Yep! Dan Radcliffe rocks! :keke:

I think the movies are great! But the books have more detail and information in them...so I'll say books for now.

I'd say the books. Although I do like the movies, the books are just.. better as I've discovered from reading four of them. I'll start to read the fifth one eventually.  :heh:

I love the books!  They are so much better than the movie,
There are soo many more details and the imagination has to be one of the best things there is!   And the book is true to the author.  (because she wrote it of course)
I think the movies just ruin it although I will watch them when they come out on DVD...  Because who want's to miss out in seeing Ronnie in action??

But that's just me!

I've read all 6 books so far, and I've seen only the 3 movies, but I'm going to join the hype and say the books. They explain more and allow you to understand the characters on a more personal level. The movies basically let you view the characters, but the books allow you to be the characters! A truly good book can help you to travel all over the world and you never have to leave your chair!

I'm agree with u moezy chan, the movies just help you to imagine the character while you are reading

The movies always cut the best part of the book, I totally dislike the 3rd movie because of that  it could be better
And i can't wait fot the next book  :XD:

Same here, but at the same time, I almost don't want the 7th book to come out, because once it does, the books are finished. There won't be anything after that. Much like when I was watching the last episode of CCS. I was happy to finally see the whole series, but it's all over now.

I'll say this just once:

Movies and Books are two different mediums, because of that fact they can never be identical (due to time and money constraints)

Movies are only *based*, remember that, based on the book, they use the characters and some (but not all) of the plot line.

Base point: Book turned into movie can never been totally the same.

My two cents.

Go SLi! ^^

I have mixed feelings for the 7th book too just like moezy-chan. I don't want to it come out because the series is going to end. Hence, the movies will end.
Yet I want it to come out because this is the book that will wrap everything up, and all the mysteries become clear to us.

I like books better than movies...When I saw first movie - It's was so awfull.....I didn't  like it, so I haven't see or I don't see other movies...you can imagine yourself when you read books but when you go to movies someone else have imagine his own image about Potter-story.

I agree, I prefer the books more.

Yes, the 3rd movie sort of died... :sweatdrop:
but the 5th book wasn't as good also. I wonder what parts they're going to cut out in this movie...

I have to say the books because I prefer what my imagination does than what Hollywood came up with ;) Though Alan Rickman rocks the world.

I do still like the movies - I just prefer the books :)

I love the books more. I also love the movies. I love the 3rd book, but then they wreak the movie. I hated that. My favorite book.  I cried so much on the six book.  I can't wait until the 7 book. I think I know what is going to happen.

Book 3 is also my favorite. I loved that book, but I also loved book 6, even if it was a tearjerker. I'm crying just thinking about it. I truly wonder what will happen in book 7. I want to find out, and at the same time I don't. Once it's done I'll have my finality, but then I'll wish for more. I hate that!

The books are better I think, but the movies have lots of good parts in themselves too. My friend was debating whether she should read the 7th book after the 6th movie comes out. That way you would still be wondering what's gonna happen next and you wouldn't say in your head that you know how it all ends...

The books are better, not just because of the overall stupidity in some director's cases (*ahem* Movie 3), but because no amount of special effects and CGI will ever come close to someone's imagination. Nothing can compare to your own ideas and images of a story.

That is so true Ruby Chan! Imagination is far better than seeing it one screen. And it gives you the impression that you are the character and are fighting the villian or monster or whatever evil incarnate it is.

Personally I prefer the books, although movies 3 and 4 both brought forth certain elements that I really liked.

Though I think after book 4, Harry Potter kind of lost it's charm for me. Somehow, after 4, it started getting more melodramatic and dark. I thought I'd like it if HP was a little darker, but it turns out "dark" storytelling really wasn't why I started reading HP in the first place. -_-

I still read them, of course, but I haven't been very happy with the books that have come out after Goblet of Fire. They're better-written, but they somehow have less heart.

Ehm... to me, anyway, I'm sure a lot of people out there loved them. Just not me.

I think pretty much everyone loves the books a lot more than the movies. (sweatdrop)

And... the third movie... I have a love/hate relationship with it. I hate that they cut out so many important parts of the books, like over half the backstory. The ENTIRE point of the third book, taken in the perspective of the series, is to give the backstory. And the movie cut it to the bare bones. Also,

it really annoys me that they have Harry see Peter Pettigrew on the Marauder's Map halfway through the movie. It's a big hint to the truth of the situation.
Even still, it was really good.

And I think the fourth movie was all but perfect. It's the best one yet, to me.
