We've had fanclubs where you can just talk or fangirl/boy over characters or couples on YnH for quite some time now and it's fun.

It could be nice for a lot of us. Altough i'm a bit worried about the fanclubs turning into a discussion between fans and nonfans (the Fai/Chii thread got locked because of that......)

That might be a good idea for (to use your example) FaiChii fans who just want to fangirl/boy over the pairing without the debate. As I said in the FaiChii board, I think the best way to go would be for any pairing threads to say in the opening post that the thread in question is indeed a board to simply fangirl/boy, not to debate the pairing, like the SyaoranxSakura and KuroxFai threads. So, yes, fanclubs are probably a good idea.

We have a seperate board on YnH for the fanclubs. So maybe we could do that here too?
Fanclubs are nice in the way that you can just talk about a character/couple without ending up having to defend the character/couple from nonfans.

That would be a good Idea, afterall some fans can be a little crazy over different pairings and what not, and that can lead to trouble in the future. I think you can go for it, and hopefully won't get shot down for it.

It sounds like a good idea. Every fandom needs a place to squee.
Fanclubs have proven to be breeding grounds for spam and things at other forums, though, such as Daybreak Forums (http://board.mysticalaura.com/index.php?board=37.0). Maybe the post counts could be turned off?

good idea. i've made 3 fanclubs for the moment but we're lacking a board or something.

Sorry for the late reply, but the quake in Taiwan (for those that know of it), has affected my ISP's services, so I've been unable to access this site all day (using a proxy from a different ISP here that takes a different route to the US at the moment).

I can see perhaps setting up a fanclub sub-forum in the 'Anything Goes' area. The only question I have...why are they posting fanclub threads in the Anime & Manga forum?

It's about anime/manga characters/couples right? that's why i posted them in anime & manga
but I couldn't restrain myself and already made 3 fanclubs in the anime & manga thread. Which was a mistake since two of them are TRC related so they should be in TRC board or something :sweatdrop:

Well, I'm the mod of the TRC General Discussions, and I have no problems with the threads being there, but I can't move something from the Anime and Manga thread since I'm not a mod there. You'll have to ask the mod of the Anime & Manga board or one of the global mods.

Though you're correct, it would be a shame to seperate the fanclub threads, hence my recommendation for a fangroup subforum. Thanks for answering my question :)

Mini banners are a good idea but i'm currently experiencing a problem with the fanclubs. I can't modify the first post after 24 hours so i can't add new members to member list when they want to be added. I'm still looking for a solution to that problem.....
