i haven't got hurt seroiusly, or i've never been to the Hospital( i mean, never)
in my life..though once i got poked in my eye with the ski stick and got stitches, but i don't remember being in the hospital..because that was long time ago...
sry if this advice doesn't help, but if it's okay with the doctor or nurse..you might like to invite some of( or one) of your friends over....or like other said manga book dvd player...anything you enjoy
