My mom and dad taught me from a very young age to try to be excellent in everything I do....When I was 7 once, I went to school not feeling good, and got a C+ on a test...O.o I got no tv and no video games for a month! Plus, I missed my best friend's birthday party... I told my mom and Dad (when I was 10) I''m not perfect and got grounded for a year... ><; My parents are so strict(mostly Dad), they never listen to me, and tell me, When I grow up, then I can do what i want to do...>< I hate my life, if I could trade places with another kid right now, I would...

Wow that is strict. My mom doesn't really care, but my dad does. when I was in grade 6, I did very bad. My dad didn't yell, instead he had that disapointed look. I hate that look. It drives me up the wall. He always cared, and spend more time with my brothers more then me. Even my whole family. I'm the black sheep of the family. I love computers, anime, manga. they all think its weired.
Hikari B.:
Apparently a theory I heard:
Back then when parents took school, a C would be a bad grade. Even though C's now are good, parents might get mad because they could remember the time when they were little and C was bad.
We made this up at school:
A C for good people, C would stand for Cool.
A C for bad people, C would stand for Crap.
^^

Same here...When I told my parents, when we went to Japan for 3 years that I liked anime and manga and would like to buy some, they stared at me for 10 whole minutes... I kinda blushed and asked again so I conviced mom to buy me one...
(It was Pokemon) but when we came back to the states, someone stole it...

My dad is fun loving, but at the same time says, "howcome you don't get honors?" or, "you have to work very hard to be like your sisters!" it gets irritating. Why shouldn't I be myself? Everybody can't be the same >.< My mom is encouraging, but at the same time keeps repeating what I need to improve. Everytime I bring home a paper that's 88% or something, she's proud, but says, "you need to boost that participation mark up". She brings my weaknesses up everytime I talk about school! She manages to fit "you should work on your participation" into every conversation we have! My parents are like that... I'm tired of hearing what I need to improve on or do. >_<

I hate when they do that. It drives me up the wall. when I bring home a test, and I'm very happy about it, they tell me to improve. I want to yell! How come they can't be just happy what I got. Ya, I know I have to improve a bit, but I have. A couple of years ago, I was really bad in school. I was failing classes, and I didn't care. But my step mom told me that I have to start putting more effect into my education. So I started doing that. I came from a failing mark to a b+. And they still say I should do better. but to me, this is my level.
