Title: Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z [subs are back!!]
Post by: Sailor Yue-chan on July 05 2006, 07:15 pm: Its the anime version of the PowerPuff girls! im DLing the sub right now so i cant say anything abotu the show itself, but on ANN they got the cast. They still fight Mojojojo, and im only gueesing that "Peach" is Princess.

acording to ANN its a tad more violent and its got mild bad language XD

mojojojo is a giant O_O, the rest of the villains just look like anime versions, INCLUDING the powerpuff boys! XD even HIM is there too.
princess( looks the wierdest tho. here eyes @_@

EDIT: i just wathed the first ep,..the origins of the girls powers(and mojojojo) is more realistic than ithe original PPG

The first PPG was actually quite good. It sparkled with originality.

The premise of PPGZ sounds kinda normal, and easily compares to other sentai mahou shoujo: girls suddenly get powers due to some strange event (usually involved with fate, destiny, or being the Chosen One™; but I see this one's got something different), then go through a meticulously detailed transformation scene to initiate their powers. With each day comes a new villain, or one we've seen before with some worthless plan B ready to get his butt kicked again. Don't they ever learn? =P

I'm not entirely disappointed; the character designs are nice, the animation can be good-looking at times, and the idea is a fresh play on the original for any veteran fans. But it's just missing a lot of what made Craig McCracken's PPG so good.

This version is a little... eh, too ambitious. The music is techno-hiphoppy weirdness (as in, no attractive beat, no recognizable melody), the girls flail their arms and legs around a lot when they transform, and the voices... well, I like the original voices better. If Japan could have procured some soundalikes, I probably would be happier.

If this is their idea of revenge for what we did to CardCaptors, they're doing a heck of a good job.

Also: it's "Rowdyruff Boys".

mojojojo's funny. he's an evil mutant monkey with a massive sweet tooth XD (stealing candy from kidnergatners, eating sherbet with the girls right in the middle of the fight) :P

I mean, I love the original PPG. I'm a closet fan (not anymore) and I think the show is really fun to watch...but it's kinda annoying that it's made into an anime for me, because I think it should've stayed an American cartoon...I mean...we don't remake an anime so it's in American cartoon style (possibly because it'd be way too much work...)...

...but at the same time, we tend to slaughter anime on the occasion. (Read my lips: ONE. PIECE.) so I suppose if this turns out bad it's justifiable. >>

Buttercup's hair looks awesome though.

Who knows? Maybe I'll see it and like it, but right now...that's what I think.

The One Piece dub makes me cry inside. Sanji sounds like he's dying. Of a throat disease. Except how could that be possible, since he gave up cigarettes for lollipops?

But otherwise, I agree with the original being much better. I used to love PPG, it was funny (to me) and wasn't overly girly. It was very original, especially for the type of shows you get here. PPG was awesome the way it was, I think dubbing in Japanese it might have been sufficiant.

Then again, look at all the animes we've slaughtered (eeeh... I guess I'm not American so I can't say 'we', but I think Canadian dubs probably screwed up somewhere, seeing as it's rare to find a good, quality dub.) and it's not as bad in the long run as... well, One Piece for example, which was pretty much raped by 4Kids.

WAIT A MINUTE! Their transformation sequence looks like the one from Kamen Rider Ryuki! (the part with the belt, that is.) And then they have ice cream in the middle of the fight with Mojo Jojo. Just a random thought XD.

i dont really like the OP. sure the song sounds great but the lyrics "If i cry, it will cause more tears" "Dont cry, show me your lovely smile", being a major fai-fangirl, and such, i dont like its message

yup. its still Mojojojo. the anyong thing he does inthe anime is he sais "mojo" or "jojo" (i forgot ^^) at the end of every other sentence, thats all. ^^

also, in 2 weeks time we see 2 new villains! Fuzy Lumpikns and Princess (HImeko)

i really want to see fuzzy. in the "toon he had a drawling southern hick accent...im wondering how do they make his voice in the anime?

aparently mojojojo really is his reguar height from the cartoon. he just wears the giant cloak and uses something to make him taller and more intimidating.

next episode has Fuzzy Lumpkins (banjo included!) and Princess

fuzzy retains his "my teretory" persona. he's claining evefry place, every thing belogns to him XD (sorta reminsent of the PPG pilot, where fuzzy turned everyone into meat so he can rule townsville

as for Princess, her full name is shirogane himeko, which literaly means Silver princess/princess silver shirogane also means platinum, and both silver and shirogane are worth alot, so it wokrs XD
she also retains her jealousy of the PPG she doesnt jut WANT tp be a heroine, she wants all the attention to her self. (she has 2 forms as well. the pink pigtails with starry eyes, and firey red hair with manic yellow eyes O_o

also, remember in the original cartoon, that evil white cat who took over the professor? he too got hit by black chemical z ath te same time as princess was! i expect to see him do something evil soon too :D

one more thing...they are ACTUALY planning on putting the ameoba boys...wouldnt have expected that one...wouldnt it seems quite strange to see 3 single selled organizims the size of a person walking(?) around town O_o

Their names are Laady (pink) Poncho (cowbloy hat) and Silk Hat(the one in the top hat, being the leider)[he also looks EXAACTLY like the little one in the original, tho their roles are reversed.

they also seem to say "nume" alot. (not sure of spelling, but that sound always comes at the end of their sentence.)

Episode 8 has sedusa, and its a "full" type episode. she seems to be a normal frienly human woamn who was hit by a black light. she's also an EX of the mayors :P

Post by: Sailor Yue-chan on September 07 2006, 06:42 pm: episode 9: the PPG get new transformation. the first solo henshin we see is Buttercup. i LOVE her solo music! punky rock and stuff. in the second haf fuzzy kidnapps mrs bellums..he sings at the vefry beginiog of the second half. the VA is UITE talented. after i watch the ep ill make a RIP of it.
he sang 3 times during the ep...i made a rip of the first part cuz it doesnt have any dialogue thru it (save for miss belums giggling) Fuzzy Sings (http://www.sendspace.com/file/wv74qv) it really IS a beautiful song too
