hopefully Kurogane would be able to handle the rest ...
Her red hair dulled to what seemed like a dusky brown as she fell against it and whispered ... " For...forgive... me ..Seishirou... "
The tears fell thick and fast like that of blood... dripping out of the open wound that she had caused to Seishirou and to her own frail form that now A shattered heart and a broken spirit possesed...
Im .. a Monster ... a Murderer...

Through exhausted, slightly unfocused eyes, Fai watched as the girl, Ari, came running out of nowhere to take out a couple of the smaller kiji........
The wizard then struggled to his feet, hearing Syaoran cough and gasp dangerously for air on the floor before them.......
Before the blonde mage could get to the boy, however, the other girl - Hori, had taken the knife and sliced Seishirou's throat in one quick movement, ending the sorcerer's attack on them. His body fell slowly to the floor.........the young girl sobbing......and the wizard watched as the body lay.....shimmering......
He readied himself best he could in the event that the wizard could somehow send another attack......but the shimmering body suddenly disappeared, leaving a fluttering of pink-red petals in it's place........
A shudder went through the wizard looking upon those petals, and he moved to get Syaoran as far away from them as possible, but before he could make it to the boy, his legs gave out and he found himself sitting, against his will.........holding his still dripping hand, and staring at the bloody scene around him.....

Hori forced herself up ... " stupid body wont work how I want it to ... " she mumbled to herself... She looked over to the flower petals...She would gather them later....
She fumbled her way over to Fai ... She couldnt bear to look at Syaoran now ... She didnt look Fai in the eye .. But looked down to Fai's Hurt hand ...
She knelt down to him ... " Lets see ... " She said... brushing her hands off on her stained robe... and opening them up waiting for Fai to show her...

"No........not me......help Syaoran-kun," Fai told her, refusing to put out his hand....thinking only of the boy laying down on the hard floor.
The boy is what matters......

She nodded slightly in reconition ... " Ok .. " She slowly shifted over to Syaoran ...She didnt look at his eyes ... She couldnt look at anyone at the moment ...
" Stay still ... " She said ..opening her hands out and letting them fill with a sparkling light and pouring it upon Syaoran ... The wounds started to close and heal ... She continued to pour untill The wounds had fully closed ..
" How do you feel ?" She asked

Syaoran didn't answer. The bloody scene that had just happened moments flashed repeatedly in his head as he lay on the floor.
Seishirou-san..Seishirou-san..
Getting up, he headed outside..keeping his head low. He wouldn't let them see the tears tempting to flow down his blood-stained face.
He stepped outside, clutching his chest. It's healed..but why does it still hurt so much?

Hori watched him get up ..." Syaoran-kun ... " She said... Getting up and walking to him ... " Syaoran-kun ...Please... Understand why I did it ... I was going to kill you and Fai-san and Kurogane-san... And Sakura-hime ... if she had come down ... " The pain in her voice waverd slightly ...
" It was hard for me to do it ... So hard ... so so hard... " She whipered ...." But You Needed to live... You take priority ... You have someone who needs you to protect them... "she trailed off...

Fai watched as the girl leaned over Syaoran and began to heal the boy's wounds.
He watched, remembering.......how he had once been capable of the same magic......before.....before he had been forced.....
The wizard shook those memories from his head, as best he could, and wrapped his shirt tightly around his hand once more. The bleeding was finally slowing......but the pain....
As I deserve.........
Fai watched Syaoran slowly stand and walk out of the cafe, the girl following close behind, he then turned his eyes to Kurogane to see the ninja's reaction to all that had happened..........

He shook his head, giving a sad smile to Hori. "It's not your fault.." he said quietly. "it's true, If you hadn't done so..I could've died."
His hand still clutching his chest, he fell silent; pensive.
Looking down, he spoke. "You..loved him, didn't you?"

Kurogane slashed at the last few remaining kijis, his fighting instinct taking over even before he had the chance to process everything that had happened. When the last one dropped to the floor, he stood panting to catch his breath as the adreniline slowly drained his body. He looked around. Seishirou was gone. Syaoran was injured, being tended to by Hori. Fai was sitting against the wall, looking as exhausted as he felt, a bloody bandange wrapped around his hand. Kurogane dropped his sword, wincing a little as his wounds stung his back. He leaned against the counter looking down at Fai, not sure yet how to react so he didn't say a word, only let his eyes wander over the warzone that their cafe had become.

Fai sat, his hand....slowly..... mercifully, going numb. He reached up with his good hand to grab the counter and pull himself up, but underestimated how weak his legs actually were, and fell back down into sitting position once again.
Blood covered the wizard's clothes, and he wasn't capable of standing, but he looked up to the ninja above him and, forcing a smile, began to speak, "looks like the trouble is over, huh, Kuro-pon? Lucky no one was seriously hurt, ne?"

Kurogane's eyebrows raised a little in disbelief as he frowned down at the injured wizard who couldn't even manage to stand up. "Hey... are you sure you're alright?" He was finding it hard to believe that so much blood had come from a simple hand wound that had been bandaged right away. He'd seen the flashes of light during the battle, but had been too preoccupied with things in front of him to pay much attention to what had been going on elsewhere.

Fai wrapped the shirt tighter around his hand, not wanting to seriously look at the wound......not wanting anyone to worry about him.
Not wanting to admit that before the dart had hit the center of his hand, it had first sliced viciously down his forearm, spliting the artery that ran along his slender wrist nearly in two. But he had it under control........
"Don't worry, Kuro-sama, I'm fine........but those cuts down your back sure look painful..........." he said softly.

"It's just scratches," Kurogane brushed it aside carelessly. He reached down and picked Fai up by the collar, setting him on his feet again. "Looks like that girl's taking care of the kid. Not that I really trust her, but..." He looked around the room. "I suppose we have to clean this up now? Damn, what a pain..."

Fai could hear Kurogane, but couldn't quite focus on the words coming from his mouth, something about the scratches...the girl......Syaoran........
The ninja was pulling him up, but his legs still weren't cooperating fully, and the wizard started to go down once again. "Gomen ne.....Kuro-sama....if I could just sit a minute......" he tried to explain...

Kurogane was about to let go of the blonde man as he glanced about the room, fully expecting him to be standing on his own by now, when he realized a weight was still pulling his hand downwards. His head snapped back to the sinking wizard, and he finally lowered him back to the ground again.
"What happened to 'I'm fine'?" He glared down at Fai with concern and a look that said tell the truth this time.

Fai sighed softly as the ninja lowered him back down to the floor, demanding to know the truth.
"Kuro-sama...I..." but upon seeing the serious expression on Kurogane's face, Fai gave up and began to unwrap the shirt from his hand revealing not only the puncture wound, but an evil looking slash across his wrist, that began to gush once more, as the tight fabric was taken away.
"I had to let it bleed for a while, Kuro-sama, I had to............ for the darts to work....I'm sure it will be fine." Fai looked up at the ninja, making an attempt at a smile, to prove he was alright and didn't need anyone to worry about him.
Didn't deserve his worry............

" Its my fault .. all my fault ... " she said... " I shouldnt have Come with him at all .. I shouldnt have ... Asked him to come ... I knew both of your positions.... "
She gave a small squeek as She tried to contain all her feelings ... " I never wanted You or Fai-san or Kurogane-san .. Or him .. to be hurt ... But you were .. out of my own foolishness and my own stupidity ... I just soo so sorry .." She trailed off ... Tears falling thick and fast ... SHe closed her eyes ... Wishing that she could just make it all stop .. But she couldnt .. She wanted to be strong for the others... But she couldnt ...
She turned and strted to head to the place where the flower petals .. and where her knife lay ... She collected them... Incinerating the knife to dust with her magic ...
She looked up at Kuro and Fai ... She slowly went up to them ... and waited for them to finish talking before she butted in ...
" Sumimasen ... Err... is there a mop around somewhere that I could use...?" she asked .. looking at the floor ... Not wanting to make eye contact at all ..

Kurogane's eyes widened at the ugly wounds carved into the other man's hand and wrist. He reached down, grabbing Fai's arm by the elbow and wrapped the bandage back around it to stop the bleeding. "For the darts? What the hell are you talking about? You nearly lose your hand and you call that fine?!! You really are out of your mind!" Kurogane didn't know why he was so angry - if the irritating wizard wanted to bleed himself to death, why should he care... right? But he was angry... angry at the stupid fake smiles, the silence, the secrets, the careless way he threw about his life as if it didn't matter. Dammit, don't you trust me enough yet not to hide everything all the time?

Syaoran listened silently to Hori; placing a hand on a her shoulder. "Hori-san.."
As she went back inside, leaving him, he turned and gazed out at the quiet dark surroundings. Watching the blooded Sakura petals wash away with the wind, a stab of pain struck his chest. Seishirou-san...
He shook his head sadly, looking back down. He's gone, there's was nothing she could do...nothing I could do..
The boy walked back into the cafe, looking at the dismal remains. Finding Fai and Kurogane together, he went up to them; his expression still forlorn. "Kurogane-san, Fai-san.." he bowed before them. "Sumimasae.."
He glanced at their wounds; then at Hori. "Hori-san...is it all right if you could.."

She looked at Syaoran .. " heal them ?" She asked .. She looked him in the eyes for the first time since the incident ... " I would gladly do that ..." She said

He nodded, then tried to give a small smile.
Failing to do so, he turned around and started clearing the mess around them. At least, hime wasn't awake to see this...

Fai's eyes widened at the ninja's ranting, not understanding how he could be so angry.......not understanding why he cared..... The wizard was trying to answer, trying to explain - but the fatigue from the loss of blood finally overtook him and he closed his eyes, sinking into unconsciousness.

It must be so hard for him She thought watching him turn around ... And seeing his pained semi-smile that he only just managed.
" so ... Who first ?" she asked ... finally having the courage to look up at them both ... And seeing Fai faint ...
" Oh dear..." She said ... walking up to Fai ..." Kurogane-san .. Could you hold him up for me ?" She asked politely .. Letting her hands fill once again with the sparkeling liquid ...
As the Ninja held Fai up ...Hori carefuly poured the substance over Fai's wounds ... " I'm afraid the scar will remain ... " she said ... " Its the best I can do ... " She finished pouring as the wound came to a close ...
She lifted her hands as the liquid started to fill up again ...
"Thank you ... Your turn Kurogane-san .. " She said Looking up Him - and waiting for his reply ..

Kurogane cursed softly as he watched the wizard pass out. He held Fai's shoulders, supporting him so that he wouldn't fall over. He glanced over at Hori. "Him first," he told her. He'd almost forgotten about his own injuries, but the mention had painfully reminded him. But that didn't matter. He'd fought out battles with much worse injuries in the past, after all.

" come on ... " she said ..." Lets get him somewhere more comfortable ... "

The wizard felt waves of magic flow through his hand......breaking through his sleep.......Ashura?......no.......the girl..... He tried to protest, not wanting them to concern themselves with him....not wanting the magic......
Then the sensation of being lifted as someone carried him........who?
The pain in his hand and wrist now gone.....Fai slowly opened his eyes.....

Kurogane frowned. He was hoping the girl would heal him as soon as possible, but then realized she was probably right. And since she was the magic-user and not him, he obeyed. He lifted the unconscious Fai into his arms, surprised at how light he really was. It also surprised him how odd it was to see the wizard, who was always smiling or joking or doing something else just as idiotic, lying limp and pale. He carried Fai to the bedroom they had been in last night, and laid him carefully on the bed.

" Ok .. now ... Your turn .. " she gave a slight half-smile " It might be easier if you sit down ..." The ninja was almost double her size ...
She watched him sit down and she filled her hands again and poured the shimmering substand unto his grazes and cuts ...
" You care about him alot .. even though you dont admit it ... " she said softly " dont you ?"

Care? About Fai? Where did she get that idea? Sure, he was worried about his injury, but that was just because it would be more of a pain to drag around an invalid on their journeys. Besides, they needed his input, his experience, his jokes, and stupid names, wait, what was he thinking??! Getting rather irritated at this train of thought, Kurogane ignored the girl's question and gave a simple snort in reply.

Fai peered through blonde lashes....he was laying on something soft.....Kurogane's bed?..the pain in his hand and wrist gone.
As his eyes regained focus, he saw the face of the ninja looking down at him, an uncommon look of concern on his face. Seeing the look on Kurogane's face brought the hazy memory of being tenderly carried by strong, warm arms........
"Kuro-mu, you carried me?" he asked, his blue eyes wide with wonder.

She stood up .. smiling gentley ... " I'll go help clean up .." she said Leaving the room and carefully closing the door behind her ...

Kurogane felt suddenly disconcerted before he managed to get ahold of himself. Still, he stuttered just a little bit before replying gruffly, "Well, you couldn't very well walk by yourself. Was I supposed to leave you passed out on the floor?" Why was the wizard so surprised that he would do such a thing?
He watched the girl walk out, leaving them alone in the room.

Fai smiled up at the ninja's gruff words, his blue eyes still wide with wonder that Kurogane had carried him...so gently....
The blonde wizard glanced to his wrist, which now wore only a scar to remind him of the battle that had taken place earlier...the girl had used magic....
then reached out with his slender hand, running it gently down the ninja's strong back, now healed and void of the deep scratches. "I see Kuro-pon is all better now too," he smiled teasingly, but with genuine happiness.

Kurogane's back tingled at the intimate touch, like magic running down his spine. He jumped up from his seat on the bed immediately. "That doesn't mean you can do THAT!" he roared defensively, although he couldn't help noticing Fai's smile... a real smile, something he hadn't seen before.

"Gomen ne, Kuro-sama.....don't leave," Fai replied, still smiling. "I didn't mean to.....I..." the wizard's sentence broke off as he found himself at a loss for words, wondering just how he could explain the urge he'd suddenly had to reach out and touch the ninja like that.
Finally giving up, he just stared at the man with his wide, blue eyes....still smiling that smile...and whispered, "Arigatou, Kurogane. No one has ever held me like that before....."

Expecting some kind of lighthearted, teasing response like he always did, Kurogane was floored with the wizard's serious words and sudden inability to put together a complete sentence, and then even more so with his next words. Arigatou, Kurogane. In all the time they'd been travelling together, he'd never heard Fai speak his full name.
"Fai..." He found his speech had left him as well, and for moment Kurogane just wanted to take him in his arms and show him what it really meant to be held. But in seconds his pride and stubbornness had told him how ridiculous an idea that was. He stood in silence for several long moments, and then, not knowing what else to say, began to turn away...

"Fai..."
Hearing that one word spoken from the ninja's lips, Fai gave a small gasp, then bit his lower lip thoughtfully as Kurogane began to turn away......
He desperately wanted him to stay, wanted to just be near him.....needed some sort of companionship.....for once... He tried to tell him.....tried to once again find the right words to say that wouldn't anger or embarrass the man...but not knowing what to do, he simply lay there as the ninja began to walk away........
Then desperate......he whispered softly..and somewhat sadly.. "Please don't go...please...."

He reached the door, and heard a soft voice behind him... Please don't go...please....
On a sudden impulse... he turned around, closed the distance to the bed, and threw his arms around the wizard, pulling him in tight as if he would never let go. "Figured I should do it right," he muttered softly. "Carrying an injured person doesn't count."
Damn his pride, damn his sanity, he just wanted to hold the other man, to see that smile again...

Fai didn't expect the ninja to come back......didn't count on him even turning around....and was completely floored when Kurogane not only came back, but wrapped his arms once more around him and held him close.
The wizard did the only thing he could, he rested his blonde head on the ninja's chest and wrapped his arms around him.....holding tight...never wanting to let go.
After many minutes, Fai lifted his head and looked up at Kurogane with wide, still surprised eyes and gave him another smile.......still not letting go.....

Kurogane wanted to hold him tight... press him against his chest and never let go. He had to stop himself from crushing the blonde in his arms completely. He looked down in stunned shock realizing Fai was smiling up at him, purely and innocently. Something about that smile made him want to...
And being a man of impulse, he let his head drift downward until his lips brushed the other man's...

Feeling perhaps happier than he ever had in his life.....Fai closed his eyes as the ninja bent his head down and pressed his warm lips to his.....kissing him gently.
And he felt everything disappear from his mind except this man and his touch....never wanting him to let go....never wanting to go back to the way it was before he'd felt his arms around him.........never let go......
As they kissed, Fai lay back, pulling the ninja down beside him....still holding him......and when their lips finally, reluctantly, parted, Fai once again lay his head against Kurogane's chest and asked softly, teasingly, "You don't hate me then, Kuro-mu?"

Hori found her way down stairs . To where Syaoran was cleaning up ...
Tears had been silently falling upon the way down ... and she scoulded herself ... She didnt want to cry infront of anyone ... She whiped them away ...
Hori watched Syaoran as he stated to clean the bloodstains off the floor... She crouched down to help him ... She didnt want the silence though ..
" are you feeling alright ?" She asked him queitly ..

Syaoran nodded quietly to Hori's question, not meeting her eyes and continuing to wipe the bloodstained floor.
Hearing Sakura's voice, he looked up. "Hime.."
He saw the troubled look on Hori's face as Sakura asked her about her clothes. "Ah...Ano...it's nothing, hime. " He got up, looking into Sakura's eyes. "I hope you had a good rest?"

Kurogane didn't expect the other man to kiss him back. And he certainly didn't expect to keep kissing him, letting Fai pull down on the bed. When they finally parted Fai laid his head on his chest, and Kurogane's hand moved to his hair to gently hold him there. He half-expected the wizard to look up with that inane joking smile and say something mocking to piss him off again, but Fai's soft words had none of that effect.
"You don't hate me then, Kuro-mu?"
Kurogane frowned. "...Don't be stupid." Hate him? Well, maybe a little part of him always had, but there was also something fragile about the wizard he couldn't help wanting to protect, and maybe... just a little... he was starting to understand him.
Of course, if anyone walked in right now, he was going to vehemently deny this scene......

Fai giggled softly at the ninja's response to his question, then nuzzled Kurogane's chest before closing his blue eyes......
He was exhausted.....not only from the bloody battles of the day....but from the swirling emotions that were going through his mind and body as he lay in the ninja's strong embrace......and he began to drift off. But before succoming totally to sleep, he whispered shyly......"Don't leave me, Kurogane...I love you...."

"But...But Hori-san i can wash your coat for you if you want..."
"Well..um.. I had a dream but it´s was nothing to be worried about ^-^" Sakura said with a smile

Kurogane felt the mage snuggle into his chest, surprised to find that he rather liked it. He let his fingers run though the other man's soft hair as his eyes fell shut.
"Don't leave me, Kurogane...I love you...."
Those three words echoed in his mind over and over... I love you........... I love you..........
As Fai lay still in his arms, presumably sleeping, Kurogane spoke his answer. "Yeah....... me too."

The words had come from the half-asleep mage before he could think...before he could worry how the ninja would react. He froze for a second, then realizing the ninja wasn't going to pull away, he began to drift into sleep.......Kurogane's three, softly answered words barely making it into his subconscious before he began to dream......

Syaoran stood outside, his sad eyes wandering across the quiet area. Are you really gone, Seishirou-san?
The wind blew, ruffling his brown hair. Something just didn't seem right..
A voice broke through the silence, jerking him back to full consciousness.

He looked back, seeing Sakura run up to him smiling. "What is it, hime?"
Suddenly, a figure was seen in the corner of his eye. Turning back around, he saw a girl with long blond hair and soft cat ears...looking around curiously.
He walked hesitantly up to her. "Ano...may I help you?"

Chii took a step back surprised that the boy had noticed her and in the process falling over a garbage can. "Owwwwwwwww..." she moaned as she sat up rubbing her head. "I don't know if you can help me.." she muttered as the boy got closer.
"To tell you the truth..I don't even know where I am."

Seeing the girl fall over a garbage can, he quickly ran up to her.
"Ah! Are you alright?"
Syaoran helped the girl up, grasping her hand softly.
"This is the Cat's Eye cafe..." he looked at her..after she spoke, a concerned look crossed his face.
"ano, perhaps you would like to come in?"

"A cafe...I am not dressed properly for a cafe." Chii said as she looked down at her clothes. Her once white clothing was now gray,torn and tattered.
"May I wash up a bit before we go in..?" she asked. "Oh yes! Before I forget..my name is Chii..and yours kind sir?"

Still held tightly in Kurogane’s arms, the wizard began to wake.
He rested his head once again on the ninja’s strong chest and closed his eyes, still not fully believing this was happening......
Fai listened carefully as voices from outside found their way through the open bedroom window.....Syaoran and someone else.....
The wizard listened, hesitant to leave Kurogane's embrace.......sensing no sign of trouble.

Syaoran smiled and nodded slightly. "I'm Syaoran. And this.." he looked at Sakura "is Sakura."
As they went in, he led the Chii into a bathroom upstairs. Searching for extra clothes, he knocked upon Fai's room. Hearing Fai's cheerful giggles, he opened the door; looking inside. "Fai-san, Kurogane-san we have a guest...gwah!!"
His eyes widened, staring at the shocking scene in front of him. Feeling himself turn red, he quickly looked away. "We, we have a guest, Kurogane-san, Fai-san."

Chii smiled at Sakura and followed after them as they showed her the bathroom. When she stepped into the bathroom and looked in the mirror she was shocked. Her hair was all over the place and tangled and her face had dirt all over it. "I look like a big mess..." Chii muttered as she quickly washed her face and combed her tangled hair.
When she finished Chii followed Syaoran and Sakura to another room. There was giggling and laughing coming from inside.
Fai-san, Kurogane-san we have a guest...gwah!! she heard Syaoran say. As Chii peered over the door frame she blushed furiusly and backed away from the door.

Fai looked up as Syaoran opened the door and began to walk into the room...then began to giggle as the boy stood....frozen at seeing the ninja with his arms wrapped lovingly around the wizard. Sensing the commotion, Kurogane began to stir and Fai slipped out of his arms, reluctantly, still laughing.
"It's okay, Syaoran-kun. Kuro-chan is just getting in touch with his sensitive side."
Then Fai's eyes widened and his laugh was cut short as he saw the delicate girl that looked in from behind Syaoran.
no....it can't be....but....
"Chii?!" Fai whispered in shock....

Chii?! the strange blond man said.
How does this person even know my name, if I haven't even said anything to him..? Chii wondered. "Ummm...I'm sorry. I don't think we've meet before.But it seems that you already know my name, so what is yours?" she asked with a puzzeled look on her face.

Fai stared at the girl...who was Chii....but not...
How could there be another...I created Chii?
His eyes still wide with shock at seeing the girl...who looked so much like the other, he bowed slightly and replied, "Fai......" Then sat back down on the edge of the bed trying to calm his heart. Seeing the girl, he had thought for a moment that.. someone evil had awakened.......

"Well it is nice to meet you Fai-chan." Chii said with a smile and walked over to shake his hand. She then noticed that a strange look had come over the man's face.
"Is there something wrong?" Chii suddenly asked with a concered look on her face.
This man..Fai..seems so familiar to me..Like I've seen him in a dream or something before.No, it must be all in my mind. Chii quickly dismissed the thought and looked back at Fai.

"It's okay, Syaoran-kun. Kuro-chan is just getting in touch with his sensitive side."
Kurogane quickly felt his face turning red. He opened his mouth to roar a curse at the blonde in his lap when he felt the man freeze. He could tell immediately something was wrong in the startled whisper Fai gave. But the girl with the freaky cat ears gave no similar sign of recognition.
"Someone you know?" he murmured softly so only Fai would hear. He remembered his first reaction on seeing Souma in this world who was not really Souma. But with Fai's reaction, he almost thought he sensed fear... not of the girl, but of something... or someone else.

Syaoran looked at Fai's shocked face. Fai-san knows her?
Watching Fai's unsual expression as he sat on back on his bed, he frowned slightly and watched.

Fai reached back to touch Kurogane lightly, letting him know he'd heard his question, but couldn't answer just yet.....couldn't do much more than stare at this girl before him......feeling guilt...the one that looked so much like the one he'd left behind....guarding the king....
"Is there something wrong?" She had asked.......and her voice was also the same....
"No.....no...gomen ne...you just remind me of someone...." Fai replied, trying not to reach out and touch the girl....to see if she was real.
How many nights had Chii held him, to give comfort.....in that cold world.......
And then he wanted far away from them...and the girl, the one who looked so much like the one he had left in danger. The weight of his guilt crushing him.....Fai got up and quickly walked downstairs and out the doors of the cafe.....to sit in the grass....alone.

Kurogane watched the wizard leave, thoughtfully. Once Fai was gone, Kurogane suddenly realized Syaoran was looking at him... strangely. The rough ninja felt his face going red again and quickly coughed, a little too long and too loudly. He stood up and hurriedly stomped from the room, muttering some excuse about "damn mages". He searched the cafe for Fai, finally finding him outside. Kurogane stood in the doorway, not knowing whether the wizard sensed his presence, but just watching, waiting.

"I left her there, Kurogane...." Fai said, sensing the ninja behind him. "I left Chii in my world...in danger. Not that Chii, but one just like her. I created her from magic.... and I left her with him, guarding him."
The wizard paused and looked back towards the ninja, staring into Kurogane's eyes.
"And for a moment, seeing the girl, not knowing......I thought he was awake...."

Hori came up the stairs with a tray of pancakes and plates... seeing the scene before her.... And the newcomer... " Ohayo gozaimas... " She smiled " I dont believe we've met ... I'm Hori... " She smiled at Chii
" Oh .. I made pancakes for breakfast ... " She smiled... " I thought you two were still asleep so I brought some up " She said to Kurogane and Fai ... who went down the stairs... so she decided to leave them alone...

"Nice to meet you Hori." Chii said with a smile and bowed.

Syaoran watched Fai leave, a worryingful look on his face. Then seeing Kurogane stomp after him, he managed to push his worries away.
He turned to Chii and handed her a fresh set of clothes. "These were all I could find..I hope they're not too big."

Chii looked at the new pair of clothes and smiled. "Oh no, these will be fine. Arigato."

Kurogane gazed back at the wizard for several long moments in silence. He didn't have to ask who "he" was. And... what had he said? He created that girl? "Is that what happens?" he finally asked. "When he wakes up, I mean. The girl will come and find you?" He suddenly wanted to know every detail, anything that could help him protect this man when the danger did come. And even more he found he wasn't even questioning these feelings anymore.
But he was quietly wondering... those three words he had spoken, thinking the wizard was asleep... had Fai heard them? Was he only pretending he hadn't? And if he had... what was he thinking?

Fai thought about Kurogane's words for a moment before answering.
Hoping he wasn't imagining the concern in the ninja's voice....
"When he wakes, I don't think Chii will survive it," He finally replied sadly.
"When he wakes....he will come for me, and I'm not sure any world can save me......but I'm safe for now."
Not wanting to speak of sleeping Kings any longer, Fai stood and brushed the loose grass from his pants. Then turning slightly away from the ninja, so as not to embarrass him, Fai spoke softly, "I meant what I said upstairs, Kuro-mu, I love you...But if you don't want this....if you want to forget what happened.......I'll understand....."
It will break my heart, especially since I thought I heard you say you loved me too - but I'll understand..........

Kurogane studied the wizard from behind, letting his eyes fall over the blonde locks that curled in every direction, dropping to the slim waist and long, long legs. He wasn't sure when it happened to him, but...
He closed his eyes. "I don't want to forget," he said bluntly. "I wouldn't have done that in the first place if I had wanted to forget."
His eyelids lifted again, ruby orbs meeting clear blue, trying to convey in one hard look that he was serious.

Then biting his lower lip thoughtfully, he turned, and seeing the look in the ninja's eyes, knew what he said was true.
Fai found he couldn't speak, and could only approach Kurogane, wrapping his arms around the man, and resting his head against his chest.
Never had the wizard felt such happiness....

Chii walked through the cafe concentrating very hard on her apology to Fai. I'm sorry for startiling you earlier. I hope everything is ok now...?
"Aughh! That's no good! That sounds stupid..." Chii sighed and flopped down on the couch behind her. After a while, Chii got up again and started walking towards the back of the cafe. She saw a head of blond hair and started to say, "I'm sorry fo-Oh..I'm sorry am I disrupting something?" Chii asked as a bright pink blush spread onto her cheek. There standing right in front of her was Kurogane and Fai hugging. Oh great! Now I have to apologize for more things!

Hi Chii what's the matter? "They-they're hugging...." Chii stammered and sunk to her knees with a strange look on her face. Fai quickly turned a bit shocked and noticed Chii and Sakura standing there.

"I'm sorry fo-Oh..I'm sorry am I disrupting something?"
"Don't be silly," Fai smiled, reluctantly moving from Kurogane's embrace.
"I should be the one apologizing.....I feel as if I've been very rude to you, leaving like that. It just startled me so much that you look like someone I used to know."
Fai was still amazed at how much the girl looked like the Chii from his world, and couldn't quite figure out how she could exist in this one, when he had in fact created her, but he was beginning to feel more comfortable with the situation.
The wizard suddenly noticed the girl didn't look all that well, with the way she swayed slightly back and forth, "Would you like to come back into the cafe?" He asked kindly. "I have some wonderful sweets, that I think we could all do with eating, and you could tell us a little about yourself," Fai politely motioned the girl and Sakura-chan back into the cafe and to chairs near Syaoran, pulling the ninja along behind him by the shirt-tails.

"Chii do you have a fever? They aren´t hugging, Do you eant something to eat?" Sakura asked with a smile

Chii rubbed her eyes and slowly replied, "I don't think I have a fever. I think I'm just a bit tired from all the recent stress that I've been suffering from..." Chii smiled a weak smile as she slowly sat down in the chair next to Syaoran. As she sat there watching Fai and Sakura hurry getting the food ready she wondered about herself. When everyone had sat down she let out a breath and started talking.
"Well...to tell you the truth I would tell you more about me. But honestly I can't rememeber what I am doing here in the first place. In fact.." Chii said pulling a face," I can't rightly remember much about my past either.."

"Here you go Chii" "You don´t remember much of your past? Me either, I only know those things Syaoran-Kun have told me" Sakura said

"Well at least you have someone to tell you what has happened in your past. I just woke up in the middle of no where and couldn't even remember my name for a second.."Chii said as she reached for one of the snacks that Sakura had placed on the table.

Fai stood by the bar, next to Kurogane, listening to Chii and Sakura talk about missing pasts. As Chii mentioned waking up not knowing who or where she was, his blue eyes searched out Kurogane's, as if silently asking the man if he thought it had anything to do with a feather, or the one who was always watching them, that Sakura had spoke of in Jade.

"Oh that´s very sad to hear" Sakura said. A tear fell from her eye

Syaoran listened intently to Chii and Sakura...only to remember that he too, has a missing past.
Images flashed into his mind...
the rain...his bandaged hands...villagers looking at him in disgust...
He swallowed painfully;remaining silent.
that was before Father found me...before he gave me a name..

"Syaoran-Kun is this hard for you to hear?" Sakura asked

"Well, I thank-you for all your hospitality, but I don't want to be a burden any longer." Chii said as she finished the last of her food.
"I'll just go get whats left of my stuff and leave.." Chii said. She pushed away her chair and started to gather her things.

Syaoran-Kun is this hard for you to hear?
Syaoran shook his head and smiled slightly. "It's nothing."
He quickly got up as Chii went to get her things. "Ah, please stay!"

Chii smiled a small smile, "No, I can't stay here and become a burden I would just feel more guilty. And anyway, I'll need to find a job and a place to live. It seems that you all have enough on your hands, so I can't possibly stay!" Chii said.

"I'll just go get whats left of my stuff and leave.."
Fai watched as the girl began to gather her things, the poor thing still looked somewhat unstable on her feet, and Fai felt he couldn't let her go like this.
"Chii, please, stay....." He told her. "You have nowhere to go......do you?"
He asked her softly.

"You have nowhere to go.....do you?"
Chii stood there staring at Fai as he said that. "No, I don't...But I'm sure that if I find a job I can certanly buy my own place to stay!" Chii suddenly said with a determind look on her face.
"And then maybe...just maybe, I can figure out what I'm doing here."

"Well, then.....how about you work here?" Fai asked, smiling down at the girl that reminded him so much of the one from his land.....the only friend he had in that cold world..... "You can work here, and stay here, we have room, ne?" He asked, looking to Syaoran.

Syaoran nodded and smiled at the girl.
"Yes, we have extra rooms here, and you can work with Fai-san and Sakura-san in the cafe."

Chii started at them blankly for a minute and then snapped back to reality with a large smile on her face. "Hai! Thank-you so much!!! I'll find a way to pay you back!! Arigato!!" Chii cried.
"I promise that I'll work really really hard! Arigato, arigato!"

Kurogane read the wizard's expression and returned the look. So I'm not the only one who finds her story strange. But he noticed the wizard's smile brighten as he talked to the girl, making him wonder what kind of attachment he had to the other Chii, the one from Fai's world. He wondered why it irritated him just a little.
"Great." he deadpanned at the girl's enthusiam. "How about working really, really hard to make breakfast?"

Yes, we have extra rooms here, and you can work with Fai-san and Sakura-san in the cafe When Sakura heard that Chii will work with her and Fai-San she gave a little smile. "That´s great it will be so much fun ne Right Chii?" Sakura asked with a smile

"You bet this will be lots of fun! I hope I can remember how to cook though.." Chii said with a bit of a worried look on her face.
"How about worrking really, really hard to make breakfast?" "Coming up!" Chii said as she hurried off to the kitchen. "Sakura-chan, do you think you could help me make breakfast?" Chii asked stopping half-way to the kitchen. "I just don't want to mess this meal up!"

"Ok!" Chii said with a smile. She walked back to where Kurogane, Fai and Syaoran were sitting. "What did you guys want for breakfast? We don't want to make anything that you wouldn't want to eat." Chii said.

Fai heard the tone in Kurogane's voice and looked to him with questioning eyes, reminding himself to bring it up with the ninja later, when they were alone.
Perhaps he should have explained his relationship with the girl a little more clearly...
Could Kurogane actually be......jealous?
"Anything you and Sakura-chan make would be fine, Chii," Fai said encouragingly to the small girl, as he took a seat next to Kurogane. "Right, Kuro-chan?" the wizard asked, giving the man a grin.

When breakfast was done Sakura and Chii brought put it on the table. On the large plate was a large stack of pancakes. "We also brought syurp and other things to go on top of the pancakes!" Chii said as Sakura came in holding up the syurp.
At the same time Sakura and Chii both said, "Enjoy!" as everyone sat down at the table.

Hori sat and watched every one go about their buisness..... Seems Fai and Kurogane were getting along well... and Chii was a welcomed newcomer.....Sakura and Syaoran were an obvious pair to her.... And then her eyes retured to her blood stained gown ....
She didnt want to be here any longer.... She was.... ashamed to be alive... and didnt want to be a burden upon her kind hosts...
She looked up to Syaoran ... " I think its time for me to go ... " She said.... plastering on a smile as best she could...

Syaoran looked at Hori, instantly seeing through her fake smile.
"Hori-san..." he muttured softly as he watched her leave through the door.
Seeing the others busy with their food, he slipped quietly after her.

Deep in the shadows of the Sawako Shrine, sakura petals swirled in the wind. The wind moaned... there came a mysterious aura in the air.
The petals stirred, grouping together....forming the shape of a man.
You think you may have killed me, Hori...but you forget..I am a sakurazukamori...
there, in the shadows, Seishirou waited...
Then, he saw the girl...walking slowly, sadly, up to the shrine.
"Why so sad, Hori?" He smiled...in partial amusment at the surprised look on her face,

As she took her slow prosession to the shrine ... She couldnt help but cry ... silently ..
She carefully walked up to the shrine - Unbeknown to her the petals dancing around the cold stony entrance to the Shrine...
"Why so sad, Hori?" She reconized the voice instantly .... and the aura...
Her gaze shot to the origin of the sound.... she clasped her hands over her open mouth her eyes wide with suprise and happiness
" Sei...Seishirou....... How....? " She eyes brimmed with tears.... and the tumbled down her face once again ...
She stood fast .. glues to the spot...

Syaoran quietly went after Hori, following her to the shrine. He hid behind a Sakura tree, watching to see what she would do next. Unaware of the strange aura and Sakura pedals swirling around, he saw Hori weep..his eyes softening.
Suddenly he gasped. Standing in front of Hori was Seishirou, looking down at the girl.
His brown eyes widened, but restrained himself from running to them. Seishirou-san..!

" ... Oh.. My .. God ... " She whispered... overjoyed with happiness she ran to him ... embracing him .. and almost knocking him over ..

Seishirou stumbled back as Hori lunged into him in happiness. He grasped her, a small smile upon his face.
"you thought that I had died, Hori?"
He wiped the tears flowing freely down her face. "Seeing how you are now, I think you did."

She nodded ... She was so relieved to see him ... She happy that she felt she could light up the world with it - like a lamp in the darkness...
She buryed her face in his chest and smiled ... She couldnt speak - as words escaped her

Finishing his breakfast, Kurogane stood. Walking to the corner where his sword rested, he picked it up, silently attaching the sheath to his belt. He turned his back to the others, toward the door. "I'm going out for supplies," he announced. "Seeing as half of ours were destroyed last night." Not waiting for any response, Kurogane began walking toward the door. He wouldn't say it, but he hoped a certain blonde behind him had been paying attention and might take the hint.

Wide, blue eyes watched Kurogane as he strapped on his sword and headed to the door... and Fai couldn’t help but think of their shared words earlier... "Don't leave me, Kurogane...I love you...." words he had spoken held tight in the ninja’s arms for the first time...
And the reply coming from the ninja, that Fai had barely heard, before drifting into sleep... "Yeah....... me too."
He didn’t know how it had all come about, but he wasn’t about to question... the love he felt for the dark-haired man causing a physical ache in his chest that could suddenly only be filled when he was near Kurogane.
“Matte, Kuro-pon... I’ll help you,” Fai called out, politely excusing himself from the table and falling into step beside the bigger man as they walked out the cafe entrance and into the sunlight... together...

Kurogane slowed his stride just a little to let the wizard catch, not bothering to make any pretense of protesting either his presence or the silly names. He continued walking in step with Fai, not at all uncomfortable with the silence. Pink sakura petals floated down from the sky, occasionally lighting on their clothes or hair. When he noticed the wizard's blue eyes gazing at him. Something in his chest turned in a strange but not unpleasant feeling, still unused to the fact that he'd pretty much confessed his feelings just last night. Damn, this is going to be a pain to get used to. But for once he didn't mind the company of the wizard at his side.

As they walked, Fai gazed over at the ninja, still amazed that only this morning he'd been resting in the man's strong arms... and found himself wanting to be there again...
As they passed through a group of beautiful sakura trees, Fai lifted a hand to gently shake the branch, sending hundreds of the little petals to fall over Kurogane’s hair and clothes. Then giggling mischievously up at him, and moving quickly out of the ninja’s reach, he hid behind one of the large trees...waiting for Kurogane to come to him...

Seishirou gently hugged back, patting her head. Then looking up, he pushed her behind him.
He turned to the trees, smiling.
"Don't think I don't know you're there, Syaoran-kun."

Kurogane waved at the shower of petals falling down on him, attempting to brush them from his clothes. "Oi, you damn mage!" He reached out to grab the mischievous blonde, who slipped just out of the grasp of his fingers... disappearing behind a tree with that giggling that could drive a man mad...
He followed him... drawn to the other man, slipping around the tree to find him... catching his wrist before Fai could escape again, he trapped him against the tree with a hand pressed to the bark on either side of him. He quickly leaned forward, as if to kiss him... but with a teasing grin stopped short, instead lifting a hand to pluck a sakura petal from Fai's blonde bangs.

As Kurogane cornered him against the tree, Fai felt his heartbeat quicken at the ninja’s touch. His eyes then drifted slowly closed as the man leaned in...
Fai waited for the kiss, then opened his eyes in confusion, only to see Kurogane smiling down at him with a teasing grin of his own on his handsome face, as he gently lifted a petal from the wizard’s blonde hair.
“Kuro-mu!” Fai laughed, surprised and delighted at the ninja’s sudden sense of humor. He reached up, running his fingers softly through Kurogane’s dark hair. Then suddenly needing Kurogane close, Fai tilted his head, gazing deep into the man’s bright eyes... silently willing his kiss...

Don't think I don't know you're there, Syaoran-kun.
Syaoran gasped, the slowly stepped out from behind the tree. He stared at the smiling face upon Seishirou.
"Why...are you still alive?"

Kurogane - strong ninja that he was - almost shivered at the touch of the smaller man's fingers through his hair. Then his chin had tilted upwards, clear blue eyes meeting his gaze, as if asking.... pleading...
Kurogane wasn't about to refuse. There was no one here in the this empty park that would spot them, anyway. Oh hell, he really didn't care who saw them anymore. He leaned in all the way this time, capturing the wizard's lips in a surprisingly gentle kiss...

Seishirou motioned Hori away.
"I'm a Sakurazukamori, Syaoran-kun. That's how it is."
He held out his hands, closing and reopening them. The shadows on the ground merged together, forming a monstrous tarantula-like kijii.
"Do you know why Sakura petals are pink, Syaoran-kun?"
He smiled as he watched Syaoran shake his head.
"It's because there are corpses beneath the trees..."
The kijii lashed out at Syaoran, sending a deep gash down the right side of his face. Seishirou smirked, watching Syaoran double over in agony.
"And you, Syaoran-kun, will be joining them very soon."

Syaoran clenched his teeth, his hands stained from trying to wipe the blood away. Blood dripped continuously from the fresh wound the ran down from his right ...had it been the left side he would be blind. He stood up, staggering a little. He looked at the looming kijii... It would be impossible to fight it singlehandedly.
The only way...is to get rid of its source!
Syaoran ran toward Seishirou, preparing a kick.

" Seishirou !!!!!!!!" She yelled - more like screamed ...
She couldnt let him do this again!
" Why are you doing this ?" She asked him ... " Are you choosing a JOB over people who you care about ?" She asked

The kijii leapt in front of Seishirou, catching hold of Syaoran's leg. It clicked happily, snapping the femur and ripping the tendons.

Seishirou paused.
"Enough."
The kijii dropped the helpless boy on the ground, it's eight eyes looking back at Seishirou.
Seishirou peered down at the shaking boy.
"where are you mates, Syaoran-kun?"

Hori gave a sigh of relief as the thing stopped... She started to step forward..

Seishirou pushed her back.
"No Hori, I want an answer. Where is the blond mage and the black haired man?"
The kijii's pincers clicked threateningly as he recieved no reply.
He frowned and turned and left, bringing Hori along and leaving him bleeding on the ground.
"The trees will enjoy your blood, Syaoran-kun."

As Kurogane's lips pressed softly against his, Fai felt a warmth fill him... completely...and tears of happiness suddenly sprung up in his eyes, as this man so gently expressed his feelings to him.
After many minutes of gentle kisses, Fai moved to Kurogane’s neck and whispered softly in his ear... “I love you, Kurogane...” Then facing him once more, kissed him passionately, arms wrapped tightly around the ninja... needing his warmth and love...
And being so overwhelmed by the emotions he was experiencing for the first time... so completely wanting the other man... Fai failed to sense the evil magic that traveled throughout Outo... searching...

Syaoran glared at Seishirou through his agony, refusing to speak.
Watching Seishirou and Hori leave him, he tried to get up, instantly collapsing back down, giving a sharp gasp of pain. He looked down at his leg, grimacing. It had been broken and torn up by the kijii, and is bleeding endlessly. He ripped off a piece of cloth, wrapping it tightly around his leg. He wiped blood away from his face, the severe gash hurting terribly. Leaning heavily on 'Hien', he limped slowly after them...

Hori tried to stay fast but Seishirou was much stronger than her... " Syaonan-kun .. " She said ...could she help him ? Would the magic go that far ? Not hers anyway ... She was still to inexperienced ..
Seishirou wouldnt let her go to him ...How was she going to go and warn them ? Telepathy ? No .. she couldnt do that ...
' Fai-San, Kurogane-san ... ' She thought ... ' Please .. I pray that you can run and get out of the way ..'
" Why ... Are you wanting to see Fai-san and Kurogane-san ?" She asked Seishirou ....

Kurogane pressed back into the kiss hungrily, letting his hands slip down to the blonde's hips, holding him firmly in place. His whispered words still repeated in his mind - "I love you, Kurogane". And somehow he'd stopped questioning it, and he knew he loved Fai, too. Distantly he realized it was Fai who was stealing his breath, making him weak... but for once the ninja didn't mind it. All he wanted to do was hold him... possess him...
Unaware that they were being watched...

The air shivered as Seishirou stepped across the grounds. He dragged Hori along, unwilling to let her go.
"Syaoran can take care of himself, Hori." He stated, as he saw the girl looking back desperately.
He approached the Sakura trees, the evil smile spread on his face as he saw the mage and ninja...completely heedless to their surroundings.
"Good Afternoon."

Completely lost within the touch of Kurogane, Fai didn't sense the dark sorcerer until the man was nearly upon them. He gasped slightly, his grip tightening on Kurogane's arm, as he tried pulling the ninja back, knowing just what a man with such power was capable of... for he had considerable experience with one such as this...
Not answering the man's greeting, Fai reached into his coat, his slender fingers closing around the one forgotten dart from the last bloody battle at the cafe.

A kijii silently appeared from the two men's shadows. It lashed out behind them, its long spider legs catching them off-guard.
Seishirou watched as blood splattered on the ground...and a figure collapsing into the other's arms.

"Good afternoon."
The words sent a chill through Kurogane's spine as he tore away from Fai, spinning to find - to his shock - a man that should have been dead. He could feel Fai's hand trying to pull him back... wanting to protect him... but he reached for his sword, eyes locked with Seishirou's.
A movement caught him off guard - a presence behind him he hadn't sensed - he jerked his arm, hoping to pitch Fai forward and out of the way. Before he could draw his sword or even turn, the creature was upon him. With a sickening blow and a searing pain, Kurogane looked down with wide eyes to see one of the kiji's spike-like legs sticking out his abdomen. For a brief moment he thought he saw Fai, and then he was falling... falling into darkness......

" FAI !!!!" She yelled desperatly... " KUROGANE !!!!" Trying to break free from Seishirou's Grasp on her shoulder.

Fai cried out... as suddenly Kurogane was attacked by the kiji, falling heavily into his arms, and pulling the wizard down to the ground with his weight. Fai wanted to touch the man... pull him close to hold him cradled in his arms, but there was no time...
Fai could feel the kiji behind him... could see the dark sorcerer raising his hand once again... as if in slow motion, a sakura blossom floated down to land upon Kurogane's hair... and Fai knew he had to make a desperate choice... but really there was no choice...
Rising quickly, Fai's eyes sliding closed... he whispered words under his breath...gaining power... using his love for the man that lay bleeding on the ground... and raising a hand behind himself, replaced the kiji, that stood ready to kill, with only shimmering air...
Then without turning towards the sorcerer, Fai again whispered... taking the dart he clutched in his hand and wiping it against his coat to cover it in the blood of the one he hoped to still save... and with a throw that had no intention of missing, Fai sent the arrow straight into Seishirou's left eye, leaving the man completely blind... with only the girl to lead him staggering away as blood poured from his wound.
Then quickly kneeling to the ground, Fai gently rest his hands upon Kurogane, using his magic once more... to heal the one he loved...

She gasped as the scene unfolded ... She knew she had to get away with Seishirou ...
She nodded to Fai as she dragged Seishirou away ... Silently .. with tears in her eyes..

Sakura.... pink sakura blossoms floated from the sky... like bloodstained snow, coming to light on his face in a whisper-soft touch.
Sakura.... swirling angrily like a whirlwind... with the memory of a face, a single eye of pure evil... where is he? I'll kill him.... I'll kill him.... if he hurt the one I love.... He wanted to move his hand, to close his fingers around his sword, but his body would not respond.
And then a strange sensation reached his senses.... a strange tingling running through his whole body, as if.... as if something was pulling him back together again. Slowly..... a face was coming back into focus, and Kurogane could only open his mouth to whisper.
"Fai...?"

Fai's hands tingled with warmth, as the power, held back for so long, flowed through him... pulsing into Kurogane... closing his wounds... bringing him back.....
"Fai...?"
A tear fell to rest softly on Kurogane's chest, as Fai responded to hearing that one word come from the ninja's lips... "Kurogane..." Fai murmured, leaning over the man to look into his beautiful eyes, then bending down to kiss him gently.
"I love you..." Fai whispered softly. Then unused to the powerful magic that had taken all his strength, he laid his blonde head on the ninja's chest, and fell into an exhausted sleep...

Seishirou staggered in pain as blood flowed freely from his punctured eye. He cried out, groping blindly about...
Grasping onto Hori, sakura petals swirled around them as he and Hori disappeared.
Reaching the shrine, he collapsed into Hori, filled with remorse. "I'm sorry, Hori..."

Syaoran trudged painfully, blood dripping from the soaked cloth wrapped around his mangled leg. The distinct shapes of Kurogane and Fai appeared not far from him.
"Kurogane-san, Fai-san!"
He approached them, breathing hard from the severe loss of blood. His eyes widened as he saw the surroundings, pink and crimson Sakura petals scattered everywhere..the ground stained red. He gasped, seeing Fai unconscious in Kurogane's arms.
"Kurogane-san..is Fai-san all right? What happened?"

" Seishirou... " She said.. " Stay still"
She filled her hands with shimmering luiquid ... Starting to pour it over Seishirou ...

Kurogane slowly felt the pain drifting away, no... being taken away... as he saw Fai's blue eyes hover above him - those damned beautiful eyes, so full of tears.... why? He felt the press of Fai's lips to his, but the next thing brought dread to his heart - Fai's body, limp against his. He sat up, amazed to find that he could do so easily without pain. Bringing a hand to his abdomen he found no wound at all, as if it had never happened, and gradually the truth of what had just happened began to dawn on him. He lifted the wizard's unconscious body into his arms. "You damn mage..."
He heard the sound of his voice being called - the boy was here. "...is Fai-san alright?" Honestly, he had no idea, but he was putting his trust in the wizard.
"Yeah," he answered, "he's only..." His words cut short when he looked up to see the condition the boy was currently in. The full realization came to him, and Kurogane's eyes narrowed in anger at the one who had done this. "You too? Seishirou?" He didn't have to ask, and right there, Kurogane silently swore he would make that demon pay for what he had done.

Syaoran nodded, a dark shadow crossing his wounded face. Seishirou-san..
A sudden jolt of pain erupted in his leg, driving him onto the ground, gritting his teeth in agony.
Moments afterward, the pain subsided, leaving him breathing heavily on the dirt. He got back up, staggering.
"We should...get back to the cafe."

From far away, Fai felt strong arms around him... Kurogane... felt the man's worry, then anger at the one who had done this to them. Through closed eyes, he sensed Syaoran's... pain... Finding that with the reawakening of his magic, he had also increased his ability to sense those close to him, feel their emotions, and he was not entirely sure if the ability comforted him or made him afraid.
His pale eyelids fluttered slowly, but not being able to completely wake yet, still exhausted from the use of magic... Fai whispered softly to the man who held him in his arms... "The cafe.... Kurogane...we have to get back..."

"Get back to the cafe..." Kurogane heard the words repeated and he knew that's what they had to do. Blinded or not, he didn't trust that Seishirou bastard to stay away from them for long. Feeling the wizard trying to move, he pulled him closer, pinning him to his chest with one arm. "Hey, you... shut up. Quit wasting your energy." You're not dying on me yet. Not when I still have too many things to say to you... and to ask you. His eyes turned to Syaoran, silently taking in his condition. "And you... you won't be walking anywhere like that." With a sigh, he lifted Fai, carefully arranging him over his shoulder before standing and walking to the boy. Before he could protest, Kurogane hoisted him by the arm onto his other shoulder. With that, he headed for the cafe, though not without a bit of obligatory muttering. "Jeez... since when did I become a beast of burden?"
Reaching the cafe, he entered the first bedroom, depositing each person in a bed there. The boy's injuries looked pretty bad... he might take a while to heal. Looks like I'll be playing doctor again. Glancing over at the blonde wizard, the one he... loved... he saw that the man seemed to have fallen asleep again. He looked down at where his own wound should have been, still hardly believing it. I should be dead. Fai... you said you would never use your magic. I don't understand. Why now?

Syaoran winced as Kurogane dropped him gently on the bed. He saw Mokona, a worried expression on the little white creature's face.
He lay down on the bed, feeling faint. He could see darkness fading in and out before his eyes, trying to take him in.
"There was no feather.." he whispered, his voice somber. "it was only the kijii's power..Seishirou-san's power.."
He closed his eyes, allowing himself to fall into the darkness.

Fai felt himself carried, then laid gently down... heard Syaoran’s soft voice from across the room, ”There was no feather...” and Fai drifted in and out of sleep... his dreams mixing with the real world around him... seeing Kurogane in his arms... bleeding... no, saved... by magic... his magic...
“Kurogane...” Fai whispered his name, his blue eyes tightly closed, wanting to hear the sound of the word, wanting the man who owned the beautiful name, needing to be sure he was safe, even in his exhaustion... and then Fai felt the beginnings of a different magic swirling in the air around them... a magic that would be pulling them away... and he held out a slender hand, reaching for the one that he loved... needing to stay close by Kurogane’s side...

Mokona watched Syaoran silently fall asleep, the pained expression slowly softening.
Picking up a towel, he wiped away the blood on the boy's poor marred face.
He looked at Fai and Kurogane, the two seeming to be immersed in a deep relationship. Mokona paused, then nodded quietly to himself.
The decision was made.
"Time will go!" Great wings spread wide across the Mokona's back as he opened his wide mouth, sucking them in.
Pah! Mokona gulped, taking a last step on Outo before disappearing into the next world...
