The first movie never had a true title to it. Simply Card Captor Sakura: The Movie. I think. Right?
-
yeap :D
-
So why is the board here have "The Arrow Card" listed as the name for movie 1 under the topic description?
-
cause its the first (and only) card captured in the movie. but I'm pretty dead sure its just called 'Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie' (not at home but so I can't check properly)
-
Yes, you're absolutely right about the title but I wanted to mention the card in the description because I mentioned the Sealed Card too, right? besides, it's shorter...
but yes, it's only named "Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie". :)
-
O.sorry to interrupt, but is this forum using the American dubbed version of names or the Japanese version?
-
Neither becuase I remember that in Japanese version of the 1st movie is "Cardcaptor Sakura: the Movie" but in American version,if only I remembered I watched through my friend that have that in DVD was Cardcaptors: the Movie that really really makes me sleeping while awake!!! :hehe:
-

you mean in our discussions here? well, so far I haven't seen anyone mention Sakura Avalon or Li Showron. Most of us use the Japanese names anyway... :okay:
-

Yeah that name sucks. Eriol is good enough why change it?
-
Eli Moon sounds more like a weird nickname for "Ruby Moon" instead of a guy's name for Eriol.
-
I haven't heard that one before :D
-

LOL...when I first heard of the the name, I totally have the same THOUGHT. LOL.
The whole dubbing thing is so dang annoying, even though I've never watched it, I've heard much of it. *sigh* The names sounded all silly and the plot is turned upside down. How depressing.
-
don't watch it, it will crush you
-
I HATE THE AMERICAN VERSION...sorry for shouting but...i was shocked and offended when i saw it... by the time Nelvana was through with it...it was in SHREDS...omg...the PAIN...
and do u know WHY they changed the names? 'to allow american's to pronounce the names better'
anyone who uses those names or discusses THAT dubbing will be killed personally by me...phew...i get so angry...
other than that...enjoy your day :love4:
-
no,no
Admins here have first shot :muhahahahaha:
(Just kidding really, but yes, stick to the Japanese names here :D)
-
I would have to agree with you there scarecrow_wingz and I don't blame you either for shouting about it. :D
-
I still remember the days when I called it cardcaptors and the american names... :shudders at thought:
But that was long ago, now stick to japanese names! ^^
-
isn't this a bit totally off topic.. haha y dun u guys say this in the other topic.. umm about cardcaptors vs. cardcaptor sakura XD
-
Haha, I think we all have ADD here.... I look in all the topics and everybody is waaaaay off...
Well, for the most part.
But yeah, Japanese names all the way.
[shiver] Madison (blah . . . she sounds like a valley girl)
[shiver] Eli (err..no!)
[shiver] Aiden!!! (how did they get THAT out of Fujitaka?!?!?!!?!)
[double shiver] LI!!! Oh gawd! They ruined his perfect name!
:sad5:
I must go to bed and cry now.

haha, woah off topic there!!!
Hehe, I have ADD!
-
Ok. You go bed and cry. We all cry too!! :cries:
-
muahahaha *feels bad for bringing back crap memories*
1st movie was interesting i think, more plot driven than the 2nd movie which i found really angsty at some points. but yeah.... ending was good ^^
-
Yeah that name sucks. Eriol is good enough why change it?
Yikes!!!Nelvana really make me "start an inferno" w/ them.Shame on them for changing those names!!!
-
First movie sort of had more in it... yeah.
-
Some sites have the first movie listed as The Enchanted Card....
-
haha, woah off topic there!!!
Hehe, I have ADD!
Would someone care to explain what ADD means? :sweatdrop:
-
Attention Deficit Disorder

Some sites have the first movie listed as The Enchanted Card....

-

- Now back on topic
-
Attention Deficit Disorder
- shakes finger at LW :nono:
now don't look at me like that... I don't have ADD.
Honestly! :heh:
and again, back on topic... :D
-
I watched the movie and it is so awesome :noteworthy: :hello2: :okay: :rotfl: :inlove:   :tongue3:  :)
-
The second movie is shorter but in the english version the voices are so different wat's up with that  :sweatdrop: :sleepy5: :dodge:  :sad5: :shifty:  :surprised:
-
Because the first movie was done by Nelvana.
But the second movie was done by Bang Zoom! Entertainment
(I guess Nelvana decided that there was no way for them to ruin the movie so they gave the job to someone else)
-
That's nice and I hope they not do their mistakes and damages like Nelvana done!!!
-
Dunno, but they changed all the dub voices.
-
The English dub to me was much better in the second movie than the first one, which used the voice actors from the Cardcaptors series. Though the scenes weren't changed, the meanings in many of the scenes were most definitely different than the Japanese counterpart.
The official name of the first movie is "Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie"
-
Yeah. Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie. Plain and simple. Anyways, I liked it because of Sakura and the gang going to Hong Kong, seeing Madoushi (the evil sorceress who loved Clow Reed), and Syaoran's family. Oh, and did I mention the mystery? Yeah. x3
-

The second movie is actually longer than the first movie. The first movie was about 81 min. long while the second movie is 82 min. and combined with the Leave It To Kero-chan mini-movie, that makes the total length of it 92 min. And the second movie dub has different VAs becuase it was dubbed uncut by a different company from Nelbaka and they wanted to give CCS fans a chance to see what an uncut dub could've been like.
-
Nelbaka = :laughing4: :laughing4: :laughing4:
-
Yes, its peoples new name for 'that evil company'
-
Yeah!!!!I really agree with deadly meaning about that company!!! :hehe:
-
so...did they use the same seiyuus in the movies and the series? (jap versions)
-
If I remember,I watched the 1st movie in DVD in CCS(Nelbaka version)that you can choose what language you like. But I think they used the same version(You know what I mean),English version of it!!
-
yeah! the original name of the first movie is Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie
but sometimes, the fans use "Sakura in Hong Kong" because the Arrow card isn't the most important thing in that movie i think the topic of that movie is the travel to hong kong and the problems with the women (Madoshi)
-
If they have the third movie I bet sakura and li is dating already. I hope the third movie is about eriol and tomoyo don't you agree with me that they look cute together :angel4:
-
o.o Well my dad likes a lot more the cardcaptors movie version o.o''...yup, he's crazy XDD
But I love the original japanese version ^-^-
