How did manga/anime come into your life?
cloud:
me i got it from my friend 3-years ago with shonen jump
Shinigami Zero:
My friend's older brother gave me fansubs back when I was a wee little 7-year old. I was hooked.
Sugar Fairy:
Ani - I got started with sailormoon as well!
I remember watching dubbed Sailormoon, and my sister and I were making fun of it since the voice acting was AWFUL. The voices were all pitched WAYY too high, it was really awful!! All the voice actors (except for Mamoru) were screeching.
buuut, we got hooked on the story anyway, and just kept the volume down to protect our ears. :D
And that was... lemme think, around 10 years ago..
Cardcaptor Takato:
I found out about anime through Sailor Moon. I first saw it when I was on vacation in the Gulf Shores one year but I didn't know what it was at the time. All I knew was that it was the strangest cartoon I had ever seen in my life. Eventually I forgot about it later on in the day (I had watched it on the TV in the hotel room early in the morning while waiting to leave) until a summer later when USA Network started airing some TV show called Sailor Moon. Out of curiosity, I checked out the first episode the day it premiered and was hooked ever since. Eventually I realized that this was the weird show I had watched a year ago on vacation, so I did a search on the Internet for Sailor Moon and discovered it was Japanese animation. I eventually learned about all the differences between the dub and Japanese version, then I started watching the original. I also started watching other anime and collecting manga and I've been hooked ever since. It's been eight years since then now.
Jas-chan:
My older cousins gve me the first volume of CCS out of the blue on my 10th birthday, and after changing schools , I saw some other girl reading manga, and we started reccomending other anime and manga to each other...
I love reading manga but my parents aren't that happy about it, for some reason
