Title: CCS Manga Help?
Post by: Shiunu on February 07 2006, 11:56 am
Hi. I was planning on buying a few CCS manga but I don't know where to start. I've seen the manga in bookstores and there's like two different versions. Because it starts at vol. 1 and then go through to like 8 or 9 and then starts out at 1 again. I'm a little confused by this. So can you guys help me out with this? I'm just a little confused by the ordering of the manga. Like what manga volumes is what part of the storyline?

Thanks!

Uh... I don't get the question but there's 12 volumes in all. The first 6 is when they catch Clow Cards and the second part is changing them into Sakura Cards...

There are two arcs, one where she collects the cards, and one where she turns them into Sakura cards and Eriol-kun appears.

The first ones are a yellow color, and go through 6.  The second arc has jewel like things in the corner...wah, thats a bad description, and say Cardcaptor Sakura (Mastor of the Clow).  And goes through 6.

Yeah, I got confused and bout 2, 3 and 4 of the second arc and then 1, 5, and 6 of the first.  A looooot of confusion, there.

Okay. Sorry I didn't explain the question well enough :/ Um. Okay. So in the bookstores. There's 1-6 and then it starts out at another 1-6? Because I've seen like a 1-6 then another 1-6. So is it that way to seperate the two parts?

Okay. I think I get it now.

I'm still confused about those box sets I just posted above this one.

Okay, the two boxsets you showed in the pics cover the first 6 Cardcaptor Sakura manga series. You can buy them as boxsets or as individual issues. Printed in the United States by TokyoPop, they are the re-commisioned versions. The original printing were smaller and done as English comic books (opposite the true manga) and some of the translations weren't done well.

Volumes 7 through 12 (Cardcaptor Sakura: Master of the Clow) are seperate from the original six and continues with the Eriol story arc as Sakura turns the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards (and IMO superior storyline compared to the anime).

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me. The prices for the 2 boxsets on Amazon aren't bad at all. If they're in stock, I'd pick them up fast. eBay has them too (and got them at about $15 sealed there myself).
