Okay...that really made me do a spit take on my keyboard LOL!!! :D
-
England is IN Great Britain, So that makes no sense whatsoever, lol.
Obviously =P but to specify the difference... it's like saying they have the same flag.
-
Obviously =P but to specify the difference... it's like saying they have the same flag.
Then you'd be saying the Flag for Great Britain and the United Kingdom are the same XD
England is part of Great Britain and United Kingdom. UK is more commonly used than GB anyway, lol.
Okay...that really made me do a spit take on my keyboard LOL!!! :D
eh?
-
That's just my opinion. I speak mostly English (AMERICA!) but I know some Chinese and I learn some Japanese words from anime. ^_^
-
Ah I See. You did it to what Languages you can speak!
Not Nationalities, lol.

Then you'd be saying the Flag for Great Britain and the United Kingdom are the same XD

eh?
Are you sure you are from UK? :P they have different flags =) search them... english flag, british flag, are different and I'm not saying with that, that they are in differente places xD :keke:

Let's not begin to question the nationalities of members here.

Let Me Show You:
Then you'd be saying the Flag for Great Britain and the United Kingdom are the same XD

"Then you'd be saying the Flag for Great Britain and the United Kingdom are the same"
The FACT IS that Great Britain and United Kingdom DO have the same flag.
"England is part[/i] of Great Britain and United Kingdom."
the FACT IS that England IS Part of Great Britain and the United Kingdom.
Did I say they have the same flag? ....no.
Read what I Said AGAIN.
Great Britain and United Kingdom are the same and both have the same flag.
England is IN[/i][/u] Great Britain and United Kingdom. But have One Section of the flag.
SO HENCE:
Why would there be a difference between British and English when they are both IN THE SAME PLACE.
Please... Re-read what people write more often before you criticize thier nationality or jump to elusive conclusions based on "what my mate told me" because quite frankly... It's wrong.
and because you don't know flags too well then, Let me show you.
Great Britain and United Kingdom Flag: (http://decorateyourgarage.com/store/images/united_kingdom.jpg)
England Flag: (http://vari.blogs.com/blog/images/english.flag.gif)
The Flag for England is the Red Cross (Red line going up and down).
The same Red Cross (Red line going up and down) Is in the Great Britain and United Kingdom Flag.
Now I'm irritated I would go off on how annoying I find Americans calling thier language English after butchering it up with misspellings and misinterpretations, then calling it thier own language... But we'll leave that for another day...
Note: Don't ever question an Englishman's nationality.
-
Thanks for straightening things out, VexNet.
:D

Hmm, and I suppose your spelling and punctuation in that paragraph is flawless?
Also, since when did America claim English was its own language? If that were so, we Americans would probably just call the language "American" instead of "English"...
You really don't need to go insulting Americans for no reason, VexNet. One American making a mistake doesn't make us all stupid. Besides, was the person questioning your knowledge of your country's flag even American? :dodge:

I tried to make my post with few spelling mistakes BUT I'M ******* STUPID AREN'T I AKAIYUKI!? That's how the hell everyone on this from thinks of me anyway (at least the way people have been acting lately anyway)
I never said they were american, Reread my post if you want. I was just explaining a point.
It's kind of obvious they made it thier own language. When I was posting on forums before EVERYTIME I asked if they had seen the English version of a show they would say something like "You mean they redubbed/subbed it for england too??"
I didn't Insult Americans either. It's a FACT that Americans have misspelt the words. I also know that they plan on taking another letter out of a word because it's too much effort to write the Whole word.
so by your post your saying that Americans didn't take the language for thier own? ... interesting...

I didn't see anything wrong with Vexnet's answering the question and no intentional insults were used. My suggestion is to stop trying to stir things up here, AkaiYuki, especially since you were NOT part of the conversation to start with. I consider the topic of the British Flag closed. Trust me when I say I'm the last person you want to piss off here and we'll leave it at that.
Homer: "Besides, we saved your @$$ in WW2."
Hugh: "And we saved yours in World War 3!"
D-oh!!! :D

Heh. I wouldn't wish that version on my worst enemy :D

You guess our ingenius plot!!! Taking out that pesky 'U' out of words like color was only the beginning. It was the American's ability to do such that led to the creation of text messaging. Now you know the truly hideous story on the whole thing!!!
-

Oh man, this made me laugh. My brother is the same with Mexiacn and Spa(i)nish versions of Spanish, because he lived in Spain for a while, and now whenever people speak the Mexican version (there are names for the two versions, I just don't remember what they are) he kind twitches.
Personally, I'm sad we took the "u" out of things. Words like colour anf favourite look better that way.
Of course, I grew up reading British books, and so didn't find out I was spelling them "wrong" (in the American view) until about fifth grade.
I was really surprised.
As for my heritage, I'm Norwegian, Swedish, and German...kind of. I would call myself mostly German, but my German ancestors kind of adopted a gypsy-esque lifestyle, and so traveld Europe and slept with everyone and now we kind of are Mutts, a little bit of everything.
Whatever we are, Hitler didn't like us much. o.0
Haha, I'll just go with American.
-
Ecuadorian, Hundras(dont know how to spell hundrana??) and American i think:)

I'm pretty sure I'm all Chinese...Cantonese if you want to be esact =P

but i'm FULL korean!!
-
I consider myself Filipino, but the nationalities in my background include Chinese (12.5%) and Spanish (12.5%).
I was born and live in California too, but it doesn't have anything to do with my background, really. ^^
-
(still get a kick out of the title of this thread...)

African american and a little bit native american...
-
Hmm... I'm pretty much 100% white European. Actually, some of my ancestors came over on the Mayflower, so I definitely have British blood; I also have German and Irish (my great-great-grandmother came over to America to escape the Potato Famine.) Gah, I'm just a regular ole WASP, aren't I?
-
African american and a little bit native american...
Man I envy you as far as scholarship obtaining goes...that is pretty nice combiniation...::sigh::
High five on it being a very pretty sounding combiniation as well (I have a friend who is Tongan, and his wife is African American, and they're kids are soo pretty...)
