Title: Broken bones...
Post by: Arcademan on June 25 2005, 01:55 pm
In another forum I frequent, they started a thread on how many times and what bones you've broken in your body so I said "What the heck? I don't start too many threads here so let's go for it."  :hehe:

With that said, I've broken my leg when I was 5...my brother pushed me off the roof onto the sidewalk below. Since then, I've broken a few toes but nothing major for over 30 years  :okay:

I haven't broken a bone before in my life yet, but I have gotten quite a few sprains. My closest call of getting a broken bone was when I was 7 I think...when I slipped on a water drain in San Francisco.  :sweatdrop:

Never broken a bone in my life.
Sprains, Hyper-extensions, burns, and deep deep cuts are something I get all the time, though!

when i was 8 I fell off my stairs and landed on the palm of my hand backwards so i snapped both bones in that wrist and then a year later i was swinging on my clothesline pole and fell off of that and broke my other wrist. lol. at the time it hurt really bad and i was screaming for my mom but my sister (Dark_Card) and my brother were laughing there heads off so neither of them went and got my mom so i had to get up and go find my mom inside the house. lol now it is funny but when it happened i was so mad at them. lol

Hmm.. never broken a bone before. I just had a lecture on it so let me crap a little :hehe:

Bone basically make up of 2 different bon tissue called: compact (dense ) bone and cancellous (spongy) bone.
Compact bone if found on the outer layer of the bone and along the shaft. Spongy bone found  in its interior that is where u can find your red bone marrow.

Compact bone is made up of the building unit called osteon which is tapered, cylinderical. It is arranged in parallel to the axis. Hence it can only withstand strength along the axis. so force applied to the side will break the bone. like how takewondo ppl break things.

Whereas spongy bone is found in the epihysis where it experience less stress and are able to withstand force from all magnitude cos it is made up of hard bond matrix called trabeculae which form an interwoven net work. Imagine like sponge and in the spaces are where your red bone marrow are found. It make your bone less heavy.

ok enough of crapping.. Make u more confused?

Aww man, I gotta start counting 2 fingers on my left hand and 1 on my right both of my wrists and collarbones, my left forearm, left foot, and ankle and 4 ribs. *tallies the count* that makes 14 broken bones I've had.

I never broke any of my bones but I came close to breaking my bones twice; when I was 10 years old, I was climbing a tree and a stick went through my leg. It nicked my bone, but I didn't break it. I had to wear a walking cast for 2 weeks, and I wasn't allowed to play during recess or gym! Of course, everybody was nice to me after it happened, but I wished I could have played instead.

Also, when I was 15, I was helping my neighbors catch their dog, and I was able to catch him, but he bit my left wrist; it didn't break, but ever since that happened, my wrist lost bone density, and I can use it, but not as much as before. It hurts if I lift anything with it.

Haven't broken any bones yet. I just have knees and elbows full of scars and scrapes, which is what happens when you put a tomboy on a gravel road and give her a bicycle and a forest full of trees to climb. @_@ Ha... though its been a while since I climbed a tree.....

I never broken any bones before, but I do remember coming extremely close.

I was jumping on my friends trampoline and tried to do a flip and ended up with my ankle inbetween the springs. >_<
Hurt...so....bad...!

That's how my brother, Andrew, broke his leg when he was about 5 or 6. He gets injured all the time, we laugh at it now (as cruel as it sounds, we do).

No nothing... *shifty eyes* It's kind of like an episode of the Twilight Zone... O.o Maybe I'm a robot! >_< Erm, but don't count on it...

Oooh, LOL... I understand. But why are so many band directors so mean like that? I had a friend a looong time ago in band and he broke his leg and still went in the marching band the next day so his teacher wouldn't yell! O.o I was like, whoa, if you were sitting I could understand.. but seriously...

0_0 whoa harsh.  Well most of teh people in the fine arts are very.....impatient....im in it too..does that make me imaptient?? hn.. But my band director would probably tease me saying like "Well at least it was your arm and not your horn."  Or something sarcastic like that ^^::

Off-topic: Not so weird. I always wondered what it would be like to fall from a very high place. I mean, I know once I hit the ground it would hurt, but I want to know what falling would feel like. I've had dreams about it.

On-topic: Though it's not broken, lately my knee has been hurting when I get up after sitting down. Although that would be obvious.

The worst broken bone was one of my fingers! XD Yeah it's true!
Because it was a very complicated injury.
At the doctor my mother and I laughed about the way it happens (another girl ran into me) but then the doc saied something like: Uhhh thats terrible! You must go into the hospital and have an operation.
I was like: WHAT THE HELL...?
But it was a good hospital: the doc gave me some anaesthetic and then he pulled the finger and fit the broken bone on the one which was O.K. So it healed without an operation.
Haha my mother left the room because she thought she must...ähhh yeah you know what I mean right?
For me it was interesting but the night where the anaesthetic lost power was terrible... I still feel the pain...

Yeah! A summary: three broken fingers (on one hand) and a broken toe (that I never realised. First I saw it a couple of weeks later when I saw that my toe was skew and I felt a little  bump...I still feel it today...)
XD XD XD
