The Girl Thread (New Poll as of May 24th!)

1) Don't expect every job to hire you. If you get too confident, you won't get the position.
2) Make sure to be precise on the application form. List all information about yourself; ex: social security no.
3) If you're a minor (under 18 years old) get a work consent form from your school; they won't let you work without one. Also get your parents permission first.
4) Once you get the interview, make sure to dress professionally; in fact, if you take the application home and bring it back, they may give you the interview at that moment. No jeans, no sleeveless tops; and ladies, no really revealing tops or very short skirts.
4a) Most importantly, bring your vital information with you; birth certificate; social security card; state ID (if you live in America) and if you don't have a state ID, GET ONE! That is extremely important. They won't hire you without one.
5) During the interview, make sure not to have your cell phone turned on; maintain eye contact; try to speak without getting nervous
6) most importantly, just relax and be yourself! Have confidence and you'll succeed!
7) Once you get the job, make sure not to bad mouth anybody. Avoid fights, and listen to your superiors, even if you hate them.

nice tips moezy-chan. i have to wait until october to get a job.. when i turn 17 because that's when i supposedly am getting my license and that way my mom wouldn't have to drive me to work. plus, i'm going to the philippines this summer and in most jobs, they won't give me any vacation because i would still be new there.
i'm annoyed. blaaahh. i'm tired and annoyed with school. i need spring break to come NOW. haha. `=P 3 more weeks... and 3 more months of school...

Aww, lucky, aishiteru! You get to go to the Philippines >_< My parents were thinking of going in the summer, but they said, "no, it's hurricane and flood seasons, and it rains a lot!" Plus, everyone can't go because of exams and "important" schoolwork. Bah to that. I'd take going back to my home country (well, not really, since I was born in Canada?) than crappy old work anyday!
Anime North, an important Anime Con, is in May. I have no money! I'm completely broke, and my parents don't approve of the idea of buying anime and manga. I can't earn money because I can't get a job! *Sob* Maybe my parents will be willing to give me money to stock up on my anime needs if I do all my chores, make my bed, stop being a lazy bum, do my homework, blah, blah, blah. I'm willing to do anything for money!
I'm supposed to go to the anime con (dressed as Sakura!) with my cousin and my friend who has agreed to be Syaoran (I LOVE Syaoran though, this dude is only my friend), but my friend cancelled because he found out he's going to Florida in May! Bah! What's a Sakura without a Syaoran? >_< The one year I finally get to cosplay, no one's going to cosplay with me!
