Hewo~ it's me again~! m also a fan of chobits~!! Chii's so kawaii~ with all the chii~ :love5: and the opening song was so sweet and cool~!!

The comparision of Manga/Anime is... well torn...
There is one thing in the Manga which is better but worse in the Anime.

In terms of cuteness factor - Really high!
Maybe that's why I decided to finish reading it all.

I think Chobits is an adorable series! I loved the series but the ending wasn't that great, in my opinion.

Chobits lacked a sense of direction, so sometimes I lost interest in it, but I liked the manga more than the anime. The anime had too many pointless filler-in episodes and the ending wasn't as good as the manga's ending. I also thought that the manga's crossover with Angelic Layer was a little bit cheesy. It was like, "I know we were just talking about something really important about Chi, but let's start talking about that Angelic Layer stuff like it and persocoms are a fad or something!". >< Chobits is probably my least fav CLAMP series, but it is definetly the funniest series from them that I've read/seen. Sumomo and Kotoko were just awesome! Kotoko: Can't you wait normally? Sumomo: Sumomo is programmed to wait this way!

agreed, manga is way better ending... the anime confused me... i was like... 'wait a sec... that didn't happen that way...'
And Kotoko is probably my favourite persocom with Chii, Kotoko is just like >__< these people aren't normal...

I liked Chobits, manga a little more than the anime though. LMAO, at first, I thought it was kind of dirty how Chii is 'turned on'. >_< Hideki was okay, not my favourite bishie though....too much fantasies about porn and girls -_-
Chii got really annoying in the anime though. How many times does one have to say: "Chii!" its like, "ARGH, SAY SOMETHING ELSE!" ^^"
I thought it was okay, the music in the anime was cute and sugary, much like CCS, hmm, however, I loved Ninygo Hime the best, Let me be with you,was a good song, but got on my nerves after awhile. The opening was adorable in terms of visuals, lip singing, lmao!
I have to say, my favourite persocom was Sumomo, just because I like loud, obnoxious, but very cute things!
The underwear episode made me laugh so hard, lmao, That had to be the best episode, of them all! *cries*

I liked chobits. ^^; I'm guessing it was more for males, but still tried to reach out to the female audience with how cute and nice Chii is. Anyway... >>;; I liked both the anime and manga. Yes, the anime did have a lot of fillers. But, oh well, I still liked it. I suppose I'm not really picky when it comes to animes. Everyone says the manga is sooo much better but it has more detail and blah blah blah... nothing I've never heard before. I guess thats true, yet I'm just one of those people that enjoys watching anime instead of reading manga. ( However, I really like this one manga... but anyway.. )

yeah, Chobits was probably more of something that guys would like more than the female populus. but hey! look at me watching/reading it! XD and wait... someone mentioned about how Chii in the anime was kinda annoying when saying 'chi' <---totally agree. ^___^" but the voice actor was good no? Tanaka Rie shall live on~ lol

She doesn't say it forever.. I mean, Chii eventually brings to talk when Hideki teaches her. Then again, instead of saying " I ", she says " Chii ". ^^;;

I loved the series so much, but never got to read the manga (Never had the money v_v) but, my parents were the ones who bought me the whole dvd set. I loved Chii so much, she was just so sweet~~!! There were so many parts where I thought I would cry ^ + ^ because of the relationship with Takako and Shimbo. I really enjoyed the ending and thought that the seiyuu's were great as well~
Over all, I will always love Chobits forver! ^ ^

Personally, I think Chobits was a pretty good read. I read the entire manga (at a bookstore) and I enjoyed it. Chii's ears were cute ^_^ (I liked her fuzzy ears in Tsubasa better though) But, the anime however is kinda, I dunno, looked more perverted. (sorry, I couldn't find the right word for it) I didn't like it as much. Anyway, Chobit's isn't really one of my favorites, but it's still pretty good.

I want to get the rest of the manga, I only have the first few volumes, and the difference wasn't that much *minus the ecchi* however, I was wonderign what to expect, I did hear that the endings were different, but what makes it different?

The endings are mostly the same expect the manga explains things in a lot more detail than the anime and there's a reference to Angelic Layer in the manga.

The anime ending was rushed. I didn't get it at first, then I got the mangas and then it made much more sense. In cramming the 26 eps into the series, they easily could've made a couple more in explaining Freya's presence and not wasting an episode on a flashback and a day at the beach with the entire cast that certainly didn't appear in the manga (and for everyone to get together like that would be out of character with the storyline proper...)

The anime adaptions to some manga series are tended to be... as Arcademan puts it, rushed. But I dont mind Chobits that much in both versions. But of course I prefer the manga version better. ^____^

yes, the ending was definitely rushed but i read the manga before i saw the anime so it made sense to me. i also agree that they should have put more time in explaining freya's presence in the anime rather than well.. "minoru-kun and yuzuki talk" or "shinbo and sumomo talk" .. a waste of 2 useful episodes that could have explained everything.

Yeah I know, there is a lot of.. erm... can I say "pootytang"... in Chobits... It kind of bothers me, but Chii (Elda) and Freya are so cute I can't just not read it!

I've only got up to vol.4 as I get distracted by other mangas!
It's cute all right, but it does get vaugely annoying when they spend three or four pages on Hideki freaking out because he saw Chii's nipple. >.<
I saw the first two or three episodes of the anime but I dunno, I just prefer mangas in general.

Heh heh, I agree... If they cut out even a BIT of the constant sex stuff, I would've liked Chobits a LOT more... I still love it, but it might've even been in my top five favorite manga if it weren't for that! >.< Oh well.. And I agree, I almost always prefer manga, and in Chobits' case, I prefer the manga.

there was a lot more sex stuff in Love Hina so Chobits was an improvement in that area if you ask me
But the anime was great like that scene where that persocon pushed that guy out of the way and
got hit by a truck (ep 21 i believe), that hole episode was so beautifull :noteworthy:

Bearshare ain't the greatest way to download but the downloads were pretty fast back then *don't know how it is now :confused:*

I'm loving Chobits. I've read the fist three volumes of the manga but haven't started watching the anime yet. It's good but I agree with the other posts that there's a bit too much sex. My little sister wanted to borrow them but I didn't want my baby sister reading that kind of stuff but I let her in the end because I realised that, at 16, she was old enough!

Chobits was the first manga series I completed and I'm still very fond of it ^_^ Although I'm a bit of a prude, so I was in shock when I finished the first volume. (I bought it without thinking, cuz it was CLAMP, and dad grabbed it out of my hands before I could read it :sweatdrop:Â that was embarrassing.) But the story was interesting enough to continue, especially 'cause I knew Freya was gonna show up. It's kinda funny tho' - if you look at the past, it was Elda/Chi who seemed the oldest, and in the present it's Freya who seems the oldest. Probably just me. I actually loved all characters - Sumomo was brilliant, Kotoko reminded me at Meiling from CCS but was cute anyway. (It was therefore why I was laughing out loud when I noticed Kotoko and Meiling have the same seiyuu in Japanese.) The side stories were a good read too, like Yuzuki/Minoru, Shinbo/Takako and Manager Ueda/Yumi. I love couples ^_^
But I was quite surprised to read above Dita is male o0; looking back at it, I realize he looks more male than female, but thanks to TOKYOPOP, I was so convinced it was a female... Ah well. (Dita's a persocom after all, so that doesn't make him male or female actually... )
I'm very curious to watch the anime - I watched the opening theme and it was so cute! Cuter than I thought it'd be, actually. Thanks for the youtube link given above!! (some other youtube users put a security thingy on it so that people <18 couldn't watch it, including me.)

read the manga and watched the anime... is it me or are the dubbed english voices REALLY REALLY annoying??? then again, maybe i'm just too used to watching subs. :shrugs:
I thought the ending was fairly appropriate under the circumstances. if youre gonna fall in love with a machine, then "doing the deed" isnt really going to satisfy you...
this was the 2nd manga i ever read (right after trc) and i enjoyed it immensely!
