PLANT Colony - January 9th, ZAFT Military Refueling Depot
A subtle breeze blew across the parade grounds of the Zaft Military Base located on January 9th, a newly constructed PLANT built to replace the January lost during the war. Equiped with special 'blast doors' to help prevent such an attack from causing wide spread damage, it was effectively difficult to bisect this colony.
On the Parade Grounds, a young boy in his middle teen's watched as ZAFT Mobile Suits made their daily patrols. Two of the suits glanced his way, but then returned to patroling.
"How much longer?" The teenager said into a hidden mic. As he listend to someone on the other end his attention shifted to several large fuel tanks in the distance. Each tank carried enough fuel to keep the Zaft ships active for months.
With a cursory nod he stuffed his hands into his pocket and headed off into the hanger bay. Inside he meet a mechanic who thumped him toward an elevator, while he ascended through the depot his mind raced with many concerns: Will this work? What will happen? And will this mark the beginning of the new war.
The Elevator stopped and he disembarked, then took a flight of stairs down into a hidden section of the base. There he found a young girl, somewhere in her early teens, coming out of a vent shaft. "It's done Kiten," the girl said.
Kiten smiled and helped her out of the shaft. "Great Sakura, now let's board the Majesty and get going," he said. They made their way down the corridor until they came to a set of airlock doors. Sealing up their uniforms and making sure htey had freeze oxygen, they cycled through the airlock until it opened. They were on the bottom of the colony, below them for some distance was a ZAFT patrol vessel.
They floated in space until they came across a mobile suit that was attached magnetically to the colony. It's cockpit doors opened, they boarded. Kiten ran a check list of the mobile suits systems, then checked his mission clock. "One hour to go, before the whole world knows who we are,"
"Let's just hope the other group is doing their job setting up explosives on the Earth Alliance station," Sakura said as she ran her own checklist ."Everything's clear back here," she added
He nodded. "Great, let's hold off just a few more minutes," he said. The girl nodded and pressed her back against her seat, then closed her eyes to get at least a couple seconsd of rest.
