Japanese. It's just better. :DI agree.
So far it 11-0 Japanese version. Why continue this thread?!!
J-Japanese.... DEFINITELY Japanese... I'm still suffering random night terrors over the English version...
AkaiYuki sleeping: Zzzz... ^_^
JULIAN: Hey, SA-KOOOOO-RA! ^_____________^
AkaiYuki: *wakes up screaming* O.o.. *hides under covers*
Oh, and I hope I didn't insult you Yuki-chan!
Heh heh, how would that have insulted me? You didn't say anything bad!
And Fye-chan, trust us, just don't watch any more than what you have already seen... It only gets worse...
:noteworthy: Arigatou Yuki-chan!
And hai, it does get worse! Save yourself the horror! I can't stand Cardcaptors! Trust me, nothing good can come from it!
are you brave enough, strong enough, hero enough to be able to watch Cardcaptors without getting nightmares?!
if the answer is yes, YOU'RE A BIG FAT LIAR!!!!!
well i speak english so its better for me ^`_^
A loser is you!!!
You can't possibly mean that?!!
I'd have to say both.
Now before you hate me.
Hear me out, hehe.
By watching the dubbed on television...
It got me into Cardcaptor Sakura and anime in general.
And for that reason, I have to say both versions.
Yup!!You darned right,I hate the English version of it and only 2 version off CCSakura I mostly adore, the Japanese and Filipino(local version and no cut-offs)!!! :hehe: :okay:
and if there might excist someone who likes english better, he's probably killed by angry anime-fans by now, lol!
Isn't that why subtitles where created?
Actually... after watching anime with subs for so many years... It's come rather close to me not needing the subtitles at all :p
But yes.. I like the japanese better
I still prefer subtitles cause I like the Japanese voices and understand what they say! ^_^
Believe it or not, but my sister actually likes the English version better! And whenever I ask her why, her answer is, "Because I can understand what they're saying!" Unbelievable. -_-
Maybe some people like the dubbed version cause they can understand it and don't have to read subtitles.

Look what I added to my collection!!! (http://www.capturedwings.net/forums/index.php?topic=187.msg126613#msg126613)
I still stand by everything that I've posted here.
Ha! The Cardcaptors dvd covers?
Still hate the series with all my heart but what can I say? When I collect all things CCS, sometimes you have to take some of the bad with all that's good :)
I always get confused when I see a preview of the next episode of a card to catch but they never show it.
The one question I continually asked was, how did she become the Card Captor?! And I also wondered who on Earth is Clow Reed?! They didn't even explain who he was!
They didn't show the episode where Sa-KOO-Ra became a Cardcaptor until AFTER she beat Yu-A in Final Judgment. As far as Clow (rhymes with 'COW') Reed, they never did explain him in the Englsh version. Ah...the joys of a town called Reedington.
Sorry...couldn't resist writing all that down :D
Everyone hates the music. -_- No Nagging's good... I guess. I just don't like the dubbed voices in anime... Japanese is much better and kawaii! ^_^
Glad they did air it though, otherwise I wouldnt have heard it. It's true, it's a good song. Gets inside your brain *na na na na naa*
No! Don't remind me of CC music. When I heard their version of "Catch you Catch me" I almost died.

Personally I think the English version is OK, but only the Australian english version. We had all 70 episodes dubbed so it's a lot better than the American version although the voices are still the same as the American version. All the episodes were dubbed so I wonder why they didn't show them all in America?

We had all 70 episodes dubbed so it's a lot better than the American version although the voices are still the same as the American version. All the episodes were dubbed so I wonder why they didn't show them all in America?Because Kid's WB wanted the show to focus more on the action aspects of CCS in order to make another Pokemon clone. Kid's WB skipped the first seven episodes because they weren't action-packed enough and they were also centered around Sakura, but Kid's WB wanted the show to be more about Li. So, all the other episodes that didn't have a lot of action scenes in them or were about Sakura were either skipped or combined.
I may change my mind though as I've ordered the Japanese version and can't wait to watch it.
What about the others who don't know how bad the dub is? let's keep it open so if they have any questions, we'll be ready to answer.
The english version is kinda whack...hahaha.. That makes me think that all the VAs for the english were all on drugs.. a bit whack XD haha..
Nevalana was simply the wrong place to go to. They did Babar and the Magic School Bus,which is great but not the tone CLAMP would nessecary want. Time-Warner was a longshot, I have watched that network since I was in 1st grade: They always gear towards boys. Boys/little kids.Doesn't matter now anyways, it got cancelled and got replaced with X-Men Evolution. Which was even more stupid because Marvel is in competition with Time-Warner's comic book property,DC.That was replaced with Teen Titans...To the point every series has to end some time.
In Cardcaptors uncensored (http://www.cardcaptors-uncensored.com) there were some posts that reviewed Cardcaptors merchandise. When I saw those I was like:
WTF?
Hnnn... hhh... hnaaAAAAAGH! (don't klick unless you're up for some ranting)Show contentNoooo! It's horrible! No, it's even beyond that - it's nightmarish! I tried to watch the first episode of Cardcaptors on YouTube, but didn't last five minutes. What have they done! How could they?! They butchered it... I never realized to what extent until just now. Sakura's voice... her cuteness, her childishness! Tomoyo's soft-spokenness and sweetness - how could they! And, sweet holy mother of utter despair - Yukito's frikkin voice, it's horrifying! I just cried out loud when he opened his mouth. Really, I'm trembling all over. Yukito's. Frikkin. Voice.Damn you forever, Nelvana.
i never heard Yukito's voice in Cardcaptors....thank god!
I envy you >_< It's horrible!
Do you think the cast of CardCaptors ever saw the original before or during production?
I highly doubt that they did (and if they did, how on earth could they ever agree to cast Cardcraptors?!).For money and infamy?
For money and infamy?Yeah. Most of the people do that, just for the fame and money. But If I got the change to do the voices, I would make sure, that everything was kept the same. And I wouldn't be in the money or fame. I would love to do a voice of one of CLAMP works. Like come on, its CLAMP.
For money and infamy?
I have seen the Engilsh versions of "Catch Me Catch You" and "Fruits Candy" on YouTube awhile back. It was a pretty good adaptation even if they don't follow the right lyrics.
While we're speaking songs - the one with the lyrics You're the Guardian of the Cards, you're the choosen one of every boy and girl... is kinda catchy, actually. Is it used as an insert song, or is it an ending/opening theme?
The dubbed version of "Catch You Catch Me", in my opinion, is horrible. I'm Sakuura, I'm just a girl, like, and now I know, like, I've found a magic book... Come on! :dodge: Plus, the singer sings false at the higher parts (it's nothing compared to the French version of Platinum, though). I do agree, however, that the English "Fruits Candy" is ok.I never herd those in english...I just herd the little CardCaptors 45 second thing...

I still wonder why this thread is open...the choice is rather obvious.

This begs the real question though. Did they achieve either?? If anything, the only thing Cardcaptors is famous for is screwing up the most wonderful anime ever!Yes, in fact they did achieve both.
Maybe we should rename this thread 'Why Crapcaptors makes us wanna puke!!!" :DOr maybe we should unlock the original CardCaptors hate thread (http://www.capturedwings.net/forums/index.php?topic=66.0). You know, the one that immediately garnered attention and became the most popular thread in the General CCS Discussions section. You know, the one that has more posts than any other thread here. You know, the one that got locked for thread necromancy. >=(
But what just KILLS me is their names... How on Earth did the creators come up with such creepy names?
Because Avalon is the name of castle back in the old days of King Auther and the Round Table.
Nelvana tried to make some sort of link with King Auther that way there the story would be viewed more toward the child base.
This didn't work, as everyone who has seen the Japanese Version (The REAL version) knows that the story wasn't based off that, in fact, it was no where near it.
At least, thats from what I've learned anyway from other people ;)
And is it true that Tomoyo's "counterpart" in the English version (Madison) says that she BUYS the costumes for Sakura and not making it herself? If it's true, I'd really flare up. I like Tomoyo, that's why.
Well, just an anime standpoint.
CCS could be a good entrance tool for TRC (if they decide to release it there).
Kinda sad. CCS is an SS-Tier Anime. CC turned into a D-Tier Anime.
