Maybe we should talk about J-POP...since i think at least a couple of ppl enjoy Jpop in here XD so maybe we'll start a thread or something!!!!
So who likes Utada Hikaru? or listens to have songs???? do comment!!!!

neeywayz, morning musume is a bunch of 15-20 sth 'teen gurls' in Japan who r pretty popular and they got this generation thing each year..haha. And there's this other group call Berryz Kobou too (sp?) which ranged from age 10-13 haha sounds totally scary.
And Maaya...oh god love her since CCS third opening, and in wolf's rain and in Tsubasa. XD

Tami Namaki! I love "daitan ni ikimashou" :lol: and all her gundam seed songs... I like Realize!
Maaya Sakamoto is great as well. I love Gravity, Purachina and of course Loop! :D
Also, I like Asian Kung-Fu Generation and Flow... yeah, rock bands. :headbang:

*nods at the Tami Namaki comment* Absolutely agree!!!! And she is ONLY 16 in that MV. I was so amazed with her singing potential and talent! She totally ROX. The MV was totally worth watching.

^^ Thanks a lot. Thats a very nice present from you ^^ O,also the "older" bands are very nice too. I especially love SMAP 's songs. I really like their song Seikai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana ^^ The whole single is very nice. Their last concert MIJ 2003 was definately was very good one. ^^

umm i haven't seen the Reason video.. which is sad.. i got this live thingy of Gundam Seed Destiny though.. i'm sorry to say.. that Tamaki Nami's live version of Reason was poor.. *sigh.. but TM Revolution rocked.. High and Mighty Color was ok..

Gundam Seed Destiny's Pride and Life goes on is really good rite now.. at first i didn't like Life goes on but now it's so good.. XD!! although i prefer REASON all the way!!!!!
u no who else is a good singer and i have started to fall in luv wit her just a few days ago.. IWAO JUNKO!!! tomoyo's voice person.. her voice is really nice and have been listening to her songs all weekend.. b4.. thks to my special clamp thingy.. hehe
again wit Tamaki Nami.. she's started singing wen she was 14 and she totally rocks now.. all her Gundam seed songs were all ranked top 5 i think.. hmm.. oo Reason ranked 2nd there we go.. well i'll go listen to Reason now... *starts singing and dancing..

Well, I saw that subbed version of the the live Gundam SEED Music as well. Tamaki is still too inexperienced for live, and yes that was a poor performance. I think thats because she sand the remixed version of the song. You can see the tempo is dead slow, and also Tamaki always sing fast tempo songs, and never did a very good job in slow ones.
Well, talking about PRIDE and Life Goes On, a lot of people say its still second comepared to Ignited. And truly, TMR is still a better compared to all of them, and we can see that from the live performance. ^^ Also, TMR does the v-o for the Heine Westerfluss^^His voice is so cool^^. Unfortunately, he was "killed" maybe, cuz this Heien character was just there to give TMR a "present" for doing the 1st attack of the GSD.
I see that you hear a lot of GSD, but how about GS? Many say that atm, GS's music is better than GSD. I especailly like Akatsuki no Kuruma from the special ending. I think its really cool, especially the sunset theme set by the singer. Also, Tanaka Rie sang two more image songs. Both were very good ^^.
As for the ratings, Tamaki Nami's were on Oricon, and most were above No. 5. The best was Reason, No. 2, which was just a bit lower than TRM's Ignited No.1. But the remixes of Tamaki Nami's songs were only on No.9, which was a lower rating compared to most of the GS songs.

YEA YEA!! i like akatsuki no kuruma.. hehe GS is the thing that got me into GSD.. XD it's cool.. i really like lacus' song too.. but i still like her new song from GSD..
tamaki nami's remixes aren't that good.. and yea i agree the song version of reason she sang live wasn't good. all her songs are umm probably more lively because they're all dancing songs. XD
TMR.. wah.. it was sad wen heine died.. i liked him too.. he was funny. it wasn't until after i heard his interview on the GSD music thingy that i new he did the voice.. haha.. i also heard that he did a voice on GS too.. and he also died.. LOLZZ!! apparently they didn't want him to do a character for very long..
ignite was the best song from GSD i believe.. haha.. heard it was a really big hit.. my frewn said that TMR was dead but GS and GSD brought him bak to life.. in a way.. i liked his other songs that he sang for GS.. and it was in epi 23 for GSD too.. i was like OMG METEOR!! yea.. i liked his meteor and zips song.. zips is from the special.. i believe the 2nd one.. yea.. they were really good songs too.. XD

YAY ^^ Someone with a similar interest ^^ I believe that Tanaka Rie has done a good job in doing the Lacus's image songs. But recently, sh did a "pop" version of shizuka no yoru ni, and it was well...not bad...only average. The idea of Meer Campbell singing is just awful ( no offence ahem). Akatuski no Kuruma ( the dawn;s carriage) was by far my favourite. It went on really well along with the speical GS episode and the ending. Too bad I dunno how to make a nice sig, or else i'll use the SS >.<

for the pop version "shizuka no yoru ni" is as scary as meer, really, i fell over my chair when i saw the concert wif her prancing on the *ekkkk* bright pink (!!) zaku warrior....*my eyes!! they burn!!!* ahh...i'm way over my head, but the pop version and the meaning of the song that was brought out in the lyrics dont sync imo...

the ending theme for inuyasha movie 1 was great~~really soothing~~ i like the shichinintai saga's opening "grip" and the last opening "angelus", well, thats juz me~~heee~~i'm waiting *quite anxiously now...* for movie 4 to be out in dvd in japan, so fansubbers and work on it~~i trust it'll be soon :D

inuyasha 3rd movie is bout inuyasha & sesshoumaru's father's swords, movie 4 is bout and island where there lived hanyou children or something like that, rakuen is the theme song for movie 4 and the guitar strums are quite nice~

umm it aires at 6 rite in jap so it should air like 6 druing morning for us or sumthing.. i'm not sure.. but then it also takes around a day for the RAW the come out onto the websites..

Hhaa, actually he did. The emulator he had on the computer had a few virus' on it and the computer is totally ruined now. We're stuck until we can get a new one (which will be never)

i use bittorrent in every dl....i used kazaa before but as u said, spywares, in fact, i got a virus which slowed my com down very badly... :P

you r so lucky, you got a friend who also search on the internet for you~ :P i DIY and am the brain-center for borrowing/copying of vcds, dvds, osts for my cousins~~ :P but i dont copy fr legal stuffs like original ps2 games, only what i get fr the internet here and there :D i also got gundam seed ost burned, almost all of em that is~i got OSTS 1-3 i dint get 4 *sigh*~ but what i like best is the complete best, its really complete best~!

Well, I LOVE Do As Infinity and Orange Range, but I like almost all J-pop/J-rock...Mourning Musune is good too...It's harder to get music when you don't have BT, so all of you J-pop lovers who don't have BT can ask me if I have stuffs, and if i do, I'll give it to you!!!! Megumi Ogata.- I love this woman!!! her voice is so wide ranged!!!! :noteworthy: I worship her! xD especially since I fell in love with Shuuichi Minamino AKA Kurama xD and searched like crazy for all of his songs xD now I can't live without them... i would like to find Yukito/Yue's songs as well... does any of you know where I can get some?
And when she does Haruka! (Haaruka Tenou-Sailor moon) xD ITS SO COOL! xD I cant help but LOVE this woman!!! she's my favorite seiyuu and singer!!!!!! :lol:
Niiyama Shiho.- (may she rest in peace :cry:) the magnificent woman who did Seiya Kou in Sailor Stars... ahhh, I love her voice as Seiya-chan.... :inlove: and I listened to other songs by her, and they are so cool!!!! xD I love this woman as well!!!!

I actually find most of my j-pop from my animes, especially new ones. Samurai Champloos OST is pure gold, I tried to order one but it was sold out on the first day, they had so many good songs there ^^

Reviving this topic... can't believe I haven't posted here... I'm a huge Jpop fan. 13 GB and counting so far, plus stuff on CDs... :sweatdrop: A few of my favorite artists would be:
Bonnie Pink - I just love her soulful style... her older soul stuff and her more recent pop-ish stuff. Plus writes a lot of her songs in English. Favorite song: Tonight the Night
Onitsuka Chihiro - l love this woman's voice, so expressive, as are her lyrics... and the piano and orchestral accompiament is so beautiful. Favorite song: Infection - such a haunting, beautifully depressing song about being in love ^^;;
Gackt - Ha... this guy's awesome. He's such a pretty and dainty looking guy and then he opens his mouth and this deep, sexy voice comes out. :lol: Of course, I love his songs, too. :sweatdrop: Favorite song: seki rei
L'arc~en~Ciel - They're classics. Who doesn't love them? I really like Hyde's solo stuff, too. Favorite song: Driver's High
Kawabe Chieco - So I usually don't go for the cutesy pop chicks, but I've followed Chieco-chan since she was in the Sailormoon Musicals, and she's really grown... her voice has become really strong, and I like listening to her whenever I'm in the mood for something cute and peppy. Favorite song: brilliance
Rie Fu - I was listening to her in the car and my sister said she sounded like Japanese country. <__< Rie Fu has a nice easy acoustic style, and I like her lyrics lots (she writes a lot of English, too). Plus she paints her own album covers! Favorite song: Somebody's World or Life is Like a Boat
LADYBUG - A new group, and WAY underapprieciated. They have such a beautiful, harmonic rock sound. I can listen to their CD over and over in the car. Favorite song: FLASH or Koe or Ame (can't decide!)
Orange Range - These guys are awesome. I don't even know what to classify them as. Their songs are always unique, and Iove when they throw in crazy or funny stuff. ^^ Favorite song: michishirube ~a road home~
m-flo - Okay, this is all my friend's fault. I'm not a rap person, but m-flo is cool, and I like the way they've been doing all kinds of collabs with famous artists recently. Favorite song: Dopamine (awesome video!)
Utada Hikaru - Sometimes I love her and I hate her. o_O Her voice isn't the strongest, but she's got some great songs. Despite what a lot of people think, her English CD is really starting to grow on me and I like it. Favorite song: First Love or Kremlin Dusk
SweetS - Super-cute girl group, and unlike Morning Musume, they can actually sing. :sweatdrop: Favorite song: Lolita*Strawberry in Summer
Other artists I like are - Core of Soul, Janne D'arc, Takui, Crystal Kay, Bump of Chicken, Love Pyschedelico, Spitz, Do As Infinity, Katayama Sayuri, Tsubaki, Sowelu, DOUBLE, w-inds, Takahashi Mariko, Okui Masami, Auichi Rina, Ogata Megumi.... and probably more. ^___^;;

Anyway one of my favourite artist will have to be Tokyo Jihen", my brother has got their first album and I totally loved it ^^, also this is Ringo Shiina's new band, so all you Ringo Shiina fans must love Tokyo Jihen.
I also like Namie Amuro because her songs are great and catchy, Kodi Kumi because after listening to her album called "Secrets" I fell in love with it lol. Gackt[/b[ and HAL is great too

You got to check out Tokyo Jihen if you really love Ringo Shiina because she is the lead singer of this great band.
Tokyo Jihen are fairly recent and they only released one album and about 2/3 singles.
Damn! all that time I was wondering "why hasn't Ringo-san release anything new recently", but I heard via my brothers friend that she joined a new band. I really miss solo Ringo, but she definitely rocks with her new band so that cheered me up ^_^

Hmm for me I like Maaya Sakamoto, Chihiro Onitsuka, Mika Nakashim and Akino Arai. I like how each of them has their own unique voice.
As for groups, I'd have to go with The Brilliant Green (whom aren't together anymore more but the lead singer is now performs as Tommy February6), Day After Tommor (their disbanded too) and Do As Infinity (whom also are disbanded =( ). Oh and I'm kind of starting to dig the Indigo.
Then there's Asian Kung-Fu Generation. They're not really Jpop, more Jrock though.
And last FictionJunction YUUKA. Love the new cd from them. But I think I like them because Yuki Kajiura is behind the project and I quite like Yuuka Nanri's voice.

I'm a fan of Brilliant Green and Tommy, too. Lately I'm addicted to her "Lonely in Gorgeous", the ParaKiss anime theme.
B'z are disbanded too, aren't they? Or at least I know they've been around for a while. I didn't realize at first the single I found from Inaba Koshi was from the lead singer of B'z. ^^;; I kind of like those solo songs better than the bands, although the few B'z songs I have are pretty old, I think. ("Home", "Negai", "Calling"...) "Negai" is pretty cool.
I can't get attached to Asian Kung-fu Generation, though, even though I have a whole ton of their songs. I don't know what it is... maybe its not 'melodic' enough for my tastes. Or the fact that I always tend to skip them on my playlist. ^^;; "Rewrite" is fun to sing to, though, especially the chorus.
Yoko Konno... she's a genius. I love Cowboy Bebop music. ^__^

Koda Kumi is really good! She sings 1000 words for Final Fantasy X-2 in japanese of course.
Utada Hikaru is really good too. I'm listening to her again! ^__^ She sings Kingdom Heart Themes. (one and two)
YUI is another good singer! ^__^ Her voice might be a bit baby-ish but she's really good!! ^__^

I'm now listening to Move. Although I don't like the female voice, their songs are so catchy!!! The same goes for the op/ed from Bleach. I've listened to UVERwolrld because of Bleach and I like that song too, it's also very catchy!!! What else... the op/ed from Fruits Basket and Pita Ten are really nice too... AH! and the ones from Paradise Kiss too!!!

They're great, even my brother thinks so....(He doesn't care too much for any type of music) I also like Utada Hikaru, Maaya Sakamoto, BoA, Do as Infinity, and a whole bunch more!
