Maybe someone can give me an idea, so I thought I'd post this.
I'm having problems playing avi files on my computer. The video lags and gets disconnected with the sound, which makes things very annoying to watch. <__< I've deleted and defragged and I have more than enough memory on my computer. I've tried reinstalling Divx. And it only does this with avi files. Wmv, mpg, anything else will play just fine. I would reinstall Windows Media Player, but it does this in every player I try, so I don't think that's the problem.
Any suggestions? :sweatdrop: :sweatdrop:

i had the same lag problems and sound problems but i now use media player classic and it works fine, maybe you could try that one?

Try to reinstall Windows Media Player. Maybe your version is old. When it lags, does it say that there are certain codecs you need to download?

Hmm.. thanks, I'll try that. I haven't deleted anything as far as I know and my codecs have always worked fine... that's why it's weird. Oh well... :sweatdrop:

Yeah that sometimes happens to me. Once I started downloading avi's it said that I need like a Xvid5 codec or something..

Then you need to install DivX since the video must be DivX (http://www.divx.com)encoded.
