That's not quite the case. Teachers purposely do it in order to help with emergent self-esteem. If you can bring yourself to talk in front of others it helps you gain confidence and when you get confidence your grades improve. I hate it, but it's vital.

I never did think of it that way. Sudbury is known for its education. But, we also known for our bad teens. I always get suck into the wrost classes. Last semester, none of my friends were in my class. I felt really bad.
*note, not for young children.*
 Show contentThe people in my class, were the smokers (not cigs but weed and stuff), and their was also some druges too. There also was some girls that didn't like me because I'm not really into the whole make sure my hair is perfect, makeup, and clothing (lets say they had over $200 worth of clothing on them). I never got along with them. So, then my teacher kept paring them up with me. Lets just say it wasn't my best class.
But then I had other classes that went well. I did met new firends because of the teacher paring me up with them and all. But I did tell the teacher beforehand that I didn't feel comforable in front of them. So I always try to do my presenation on firday when they skip, so I wouldn't have to do it infront of them.

I mean, I have to agree with moezy-chan on how the teachers HAVE to have you do at least a FEW things in front of the class regardless of whether the class contains your friends or not because in the real world you aren't always going to be only in front of your friends when speaking in front of a group.

But at the same time, if you're really having problems with these kids, I can understand why you'd be upset and I'm very sorry about that. A similar thing happened with me in my communication skills class in my freshman year of high school ((at least 2/3 of the class did SOME kind of drug)) but for whatever reason, I got the courage to not only do my presentation in front of them, but I did it on drug use amongst teenagers!! XD

I was scared some of them were going to beat me up after school, but instead some of them started crying! O.O It was the strangest experience of my life.... o.o
