those 2 anime are really interesting. i just started watching eureka 7 recently. only watched the 1st episode. and it already looks wicked.
the law of ueki - (i don't know how to explain it so this is taken from animenewsnetwork.com) Kousuke Ueki, a student of the Hinokuni Junior High School, is actually a "God Candidate" in a selection where people battle out to become God. Embodied with the ability to turn garbage into trees, Kousuke will be joining in the battle against other junior high school students in this selection. This sets the premise for the earth-friendly battle where the students will pit their powers against the rest.
eureka 7 - (taken from same place) Renton is a 14-year old youth who occasionally helps out his father as a mechanic. But his feelings of dissatisfaction and frustration grows as his mundane and routine work clouds his visions for his future and he dreams of flying around the world. It isn't until one day, a large human-like mech falls from the sky in front of young Renton and appearing from the depths of the machine is a beautiful young girl named Eureka. And as she asks the dumbfounded Renton for repairs, the two will embark upon a fantastic journey into the unknown.

Gosh the only thing i have time to watch is TRC, i've been meaning to catch up on all the others but had no time. any recommendations of what else to watch first?

Umm...Naruto, Inuyasha and Gravitation are very good. If you have any extra time, try out FAKE too.
