Pikari:
Kurogane's back tingled at the intimate touch, like magic running down his spine. He jumped up from his seat on the bed immediately. "That doesn't mean you can do THAT!" he roared defensively, although he couldn't help noticing Fai's smile... a real smile, something he hadn't seen before.

Sakaki:
"Gomen ne, Kuro-sama.....don't leave," Fai replied, still smiling. "I didn't mean to.....I..." the wizard's sentence broke off as he found himself at a loss for words, wondering just how he could explain the urge he'd suddenly had to reach out and touch the ninja like that.
Finally giving up, he just stared at the man with his wide, blue eyes....still smiling that smile...and whispered, "Arigatou, Kurogane. No one has ever held me like that before....."

Pikari:
Expecting some kind of lighthearted, teasing response like he always did, Kurogane was floored with the wizard's serious words and sudden inability to put together a complete sentence, and then even more so with his next words. Arigatou, Kurogane. In all the time they'd been travelling together, he'd never heard Fai speak his full name.

"Fai..." He found his speech had left him as well, and for moment Kurogane just wanted to take him in his arms and show him what it really meant to be held. But in seconds his pride and stubbornness had told him how ridiculous an idea that was. He stood in silence for several long moments, and then, not knowing what else to say, began to turn away...

Sakaki:
"Fai..."

Hearing that one word spoken from the ninja's lips, Fai gave a small gasp, then bit his lower lip thoughtfully as Kurogane began to turn away......
He desperately wanted him to stay, wanted to just be near him.....needed some sort of companionship.....for once... He tried to tell him.....tried to once again find the right words to say that wouldn't anger or embarrass the man...but not knowing what to do, he simply lay there as the ninja began to walk away........
Then desperate......he whispered softly..and somewhat sadly.. "Please don't go...please...."

Pikari:
He reached the door, and heard a soft voice behind him... Please don't go...please....

On a sudden impulse... he turned around, closed the distance to the bed, and threw his arms around the wizard, pulling him in tight as if he would never let go. "Figured I should do it right," he muttered softly. "Carrying an injured person doesn't count."

Damn his pride, damn his sanity, he just wanted to hold the other man, to see that smile again...
